Lots planned, lots to come....

MAGNUM New album LOST ON THE ROAD TO ETERNITY
20th studio recording out on 19 January 2018
Duet with guest vocalist Tobias Sammet on the title song

The release of their latest album Lost On The Road To Eternity sees British hard rock band Magnum celebrate a very special anniversary on 19 January 2018. It will be the 20th studio recording by the group surrounding founder members Bob Catley (vocals) and Tony Clarkin (guitar) since their 1978 debut Kingdom Of Madness. At the same time, Clarkin, Catley and bassist Al Barrow are set to introduce their current line-up featuring new additions Rick Benton (keyboards) and Lee Morris (drums). Benton joined the Magnum camp in December 2016 to replace long-standing member Mark Stanway, while Morris took over from Harry James only a few months ago.

Lost On The Road To Eternity contains eleven new songs, among them the first single release ´Without Love` and a duet by Catley and Tobias Sammet on the title track, a kind of artistic thank you by the Edguy /Avantasia frontman in appreciation of Catley's guest stint on a number of Sammet's releases.

The release will once again be complemented by Rodney Matthews' atmospheric cover artwork as well as a total of four live bonus tracks on the CD digipak version (´Sacred Blood – Divine Lies`, ´Crazy Old Mothers`, ´Your Dreams WWon`t Die` & ´Twelve Men Wise And Just`) recorded at Magnum's 2017 performance at the Leyendas Del Rock festival in Alicante, Spain.

Lost On The Road To Eternity has been scheduled for release by Steamhammer/SPV on 19 January 2018 as digipak version incl. bonus live disc, 2LP coloured version, download and stream.

October 20, 2016 - Legendary rockers FOREIGNER have been universally hailed as one of the world's most popular rock acts with 10 multi-platinum albums and 16 Top 30 hits that continue to propel sold-out tours and album sales, now exceeding 75 million. Now they're getting ready to embark on a brand new journey into the literary world with A Foreigner's Tale, the band's first-ever official biography that will be available in various formats, including a limited edition.

Produced in conjunction with Rocket 88 Books, it tells the story of FOREIGNER in the words of founder, guitarist and producer Mick Jones. It will only be sold via Foreignerbook.com where fans can register their interest in the book NOW and be sure of getting a copy when it is published in 2017. Registration is not a commitment to buy, but will ensure fans get the information on the book first, a pre-order discount and the chance to have their name printed in the book.

Sumptuously illustrated throughout, A Foreigner's Tale tells the story of how FOREIGNER became one of the world's most successful rock acts, and also traces Jones' personal and musical path to forming the band, from his childhood in England in the 1950s through to present day. He tells funny, revealing and intriguing stories, beginning with his remarkable early musical career with Nero and the Gladiators in London, and in France with Sylvie Vartan and Johnny Hallyday in the 1960s (including a tour with the Beatles). From there, he describes working with some great musicians (among them George Harrison and Jimmy Page) before joining Leslie West and then Spooky Tooth in New York ' where Foreigner first took shape. Rare, early, personal, candid, studio and live photographs illuminate this extraordinary story, along with FOREIGNER artwork, memorabilia and Jones' personal record and guitar collection.

Coinciding with the release of A Foreigner's Tale, FOREIGNER--Mick Jones (lead guitar), Kelly Hansen (lead vocals), Jeff Pilson (bass, vocals), Tom Gimbel (rhythm guitar, sax, vocals), Michael Bluestein (keyboards), Bruce Watson (guitar) and Chris Frazier (drums)'will head out on a world tour throughout 2017 in celebration of their 40 years as a recording, touring band. Details will be announced in the coming weeks.

Responsible for some of rock and roll's most enduring anthems including 'Juke Box Hero,' 'Cold as Ice,' 'Feels Like The First Time,' 'Urgent,' 'Head Games,' 'Say You Will,' 'Dirty White Boy,' 'Long, Long Way From Home,' and the worldwide #1 hit, 'I Want To Know What Love Is,' FOREIGNER continues to rock the charts more than thirty years into the game. Recent albums like Juke Box Heroes, a new compilation of digitally recorded Foreigner hits, and The Best of Foreigner 4 & More, recorded live from The Borgata, Atlantic City, both entered the Billboard Top 200 chart.  Foreigner also featured strongly in every category in Billboard's recently released 'Greatest of All Time' listing.  Catalog sales often eclipse those of Aerosmith, The Rolling Stones, The Who, Def Leppard, Van Halen and most of their Classic Rock peers (Source: Nielsen SoundScan 2/11/16 - 2/3/16).

Bryan Adams: ‘80s Rock Star, 90’s International Phenomenon Syndicated Radio Show In The Studio Celebrates 25th Anniversary Of Waking Up The Neighbours

Dallas, TX - Oct 19, 2016.  North American syndicated Rock radio show and website In The Studio with Rebeard: The Stories Behind History’s Greatest Rock Bands celebrates the 25th anniversary of the sixteen million seller Waking Up The Neighbours from Bryan Adams.

After becoming one of the Eighties’ biggest stars with the 1984 # 1 album Reckless, Bryan Adams actually topped that feat with his 1991 blockbuster Waking Up The Neighbours, spawning five hit singles including the theme song “(Everything I Do) I Do It for You” from the international mega-hit film Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves. It landed him on top of the UK singles chart for a record-setting sixteen consecutive weeks!

But capturing lightning in a bottle twice with Bryan Adams’ Eighties creative team proved difficult, working an entire year on dozens of songs only to scrap it all. Plan B?. Bryan brought  in fresh ears and new blood into the recording studio with the addition of veteran producer Mutt Lange (AC/DC, Def Leppard, Cars). In The Studio host Redbeard asked Bryan what it was that moved him to bring Mutt Lange in as producer.

“One thing I noticed about all the records he’s made, with The Cars or with AC/DC or with Foreigner, was the vocals sounded great. Once I started working with Mutt I realized Mutt in fact is a singer himself, so to be able to work with someone that can sing is quite a good thing for a singer, because it pushes you to do better.”

CHICAGO guitarist KEITH HOWLAND guests on Ep. 268 of One On One With Mitch Lafon.

Link To Interview: https://www.spreaker.com/user/talkingmetal/1on1-mitch-lafon-268-chicago-keith-howla

In the show's only interview, Chicago's Keith Howland discusses the band's enduring legacy, touring with Earth Wind & Fire, making new music, guitarist Terry Kath, the Rock N' Roll Hall Of Fame, his outside project 'Button' with The Doobie Brothers' John Cowan & Ed Toth (the band was formerly known as Secret Agent Orange) and much more.

QUOTES from the interview:

The current tour with Earth Wind & Fire (time 1.46): "It's quite the spectacle. The closing thirty minutes of the show (the six song encore with both bands) is worth the price of admission alone. The rest is gravy."

Terry Kath (time 4.17): "Terry was one of my earliest influences maybe with Tony Peluso of The Carpenters. His solo on Goodbye To Love was one of the first rock guitar solos I ever heard."

(time 4.37): "My older brother brought Chicago II home. His drum instructor wanted him to check out Danny Seraphine. It was so cool, so diverse and so musical. We were fans from that point forward and Terry's guitar playing..."

Joining Chicago in 1995 (time 6.09): "It took my awhile to get over the 'pinch me' aspect. The audition was really surreal - when Robert Lamm started to sing I almost stopped playing because I was so flabbergasted that Robert Lamm was standing four feet away from me singing."

'Button' with The Doobie Brothers' John Cowan & Ed Toth (time 27.18): "It's really cool stuff. It's vocal pop but there's definite jam band elements. It's real organic. The record should be out before the end of the year."

Rock N Roll Hall Of Fame/ Peter Cetera talk starts at 20.45
