Big Audio Dynamite opening for U2 in Mexico City in 1993.
Everybody were sleeping while those guys were playing for more than one hour.
When they finished... we woke up!

Aerosmith on the "Rock in a Hard Place" tour. They were so wasted that I actually felt sad for them. They sounded awful. Pat Travers blew them off the stage. Also, Van Halen on the "1984" tour. I could barely recognize what song they were playing. I don't think that they could either!

Alice Cooper - Lace and Whiskey Tour.
I really really love Alice, but to watch this is just sad.

Not exactly AOR - but Shane McGowan in Oslo some years ago...First number, band starts playing, Shane comes stumbling in sideways from the wings, grabs the microphone to start singing, opens his mouth...and vomits like Niagara before plunging down into the photopit. Band stops playing; "Thank you goodnight!"
Shortest gig ever.

Alice In Chains in Melbourne, Australia. Pathetic!
24/05/04: Lloyd Robbins - pinehurst@charter.net
Stephen Pearcy (of Ratt fame) with the band Arcade at Milwaukee's Summerfest years ago told the crowd to more or less f*ck off and fell over the stage monitor at least once.

Van Halen at the Glasgow Apollo in 1980. Dave lee Roth was so drunk all he could do was swig from what looked like endless bottles of wine. He didn't sing many songs that night but did tell us constantly how many "chicks" he had fucked since becoming a star. It's the only concert i've ever been at where everyone sat down all through the concert then booed the band off at the end

1993 Megadeth in Eugene, OR...Mustaine OD's and goes to the hospital for 10 days. I was there and the story is told on VH-1's Behind The Music.
27/01/04: Sam - sjo00200@creighton.edu
Yngwie was drunk off of power and left a few band mates stranded somewhere. As a result, I never saw a concert.

Motley Crue @ Maple Leaf Gardens in Toronto(1987),the performance was terrible, the most entertaining part of the show was Tommy Lee's revolving drum kit, they did covers for their encours. But the best part was they had to come out after Whitesnake who were in top form & really showed "The Crue" for the buffoons that they were/are.
17/11/03: STH - sth&panda@telus.net
Shannon Hoon from Blind Mellon tried to piss on us in the front row when they opened for G'N'R. Drunk ass got himself arrested...
21/10/03: Fer - steiger@planet.nl
Pete Way, in Brussels, Belgium, Waysted opening act for DIO, completely off the world, singing 'Too hot to handle '..,while the band was allready off stage, walking like a sick duck on stage, throwing down complete Marshall-stacks, threatening monitormen, he was far out......
21/10/03: Manfred - werger@westbrabant.net
Phil Mogg of UFO, European Tour 1983, his constant drinking almost killed him as UFO caused complete riots in Eastern Europe, never seen anybody so far away from reality, sitting on stage for more than fiteen minutes without singing one verse of the thrilling songs, turning somersaults to escape from flying beercans...horrible !
12/10/03: Mike - mikael.hagstrom@bracke.mail.telia.com
Without contest a gig played by Toto under the name Da Pinga at a small club in Stockholm, Sweden 1988. Borrowed gear, more beer and alcohol on stage than in the audience... and Joseph Williams as high as you can get without passing out. And the worst bit is that they sounded real damn good (all exept joe)!!

van halen at the us festival. dave and eddie were both very drunk.
17/09/03: The Shed - info@the-rocker.co.uk
Hanoi Rocks at the Edinburgh Calais Palais in 84(ish). Nasty Suicide was so wasted he spent the first 15 minutes sitting on the drum riser before nodding out and beiong carried from the stage by a couple of roadies. Oddly enough, he is currently studying at the Dept. of Pharmacology at the University of Helsinki.

This one is easy<G> Hank Williams Jr.. 2 hours late, couldn't talk much less sing, and tried, for about 30 mins before he got booed off stage.

Schenker with UFO at Bradford (UK) in late '90's. He was 'well out of it' but played like a demon...probably the best guitar performance I've ever witnessed.
07/03/03: Daymond - quigoncain@hotmail.com
Tesla, Great White (in particular) and Badlands tour in 1989ish, and yet they all kicked ass, well except for Jack Russell who fell down occasionally...

GUNS N ROSES HANDS DOWN
26/10/02: alllister - mattulery@futurec.net
The Jane's Addiction "Nothing's Shocking" tour in 1989 was up there. I saw them in a small club in Phoenix - Perry climbed on top of a speaker & tied a rope around some supports in the ceiling, and nearly hung himself.
13/10/02: Seandeep - Seandeep@yahoo.com
Aerosmith - the first incarnation
25/09/02: Lynchomaniac - Lynchomaniac@hotmail.com
Well it isn't live but the worst I can think of is Scott Gorham & Phil Lynnot on Thin Lizzy's Chinatown video. It really saddens me to say this, since I absolutely love Lizzy! But it's no pretty sight!
19/09/02: jace - jace5150@aol.com
AEROSMITH in the 70s
14/09/02: Frank - 4homer@rogers.com
Guns & Roses In Toronto backing up Iron Maiden
Slash was so drunk he couldn't stand up and Axl lost his voice into the first song.
They sucked big time

Best- THE CULT Melbourne Australia ELECTRIC tour
Worst - Alice In Chains (a crap band anyway!)
31/08/02: Prog-head - discosuxs@hotmail.com
Yeah, right: Alice in Chains - "Dirt tour" - Oslo - Norway. Sometime in the 90`s....
I got drugged just by looking at the guys..."Know me broken by my Master..." This band really LIVED the lyrics all the way...
30/08/02: Ty - Rokkaholik@hotmail.com
I'm not sure if it was drugs or alcohol, but when Guns'N'Roses toured with Metallica in the early 90's, they really sucked major ass. Slash was of in his own little world playing "God Knows What" Axl sounded like some chick had his balls in a vice and poured gravel down his throat. I wasn't a Metallica fan, but they blew GNR off the stage.
28/08/02: Steve - matheson@hotmail.com
Alice in Chains opening for Van Halen in Toronto, Canada. They actually laid on the stage whilst playing and the guys from VH came out to kick them off!
