The new, improved Fireworks #74 went down VERY well, and new 132 page issue #75 is even BETTER. This issue is packed with awesome female rockers, with ex-Nightwish vocalist Tarja discussing not one, but two upcoming new releases. We also hear from legends Doro Pesch and Lita Ford, along with the likes of Erika, Blues Pills, Lacuna Coil and Scorpion Child.
For a trip down memory lane, Dave Reynolds gives us a three and a half page feature on the wonderful Witness, with all new interviews with Debbie Davis and Joey Huffman. Dave also supplies this issue's 'Take 5', looking back on releases which he feels should have been way more successful than they were.
Elsewhere we have the first print interview with Darren Wharton on the new Dare album, which sees Vinny Burns return to his rightful place at Darren's side, supplying the tasteful guitaring that only The Viper can!

And also interviews with Joe Lynn Turner, Ace Frehly and a detailed chat with Punky Meadows as he discusses his debut solo album as well as the Angel days. Plus Jorn, Dan Reed Network, Vega, Chris Ousey, Q5, Kissin' Dynamite, The 69 Eyes, Frost*, Ted Poley, Phantom V, The Jelly Jam, Iron Saviour, Haken, Paul Gilbert, Royal Republic and oh, so much more.
Amongst the features are The Expert's Guide: Mark/Marcie Free and a four-page 'Unsung Hero' in-depth look at the career of Robin George.
Add this to the most extensive and detailed reviews around PLUS a free CD featuring 78 songs, and you REALLY have way more hard-rocking melodic metal than you could shake a reasonably sized stick at.
Magazine will be at shops on Thursday 16
th June.  As regards mail order, due to fact we'll be away from Wed-Mon next week, all pre-orders will go out on Tuesday 14th.
Pop on over to and place your order now.  You KNOW it makes sense!

Release Year:
Guitarists LITA FORD and JENNIFER BATTEN  join Mitch for episode 209 of One On One With Mitch Lafon.
In the show's first interview, LITA FORD discusses her new album TIME CAPSULE, Gene Simmons, BLACK SABBATH's Tony Iommi, and more.
Quote from the LITA FORD interview:
Discussion about Black Sabbath's Tony Iommi starts at the 12.22 mark.
TONY IOMMI (time 12.37): "We called him and gave him the opportunity to respond and he didn't. He chose not to call me back."
(12.50) "Was I scared to write it? No, people are abused. I was devastated to find out that my hero was one of them. I was sick over it. That's not what superheroes are supposed to be like."
(13.57) - "He hurt me in many ways. He almost killed me. Sorry, it was Tony Iommi."
(14.35) - "Can I look back at him and say, 'He's a great guitar player? He's the Riff Master.  Do I love Black Sabbath?' Yes, of course. He is the riff master. I loved Black Sabbath and still do. You've got to separate the music from the personal life."
New album TIME CAPSULE (time 1.08) : "It's a collection of songs, I've had through the '80s and they're great songs."

LITA FORD Unlocks 'Time Capsule' April 15

Friday, April 15, 2016

feat. Gene Simmons, Billy Sheehan, Jeff Scott Soto, Dave Navarro & Rick Nielsen
American vocalist/guitarist Lita Ford is set to release her latest album Time Capsule on Steamhammer/SPV on 15 April 2016.
The very special and unusual recording turns back the clock to a time when honest, down-to-earth rock music was still handmade and recorded without digital tricks and contraptions. Time Capsule is a ”throwback” record that boasts identifiable voices and brilliant players jamming without any planning or pressure. Some of the album`s highlights: Billy Sheehan (bass), Rodger Carter (drums), Dave Navarro (mandolin), Jeff Scott Soto (vocals), Rick Nielsen and Robin Zander (backing vocals) and Gene Simmons (bass).
“There was a shitload of these 24-track analog tapes in the closet in my house (in the islands),” Ford recalls. “This is some of the best work I`ve ever done and it was sitting there. I grabbed two suitcases and took them back to the United States.” Imagine Ford dragging a pair of suitcases full of analog tapes through the Caribbean dirt back to Los Angeles, so, as she recalls, “we could bake these fuckers,” due to their age. “If you just put them on the reel, they would flake. I was chewing my fingernails, thinking, ´Please work!` And they did!”
Time Capsule contains ten songs plus intro and will be available as a digipak as well as an LP version and download. It`s Ford`s gift to fans who love the ´80s, when thrilling vocal performances, raunchy riffs, and loud, growling guitars were as essential as oxygen.

1. Intro 1:35
2. Where Will I Find My Heart Tonight 04:47
3. Killing Kind 04:49
4. War Of The Angels 05:44
5. Black Leather Heart 03:33
6. Rotten To The Core 04:21
7. Little Wing 03:01
8. On The Fast Track 03:41
9. King Of The Wild Wind 05:04
10. Mr. Corruption 04:15
11. Anything For The Thrill 03:25

  • Every hour in the United States, someone is newly diagnosed with MS, an unpredictable, often disabling disease of the central nervous system.
  • MS interrupts the flow of information from the brain to the body and stops people from moving.
  • Symptoms range from numbness and tingling to blindness and paralysis.  The advancement, severity and specific symptoms of MS in any one person cannot yet be predicted, but advances in research and treatment are moving us closer to a world free of MS.
  • Most people with MS are diagnosed between the ages of 20 and 50, with more than twice as many women as men being diagnosed with the disease.
MS affects more than 400,000 people in the U.S. and 2.1 million worldwide.
