SONS OF APOLLO Debut New Video & Add Tour Dates

February 20, 2018 -- SONS OF APOLLO--former Dream Theater members Mike Portnoy and Derek Sherinian, Ron "Bumblefoot" Thal (ex-Guns N’ Roses), Billy Sheehan (The Winery Dogs, Mr. Big, David Lee Roth) and Jeff Scott Soto (ex-Journey, ex-Yngwie Malmsteen's Rising Force)—released the Vicente Cordero-directed video today for “Alive” from their #1 highly anticipated debut album, PSYCHOTIC SYMPHONY.
In touring news, SONS OF APOLLO launched their first-ever highly anticipated world tour in Tampa, FL last week as part of the “Cruise To The Edge.” The band recently added a new leg of U.S. dates starting April 19 in Montreal, Quebec at the Corona Theatre. For more information about tickets and on sale dates, fans should visit
As Mike Portnoy declares, "Ever since this lineup assembled to make PSYCHOTIC SYMPHONY, the thing I’ve been most excited about is anticipating how insane I know this band is going to be on stage. Well, the wait is almost over! Here are the first U.S. dates that will get to witness this ‘five-headed musical spectacle’ live on stage in February. We plan on being on tour all year long, all over the globe, with plenty of dates now being announced for summer festivals throughout Europe, but these are the very first shows that will get to witness this amazing lineup in person for the first time. We can’t wait!”
Released October 20 via InsideOutMusic / Sony, PSYCHOTIC SYMPHONY is available as a 2CD Mediabook (featuring a second disc of instrumental mixes and extended booklet with an exclusive Studio Diary), Gatefold 2LP vinyl + CD (which comes with an etching on side D and the entire album on the CD), Standard Jewelcase CD & digital download. It was produced by the dynamic production duo of Portnoy and Sherinian, also affectionately known as “The Del Fuvio Brothers,” which is the nickname given to them over 20 years ago during their time together in Dream Theater.
PSYCHOTIC SYMPHONY—which called an “impressive debut disc”--debuted at #1 on Billboard’s “Heatseeker Albums” chart, as well as #10 on the “Rock Chart,” and #33 on the “Top Current Albums” chart. As Vintage Guitar declares, “This super-duper ensemble is like an old back issue of Marvel Team-Up that simply cannot be ignored.” Order it here:

DENNIS DeYOUNG Announces The Grand Illusion 40th Anniversary US Album Tour

Dennis DeYoung announces a special live tour celebrating the 40th Anniversary of STYX's iconic 1977 album release, THE GRAND ILLUSION. DeYoung will reflect back on more than 4 decades of musical excellence throughout the performance. This includes performing the entire Grand Illusion album plus all the greatest hits written and sung by DeYoung including - “Come Sail Away,” “Babe,” “Mr. Roboto,” “The Best Of Times,” and “Lady.” Other hit songs attendees may expect include fan favorites "Renegade," "Blue Collar Man," "Suite Madame Blue" and more.

The excitement of the Grand Illusion 40th Anniversary Tour is the magic of DeYoung's instantly recognizable voice bringing the classic STYX catalog to the live stage. For fans that weren't witness to the original album tour, DeYoung shares, "The Grand Illusion album was STYX’s greatest achievement, and this year my band and I will bring its sound and spirit to life nightly on concert stages across America."

The Grand Illusion was STYX's seventh studio album, but historically serves as the album that would launch the band to super stardom with DeYoung's song "Come Sail Away" reaching number 8 on Billboard's Top 100 in 1977. The song pushed album sales to more than 3 million copies and gave STYX a multi-platinum album certification bringing STYX critical commercial success. The album remains a staple on classic rock radio stations worldwide.

Of the Grand Illusion album, DeYoung adds "I formulated the theme behind the Grand Illusion album after observing how American culture creates illusions through advertising and entertainment to convince us that our lives our lacking, in order to sell products. I told the audience that we were part of the Illusion and warned them not to be “fooled by the radio,” which was us, and that in the end, despite the illusions and hype created, that “deep inside we’re all the same."

2018 offers opportunities for fans to see Dennis DeYoung and his band at a hometown venue. New dates are being added and ticket sales are available through DeYoung’s official website. For a detailed list of venues and performance dates, visit

"I've been extremely blessed to have had two successful music careers," OSBOURNE says.  "I'm looking at this final tour as being a huge celebration for my fans and anyone who has enjoyed my music over the past five decades."
On his upcoming farewell world tour, produced by Live Nation, OSBOURNE will celebrate more than five decades as a performer (both as a solo artist and as lead singer of Black Sabbath which formed in 1968).  This tour, expected to take OZZY around the world with dates into 2020, will mark the end of global touring for the legendary artist, though he will continue to perform select live shows in the future.  Throughout his career, OZZY has sold more than 100 million records.

It’s going to be a mega concert and party combined. We will be playing all the hits and bringing high energy rock and roll good times. I promise this will be awesome. My friends CHEAP TRICK and POP EVIL will be joining us as well as some special guests on select dates. Again, I know all the bands with all the hits will be giving 1000%!!! Over the last years, POISON has got to co-headline with some great bands:  Def Leppard, Motley Crue, Kiss, Lynyrd Skynyrd, to name a few, but I promise again, C.C., Bobby, Rikki and myself together will bring NOTHING BUT A GOOD TIME!!!”
“POISON is a just great American Rock and Roll Band,” declares Bob Roux, President of U.S. Concerts, Live Nation. “Along with CHEAP TRICK, this show is going to be Nothing But A Good Time –  The Full Tilt Party of the Summer. POISON and CHEAP TRICK always deliver the goods.”
Rick Nielsen, CHEAP TRICK (lead guitar) proclaims, "Another Poison/Cheap Trick Tour!!! It’s always been FUN with these guys!"
While POP EVIL singer Leigh Kakaty concludes, “This summer is going to be an exciting one for POP EVIL, that’s for sure! What a fantastic opportunity to bring our live show across the country on the big stage with such legends like POISON and CHEAP TRICK.”
POISON, fronted by reality TV superstar Bret Michaels (lead vocals/guitar), Bobby Dall (bass), Rikki Rockett (drums), CC Deville (guitars) is known around the world for their high energy, big hits, live show and is one of America's legendary Rock bands. They have sold over 40 million albums and DVDs worldwide and have sold over 15 million records in the United States alone. POISON, whose career has spanned over 25 years, may be one of the most successful independent bands to have such a long multi-Platinum career. Proof that their have fun, but get it done attitude does just that. They’ve released seven studio albums, four live albums, five compilation albums, and have issued 28 singles to radio. They’ve charted 12 singles to the Top 40 of the Billboard “Hot 100,” including six Top 10 singles "Nothin’ But A Good Time," "Talk Dirty To Me," "Unskinny Bop," and "Something To Believe In,” as well as the #1 smash hit, "Every Rose Has Its Thorn.” Their breakthrough debut album, the multi-Platinum LOOK WHAT THE CAT DRAGGED IN, was released in 1986 and they hit their peak with the second album, OPEN UP AND SAY... AHH!, which became the band's most successful album, being certified five times Platinum in the U.S. The popularity continued into the new decade with their third consecutive multi-Platinum selling album, FLESH & BLOOD. In the 1990s following the release of the band's first live album, SWALLOW THIS LIVE, the band experienced some lineup changes, but despite that, the band's fourth studio album, NATIVE TONGUE, still achieved Gold status and the band's first compilation album, POISON'S GREATEST HITS: 1986–1996, went double Platinum. In the 2000s, with the original lineup back together, the band found new popularity after a successful greatest hits reunion tour in 1999.The band celebrated their 20-year anniversary with “The Best of Poison: 20 Years of Rock” tour and album, which was certified Gold and marked POISON's return to the Billboard Top 20 charts for the first time since 1993. Throughout the years, Bret Michaels has released several chart topping solo albums and starred in some of the highest rated, record breaking reality TV shows on NBC, ABC and VH1. A philanthropist, the type 1 diabetic, Michaels has donated a portion of the proceeds from his latest single, “Jorja Bleu,” to St. Jude Children’s Hospital and through is Life Rocks Foundation supports many other charitable causes. After more than 30 years, the band is still recording music and performing live to audiences around the world.
CHEAP TRICK: Robin Zander (vocals, rhythm guitar), Rick Nielsen (lead guitar) and Tom Petersson (bass guitar) are part of the very fiber of American music, inspiring and delighting generations with their unique union of massive melodies and razorblade riffs, their own special brand of mischievous wit and maximum rock ‘n’ roll. Since the ‘70s, they’ve been blending elements of pop, punk and even metal in a way that is instantly catchy and recognizable. With timeless classics such as “I Want You to Want Me” and “Surrender,” CHEAP TRICK, now with drummer Daxx Nielsen, are a musical institution. The Rockford, IL band is as vital today as ever, having released three records in the last three years -- BANG ZOOM CRAZY...HELLO (2016), WE’RE ALL ALRIGHT (2017) and CHRISTMAS CHRISTMAS (2017) –and toured relentlessly to packed audiences around the world. 2016 saw CHEAP TRICK's long-awaited induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. The induction honored both the band and the pioneering sound that has earned them total record sales well in excess of 20 million featured appearances and more than 40 international Gold and Platinum certifications. 2017’s WE'RE ALL ALRIGHT! was yet another undisputed triumph for the band as the album's first single, "Long Time Coming," enjoyed an unprecedented run of 18 weeks at #1 on the Mediabase Classic Rock chart.
POP EVIL:  Leigh Kakaty (vocals), Dave Grahs (rhythm guitar, backing vocals), Nick Fuelling (lead guitar, backing vocals), Matt DiRito (bass, backing vocals), Hayley Cramer (drums)—will release their fifth self-titled album February 16 on Entertainment One. Produced by Kato Khandwala, POP EVIL captures Kakaty and his bandmates at their most inspiring. Every song on the album offers a different spin on the concept behind the band’s name and in an era when many rock bands create a few strong singles, and six or seven less memorable songs and call it an album. POP EVIL is all killer, no filler – the best 11 songs culled from 30 demos. It’s a surging, contemporary sounding release that incorporates metal, alternative, hard rock and even some electronic music. In the wake of the band’s peppy, upbeat 2015 album UP, which debuted #1 on the Independent Artist Billboard Album Chart, it went on to produce their biggest single to date, “Footsteps.” It’s a wake-up call, a musical rebirth that inspired the band to self-title the release, partially since they’d never done so. ONYX the bands best-selling album to date was POP EVIL’s breakthrough album that features three straight #1 Rock Singles, “Trenches”, “Deal with the Devil” and “Torn To Pieces.” Their first album, LIPSTICK ON THE MIRROR, came out in 2008 (leading to iTunes naming them "Top New Artists of '08"), and while it introduced listeners to the band’s core sound with well-received singles like “Hero” and “100 in a 55,” POP EVIL has grown exponentially since then.

SATRIANI's 16th solo album, What Happens Next, was released today (January 12, 2018) on Sony/Legacy Recordings.  His longtime touring entity, G3, opened last night in Seattle featuring Dream Theater's John Petrucci and Def Leppard lead guitarist, Phil Collen, joining SATRIANI.  The G3 tour will conclude on February 25 in Milwaukee, WI.

Foreigner’s 40th Anniversary tour was one of last summer’s best selling runs.

“I’m excited to join forces with my fellow U.K. countrymen, David Coverdale and Jason Bonham, for what’s sure to be a rockin’ summer tour in the States,” says FOREIGNER founding member and lead guitarist Mick Jones.
As Whitesnake lead singer David Coverdale says, “We are truly excited and looking forward to playing in 2018 with our friends, Foreigner and Jason Bonham, on their North American tour.”

Says Jason Bonham, "Being part of Foreigner’s 40th Anniversary Tour last summer was wonderful. Opening a show like that was very special to me, so when Mick asked if I’d do it again in 2018, I said yes without hesitation. I’m excited that Whitesnake will be filling out the middle slot this time as I’ve known David since I was 14 years old. It’s going to be a WHOLE LOTTA FUN!"
Since the 1977 release of their first hit “Feels Like The First Time” and their self-titled debut album on Atlantic Records, FOREIGNER has been universally hailed as one of the world’s most popular rock acts with 10 multi-Platinum albums, 16 Top 30 hits, and worldwide album sales exceeding 75 million.  Responsible for some of rock and roll’s most enduring anthems including “Juke Box Hero,” “Cold as Ice,” “Feels Like The First Time,” “Urgent,” “Head Games,” “Say You Will,” and the worldwide #1 hit, “I Want To Know What Love Is,” FOREIGNER continues to rock the charts forty years into the game with massive airplay and continued Billboard “Top 200 Albums” chart success.  FOREIGNER also features strongly in every category in Billboard’s “Greatest of All Time” listing.  Catalog sales often eclipse those of Led Zeppelin, AC/DC, The Rolling Stones, The Who, Def Leppard, Van Halen, Aerosmith, and most of their Classic Rock peers.  (Source: Nielsen SoundScan week ending 8/3/17). FOREIGNER’s catalog sales were recently celebrated in Business Insider as hitting the Top 40 among the Best Selling Music Artists of All Time ahead of Britney Spears, Bob Dylan, Phil Collins, Prince, Queen, and Bon Jovi.
Throughout this tour, FOREIGNER will continue their long-standing partnership with The GRAMMY Museum, by which local school choirs are invited to join the band on stage in almost every market they play. Through this program over the past several years, the band has raised well into the six figures for music in school programs, and given thousands of students
a life-changing experience to rock on stage with one of the most well known bands of all time.
The band recently released a celebratory 40th anniversary album that features 40 tracks tracing their distinguished career. Entitled 40, the album is a comprehensive compilation of original hits and several tracks from the current lineup, with Kelly Hansen on vocals. All tracks were recorded between 1977 and 2017. The current line-up  is Mick Jones (lead guitar), Kelly Hansen (lead vocals), Jeff Pilson (bass, vocals), Tom Gimbel (rhythm guitar, saxophone, vocals), Michael Bluestein (keyboards), Bruce Watson (guitar), and Chris Frazier (drums).
Founded in 1978 by former Deep Purple singer David Coverdale, WHITESNAKE has earned multi-Platinum status for numerous albums, including TROUBLELOVEHUNTERREADY AND WILLING and COME AN’ GET IT, as well as the album that introduced the explosive hard rock revamped WHITESNAKE sound with SLIDE IT IN. The band is currently celebrating the 30th anniversary of their 1987’s self-titled multi-Platinum smash hit album, WHITESNAKE.  From these albums came multiple Top 10 hits worldwide, including two #1 singles with “Here I Go Again” and “Is This Love,” as well as the unforgettable hammer of “Still Of The Night,” all leading to virtual 24-hour domination of MTV around the globe. Bombast, bravado, talent and passion have helped establish WHITESNAKE as the perennial platinum favorite they have become and they’re back with a vengeance in 2018.  The world-renowned group featuring David Coverdale (vocals), Reb Beach (guitar), Joel Hoekstra (guitar), Michael Devin (bass), Tommy Aldridge (drums) and Michele Luppi (keyboards) are currently in the studio recording their tentatively titled new studio album FLESH & BLOOD.
Following his participation in the monumental reunion of Led Zeppelin at London’s O2 arena in 2007, drummer Jason Bonham decided to take the music his father was such a huge part of out on the road. The result became Jason Bonham’s Led Zeppelin Evening. Best described as a band that perfectly recreates the music of Robert Plant, Jimmy Page, John Paul Jones and John Bonham, Jason Bonham’s Led Zeppelin Evening not only celebrates one of music’s most iconic bands but also the life of Bonham's late father, who died in 1980.

When asked why he decided to start the project, Jason said, "It was medicine to relieve myself from the amount of Led Zeppelin that I had studied and rehearsed prior to the O2 show and then dealing with the realization that it wasn’t going to go anywhere beyond that one concert. It originally began as me just wanting to put together a show, but once I realized I could make it more than just the music it became something more. It gave me the opportunity to give a little nod to what everyone knows about my dad’s wild side but also show his sensitive side as well. For me, he was always dad at home and this was an idea to show a deeper side of that."

DIXIE DREGS Original Lineup Together After 40 Years

Critically acclaimed and six-time GRAMMY Award nominated musical virtuosos, THE DIXIE DREGS (a.k.a The Dregs), are gearing up for a national U.S. tour starting February 28. The performances will mark the first time in 40 years the original band--Steve Morse (guitar), Andy West (bass), Allen Sloan (violin), Steve Davidowski (keyboards) and Rod Morgenstein (drums)--will share the stage. Tickets are on sale now.
The "DAWN OF THE DREGS" 25-date tour--with additional dates to be announced soon--will take the band across the country starting on February 28 in Clearwater, FL and make stops in Atlanta, Charleston, Washington D.C., New York City, Boston, Pittsburgh, Cleveland, Chicago, Milwaukee, Boulder and Phoenix, among many others, before wrapping April 25 in Dallas, TX. For more information about the "DAWN OF THE DREGS" tour and to purchase tickets, visit:
"This tour is the result of the overwhelming requests we've received from a loyal audience of diehard Dregheads, and new fans who have never seen us perform live, but discovered the band for the first time through Steve's membership in Deep Purple, or Rod as the drummer for Winger," said Dreg's bassist, Andy West. "We can't wait to playfor them all," adds West.
For guitar aficionados, Steve Morse needs no introduction, and his place in the pantheon of guitar greats is certain. But in fact, his career started with the DIXIE DREGS. The band traces its true beginnings to the band Dixie Grit, which started in a Georgia high school with Steve on guitar and Andy West on bass. Dixie Grit morphed into the DIXIE DREGS at the University of Miami School of Music, where Allen Sloan (violin) and Rod Morgenstein (drums) joined up with Steve and Andy, who were the "dregs" of Dixie Grit.
The members of the DIXIE DREGS remained committed to attending the University of Miami School of Music, which hosted a lively and talented musical community during their tenure, including future greats Pat Metheny, Jaco Pastorius, T Lavitz, and Bruce Hornsby, among manyothers. In 1975, the group's demo album, The Great Spectacular, was recorded at the University of Miami and then re-released on CD in 1997.
After graduation, the band moved back to Augusta where Steve Davidowski (keyboards) completed the band. The band paid its dues and honed its skills playing in bars and venues throughout the South in the mid-70's. They established themselves in the firmament of American instrumental music, seamlessly fusing rock with progressive and jazz elements to create a uniquely instrumental-driven style that has stood the test of time.
Based on a short demo and a tip from former Allman Brothers keyboardist Chuck Leavell along with legendary Allman/Dregs tour manager Twiggs Lyndon, Capricorn Records signed the DIXIE DREGS to record Free Fall (1977). The success and critical acclaim of Free Fall announced the DIXIE DREGS to the world, and after its release, they would become a cult-favorite band that would have a lasting influence on much of modern rock.

EUROPE Finally Makes It To Australian Shores

EUROPE Tour The Earth Hits Australia May 2018!
Sweden’s legendary hard rock band EUROPE, best known for their worldwide 1986 Smash Hit The Final Countdown, have announced a run of five Australian dates in May 2018.

This will be the first time the band has toured Australia in their 35 year career!
The band recently entered the famed Abbey Road Studio’s in London to record their 11th Studio album entitled Walk The Earth, with grammy award winning producer Dave Cobb.
An album retaining the classic Europe melodies while pushing the boundaries of experimentation - recorded with equipment used by The Beatles and Pink Floyd at Abbey Road,
Walk The Earth was released worldwide on October 20, 2017
Featuring the classic lineup of Joey Tempest (Lead Vocals), John Norum (Guitar), Mic Michaeli (Keyboards), John Leven (Bass Guitar) and Ian Haugland (Drums),
Europe have achieved total worldwide sales in excess of 25 million, with the 1986 mega-hit The Final Countdown reaching No1 in 25 countries.
The band’s live set will feature all their hits together with fan’s favourites from their studio albums.
On touring Australia Joey Tempest adds “We are so excited to be touring Australia for the first time! It’s something we always wanted to do, but we just couldn’t make the schedules work before. But now its going to happen and we can finally hook up with our friends down under!
Originally formed in 1979 in a small suburb on the outskirts of Stockholm, heavily influenced by British rock giants such as Thin Lizzy, UFO, Led Zeppelin and Deep Purple, the band began to formulate their own sound.
After winning a rock band competition in 1982, where first prize was a recording contract and with a name change to Europe, the world was soon at their feet.  After the release of their first album, the self titled Europe in 1983, the band signed with Sony Epic Records, New York and in 1984 their second album Wings Of Tomorrow set the path for future worldwide success. With their aforementioned third release, The Final Countdown, the band had arrived.
That album spent 70 weeks in the US Billboard top 100 and produced four top 40 singles. With continued touring and sell out concerts all over the world the band released two more albums, 1988’s Out Of This World and 1991’s Prisoners In Paradise, but after 10 years of solid recording and touring and the changing music scene that put “Classic Hard Rock” on the back burner the band decided to take a break.
After enjoying the 90's releasing solo albums and touring in other constellations, in 2004 the band met up again after realising their journey was no where near complete.
The original line up reformed and released album number six Start From The Dark the same year. The band retained the old fans and at the same time regaining new ones. The coming years saw constant touring with headline festival appearances together with vast critical acclaim for their new album releases - Secret Society in 2006, Last Look At Eden in 2009 and Bag Of Bones in 2012.
2015 saw the release of War Of Kings which was later awarded a prestigious Classic Rock Award in the UK. This record put the band back at the top of their game.
The album’s success saw the band tour the USA twice, the first time the band had been there in 10 years, together with other territories, some brand new and some back for the first time since the 80’s.
2016 saw the 30th Anniversary of The Final Countdown and to celebrate the band played a series of special SOLD OUT concerts around Europe where they played the album in it’s entirety for the first time ever,
with the London Roundhouse concert being filmed and recorded for the DVD / Audio CD release, which hit the shops in July.

ERIC JOHNSON To Perform ‘Ah Via Musicom’ In Its Entirety in 2018 Tour

Run Begins At Tucson’s Rialto Theater on January 23 with Arielle As Direct Support
Austin, TX – Eric Johnson has announced plans to perform his celebrated album AH VIA MUSICOM in its entirety at dates across America in 2018.  Johnson shares, “I listen to the fan feedback and comments as I plan my projects and tours.  That's how I got into the recording and subsequent tour with Mike Stern. Same thing with the acoustic recording and tour because I kept hearing ‘Hey when are you gonna do that acoustic record you've been talking about for years’. But by far, the most feedback I've been getting from fans is to play the entire Ah Via Musicom record live so I figured I've put this off for too long.  The time is now, and the timing worked out for Tommy Taylor and Kyle Brock to be involved too so here we go.”  The tour will begin on January 23 at Tucson’s Rialto Theater and continue through March 16 in Milwaukee.  A complete itinerary follows below.
The guitar has been very good to Eric Johnson, earning him international renown as a player, composer, recording artist and live entertainer as well as an ever-growing audience of admirers. And Eric Johnson has been very good to the guitar, spotlighting its myriad melodic, sonic and lyrical splendors, paying homage to its heroes and innovators, collaborating and playing with many of its finest contemporary talents, and fostering its continuing vibrancy as a primarily instrumental genre in popular music.
The pivotal event in Johnson's rise to becoming, as Guitar Player says, “one of the most respected guitarists on the planet," was his million-selling, now-classic 1990 album Ah Via Musicom (which loosely translates as "communicating through music"). It was his second release, following Tones, his 1986 major label debut.
Musicom yielded three Top 10 singles – "Cliffs of Dover," which has become Johnson's signature song and won a Best Rock Instrumental Grammy, and "Trademark" and "Righteous." It made him the first artist to ever score three Top 10 instrumentals. Now, 28 years later, he revisits that landmark recording with a 2018 tour on which he will play the album – hailed as a "masterwork" in's review – in its entirety.
The years prior to Ah Via Musicom and since are rich with accomplishments. Over the now five studio albums that have followed it – Venus Isle (1996), Bloom (2005), 2010's Up Close (and its revised European version Up Close – Another Look, now being issued in the US), EJ (2016) and the latest – Eric has broadened and enriched his rock guitar palette and further delved into his love for blues, jazz and country. He's earned six Grammy nominations, has topped or been listed high in countless greatest guitarist lists in music publications, and been featured on the cover of most every guitar magazine, many more than once.
The Austin, Texas-based Johnson closes out 2017 with a new album, Collage, that combines five new original songs with five covers that reflect both his inspirations and range: An acoustic version of Jimi Hendrix's "One Rainy Wish," The Beatles classic "We Can Work It Out" in a Caribbean groove, B.B. King's "Rock Me Baby," the surf rock classic "Pipeline" and Stevie Wonder's 1966 #3 pop hit "Uptight (Everything's Alright)."
Once Ah Via Musicom hit, the Los Angeles Times noted how he had already "been compared with rock's immortals." But Eric himself modestly demurs. "I don't think I'm a rock god. I just keep playing. It's fun, and I'm glad people enjoy it."

The official trailer for Styx & Don Felder: Renegades In The Fast Lane” can be seen here:
For these special performances, STYX--Tommy Shaw (vocals, guitars), James “JY” Young (vocals, guitars), Lawrence Gowan (vocals, keyboards), Todd Sucherman (drums) and Ricky Phillips (bass), along with the occasional surprise appearance by original bassist Chuck Panozzo—has created an exclusive set list and brand new stage production. DON FELDER is also working on some exciting plans of his own for the residency. The multi-show run will pay tribute to both STYX’s and DON FELDER’s combined 45-plus years as one of the most successful rock and roll bands in history and one of rock’s most illustrious guitar legends.
As STYX’s Tommy Shaw explains, “After our ‘Renegades In The Fast Lane’ residency earlier this year, we kept hearing the question, ‘Will there be more dates?’ Well the answer is, YES! We had such a great time trading stage time with Don Felder. First being his band playing a set from his former band, Eagles, and then having Don join us to play some STYX songs. Now we are returning for another round of shows!!!”
While STYX’s James “JY” Young is “Very excited to take the stage once again with our brother in arms, Don Felder, and be back at that amazing and beautiful theatre at The Venetian in Las Vegas. We had a blast last year and we are excited to go back. Viva Las Vegas!”
DON FELDER agrees, “I’m truly looking forward to returning to The Venetian with my buddies, STYX.  We had such a great time last year, and we’re coming back again to rock it in January 2018. Two of my favorite things are playing with STYX and rocking in Las Vegas. Doesn’t get much better than that! Can’t wait to see you there.”
As Mike Weatherford of the Las Vegas Review-Journal wrote about 2017’s “Renegades In The Fast Lane,” STYX is “’s perennial Vegas showmen...every tune is impeccably played and spot-on in its musicianship...Of all the classic rock groups, STYX maybe left the most bread crumbs to a Las Vegas future with the camp Broadway flair of 1981’s PARADISE THEATRE.”

GOTTHARD Get 'Defrosted' All Over Again

Call it insanity, love, passion or obsession: Not by any stretch of the imagination are GOTTHARD willing to keep their feet still. After the triumphant Silver/Anniversary Tour with 50 shows in front of 300,000 people, multiple chart records and prime time slots at every important festival, Leo, Freddy, Marc, Hena, and Nic are releasing the next sensational news: Precisely 20 years after the release of the “DEFROSTED” album, GOTTHARD are gleefully whetting their instruments to get the legendary live experience back on the road in 2018.
In the late 90s, the release of the spectacular unplugged live album “DEFROSTED” rang the bell for a whole new era: After an impressive rocket launch with headliner tours and their first #1 albums in Switzerland, GOTTHARD went all in again with an unplugged live album. Successfully. “DEFROSTED” reached double platinum sales after three months, and the accompanying tour across sold-out clubs and onto massive festival stages went on for two years instead of the originally slated two months due to overwhelming demand – additionally providing the boys with a brand-new fan base. Because of its extraordinary intimacy and atmosphere, the “DEFROSTED UNPLUGGED TOUR 1997” is still iconic today and a main topic throughout all media and fan communities.
Upping the ante is a matter of honor for the ultimate unplugged experience’s new edition. On the face of it, GOTTHARD have again selected the finest small clubs and secured the biggest festivals – however, on the inside, of course, the band is now equipped with over 20 years of additional experience and a truck load full of additional hits. The “DEFROSTED UNPLUGGED TOUR 2018” offers high fives with current and former guest musicians, all-time faves as well as new hits like “Heaven”, “Lift U Up” and “Anytime, Anywhere”, which weren’t even written in 1997 – and all of this wrapped in brand-new acoustic arrangements for a unique party full of great moments, quiet memories and much loved riffs.
Those, who don’t want to risk waiting another 20 years, should keep a few nights clear in 2018 and watch out for the next newsletter: All dates of the “DEFROSTED UNPLUGGED TOUR 2018” will be announced here first.

EVANESCENCE Return This Fall With 'Synthesis' Fourth Studio Album Out Fall 2017

EVANESCENCE return this fall with SYNTHESIS, their fourth studio album, slated for a Fall 2017 release. The group today, August 14, announced the "Synthesis Live" tour will launch this fall beginning October 14 on the west coast (confirmed dates below). Like the album, "Synthesis Live" will feature a reimagining of some of EVANESCENCE's best-loved songs with the spotlight on full orchestra, electronics  combined with the band and Amy Lee's virtuoso piano and voice.
"This is a total passion project for me. There are so many layers in our music, underneath the huge drums and guitars," explains AMY LEE of EVANESCENCE. "I've always wanted to shine a light on some of the gorgeous David Campbell arrangements and programming elements in our songs, and that idea snowballed into completely re-doing them with full orchestra, not just strings, elaborate programming and experimentation. This will be our first time touring with orchestra and I'm so excited to perform this way-really focus on the vocals, and the emotion and the story we've built over the years. I'm also really excited about the new material on the album. Besides the two new songs, there are some really beautiful instrumental in-between moments. The whole thing flows like a big, dynamic soundtrack."

"Synthesis Live" fan and VIP pre-sales are on-sale beginning tomorrow (Tuesday, August 15) with general on-sale--beginning Friday, August 18. Every ticket sold will come with a download of the new album, SYNTHESIS when it is released later this fall.  As an added bonus, ticket buyers will also receive songs from the album prior to the album's release date, beginning with a stunning new reworking of the band's biggest hit, "Bring Me To Life," which will be available for download to all ticket buyers as well as on streaming services and in digital stores beginning this Friday (August 18).   A variety of VIP ticket packages are available to ensure fans obtain the best seats in the house.  Other VIP benefits include the opportunity to meet and enjoy a champagne toast with the band, attend their soundcheck, and receive exclusive merchandise items.  For full tour details go to: Expect EVANESCENCE to announce an international tour soon.
AT&T is sending customers to the front of the line with AT&T priority pre-sale ticket access beginning Tuesday, August 15 at 10AM via the AT&T THANKS program. For complete AT&T pre-sale details visit
The two-time, GRAMMY Award-winning group is currently in the studio finishing the new album through August with producers Will Hunt and orchestra arranger and composer David Campbell. Guitarist RIK EMMETT Triumphs In Acoustic Duo Performances With DAVE DUNLOP

Rik Emmett just sold out City Winery Nashville, several weeks prior to the August 26th date.  This will be his first time ever playing Nashville, and the Canadian singer-songwriter-guitarist’s show went clean on August 7th.  Last year, Emmett sold out City Winery Chicago two months prior to the date of the show.  Other sell-outs within the last 2 years include Rams Head Onstage in Annapolis, Tralf Music Hall in Buffalo, The Magic Bag in Detroit, Sellersville Theater and the Tin Angel in the Philadelphia area, Daryl’s House in Pawling, NY, and Tupelo Music Hall in Londonderry, NH (now with a brand new 500-capacity location, where Rik will be appearing for two nights this coming December).  A YouTube video of the old Triumph classic ‘Magic Power’,, shot at Daryl’s House in May of 2015, has over 210,000 views: social media has played a key role in Emmett’s surging success in concert club settings.
One of the most versatile guitarists around, Emmett has been inducted into a few Canadian Halls of Fame for his gold & platinum work with the power rock band Triumph.  Counted amongst the world’s finest guitarists, he has performed alongside legendary performers such as George Benson, Randy Bachman, and Steve Vai. He continues to surprise critics and fans with his vast musical expression, which runs the gamut from rock to jazz to classical to folk – all of which are on display in acoustic duo shows with guitarist Dave Dunlop.  It’s as if the seasoned rock star has found a truer calling in a stripped-down setting.
“Rik Emmett’s performances at The Magic Bag are always intensely personal & profoundly intimate,” notes General Manager Robert Littleton.  “He pulls out all the stops, everything from the Triumph classics to the latest recordings with Dave Dunlop.  He still gives everything he’s got, and Rik lets Dunlop stretch out & play along with him.  The two really complement each other; I couldn’t think of a better dynamic, or a better accompanist than Dave.  Triumph fans are passionate, and music fans always have their opinions about how a show was done.  Not once have I ever heard anything bad about the acoustic show.  When you listen to some of the songs stripped down, something resonates, almost as if you’re hearing the song for the first time.  Take “Lay It On The Line” – a fan favorite, a crowd pleaser – it’s done so true, you’ll want to play air guitar for a chord or two.  On a personal note, Rik & Dave are really easy going & super easy to work with.  They're Canadian gentlemen and the kind of folk you welcome back like family.”
“Rik is a performer’s performer,” adds Donal McCoy, owner of the Tin Angel in Philadelphia where Emmett has performed more than a dozen shows over the years.  “He doesn’t just do a show, but rather takes the audience on a journey, perfectly intertwining stories with fan favorites, both old and new.”  Bruces Ranes of Sellersville Theater concurs, “Rik Emmett with Dave Dunlop sound exceptional… strong vocals with stellar fret-work as they perform a cross section of Triumph classics and solo material.  In addition to selling very well, they’re a pleasure to work with.”
Rik Emmett and Dave Dunlop will be performing at City Winery Atlanta on Friday, August 25th.  A few tickets are still available, but don’t wait too long… it will surely sell out.

DIAMOND HEAD Announce North American Tour

Few metal bands have been as influential and have had the longevity as Diamond Head - listed as a major influence by two of metal's biggest, Metallica and Megadeth. Led by co-founding member/guitarist Brian Tatler, Diamond Head will be launching a North American tour that will include both US and Canadian dates, beginning on August 19 with Psycho Las Vegas festival appearance and ending on September 11 at Saint Vitus in Brooklyn, New York.
'We are excited to get back to North America and see our old friends once more,' says Tatler and Wilcox (who resides in the US).
'Diamond Head may not have toured the continent as much as we would have liked way back when, but we are certainly making up for it now! And the band sounds better than ever,' states Brian.
As part of the New Wave of British Heavy Metal in the late '70s/early '80s, Diamond Head came up in the same scene as eventual global headliners Def Leppard and Iron Maiden. And while Diamond Head did not achieve the same commercial success as the aforementioned bands, they did influence countless subsequent musicians - especially Metallica, as it was a then-teenaged Lars Ulrich that befriended the band early on and became a major fan. Subsequently, Metallica has covered such Diamond Head classics as 'Am I Evil,' 'Helpless,' 'The Prince,' and 'It's Electric' multiple times - on multiple platinum releases.
In addition to performing these classics at their upcoming U.S. shows, expect to also hear material performed off their latest release - 2016's self-titled offering.
There is a new Diamond Head album already in the works (set for release next year).
Soon, many North American headbangers will get their chance to see the legendary Diamond Head and hear the songs that inspired a generation of musicians on a nearby concert stage.

GLENN HUGHES Performs Classic Deep Purple Live in Australia

For The First Time In 40 Years…Performing A Full Concert Of Classic Deep Purple Live!
Glenn Hughes, the Voice Of Rock, played his last concert with Deep Purple on March 15, 1976, at Liverpool's Empire Theatre.
On that night, the UK bassist and vocalist walked away from one of history's truly game-changing rock phenomena and never looked back — until now.
This September, Australia will witness one of the finest hard rock singer/musicians of his generation fronting a mighty handpicked band live in concert,
as he revisits some of Deep Purple's all-time greatest songs for the first time in more than 40 years, with epic stadium rock production.
"Most Purple fans rank Burn and Stormbringer among the greatest albums the band ever made, in any incarnation," Glenn says.
"Over that Mk III period, we were also performing Mk II classics like Smoke On The Water and Highway Star every night on massive world tours.
'My lasting memories with Deep Purple in Australia, was of course the Sunbury Music Festival in '75. After so much sunshine, came the rain – a little prophetic with us performing Stormbringer.
My God, the mud! What mayhem, but the crowds seemed to have a great time, we sure did.'
'I'm incredibly excited to get out there and play tracks like BurnMistreatedStormbringer and Getting Tighter, as well as some of those older songs that helped define the genre.
With this band, I can assure you of a concert that'll blow your mind."
Glenn was inducted into the Rock'N Roll Hall of Fame last year along with his other Deep Purple bandmates.
With one of the heaviest repertoires known to rock, and sound and lighting production values befitting the legend,
Glenn Hughes' Classic Deep Purple shows are destined to write a new page in rock history – GET READY!

The hallowed name of guitar god Jeff Kollman has graced too many greatest player polls to count these last 30 years.
The Ohio punk turned jazz-prog virtuoso has run rings around the world since his '90s metal band Edwin Dare gave way to prog heroes Cosmosquad and a gun-slinging resume that spans
Sebastian Bach to Alan Parsons; Chad Smith's Bombastic Meatballs to UFO spin-off Mogg/Way. A classic guitarist's guitarists, Jeff takes high praise from the likes of Steve Lukather and John Payne in his estimable stride.
On stage and record, he's been a recurring foil for Glenn Hughes since the Songs In the Key of Rock LP of 2003.
Some call him the Jimi Hendrix of the Hammond organ. Glenn Hughes calls him "the greatest living keyboard player in the world.'
Australian soul monster Lachy Doley is a killer showman too, pumping and pounding the most astonishing sounds from the classic B3 Hammond and his uber-rare Hohner D6 Whammy Clavinet.
Lachy's version of Bill Withers' Use Me has clocked millions of YouTube hits and his latest album, Lovelight, has torched blues charts from Australia to the UK. Sideman to Powderfinger, Steve Vai, Jimmy Barnes and Joe Bonamassa, the world-touring keys prodigy cemented his place in Glenn's band during sessions in Copenhagen for the Resonate LP.
Hard-hitting funk-rock drummer Pontus Engborg barrelled out of Sweden to hit the LA session scene barely out of his teens in 2000.
A fast and furious apprenticeship from the Viper Room to the Whiskey and the Knitting Factory would lead to stints with Joe Lynn Turner, Graham Bonnet, Toto's Bobby Kimball and Journey's Steve Augeri.
Back in Sweden, he's been the man behind the supremely versatile Confusion since 2007. It was there that he came to the attention of Glenn Hughes in 2010, and made his debut behind the Voice of Rock in Serbia that July, sans rehearsal or soundcheck, in front of 21,000 people. Seven years later, it's fair to say he passed the audition.

I'm absolutely thrilled for MRR's own BRYAN COLE as he heads for Nashville this weekend, to partake in the gig of a lifetime. Yes, Bryan is singing for a reunited GIANT! Featuring Dann Huff, David Huff and Mike Brignardello, plus keyboardist Tyson Leslie (Vixen) and Mark Oakley.
This is a benefit gig for Todd Austin, who lost everything in a recent fire. The Giant guys are old friend with Todd and agreed to pitch in by performing two songs among a night filled with music.
Now, due to the nature of the event and the fact that Dann Huff hasn't sung in a number years, he felt that he wouldn't do justice to the songs and asked Mike Brignardello if he knew a vocalist. Well, having just played on Bryan Cole's debut album Sands Of Time, Mike immediately called Bryan, who needed no time at all to jump at the chance.
The event takes place this Saturday night in Nashville.
From Mike's FB page: "GIANT reunites for the First Time Ever July 1 @ Basement East for Thrilla for Toddzilla. The original line-up; Dann Huff, David Huff, Mike Brignardello and Mark Oakley, with Tyson Leslie on keys and Bryan Cole on vocals. Show starts at 8:00, be there early, we're playing two songs! Looking forward to seeing our friends and helping our pal Todd Austin. See you Saturday!
And from Bryan this afternoon: "
This Sat night will be a very special evening in Nashville, TN! You do not want to miss this!!! First of all, we're helping a brother musician who lost almost everything in a fire! I've always been absolutely amazing how strong the music community is here in Nashville!
Now for the BIG, GRAND, AWESOME AND GIANT NEWS I PROMISED...... I will take the stage with my musical hero's DANN HUFF, DAVID HUFF, Mike Brignardello, MARC OAKLEY AND Tyson P Leslie for a first ever GIANT REUNION!
Not only am a humbled and honored to have been asked to be a part of the event, but I'll be singing lead vocal for a band that has truly been a MAJOR inspiration! So don't miss this epic event! THIS SATURDAY JULY 1st at 8:00pm at the Basement East in Nashville, TN!
Stay tuned for pictures and video from the event and if you haven't yet checked out Bryan's album, do so here:

KILLER QUEEN Announces US Tour Dates

Lead singer Patrick Myers said “It's been an amazing journey. That first show back in June 1993 changed my life. We thought our band would last maybe a summer at the most but it's a very addictive thing performing these songs! The concerts grew and grew and we've ended up playing and selling out the same arenas that Queen played at their peak. It's been quite a surreal ride. Becoming regular performers Red Rocks Arena in America is another highlight . The Beatles, U2, Springsteen, Dylan all played on that stage. It's really got it's own kind of magic going on there”.

Check out the following video link as Killer Queen power though Bohemian Rhapsody in a packed Ahoy Stadium:

Killer Queen formed back in June 1993. Their first public shows were at London University, following in the footsteps of the real Queen who had played their first shows there 21 years earlier.
By 1995 Killer Queen's UK popularity had grown to such an extent they secured a residency in London's Strand Theatre attracting nationwide BBC coverage - the first tribute to have a show in the West End.

The band's reputation continued to grow both in the UK and abroad. In 1999 they returned from a tour of and Europe and Russia for an awards ceremony in Leicester Square, hosted by Suggs from Madness. He announced they had won the award for “Worldwide Best Tribute Band”.
The band also scored a number one hit when they they were asked to recreate Queen's harmionies for “The Real Life” with Fatboy Slim in 2001.

Killer Queen toured into their second decade, the audiences grew. In 2005 they played Ahoy Stadium, where the reformed Queen would be performing only a few months later.

The next year Killer Queen joined forces with Bjorn Again and The Bootleg Beatles for a Waverly Stadium show in Edinburgh. It was this performance that led to the band being selected to represent Queen in a re-staged tribute LiveAid concert held by Sir Bob Geldof. They performed with him at his arena charity concert to raise funds for the homeless.

2009 saw a triumphant return to a sold out Ahoy stadium with their acclaimed “Queen Spectacular” production and another award, this time from Sweden's Vasteras concert hall “Best Concert of The Year 2009”. 2013 saw them performing in another one of Queen's former venues, this time the Brighton Centre to celebrate their 20th Anniversary.

In 2016 Killer Queen took the show to America including Red Rocks Arena in Colorado - one of the countries most prestigious venues – The Beatles, Springsteen, U2 have all played there. They will be returning there as a part of their 3rd US tour in 2018.

"Concerts as near to the real thing as you're likely to get. A real life Bohemian Rhapsody. Freddie Lives! A Pop Legend Is back" The People

“Killer Queen is a living jukebox, an absolutely fantastic show. This an evening where you feel the hair stand on the back of your neck. I've never seen the arena explode with such an
electric charge. The sound is perfect...A Concert to remember” The VLT - Sundsvall Sweden.

“This guy is not to be missed” Editor
No detail is overlooked. Killer Queen are kings of the musical impersonators, the highest of tributes. Duncan Kennedy BBC 1
Very accurate. Almost frightening. The show, singing, music and appearance are unbelievably similar to the original. Skipping across the stage with his three and half octave broad tenor powering through the arena, Patrick's spark set the 10,000 Ahoy audience on fire . They danced, sang and clicked their fingers, all under Myers' direction. The best thing since Queen! Der Westen. (Ahoy Stadium Review)

The fabulous Killer Queen came on stage. What an impact! Mirage or Resurection? The group voted best tribute in the world entirely succeeded in resurrecting Freddie Mercury both physically and vocally. You almost believe you were at Wembley Stadium back in 1986.
Voix Du Nord. France.

“Killer Queen rocked the race crowd to the Ebor Stand's rafters at the York Music Showcase last Saturday. The massive (15,000) Knavesmire crowd bounced, roared enthusiastically & punched the air on the terraces to Killer Queen's charismatic and uncannily accurate renditions of the Queen back catalogue, ... Freddie/Patrick, strutted for all the world is if it were Live Aid ...” BBC Yorkshire - Kate Lock

"Patrick Myers' recreation of Queen's lead singer is simply uncanny.”
Baz Bamignoye Daily Mail

"Killer Queen took to the stage, the performance was scarily real. 'Freddie Mercury' gave it all he had in his trademark yellow suit - several outfit changes followed. The audience interaction could almost have been rehearsed. The crowd roared, danced and joined in as though it was a requirement for entry. Brilliant."
