TOMMY HEART BIOGRAPHY

In 1982, the spark to Tommy Heart’s remarkable singing career was ignited while playing in a West-Berlin school band. It was his very first attempt trying to escape the ghetto in Gropiusstadt (part of Berlin) and establish an existence away from difficult everyday life.

Tommy’s youth was affected by the typical troubles of life such as delinquency, drug abuse, violence and the laws of the street.

A first real chance was given to him in 1988 when he signed his first contract with the renowned Heavy Metal label Noise Records – his band at that time: V2. When V2 blasted off with their first self-titled album, they soon found themselves supporting German hotshots and label mates Helloween who were at the commercial peak of their carreer having just released their hugely successful effort “Keeper Of The Seven Keys II”. Still on tour in Europe, Tommy was invited by legendary guitarist Zeno Roth and his band Zeno to put his vocal prowess to the test.

American label Geffen Records – home to many unforgotten rock heroes such as Elton John, Cher, Michael Bolton, Aerosmith, Nirvana or Guns N’ Roses – offered a future-proof collaboration.

This liason led to a great deal of showcases and brought the band in touch with American manager Tom Zutaut being personally responsible for the success of bands like Mötley Crüe, Guns N’ Roses and Tesla. Then in 1989, Zeno Roth suprisingly decided to back down from music business.

In the same year Tommy and the rest of Zeno’s band, Ule W. Ritgen and CC Behrens, laid the foundation for the exceptional Fair Warning. After recording a couple of demos the band received many offers from major labels and eventually opted for WEA. In 1992 the self-titled debut made quite an impact on the Japanese market which resulted in outstanding sales figures. The band even was invited to tour the land of the rising sun; something rather unusual for a newcomer band and, after all was awarded the „Brightest Hope Award 1992“ by the readers of Japanese metal bible Burrn!

In 1993 Scorpions guitarist Uli Jon Roth – one of the world’s most influential sixstringers – worked on a performance of the „Symphonic Rock For Europe“ concert. Roth accompanied the Symphonic Orchestra Brussels on guitar interpreting various classical pieces. For the concert that was eventually aired by WDR-Rockpalast, Tommy took over the role of the lead vocalist from Cream icon and frontman Jack Bruce at short notice. This collaboration later continued in form of the 1995 epic “Sky Of Avalon” and was welcomed by media and fans alike. Moreover, Tommy participated in a singing contest organized by Gillette. He was finally chosen from 300 contestants to sing their theme song „Gillette – für das Beste im Mann“. Thanks to Tommy’s distintive and unmistakable voice, sales figures skyrocketed. Nonetheless, Tommy stayed true to himself as he knew that an even bigger success was to follow: the second Fair Warning album “Rainmaker” sold 65.000 units solely on the day of release and went straight up the charts.

Two weeks later the boys from Hanover received a gold award – another successful tour followed shortly after. The 1997 follow-up “Go!” again went gold and won the poll for “Album Of The Year”. In Europe the band played live with big names such as Status Quo, C.C.R. or Saga and continued to expand their fanbase. In 1998 the amazingly executed live album “Live & More” was issued and the band once again toured Asia – an exceptional event in which Tommy again proved that he belonged to the ranks of the top singers and performers – just listen to the middle part of Fair Warning’s live classic “Don’t Give Up” which is sung without any musical accompaniment.

John Sykes on auditioning for Ozzy Osbourne (22.23): "He wanted to join Ozzy originally when Randy Rhoads died. In fact, we went out and bought all of Ozzy's albums and went back to our flat. We kept dropping them on the solos and John kept learning each solo. I even wrote his letter for him, 'Dear Mr. Osbourne. My name is John Sykes. I'm 24 years old. I would like to join your band."

Metallica (55.06) - 'We played with Metallica. It was their first ever show in the UK. I didn't know who they were. I remember my agent saying, 'You're going to play with Metallica.' At the time, I didn't know who the hell they were."

HEAVY TIGER Ready To Glam It Up In March

Glitter, the band’s sophomore effort and the logical sequel to their debut Saigon Kissis now ready to be launched to an unexpected crowd!

So, what can one expect from the Stockholm rockers? The first single, entitled Devil May Care was written for the band by singer Ola Salo of the Swedish pop/rock-phenomenon The Ark. With Devil May Care, this little Adam Ant-scented pop song is no exception.

The album is produced by Rikard Löfgren with Gustav Ydenius handling the recording duties at Leon Music Studios (Mustasch, Sparzanza, Sister Sin).

“We are super stoked about the new album. It’s full of hits! If you think that our previous album lacked heaviness you won’t be disappointed. We went in with full force this time around and the producers were involved in a whole new way compared to “Saigon Kiss”. The fact that we have gained experience and become a tighter band, definitely shows”. – Heavy Tiger

And thanks to their involvement in TUI's new TV commercial and the success of the song "Let The Sunshine In" (in writing at top 10 on ITunes Scandinavia Rock section) Heavy Tiger is at the moment receiving a great deal of attention as well as a lot of new fans.

While it might come in handy to mention Suzi Quatro, KISS, The New York Dolls or any other glam rock-act peaking in the seventies in the same breath as Heavy Tiger, the band isn’t about nostalgia. Something completely different came out since that faithful day in 2010 when Maja, Astrid and Sara, only being 17 at the time, started jamming out together.

Heavy Tiger - Glitter is set for release March 24 on Wild Kingdom records.

JUDAS PRIEST 10TH STUDIO ALBUM TURBO REMASTERED AS 3 CD REISSUE
TO BE RELEASED FEBRUARY 3RD 2017

British metal legends Judas Priest announce the reissue of their 10th studio album, Turbo.
The album has been remastered and will be released via Sony Music on February 3rd, 2017 on 3 CD (the original album and 2 bonus discs) as well as 1LP 150g vinyl.

Originally released in 1986, Turbo features all the hallmarks of classic Priest on tracks such as â€œTurbo Lover”, â€œParental Guidance” and â€œLocked In”.
Included on disc 2 and 3 of the CD reissue is, previously unreleased,  ‘Live in Kansas City’, a live recording from the band’s 1986 Fuel For Life tour in support of Turbo.

The band add â€œThe 80’s is considered to have been the best decade for heavy metal – Judas Priest roared through it and at the half way point went into unchartered territory with ‘Turbo’.  Always believing that metal should have no boundaries, Priest challenged themselves taking on board new technical inventions to create fresh ideas and push their sound forward.  The combined songs show another side of Priest’s range of creativity that captures a theme and energy infused with the over the top sensibilities of that era.  The ‘Fuel For Life’ tour certainly encapsulated the decadence of the times! ‘Turbo’ remastered and accompanied by a pedal to the metal live recording from Kansas reveals Priest on high octane – Raising fists and devil horns to the next level.”
