SKULLFEST 2 Updated Details Announced

Friday, October 10, 2014

Skull Fest is set to return to the middle of America this year, with a hard rocking line-up featuring both classic artists and up-and-comers alike!  Concert promoter and organizer, Arttie Parker, says the festival is aiming to give the fans the best of both worlds and to fit the needs of the concert goers.
“We are very excited with this year’s line-up!  We feel like we have two absolute legends in Lizzy Borden and LA Guns as headliners for Friday and Saturday, respectively, and a really strong supporting cast of unique acts that people can’t simply go out and see anytime they want to.  In fact, this will be the ONLY North American appearance of House Of Lords this year, so if you want to see them, Skull Fest is the place to be!  Additionally, we have Killer Dwarfs making the trip down from Canada, and Jetboy will be appearing in Nebraska for the first time, I believe.  Mix in other classic bands like Bang Tango and London, Tango Down (which features David Reece of Bangalore Choir and Accept on vocals), and several newer bands such as Loveblast, Bombay Black, Kickin’ Valentina, Stonebreed, Maxx Explosion, and Saints of Rebellion, and it’s a great line-up!
We also just added Pink Velvet Krush, a new band that features members of BulletBoys, Steelheart, Britny Fox, Vaudeville, and Dust N Bones.  Then, add an absolute guitar shredder in Xander Demos, Benedictum, and regional favorites, 9ine Foot Squirrel, who have a CRAZY nine year old drummer!   Plus, the ‘Reverend’ Luc Carl will be emceeing both nights!”  It’s definitely going to be a party you don’t want to miss!
This year’s festival is scheduled for October 10 and 11 at Sculley’s Shooters in North Platte, NE, which is dead center in the middle of the United States, and an easy drive from major airports in Denver or Omaha.  Tickets start at just $25, with single day or full event VIP packages also still available.
“We still have a few VIP packages left, including just a handful of the Rock Star Experience VIP package, which not only gets you your very own guitar and amplifier, but you also get guitar lessons from Xander Demos!”

BOSTON Brings Roar Of Approval In Sold Out Concert In Los Angeles

Thursday, July 31, 2014

By Gerry Gittelson Los Angeles correspondent

LOS ANGELES -- Boston was not treated especially well here at in terms of reviewing the band's new CD 'Life, Love & Hope' ' and rightfully so because the album is a far cry from what the legendary band once was all about ' but thank god for a back catalog overflowing with incredible songs, mostly from Boston's pre-1990 era.

Led by guitarist Tom Scholz, Boston is touring again, and the group absolutely tore it up on Tuesday, July 29 in a soldout performance before more than 17,000 spectators at the Forum in Los Angeles.

Boston stuck mostly to all the classic hits, mixing in only a small handful of new songs, and the crowd ate it up. My gosh, we have not witnessed a band that sounded this good with such incredible dynamics in a long time.

Opening with a roaring version of 'Rock & Roll Band,' Boston proved ultra-tight and utterly clean, partially thanks to the building's revamped, high-tech PA system, and the place was going wild. Then came 'Smokin'' and 'Feelin' Satisfied,' and at that point Boston had total control of the room.

The last time we had seen Boston live in Los Angeles, new vocalist Tommy DeCarlo was just starting out, having been discovered on youtube, and back then he was overweight and without the charisma to be a frontman for such a majestic band ' and co-lead singer Michael Sweet (now gone) also sucked that night ' but wow what a difference a few years has made. This time, DeCarlo was a different man, well-fit and confident, and my goodness he sang well as a replacement for the late Brad Delp, who was about as irreplaceable as a lead singer could be.

The songs were tuned down a step or so ' as is the case with most classic-rock bands this side of Journey ' but except for failing to hit the very highest notes like on 'Peace of Mind' and a few others, DeCarlo was right in the groove.

On 'Don't Look Back,' Scholz was his usual dominant self, the lanky guitarist tearing his way through the classic radio hit -- including that unforgettable mid-song guitar riff -- and he was Eddie Van Halen-like when he broke into a guitar solo about an hour into the spectacle.

Co-guitarist Gary Pihl proved impressive, too, and with a total of seven players up there making music, Boston put on a show that was richly dramatic and geared toward optimum audience enjoyment.

Everything was going splendidly until former American idol finalist Siobhan Magnus jumped on stage towards the end for 'Walk On' and almost ruined the whole thing with her screaming ' guess Scholz is just too nice to say no ' but the momentum was back in Boston's hands with 'Foreplay/Longtime,' then an encore of 'Party' to finish the evening with an exclamation point.

Overall, a five-star performance. This is about as good as it gets in the classic-rock circuit.

Openers Cheap Trick proved great, too. Robin Zander has never sounded better, and oh what a treat it was to hear well-executed versions of 'Ain't That a Shame,' 'California Man,' 'Surrender, 'Dream Police' and of course 'I Want You to Want Me.'

Zany guitarist Rick Nielsen appeared to be having the time of his life, jumping around the stage, switching guitars and throwing out an endless stream of guitar picks.

LA GUNS marks 30 Years with a Return to the Whisky A Go-Go

Thursday, July 31, 2014

LA Guns marks 30 Years with a Return to the Whisky A Go-Go
From Joe Dolan in LA:

The world famous Whisky A Go-Go played host to a night of local favorites with a headlining show by LA Guns, a band that got it's start on the very same stage 30 years ago. While the names have changed, as far as the performing line-up goes, the sound remains the same; and fans in attendance showed zero lack of support as the venue was filled to capacity by the time LA Guns took the stage.

Front man Phil Lewis was not a member of the 1983/84 line-up of the band when they first assembled the group and began their domination of the 80'sera Sunset Strip music scene. The band rotated members in and out at the time, blending parts with the group Hollywood Rose and eventually spawning two cornerstones in the MTV Headbanger's Ball generation '' LA Guns and Guns n' Roses. The result remains legendary in the influence of literally hundreds, if not thousands of bands that followed. By the time 1985 came around, however, the band had secured Lewis on vocals and his songwriting prowess and live performance history would meld with that of former band guitarist and founding member Tracii Guns to create a sound that would land the band a place in the rock and roll history books forever.

The current line-up of LA Guns includes singer Phil Lewis (Girl, Torme), guitarist Michael Grant (Endeverafter, Assassins), drummer Steve Riley (WASP, Steppenwolf) who has performed with the band as far back as 1987 and on bass guitar, Scotty Griffin (Hookers and Blow, The King Mixers.) The level of authority that each member provides from a history in recording and performing on the hard rock circuit played a key role in turning a night at the Whisky in to a show that concertgoers will talk about for some time to come.

When the curtain dropped and the lights came up, the band opened their set with four fan favorites. The opening song was Show No Mercy, a hard rocker that launched the band in to stardom as the first track of the self-titled debut by the band in 1988, eventually reaching gold status after the release of their follow up album titled Cocked & Loaded. Next came the 2nd track from the same album, Sex Action then two songs from the sophomore release ' Never Enough and I WWanna Be Your Man. Throughout the night, LA Guns ran the gamut of singles from their catalog, touching on the strongest songs fans have responded to throughout their history. From the back of the room to the stage, attendees raised their horns and sang along, one fan even getting personal with the band was able to remove a cuff style bracelet from her arm and put it on Lewis' wrist with gratitude, which he responded to with thanks from the stage, wearing it for the rest of the show.

The band is now on tour, independently, and has scheduled performances across the US that will showcase a series of talents that also come from the same era of the band's years in scoring radio airplay. Throughout August and September, LA Guns will share stages with artists including Ted Nugent, Cheap Trick, Winger, The (London) Quireboys, Enuff Z'Nuff, Great White, Sebastian Bach (Skid Row,) Warrant, Queensryche and Trixter. A good look at the summer of 2014 begs one to ask ' 'What the hell year is this, wherre hard rock is the biggest thing taking the concert scene by storm?' Fans, it seems, are just grateful for the return of music that feeds their hungry hard rock hearts.

Keep up with the band and the upcoming tour dates by visiting the official website at, or on the social network through Facebook and Twitter. All links are available on the band's website.

BANG YOUR HEAD Tour - Show Report

Tuesday, July 29, 2014

Quiet Riot's Brings the Bang Your Head Tour and so much More
From Joe Dolan in LA...

It seems that for years, fans of the MTV Headbanger's Ball generation have been crying out for the return of hard rock music, big name tour packages and the songs of yore that rattled speakers and made parents scream 'Turn That Shit Down!' The Summer of 2014 has done more than calm the masses, it's riled the troops and brought fans out from all points on the map to welcome the one thing they've been begging for ' it's the Bang Yoour Head Tour featuring Gilby Clarke (Guns n'Roses), the BulletBoys, Faster Pussycat and one of the busiest bands today playing legendary music that marked an era ' Quiet Riot triumphantly headlining.

The tour launched in Southern California with three show dates that instantly spiked FM radio interest as well as magazine mention and has continued on with dozens upon dozens of shows scheduled across the United States throughout the summer. It's been over three years since Quiet Riot announced they were reassembling, after the passing of front man Kevin DuBrow, and touring was just the start of it. Through the diligent work of drummer Frankie Banali, a key member of the band's career history, the result has become an all-star line-up that brings the music of the legendary band back to fans in the fashion hard rock has always been delivered, that is ' Loud and Proud!

On bass guitar, Quiet Riot features Los Angeles bassist Chuck Wright, the man behind the low end of Quiet Riot's signature song Metal Health and as featured on the band's album titled QR III, which scored number 20 on the US Billboard Hot 200 in 1986. Wright was also a founding member of 80's era staples, Giuffriaand House of Lords and has performed on top selling albums for artists including Impellitterri, Doro Pesch (alongside Tommy Thayer of KISS), Matt Sorum(Guns n' Roses), Stephen Pearcy (RATT), Saints of the Underground (with Jani Lane) and the hit-list holiday issued discs by Northern Lights Orchestra that brings together some of the most prominent artists in the hard rock realm.

Quiet Riot's guitarist is Alex Grossi, an artist who has both appeared and recorded with a multitude of star acts including Adler's Appetite, Bang Tango and alongside former Quiet Riot vocalist Kevin DuBrow during the years he performed solo as well as on the 2006 Quiet Riot release titled Rehab. Grossi's repertoire includes having written with key artists including Jani Lane (Warrant), Dizzy Reed and Gilby Clarke separately (both of Guns n' Roses fame) and has recorded on more than a dozen high profile projects.

Lead vocals for the band might have been a hard sell on fans, as the world is well aware of the unique high end and out front style that was signature to Kevin DuBrow and that led a generation of teens to develop a movement of hard rock revelry that continues to exist today.  Truth be told, there are few who could do more than just sing along, but who could actually do justice to the original songs as recorded by DuBrow himself. Enter front man and media sensation Jizzy Pearl, formerly of Love/Hate and having performed with bands including RATT and Adler's Appetite. Pearl's well respected range, stage performances and ability to be creative on the fly made him the most suitable option for doing more than just recreating a recognized sound; it brought a new life to the band that has since spawned a new generation of fans that continues the legacy of what some media outlets have referred to as a cornerstone in the foundation upon which the MTVgeneration was built.

All of this creates a show of it's own, but the Bang Your Head Tour features the above mentioned circus of talents as just the headlining slot. As captured by music journalist Joe Dolan during the performance at the World Famous Saban Theatre in Beverly Hills, it was a long toss back to the era of distorted guitars and driving drumbeats from the minute the curtain went up until Quiet Riot took the stage.

Opening the show was multi-instrumentalist, singer and songwriter Gilby Clarke alongside E.J. Curse, the founding bass player from the band Silent Rage.  TheGilby Clarke Band, performing as a trio, knocked the ball out of the park with seven stellar songs that tied the sound of 80's hard rock in to the blues laden solos that tickled attendees of Guns n' Roses shows throughout the Use Your Illusion tour. Never failing to play the fan favorite, Tijuana Jail, the band warmed the audience and brought the stragglers in to their seats to see exactly how rock and roll is played on a big stage.

Next on stage was a band that has weathered the tide of genre changes in music, the BulletBoys, who scored two songs in the US Main Rock Charts in the top 30's in 1989. The band had just released a new single off their forthcoming full length release titled Elefante and received airplay on a major market FM station in San Diego that morning with the first official on-air spin of their tune just hours before show time. This tour reunites singer Marq Torien with fellow founding member, bassist Lonnie Vencent as well as supports the new CD release. Over the course of 40 minutes on stage, the band introduced their new track and ran through some fan favorites including the chart topping Smooth Up In Ya that attendees demanded and sang along with note for note.

When Faster Pussycat took the stage, it wasn't a far cry at all from the show that took the glam metal era by storm in the late 80's. Though the band featuresTaime Downe as the only original member, it's his nasally drone that the audience has connected with on hit singles including Bathroom Wall and the US Main Rock charting song House Of Pain that was replayed consistently in 1990 on MTV. The audience crowded the stage with iPhones and cameras when they performed and during the hour they stomped around on the raised platform, attendees were witness to a set list of songs that for the most part, they knew by heart.

By the time Quiet Riot took the stage, the show had already proven, beyond a reasonable doubt, that hard rock was back and touring with a vengeance. This alone, however, is only part of the news that has grabbed attention of Quiet Riot fans in 2014. Earlier in the year, Frankie Banali announced the release of the anticipated film titled Now You're here, There's No Way Back. The film features a deep and intrinsic look into the facts related to the history of the band and it details key moments that many long time fans weren't aware of, as well as documenting the moments that made them a celebrated band and secured their place in the history of American hard rock.

Adding to a year that has re-established the band, just before the start of the tour, Quiet Riot released a new album featuring six tracks with Jizzy Pearl on vocals and four previously unreleased songs from live performances featuring Kevin DuBrow. Titled 10, the album became available on June 27th, 2014 to rave reviews. It marks the next chapter in the career of these artists that have entertained millions worldwide for decades, and celebrates the achievements of Kevin DuBrow, one of rocks finest front men, a stellar songwriter and an artist who was consistently at the top of his game.

Follow Quiet Riot online at their official website to learn about the tour coming to an area near you, to purchase the new album 10 or to find out when you can own a copy of the new film.

NOW What?! was originally released in North America in April 2013 via earMusic / Eagle Rock Entertainment. The album marked the next great chapter in the band's 40+ year career, blending the classic 70s Deep Purple spirit with modern production and a progressive mindset. Having reached #1 in Germany, Russia, Czech Republic and Austria, charting Top 5 in 7 countries and Top 10 in 10 countries, not to mention hitting the British Top-20 for the first time in 20 years, Deep Purple celebrated with the release of NOW What?! Gold Edition earlier this year, which included additional songs and a live bonus disc.
In anticipation of their return to North America, Deep Purple will release their next single to radio: 'All The Time In The World.'
Blazing off the success of NOW What?!, Deep Purple is ready to bring the sizzle to the States this summer!

With a heavy heart I must announce some major changes to the MelodicRock Fest 4 event.
Those that know me know that I’m an honest, straight talking person, so in keeping with that, I’m not going to BS anyone or try and spin this any other way.
The facts are that ticket sales for MRF4 have been extremely disappointing. I take full responsibility for that and will take the time to consider the various reasons for that.
I believed 100% in the line-up that was presented to all, giving die-hard fans the opportunity to see many names otherwise not possible. But, it just hasn’t been a good enough response to allow the festival to go on as announced. As stated, I take full, humble responsibility for that.
I know there are some that will delight in this news and have a field day with it. Let their response to the news reveal their true character.
I will use this test of my character to make an impossible situation workable as best as humanly possible.
The idea of cancelling this event outright was not an option in my mind. That would have been the easier option I’m sure, but with many booked to travel I could never do that. Instead  I’d rather try and salvage an event worthy of keeping the MRF name and spirit.
I have spent several days talking with artists, the venue and everyone involved and believe that we have a plan to move forward with. It’s a plan that keeps the integrity of the original event and I think still delivers in the face of adversity.

The event is now planned to be 2 full days instead of 3. With great regret, the Sunday portion on the weekend must be cancelled and several bands removed from the line-up. Friday and Saturday will be longer to compensate.
I'm extremely sorry to have to bring this news to you. To lose one band from the event hurts, but several for this reason really stings.
At the same time as all this has been going on, there has been ongoing problems with the all-star project Lost Angeles. To put it simply, that project is no longer and therefore they will not appear at the event. See below for a statement from Eric Ragno.
But all is not lost, Eric will still be at the event with Stan Bush and Talon and we’ve decided to bring the marvellous Gary Moon along for the ride, so he could pop up just about anywhere all weekend.
I originally planned for The Poodles to swap from Sunday to Saturday, which they wanted to do, but a prior gig booking in Sweden will prevent that from happening. It is with deep sadness that the guys declare that despite attempts to change that booking, they cannot make MRF.

The 100% double-confirmed and definite revised line-up for the 2-day MRF4 event will be:
7th Heaven
Stan Bush
Work Of Art
Johnny Lima
Grand Design
Maxx Explosion
Madman's Lullaby
The Radio Sun
Mitch Malloy
Heaven’s Edge
Tango Down
Paul Laine
Bombay Black
House Of Shakira
Sadly also removed from the event are: LRS, Degreed, Shooting Star, Crossing Rubicon, Loud Lion and Romeo Riot. All artists have been very understanding and supportive and I thank them for being a part of the original event.
Ticketing Changes:
With the MRF weekend now missing a Sunday schedule, a number of changes have been made to ticketing.
All current ticket holders have been emailed and offered full refunds if so desired.
GA tickets which were priced at $65 will now be reduced to just $20. Those with tickets for Sunday can get a full refund or use their ticket for either Friday or Saturday or both days if so desired.
No further 3-day tickets and VIP Passes are being sold. Those holding those tickets have been emailed with information on some additional perks.
To everyone that has purchased tickets this event is taking place because of YOU.
I am hugely disappointed that a greater number of people haven’t seen MRF in the same light as myself and those involved in the show and those with tickets already.
This is a tough blow to deal with, but once again I thank those that do support, MRR, the artists, this crazy business and this show and other MRF events in the past.
Eric Ragno: “We received word tonight that due to scheduling and family medical issues, both Paul Sabu & Jesse Damon will be unable to perform at the Melodic Rock Fest.  I'm genuinely stunned - we had our first rehearsal scheduled for this week, we locked down a great drummer and the set list was just finalized.  Sadly, it's not meant to be.
I've played every MR Fest and several Firefests (usually with multiple acts), and I know what a disappointment it is when a band has to withdraw.  I've never experienced it this way until now, and honestly it just sucks.  On behalf of the band I offer my sincerest apologies to all of you, and especially to Andrew.  Lost Angeles was assembled specifically for the Melodic Rock Fest, where we planned to release our debut.  No Fest = No Lost Angeles.  Sorry gang...we gave it a good shot.
I would like to give special kudos to Gary Moon (Night Ranger) for stepping in and putting forth all of his positive energy - he's an incredible talent and a great friend, and I know that will continue on.  Gary was especially excited to be performing for all of you, and we will have to make that happen next time around.
That being said, I look forward to seeing you all at MRF where I will still be performing with Stan Bush, and my friends in Talon.  Come rock with us, won't you?”

Any questions or enquiries, let me know anytime.
Thanks as always,

The Jones Gang and Paul Young set to Rock the ISPS HANDA Ladies European Masters

The Ladies European Tour is pleased to announce that a superb line-up of musical entertainment will support this year's ISPS HANDA Ladies European Masters, taking place at Buckinghamshire Golf Club in Denham from 3-6 July.

Ticket holders will not only be able to enjoy the world class golf during the championship, but after play on Saturday they will be able to enjoy a live rock concert by The Jones Gang in the tented village. The Jones Gang features members of The Who, The Faces, Small Faces, Roxy Music, Foreigner, Bad Company and Thunder ' a line up which has shaped rock history.

Singer Paul Young will be a special guest joining The Who's Kenney Jones on drums,Foreigner's Rick Wills on bass, Steve Smith on keyboard as well as singer Danny Bowesand guitarist Luke Morley from Thunder.

'The main thing is that we have fun and we want everybody else to have fun and listen to a good band. That's what we achieved at Wentworth tremendously well. Even if people aren't watching the golf they can come in and watch the band.'Speaking ahead of their appearance at the ISPS HANDA Ladies European Masters, Rick Wills said: 'We're really looking forward to coming to the Buckinghamshire, especially now that we've done our first golf event, the BMW PGA Championship at Wentworth. I think the setting at the Buckinghamshire is actually nicer because although the tented village at Wentworth was fantastic, it wasn't a very nice day, so hopefully the sun will be out and everybody can really have a good time. If it's a nice day people can have some entertainment, hang around, have a few drinks. It's such a lovely setting with the river and it's a superb place. When you drive in, it's like, wow!

The ISPS HANDA Ladies European Masters is the flagship event of the Ladies European Tour (LET) and well as the world-class golf, there will be plenty of entertainment and activities for all the family to enjoy. Every day there will be Q&A sessions in the tented village where spectators can pose questions to sporting celebrities, free golf lessons for kids and adults in the PING Swing Zone and free face painting over the weekend. Thursday is ladies' day when you can make a date with Strictly Come Dancing's Anton du Beke while Friday will be cocktail night.

Tickets for the concert, which will take place from 7.30-9pm on Saturday, 5th July, will be on sale at the gate for '15, but anyone who has spent the day watching the golf will be able to stay on and watch the gig free of charge. At just '20 for a one day adult entry ticket, it represents fantastic value for money and children under 16 will be admitted free of charge if accompanied by an adult ticket holder.

The Winery Dogs Return To Southern California
From Joe Dolan in LA....

Billy Sheehan, Richie Kotzen and Mike Portnoy kicked off the start of their tour with a So-Cal appearance at the Canyon Club in October of 2013 and it's been a continuous string of appearances at venues far and near since as the band has been around the world twice.  From the day the Winery Dogs CD hit the streets, fans have clamored to get a front row seat to see amazing skills of these top level artists taking the stage, and it was no different on Friday the 27th and Saturday the 28th of June, 2014.  Ticket sales were up, lines were formed and the super group returned to Los Angeles with two shows; Friday at the Saban Theater in Beverly Hills and Saturday at the Canyon Club in Agoura Hills.

The debut CD by the band marked a smashing freshman release by the band, selling more than 10,000 copies in it's first week and appearing on the Billboard Top 200 chart at number 27; easily establishing the effort as an instant success.  As critics immediately referred to it as a potential one-off and side project, as each member has an individual career, the band has proven the Winery Dogs to be much more than that.

Drummer Mike Portnoy shares, 'It's important for people to know, this isn't the one time one-off side project. This is a real deal! This is a real band for the three of us.'

Since Portnoy's departure from Dream Theater after 27 years on the throne of a band he co-founded in 1985, he's put his unique brand of drumming and percussion on projects including Liquid Tension Experiment, Transatlantic, Adrenaline Mob and Avenged Sevenfold.  As many projects are just that, projects that eventually expire, the Winery Dogs has provided an opportunity for Portnoy to truly showcase himself as a drummer, a songwriter and throughout the songs, even a vocalist.

The show has developed since their first appearance together in October 2013.  The set list offers a few new songs in the mix and keeps the performances fresh and exciting.  Throughout the night, members featured a solo on their respective instruments as well as Kotzen performing a solo acoustic song and playing the piano.  Portnoy also added a personal touch, coming down from behind the kit with a pair of sticks and playing microphone stands, the edge of the stage and assorted equipment on the front of his drum kit.

The set list was planned as follows:

01. Elevate
02. Criminal
03. We Are One
04. One More Time
05. Time Machine
06. Damaged
07. Six Feet Under
08. Hey Joe
09. The Other Side
10. You Saved Me
11. Not Hopeless
12. Doin' What The Devil Says To Do
13. My Love Is Alive
14. I'm No Angel
15. The Dying
16. Desire
17. Oblivion
18. Regret
19. Shy Boy

The band mixed around the set list and kept fans guessing with surprise and delight.

The tour continues with two more California dates up the coast in San Francisco and Oakland and over to the UK, Germany and the Netherlands before returning to the US for the East Coast leg of the tour.

For the most intimate experience available with the band, they are hosting a 4-day event called Dog Camp in Big Indian, NY from July 21st through the 25th.  Details are available on their official website.

Heaven and Earth to Embark on a European Summer Tour

From Joe Dolan in LA:

Continuing the epic struggle of a hard rock legacy during a time of one hit wonders and the stage escapades of artists like Miley Cyrus proves the strength of well written and well performed rock music, especially when that music is Stuart Smith's Heaven and Earth.  The third installment of Smith's all-star, high energy and deeply rooted classic rock style is showcased in 2013's acclaimed release Dig, and the wave of critics' hoorahs continues to grow throughout 2014.
British guitar legend Stuart Smith was highly visible performing with the band Sweet, making appearances on stage over the years alongside friend and fellow guitar hero Ritchie Blackmore and in the studio with top draw recording artists including Richie Sambora (Bon Jovi), Glenn Hughes (California Breed), Joe Lynn Turner (Deep Purple) and Tony Franklin (Blue Murder) to name a few.  On the album Dig, Smith enlisted the skills of Chuck Wright on bass (Quiet Riot), Richie Onori on drums (Sweet) and Arlan Schierbaum on keyboards (Joe Bonomassa) to record the music and he chose the most sought after voice in the LA rock scene, Joe Retta; a singer and multi-instrumentalist that has recorded and performed on stage with every major act that has played through the southwest corridor of the US.  The result is a landmark album, produced by Dave Jenkins (Metallica, Tower of Power), further establishing the dominance of Smith's songwriting power with Heaven and Earth.
The first appearance of the Dig line-up drove throngs of music fanatics and industry professionals to line the street at the Fonda Theater in Hollywood for a show packed with the insane genius of Chuck Wright's stage design, compiling a carnival-like atmosphere with an unending supply of food and drinks, onstage music performances including song stylist Dilana and joining the band for the first live installment was Ed Roth on keyboards.  The venue packed to capacity and the band immediately followed the show with a video release for the song No Money, No Love, ranking well over a quarter-million views online in just the first month.  Few bands in the genre had stirred this music interest in a release since days long gone by and Heaven and Earth was just getting started.

The band lined up a second show at the world famous Canyon Club in Agoura Hills, CA and released a follow-up video for the song I Don't Know What Love Is, developing a film-like trilogy portraying a story that builds from the characters in the first video release.  Like the days of old when MTV reigned as the world's strongest entertainment video channel, Heaven and Earth was recreating the magic that lured fans to the table to witness a complete package.  With an amazing album release, strong supporting video content and mind-blowing stage shows, Heaven and Earth had arrived triumphant.

In 2014 with Quiet Riot booking tour schedules bassist Chuck Wright had to make a decision, departing from Heaven and Earth to maintain the supreme bottom end of the time tested rock legends alongside Frankie Banali and drummer Richie Onori was called to his own projects that would take time out of Heaven and Earth.  Longtime friend and artist appearing on earlier releases from Heaven and Earth, Tony Franklin, would perform with the band at the Canyon Club while Smith undertook the task of replacing the original line-up with powerhouse artists capable of maintaining the originality of the band.  This came in the form of drummer Jackie Barnes (Steve Morse), keyboardist Ty Bailie (Ego Band) and bass player Lynn Sorensen (Bad Company).

'I'd come off tour and bought a new house in Los Angeles,' Ty Bailie shared.  'I put an advertisement up in a local music store offering keyboard lessons and Stuart called me.  It was a rare opportunity and I was glad to take it.'

During the week ending on Friday, June 20th, Heaven and Earth wrapped up tour rehearsals for the European Summer Tour in North Hollywood.  Music Journalist Joe Dolan was invited to witness the magic of the new line-up melding into a music machine, finalizing the stage show and getting ready to offer the UK a chance to witness what the hype is all about.  The planned dates are as follows:

June 26th Birmingham, UK O2 Academy
June 27th Glasgow, UK O2 Academy
June 28th Newcastle, UK O2 Academy
June 29th Sheffield, UK O2 Academy
July 1st Liverpool, UK O2 Academy
July 2nd LONDON, UK O2 Academy
July 5th Montrose Jazz Festival Music In TheThe Park
July 6th Uden, Holland De Pul ul Live
July 8th Munich, Germany The Ga Garage Deluxe
July 10th Ingolstadt, Germany Eventhallalle Westpark
July 15th Bilston, UK TheThe Robin II
July 16th Southhampton, UK 'The Brook
July 17th York, UK - Fibbers
July 18th Wakefield, UK Warehouse II
July 19th Bournemouth, UK Mr. Kyps
July 20th Aberbeeg, UK Steelhouse Rock

The set will undoubtedly feature improvised solos and rare showcases from each of the individual artists performing their passions with each of their instruments, but an inside view of some songs fans can look forward to hearing includes a number of tracks from Dig along with tracks fans know from the bands catalog.  Rehearsals included:

- No Money, No Love
- Victorious
- House of Blues
- Man and Machine
- Rock and Roll Does

and upwards of a dozen and a half songs that will create a show well over an hour in length and guaranteed to satisfy.

To learn more about the 16 planned shows, other dates as they are added and how you can purchase and own an official copy of the latest CD Dig or other albums from the band's catalog, visit the official website and follow the band on the social network at the following links.
