OPERATION MINDCRIME Release 'The New Reality' December 1

Frontiers Music Srl To Release Operation: Mindcrime's “The New Reality” on December 1.

“The New Reality” is the third and final chapter in the musical trilogy from iconic metal vocalist Geoff Tate (Official) that follows a little over one year after the release of the second chapter, "Resurrection", in 2016 and about two years after the first chapter, "The Key". Operation: Mindcrime is a creative platform that continues in the spirit of the historic album of the same name, spawning concepts as grand as the music, and intertwining the intensity of the former Queensrÿche vocalist's iconic past with the provocative, progressive mindset that has made him one of music's most resolute forces and frontmen. Joined by a cast of musicians, Kelly Gray, John Moyer, Simon Wright, Scott Mercado, Scott Moughton, Brian Tichy, & Mike Ferguson, whose talent and resumes speak volumes for the quality of musicianship that will be on display here, “The New Reality” is a another fine progressive rock/metal entry from Tate.

Geoff Tate sold more than 25 million records at the helm of Queensryche, the band he fronted for 30 years from their inception through 2012, earning three Grammy nominations, five MTV Music Video Award nominations, and one MTV Music Video Award along the way. The landmark concept album "Operation: Mindcrime" thrust Tate's unique social consciousness, style and expertly crafted lyrics into the national spotlight in 1988, and was followed by "Empire" in 1990, the album that delivered Queensryche to arena-headlining status and sold more than 3 million albums on the back of hit singles and radio staples, "Silent Lucidity" and "Jet City Woman." By the time the band released "Promised Land" in 1994, Geoff Tate was universally acknowledged as one of the greatest frontmen in rock and metal, and a driving force behind one of the most innovative bands in mainstream music. From "Operation: Mindcrime to "Promised Land" through 2009's overlooked gem "American Soldier" - Tate's ambitious concept album that explores the consequences of war as told through the voices of veterans - Tate's 13 album tenure with Queensryche was marked by exploration, intrigue, bold risks and gratifying results. “The New Reality” carries on that musically adventurous tradition.

R.I.P. AL FRITSCH (Drive, She Said)

Another unbelievably sad loss to the melodic rock community. Al Fritsch, the vocal force of Drive, She Said has passed away.

This - from his bandmate Mark Mangold

"Time to focus and try to say a few words...though they can't suffice, because there are people here on FB who care. Numb.
To know Al was to love him... and be loved in return.
If you didnt know him and only heard his amazing voice, or virtuoso musicianship on guitar, keys, bass or any instrument he touched, you were moved... he was a force of nature. Never a mean word, an amazing father, husband and friend to many. If he saw all the appreciation, love and respect coming his way he'd be laughin'. Yes he made our music come to life, but I did records just to hang with him and behold his talent. FUN. Everyone who knows him feels lucky and enriched for having him in their life. His absence is incomprehensible. He was young. This was not supposed to have happened. Now the hard part... living without him..."

RIP Al...

As U.S. rockers MASS begin work on their long awaited new studio album, frontman Louis St. August will be providing exclusive updates - text and audiio - from the process. Here's entry number 1!

"Okay so it's been seven years since our last release but it feels more like "Seven Days"! Well, it does take time to make a new baby, right? And boy do we have a new arrival for you. 🙂 No really, every band says the same old cliche when releasing a new record... "This is the best record we have ever done!" LOL! I can promise that it will be an absolute MONSTER!! With thunderous guitar riffs, soaring solos, catchy vocal melodies, all tied in with a powerful and tight rhythm section, it will surely make this another MASS classic!

It has all the makings of a MASS album that everyone has come to expect and love from us over the years. You will have your fast rockers, mid tempo tunes and a few power ballads highlighting once again Mass' versatility. The new album is tentatively titled, "When Two Worlds Collide" and we are excited and look forward to our 8th studio album release, and third on the Escape Music label, due out sometime later this year. We can't wait for you all to hear it and hope that it ROCKS your World before they Collide!"
