It is with great pleasure that MelodicRock Records announces the signing of Swedish hard rockers StoneLake for the release of their new studio release ‘Thunder And Rain’.

It is the third release in a partnership with StoneLake’s founder Jan Akesson, following previous albums from S.A.Y and Jan Akesson’s Shadow Rain.

This will be StoneLake’s seventh album and their first in 5 years. The band might have a new updated logo, but ‘Thunder And Rain’ is an album of classic StoneLake you know and love – high octane guitar riffs, pounding rhythm section and layers of vocals and keyboards brining the melody.

Bound to appeal to fans of Swedish hard rock, TNT and Yngwie Malmsteen and the like…

Jan Akesson comments: “We are happy to announce the release of our 7th album "Thunder and Rain" through Melodic Rock Records! After a break of nearly 5 years it's great to have finished the work of an album that we are very proud of!”

Vocalist Peter Gundstrom: “With this work we are back to the roots where we once started off with melodic songs, harmonies and riffs like the old school! Everything comes from heart and soul and I am very humble still to be able and deliver what I love!”

Jan concludes: “To release this album is great because this means that we are back for the future again! We feel that the songwriting and production gets better all the time and this have no ending as long as we love what we are doing! We would also like to thank Andrew for believing in us and that our cooperation goes on and on!”

AOR HEAVEN have most recently inked a new deal with Finnish Hard Rock prject IMPERIUM and will release their new album “Beyond The Stars” on May 25. On the same day, the former Japanese only release from German Melodic Rock group FRONTLINE, “Heroes”, will be released outside of Japan for the first time. This record will be ltd. to 1000 CD copies only and was remastered by guitarist Robby Böbel.

Band: Imperium - Beyond The Stars
Release date: 25.05.2018
Label: AOR Heaven

Imperium is the solo project of drummer Mika Brushane. Mika has been playing drums and percussion in various bands since 1981 in all genres from jazz to metal and composed songs for different genres - and this legacy of mixed genres can be heard in the IMPERIUM sound! The music is Melodic Rock which has a big dose of 80’s feel and sounds in it.

The project started in 2012 when Mika composed a new track for the new STRIKE record “We’re back” and realized that there was more songs in him that needed to be released. In 2016, the debut album by IMPERIUM, “Dreamhunter”, saw the light of day on  AOR Heaven.
In IMPERIUM, Mika is in charge of the song-writing and playing all drums, bass, keyboards and the backing vocals. All lead vocals and guitars are performed by various very talented musicians from the rock/metal scene.
Also the album’s post production was handled by top professionals, i.e. it was  mixed by Erkka Korhonen (Dark Sarah, Urban Tale, Northern Kings, Ari Koivunen, Raskasta Joulua) and mastered by the legendary Mika Jussila (Nightwish, Children of bodom, Stratovarius, HIM etc.) “Beyond The Stars” was produced and mostly recorded during 2017-2018 by Mika himself at his Groovehouse studio in Vantaa, Finland.

IMPERIUM is: Mika Brushane - Music, lyrics, drums, vst-bass, keyboards and backing vocals, Erkka Korhonen - Guitars, Samuli Federley - Guitars, Toni Huovinen - Guitars, Susanna Eronen - Backing vocals, Sini Heinilä - Backing vocals
Guest stars on “Beyond the stars”: Dennis Ward - Lead & backing vocals (Gus G, Khymera, Unisonic, Pink Cream 69, Place Vendome, Sunstrom, etc.); Markku Kuikka - Lead & backing vocals (Crow’s Flight, Agonizer, Kenziner, The Ragged Saints, Status Minor, etc.); Antti Railio - Lead & backing vocals (The Voice of Finland winner, Ex-Celesty, Solo artist, Raskasta Joulua tour etc.), Rob Lundgren - Lead & backing vocals, (solo artist, The Midgard project, Barque of Dante, etc.)

Band: Frontline - Heroes
Release date: 25.05.2018
Label: AOR Heaven

FRONTLINE from Nürnberg, Germany belong to the pioneers of the German hard rock scene. Founded in 1989 by Robert Böbel (guitars, keyboards; EVIDENCE ONE, PHANTOM V), Stephan Kämmerer (vocals), Thomas Riess (bass) und Stephan Bayerlein (drums), their debut album “The State Of Rock” finally hit the stores in 1994 - a true classic which until today still is regarded as the finest album of the band by many. This record also meant the breakthrough for the guys in Japan where they reached # 10 in the rock sales charts. Straightly after the release, FRONTLINE went on tour in Europe and had the honour to open for various great acts such as GOTTHARD, CRASH TEST DUMMIES, BONFIRE, TYKETTO and CASANOVA.

In 1995,  FRONTLINE pulled out the full acoustic album -Two Faced“. However, personal differences within the band followed and ended up in the departure of Stephan Bayerlein and Thomas Riess in 1996. They were replaced by Thomas -Hutch“ Bauer (Bass) und Rami Ali (Drums; EVIDENCE ONE, SHYLOCK). Still in the same year, FRONTLINE signed a record deal with a new label, recorded the single “Man In Motion” and the album “Heroes” which though officially only saw the light of day in Japan since their European label went out of business.

One year later, the band decided to start working on another new album which is well known under it’s working title “Heroes II” amongst the fans but never saw a release. Due to a complicated contractual situation many labels feared to contact FRONTLINE during the following years and the band went back to the underground again until Georg Siegl at AOR Heaven finally showed his interest in the band in the year 2000 and signed them for the first time. Just one month later, the album “Right Attitude” was released which can be regarded as a sort of compilation out of both “Heroes” albums -and “Right Attitude” became a huge success for the band again! The recordings for their 2002 output “Against The World” started the same year, and this album finally re-established FRONTLINE on the international hard rock market.

Throughout the months after the release of the best of compilation “Almost Unreleased” (2003) which also featured a couple of rare tracks for the fans, FRONTLINE again went into the studio and started to work on a new album called “The Seventh Sign” (2004). In the year 2006, the last studio album the German group called “Circles” was released.

On May 25th 2018, AOR Heaven now will re-issue the former Japanese only release “Heroes” as limited edition of 1000 copies. The album was  re-mastered by guitarist Robby Böbel.

SEVENTH WONDER To Release 'Tiara' October 12

Friday, October 12, 2018
Categories:

Heeding the ravenous Seventh Wonder fans’ requests to hear new music from the band, Frontiers Music Srl is pleased to finally announce the release of “Victorious,” the first single off of SEVENTH WONDER’s brand new studio album "Tiara", which is scheduled for release on October 12th!
Hailing from Sweden, progressive metal greats Seventh Wonder are thrilled to be releasing their long in the making fifth studio album Tiara, their first batch of new material since “The Great Escape,” originally released in 2010. Having previously released via Frontiers the live album and long-form video, “Welcome to Atlanta” (recorded at the ProgPower Festival in 2014), the band is now ready to “unleash the beast”!
Says bassist Andreas Blomqvist, “It has been many years in the making, but it is finally done and we couldn’t be happier with it. Tiara is everything you have come to expect from Seventh Wonder, but I also hope there are some new flavors in there to keep it interesting. We really didn’t think too much about what sound we were going for, nor did we have to force it, it all came natural, albeit slow this time around. We are super proud of this album and we are so much looking forward to sharing it with you!”
Continues Andreas, "Victorious was the first song on the album that was completed. It wasn’t written first, but it was the first one we sat down and wrote the lyrics for, so it is special to us. I am thrilled to finally be able to share a song off of Tiara with you!”

Tiara will be released on October 12, 2018 on CD, 2xLP, and MP3.
Originally formed in Stockholm in 2000, the band debuted in 2005 with “Become”. The second album, “Waiting in the Wings” - and first to feature Tommy Karevik on vocals - followed in 2006. Two more successful records, the concept album, “Mercy Falls” (2008) and “The Great Escape” (2010) followed before the band went on a hiatus of sorts following singer Tommy Karevik being chosen to take Roy Kahn’s place in KAMELOT.

LORDS OF BLACK New Album, ‘Icons Of The New Days’ Out May 11

Friday, May 11, 2018
Categories:

After two critically acclaimed albums, the self-titled debut and sophomore album, “II”, it was time for Lords Of Black to craft their all important third album. With the anticipation created by the album’s predecessors and vocalist Ronnie Romero’s selection as the singer for Ritchie Blackmore’s Rainbow reunion, expectations are high and the pressure is on for the band to deliver. Have they?

“Icons Of The New Days” is more than enough proof that yes, the band has indeed delivered in spades! Lords Of Black has crafted a collection of amazing songs that draw from the influences of traditional heavy metal with elements of progressive metal thrown in the mix with robust production showcasing all the member’s talents. Guitarist Tony Hernando, drummer Andy C., bassist Dani Criado and vocalist Ronnie Romero are indeed a rising force to be reckoned with in the modern metal scene.

Tracks like the incredible album opener, “World Gone Mad” along with “Not In A Place Like This” and the title track set the bar high for an album that is going to be a contender for metal album of the year. “Forevermore” and “The Way I’ll Remember” are simply stunning and powerful metal tunes such as “When A Hero Takes A Fall” and “Wait No Prayers For The Dying” will cause you to thrust your fist to the sky. As has become the band’s tradition, epic songs like “King’s Reborn” and “All I Have Left”, the longest song ever written by Lords Of Black, anchor the proceedings.

Once again produced by Tony Hernando and Roland Grapow (who also handled mixing and mastering duties), the production and quality of the song arrangements are another decisive factor in the greatness on display here.

Last but not least, Felipe Machado has delivered another stunning album cover.

Fasten your seat belts and enjoy “Icons of the New Days”, an album that will be ultimately prove to be an iconic chapter in this band’s history.

New AIRRACE Album 'Untold Stories' Out August 10

Artist:
Friday, August 10, 2018
Categories:

One of the UK’s pioneering AOR acts, Airrace were originally formed in 1982. Having recently re-signed to the Frontiers label, they have today released a new single and announced a forthcoming album and a tour to promote it.
The single, ‘Summer Rain’, is described by band leader and guitarist Laurie Mansworth as “a song for the summer. I wanted to write something upbeat with a positive feel, as there is far too much doom and gloom around at the moment. This song will hopefully take you to a sunny day and lift your spirit."

The album, entitled ‘Untold Stories’, will be released on 10th August. Mansworth continues : “We had a great time making the record. It’s not typically Airrace, with a lot of the material being more 70’s influenced. There is also a much wider spectrum between light and shade in the writing. I have always liked a wide range of different musical styles, from ELO to Led Zep, and when writing these songs I incorporated many of my influences from over the years.”

An eight date UK tour in September to promote the album will see Airrace pairing up with Frontiers labelmates The Treatment with support from Tequila Mockingbyrd. The itinerary is :
21.09.18 CARDIFF Clwb Ifor Bach
22.09.18 LONDON Underworld
23.09.18 NORWICH Waterfront
24.09.18 CAMBRIDGE Portland
27.09.18 WOLVERHAMPTON Slade Rooms
28.09.18 SHEFFIELD Corporation
29.09.18 NEWCASTLE Cluny
30.09.18 GLASGOW Stereo
Known in Hard Rock circles for being the band that saw the musical debut of drummer Jason Bonham, Airrace was the brainchild of former More guitarist Laurie Mansworth. Following the acclaimed 1984 release of their debut album, ’Shaft Of Light’, the band supported rock titans such as Queen, AC/DC and Meat Loaf, but they had crash-landed by the summer of 1985. It took a 25th anniversary reissue of the record to reunite the group (with a slightly amended line-up), and they eventually issued a second album, ‘Back To The Start’, via Frontiers in 2011.

Adam Payne - vocals
Laurie Mansworth - guitar

Linda Kelsey Foster - keyboards

MelodicRock Records Error: Arti Tisi

An unfortunate screw up with one of last year’s MRR titles was brought to my attention this week.

The Arti Tisi release “The Reeperbahn” contains a track that isn’t Arti at all. “When You Love Someone” is actually the original Drive She Said track, as released on the “Driving Wheel” album. And it seems we also used the original master of “Think Of Love”, with Arti's voice overdub, without permission as well.

It’s no excuse, but a lot of the source material lacked labelling, so this clearly demonstrates an area that needs to be handled more carefully with future planned archive releases.

Obviously this was an unintentional and innocent mistake, but also a pretty dumb one at that. MelodicRock Records and Arti Tisi sincerely apologise to Mark and Al’s family.

Rust n’ Rage - Biography

Rust n’ Rage is a rock band formed in 2010, hailing from Pori, the west-coast of Finland. Founding members of the band are guitarist Johnny and drummer Jezzie. The original line-up had a different singer, bassist and also another guitarist, Martti. In the early years of the band, Rust n’ Rage mainly played covers, all the while creating their own material. The bands true spirit and line-up started forming when Vince took the mantle of the singer and Eddy grabbed the bass. Not long after, there was a demo-session of three songs, and two of the songs ended up in the debut album later on. Rust n’ Rage was going on strong as a five-man band, until Martti decided to focus on his own projects and passions. The band decided to keep on going as a four-man group, with only the power of one guitar.

At this point, they already had a lot of own material, and it was time to record a debut album. The debut, ”Showdown”, was released in the start of 2013 via local record company, Ektro Records. Three music videos were released from the album, and the record got mainly good reviews from all around the globe. After intense touring around Finland, it was time to start going abroad. Rust n’ Rage went for a six-gig tour, that consisted of gigs in Sweden, Latvia and ended in Estonia, in the summer of 2014.

From here, the band had loads of new ass-kickin’ material, and after choosing which songs to record for a second album, all that was left was to start recording it.
In the summer of 2015, Rust n’ Rage started ”Nothing to Lose-tour”, which was done with another Pori based band, Serpico. This tour had gigs in Latvia and Finland, and ended up with eight gigs, all around England.

From the upcoming album, two singles have been released already: ”Riding on the Storm”, as a lyric video and ”Take it Off”, as a music video. Third video “Dreamcatcher” will be released on spring 2018. The planned release date for the second album, “Tales from the Wasteland”, is coming in May.
