APPICE Sees Carmine & Vinny Join For Debut Album Together

The two legendary drum brothers Carmine (Rod Stewart, Ozzy Osbourne, Blue Murder, King Kobra) and Vinny Appice (Black Sabbath, Dio, Last In Line) are recording their first ever studio album together this spring under the name APPICE.

'After decades in this crazy music business, we will sit down for the first time and record songs TOGETHER for an amazing new studio album! The album will feature both new songs and classic tracks from our history! This is very exciting for us as we will have, as Ringo said, 'A Little Help from My/Our Friends'. With that in mind, the result will be great sounding spine-shaking rhythmic foundations, along with BIG giant melodic guitars from hell, and on top, blazing vocals and melodies that will tear it all up! A first in a lifetime for us brothers!" say Carmine and Vinny.
 
Expect some great friends/guests to contribute to this album including Joel Hoekstra (Whitesnake), Paul Shortino (Quiet Riot, Rough Cutt), Johnny Rod (WASP, King Kobra), Craig Goldy (Dio), Tony Franklin (The Firm, Blue Murder) and members of Last In Line among others.

Carmine says: 'I am so excited to be doing this new Appice CD. It is always a challenge and fun doing music with Vinny. This CD is no exception and we will be doing cool songs with double drumming and lots ear candy for our fans, not to mention playing with some of our special friends. The recording process is coming out great. Cannot wait to finish and take it on the road! Heavy drums and heavy songs. It will kill!'
 
Vinny adds: 'A studio album that was years in the making has now come to life! Our first ever studio CD together. With great songs, musicians and of course drums and rhythms that will overwhelm your ears and fascinate your mind!'
 
Olly Hahn (Head of Steamhammer) says: "It's an honour to welcome these legendary drummers to the Steamhammer family. Be prepared for an album filled with great musicians and a lot of drum wars!!!"
 
The yet untitled studio album will be released in October 2017 through SPV/Steamhammer as CD digipack, double gatefold vinyl, download and stream.

ALICE COOPER ANNOUNCES WORLDWIDE SIGNING TO earMUSIC TO RELEASE NEW STUDIO ALBUM PARANORMAL ON JULY 28
 
earMUSIC is proud to announce the worldwide signing of legendary shock-rocker Alice Cooper.
 
Paranormal, Alice Cooper's new studio album and his first in six years, will be released on July 28, 2017 on earMUSIC as 2CD Digipak, 2LP, Limited Box Set, and Digital.
 
The 12-track album has been recorded in Nashville with long-time collaborator Bob Ezrin and features a very special bonus CD — a mini-album consisting of three brand new songs written and recorded together with the original Alice Cooper band members Dennis Dunaway, drummer Neal Smith, and guitarist Michael Bruce, alongside carefully selected live recordings.
 
Paranormal also features special guest appearances by U2's Larry Mullen Jr., ZZ Top's Billy Gibbons, and Deep Purple's Roger Glover.
 
Alice Cooper will be touring extensively this year in support of Paranormal, visiting cities in the U.S., Europe, and Australasia.

MASON HILL Debut To Arrive In 2018

Frontiers Music Srl is excited to announce the signing of Glasgow based hard rockers Mason Hill for a multi album deal!
 
The band are truly a hot property right now! From winning the Highway To Hell UK battle of the bands competition, appearing at Ramblin' Man Fair, Hard Rock Hell and supporting Inglorious - this is a group very much in demand! Speaking of Inglorious, Mason Hill will open for them at their Inglorious “II” album release show at Islington Assembly Rooms next Friday, May 19th. This will be Mason Hill’s first appearance in London.
 
The Scottish quintet's blend of classic meets modern hard rock results in a batch of uncompromising riffs accompanied by anthemic sing along choruses and stadium friendly ballads. Their high energy live shows impress wherever they play, and they display the swagger and confidence of a band that has being doing it for decades.
 
The band was originally formed in 2013 by two school friends, vocalist/guitarist Scott Taylor and lead guitarist James Bird, with drummer Craig McFetridge being the first to join the ranks. After a few personnel changes, bassist Matthew Ward settled into the role in 2015, with guitarist Marc Montgomery completing the current line-up in 2016 - allowing Taylor to concentrate solely on vocals.
 
Mason Hill spent the next few years "learning their craft" on stages up and down the UK touring circuit. This included some high profile shows supporting the likes of Graham Bonnet (ex Rainbow), Snakecharmer (feat. ex-Whitesnake, Thunder, & Wishbone Ash members), Toseland and Marco Mendoza (Whitesnake, Thin Lizzy, Ted Nugent, Dead Daisies).
 
In December 2015, the band released their debut E.P, the self titled 'Mason Hill', featuring four tracks that highlighted exactly why this band are turning heads - outstanding songs that demonstrate a maturity far beyond their years. Recorded at The Foundry Music Lab with Sandy Jones (Wet Wet Wet) in the producer's chair, the E.P has been critically acclaimed amongst the music press and fans alike.
 
The band says, "We are so happy to announce this record deal with Frontiers and we can't wait to share in the opportunities that it will present us. We are absolutely thrilled to be hitting the studio later in the year to begin recording our debut album."

ANGELWINGS Launch Debut Album June 23

ANGELWINGS were born in April 2013 out of a group of experienced musicians that had been in the Gibraltar local music scene for some time and who had played in different bands a wide variety of musical genres.
 
Initially, to get together as a band it was decided to perform a number of covers from Finnish symphonic metal sensation Nightwish. Soon it became clear to all that original music would have a very considerable element of orchestration. Thus, ANGELWINGS became the first symphonic metal band from Gibraltar.
 
It is in October 2014 when the band starts to write their original material.
The first (demo) track titled "Wonderland" was posted on YouTube in January 2015 and attracted attention from local media and internationally on social media. Two more demos have followed since, "Memories" and "Forbidden Love". These have enjoyed wide acceptance and support, and have increased the band's exposure. These tracks have had air time on radio stations in Argentina, Spain and the UK. "The Fallen" and "Lilith" also premiered in Argentina.
 
In June 2015 ANGELWINGS supported Heavy metal legends Saxon at the "Hard n Heavy" festival in Gibraltar. In September 2015 they performed at the Gibraltar Music Festival where Kings of Leon and Duran Duran were headliners.
 
These ANGELWINGS tracks have been on air by genre specialized radio stations throughout Europe, North and South America and elsewhere.
After numerous offers from record labels from around the world, the group signed with Pride & Joy Music from Germany. The debut album titled "The Edge of Innocence" was recorded at Angelwings Studios in Gibraltar and produced by ANGELWINGS. ANGELWINGS will release its debut album "The Edge Of Innocence" on June 23.

May 10, 2017 -- Guitarist, singer, songwriter, and producer FREDDIE NELSON first came to international attention in 2010 when he collaborated with guitar virtuoso Paul Gilbert (Mr. Big) on their album, UNITED STATES. Together they wrote, performed, and produced the recording that was released on Mascot Records and toured Japan and Europe shortly after.
 
Flash forward to 2017 and it’s now time for Pittsburgh’s FREDDIE NELSON to SHAKE THE CAGE with his self-produced debut solo album, due out July 7. The album’s first single, “Hey Doll,” will be available at all digital retail outlets starting Friday, May 12. The album will be available for pre-orders starting May 19 on iTunes, which will include an instant gratification track. Pre-orders for CD copies will be available on his official website the same day.
 
We live in an age where reality shows create superstars and the technology that once revolutionized music has become the crutch of the creative process. In an oversaturated industry where anyone can be discovered, we have lost sight of the unseen magic that embodies iconic musicians. The music of FREDDIE NELSON is here to remind us of that magic.
 
“The record is called SHAKE THE CAGE, because I feel that a lot of music has become one dimensional with tools such as pitch correction and formulated songwriting.  There is no substitute for hard work and honing your craft, and it’s time to challenge mediocrity,” NELSON says.
 
With unprecedented attention to detail, SHAKE THE CAGE is truly a solo effort. All of the writing and producing was done by Nelson as well as all of the musical and vocal performances, with the exception of drums performed by the legendary Thomas Lang (who has played with Peter Gabriel, Kelly Clarkson, John Wetton and countless others). It was mixed by Rob Hill of X Music Studios in Los Angeles, CA and was mastered by Maz Murad at Metropolis in London, England.
 
SHAKE THE CAGE is a collection of eleven hook driven rock songs displaying NELSON’s impressive four octave vocal range and notoriously ferocious guitar playing. Intertwining elements of punk, pop, and blues, he has the uncanny ability to weave memorable melodies alongside intelligent lyrics to create a body of work that appeals to the masses.
 
“I let my instincts guide me,” NELSON explains, “and this album is the result of living in the moment.”

As in past years, the 2018 cruise will also feature optional pre-cruise parties in Miami on the evening of Friday, February 9th and Saturday, February 10th (details TBA).
 
The cruise goes on sale tomorrow (5/10) at 12 Noon EST, with cabins starting at $1,199 per person (double occupancy). SLAUGHTER vocalist MARK SLAUGHTER has released the first and second of a series of in-studio videos discussing and previewing tracks from the upcoming album 'Halfway There', in stores May 26 via EMP LABEL GROUP/AMPED, in Europe via EMP/SPV, and in Japan via Universal Music Japan/EMP out on May 10th, 2017.

Episode #2 features Mark discussing and previewing the album track "Supernatural", and tells the touching story of how a lost guitar belonging to late Slaughter guitarist Tim Kelly found its way home to make a guest appearance on the track and can be viewed here: https://youtu.be/uy9ntN2yfnY

'Halfway There' was produced and co-mixed by Slaughter with John Cranfield (AFI, Andy Grammer), with art by famed horror/album artist “Mister” Sam Shearon (Rob Zombie, Iron Maiden, KISS, Clive Barker).
Slaughter has also announced his first solo show to support Halfway There, Thursday June 22nd at The Gramercy Theatre, (with support from KIK TRACEE vocalist Stephen Shareaux) where Slaughter will be backed by bassist Jaymi “PINKBASSMAN” Millard, Guitarist Mike Himmel (Bret Michaels, Dug Pinnick), and his former VINNIE VINCENT INVASION bandmate, drummer Bobby Rock.
Mark Slaughter will also stay busy on the road with his namesake band SLAUGHTER, who will also play several US dates through 2017, including a performance at ROCKLAHOMA May 26th.
