The Poodles are back! And this time they are going all in! "Clash of the Elements" is the band's third effort and it is clearly an album that aims at an international break-through. This time around the band worked with some of the giants in the music industry including legendary producer/engineer Mike Fraser (Aerosmith, AC/DC, Led Zeppelin, Whitesnake), to mix the album and there's no question The Poodles are shooting for the stars with this one!
The band formed in the fall of 2005 and six months later they participated in the Swedish leg of the Eurovision Song Contest, which led to the band's big breakthrough in their native country. The debut "Metal Will Stand Tall", climbed to the top of the Swedish charts and the first single "Night of Passion", went gold after only three weeks and platinum not long after. The band did over 100 shows in Sweden to support it during 2006. In early 2007 "Metal Will Stand Tall" was released outside of Sweden and the band toured all over Europe with HAMMERFALL and KROKUS, doing 31 shows in 18 countries.
"Seven Seas", the first single from their follow-up album "Sweet Trade", was written together with famous actor Peter Stormare, known from the TV-series "Prison Break" as well as from big-time Hollywood productions like "Jurassic Park" and "Minority Report". On the song "Seven Seas" he portrays the pirate "Black Sam" who sings a duet with the band's lead singer Jake Samuel.
"Sweet Trade" was released in late 2007 and the second single "Streets of Fire", became the band's biggest seller to date by going double platinum. Shortly after the release Poodles headed out on yet another tour over Europe, this time together with Swiss hard rockers GOTTHARD. The response from crowd and organizers alike made it possible for the band to head out on their own headline tour in the spring of 2008 with 17 sold-out shows throughout Europe. 2008 also saw The Poodles participating a second time in the Swedish Eurovision Song Contest and they proudly accepted the invitation to record and perform the Official Swedish Theme Song for the Olympic Games in Beijing 2008.
Big things are in the making for The Poodles during 2009. The band is currently on tour all over Sweden until the early fall. On August 28 "Clash of the Elements" will be released by Blistering Records throughout Europe and the promotional preparations are already in full swing. A full-scale European tour is also being booked as we speak.
