Dallas, TX - December 15, 2015. North American syndicated Rock radio show and website InTheStudio: The Stories Behind History's Greatest Rock Bands pushes the button on the thirtieth anniversary of Power Windows, the mid-Eighties million selling album from Rock and Roll Hall of Famers Rush that fully adopted an evolving sound complete with synthesizers and string arrangements.
1981's Moving Pictures had catapulted Rush to international stardom while capping off what was the classic '70s era Rush. 1982's Signals would signal the end of their longtime relationship with producer Terry Brown, and by 1985 Rush would take a new approach to the studio, with producer Peter Collins pushing the band to rethink everything, with spectacular results.
Rush lyricist/ drummer Neil Peart saw an uncanny number of socio-political issues to write about with songs like 'The Big Money', 'Manhattan Project', and 'Marathon' while guitarist Alex Lifeson would breath new life into his guitar parts, stretching and creating news sounds for every new composition.
As bassist/vocalist Geddy Lee expresses to InTheStudio host Redbeard, Power Windows initially sounded like a silly name for an album, but it soon stuck.
'The album is about power ,the power of big business, of money. The power of government. The power of love in 'Emotion Detector'. The power of dreams. So we wanted to have that in the title somehow, but all of the titles sounded so corny... At one point we were going to call the album Windows, but it sounded too jazz -like. Nobody thought of Power Windows because it sounded so silly at first. It sounded like a joke. And the more we thought of it, the more we liked it. ' - Geddy Lee
"I absolutely recommend it to people like myself who love catchy choruses, ripping grooves, powerful melodies and mesmerizing solos. Without saying another word, Conquer is by and large the perfect musical package this year for me and that really says a lot."
- New Noise Magazine (5/5) -
"The true meaning of "Conquer" is that Halcyon Way has struck a chord of near perfection with an infallible modern metal sound."
- Metal Underground (4.5/5)
"12 high-caliber songs decorated with catchy choruses, huge hooks, chugging riffs and soaring vocal harmonies."
- BraveWords (8/10)
"Album Of The Month" - "their crowning achievement...one of the more unique bands in metal"

Atlanta, Georgia's HALCYON WAY are about to hit the road with the legendary Queensryche for a month-long USA tour to support their Billboard-charting 4th album, Conquer. The tour starts on January 7, 2016 in San Jose, CA and continues their string of high profile tours in the USA & abroad with bands such as Saxon, Skid Row, Fates Warning, UDO, Delain, and Fozzy. The tour runs through February 4th in Salt Lake City, UT, a complete list of dates is below.
Conquer hit the shelves to universal critical acclaim in August of 2014 and the band has performed on three continents since then to promote its release. The lead single, "Web Of Lies" spent 6 weeks on the CMJ Hard Top 10. Conquer was produced by guitarist Jon Bodan and Lasse Lammert (Alestorm, Gloryhammer), who has mixed all of the band's releases.
Check out the video for the song "Web of Lies" HERE.
"HW is super excited to hit the road in the USA again to support our Conquer release, and to be able to go out with Queensryche, who are an all-time favorite band of mine, is incredibly cool. The guys are on a huge upswing with their new album, and we're proud to help them kick off their touring season for it."
Guitarist Jon Bodan about the upcoming tour:
"HALCYON WAY have been looking for another great tour to get onto for USA to support the Conquer release, and getting to go out with Queensryche for a month is going to be an amazing experience. 'Operation:Mindcrime' is probably my favorite album of all time and I consider these guys to be a big influence on my playing & writing style. So we're really excited about getting out there in front of our fans again in the USA, and also for hitting the road with Queensryche. Then as soon as we get back off the road, we're going to get back to work on our 5th album, which is mostly written already." The band recently started pre-production for the follow-up to Conquer and plans to hit the studio in Spring of 2016. KILLROCKSTAR & SOUNDWORKS PRESENTS ~ BUCKCHERRY - Australian & New Zealand Tour 2016
One of rock's great bands, Buckcherry will return to Australia and New Zealand this March.
Led by Josh Todd, a man who personifies rock n roll and anchored by guitarists Keith Nelson and Stevie D, drummer Xavier Muriel and bassist Kelly Lemieux,
Buckcherry will deliver a night of straight up good time rock and roll.
It’s going to be loud, it’s going to be sweaty, it’s going to be awesome!
Buckcherry have released seven full length albums of pure, unbridled rock since forming in 1995. Their latest, simply titled Rock N Roll sums up the bands ethos perfectly.
Rock and roll should make you want to do a few things, says Keith Nelson, “It should make you want to drive fast, fuck and dance”
And that it does, Buckcherry uphold the unwritten commandments of rock music:
Riotous energy, sexy swagger, primal chops and a lifestyle that can’t be switched off. They know no other way.
From their self titled debut album way back in 1999 which delivered unto the world anthems such as Lit Up and Dead Again, to 2006’s 15 which featured Crazy Bitch and Sorry,
to the infamous Fuck EP (where each song had everyones favourite F word in its title), and included the live staple Say Fuck It,
Buckcherry have the songs to make you move. And on album number seven, opening track Bring It On Back has the riffs and refrain of another BC classic.
Buckcherry will hit town soon.. oh yeah, you want it.

Jon Levin (Dokken, Doro, Warlock) discusses his life and career on this week's Double Stop Podcast. From his early days and bands, to his first big break with Doro (Warlock) with the Force Majeure album and tour. We also discuss why he turned his back on music in the 90’s and became a lawyer, and how (over a couple of years) he landed the lead guitarist gig in Dokken. We discuss his 3 Dokken studio albums in depth (Hell To Pay (2004), Lightning Strikes Again (2008) and Broken Bones (2012), plus what the future lies for Dokken and possible recording plans.
On Dokken’s recording plans 60:00 "What we’re talking about is not doing a record, but maybe doing an EP, and then some videos. Three songs, or four songs and then a video for each song. And that makes a lot more sense to me.”
On his first time in the studio with Dokken (recording solos - a few years before he actually joined the band pre Reb Beach) 23:00 “The two songs were The Maddest Hatter but it was a different version of The Madddest Hatter, a slower version. Not the up-tempo version we now have today. And then “The Irish Song” (released as a bonus track for Long Way Home”).
On the recording of Broken Bones 50:20 “Loved it. The most fun of any record we’ve made. Loved it. Don and I purchased identical recording studios. Identical computers, identical pro-tools everything.”
German label PRIDE & JOY MUSIC reveals the release date for TAINTED NATION and the band’s second release “On The Outside” will hit the stores on February 26, 2016!
Tainted Nation comprises of five musicians who have all in their own right been involved in world tours, festivals and recordings. Boasting members and ex-members of Helloween, Firewind, King Diamond, The Poodles, Eden’s Curse, Lionsheart and others. This line up has so far released an acclaimed debut title F.E.A.R, which hit like a hammer across the loins of Rock music. Possibly a slightly unexpected direction taken in this hard hitting commercial slice of music, the album has helped Tainted Nation to move forward at a rapid pace. With live appearances in the UK and Europe, including festivals and a hugely successful tour of Spain. All of these received some great reviews.
On 26.02.2016, Tainted Nation is looking forward to the release of their follow-up album entitled “On The Outside”. This record was recorded in Tewkesbury, UK and Stockholm, Sweden, and produced & mixed by Pete Newdeck. Pontus Norgren of Hammerfall has co-written the tracks “Live And Die”, “Karma” and “Back To Earth” and provided a couple of guest solos, Nick Workman (Vega) appears as backing vocalist on the track “On The Outside” and Issa is performing a duet with singer Pete Newdeck at “Pulling Me Under”.
Line-up: Pete Newdeck (vocals), Mark Cross (drums), Pontus Egberg (bass), Ian Nash (guitars), Joel Peters (guitars)
Frontiers Music Srl is pleased to announce the release of the highly anticipated second album from the Melodic Progressive Metal masters LORDS OF BLACK on March 18, 2016.
LORDS OF BLACK is the band formed by world class singer Ronnie Romero, renowned guitarist Tony Hernando and monster drummer Andy C.
Their vision was to form a Metal band with a modern approach blended with catchy, melodic and progressive elements. After months of intense and hard work on the songs, the band independently released their acclaimed Self-Titled debut which was co-produced by Roland Grapow. Metal Hammer Spain deemed it “The Best Metal album released in Spain this year.”
The band supported the release with a series of very successful live shows, some of them as “very special guest” for high profile international acts. Then the news of Ronnie Romero joining the new incarnation of RAINBOW broke out. This brought the band to the attention of the international media and in particular the words from Ritchie Blackmore, describing Romero’s voice like “a cross between Ronnie James Dio and Freddie Mercury” piqued the curiosity of rock journalists and fans alike.
However, now LORDS OF BLACK are ready to conquer the world with “II”, an album which will blow the minds of fans of Modern Melodic Metal. Once again co-produced, mixed and mastered by Roland Grapow (MASTERPLAN, ex-HELLOWEEN), “II” is not only the follow up to their outstanding and acclaimed debut album, but is an album with superbly crafted songs that will instantly become absolute Metal classics. “The new album, being the follow up to a first record that was so greatly received, had to get to a higher place.“ says Tony Hernando. “After an intense year of writing and producing, along with the live performances, we came up with songs that are still deep and complicated in some arrangements, but have been written with the live performance in mind… The quest was to come up with something that artistically was meaningful for us as musicians and at the same time could catch the attention of the listeners. We really hope you enjoy this new album and come with us for a great ride!”
Tracks like “Merciless”, “Everything You’re Not”, “Insane”, “New World’s Coming” and “Shadows of War” showcase the heavy and complex yet very melodic style of the band. The song “The Art of Illusions Part III: The Wasteland” is the conclusion to the trilogy that commenced on the debut album, while the song “Cry No More” is inspired and dedicated to the late, great, Phil Lynott.
This is a band destined for stardom: get on board now and enjoy the music!
“II” Tracklisting - Malevolently Beautiful (Intro); Merciless; Only One Life Away; Everything You’re Not; New World’s Comin’; Cry No More; Tears I Will Be; Insane; Live by the Lie, Die by the Truth; Ghost of You; The Art of Illusions Part III: The Wasteland; Shadows of War; Lady of the Lake (Rainbow cover, bonus track cd edition) / Innuendo (Queen cover, bonus track digital edition).
