REVOLUTION SAINTS
ANNOUNCE HIGHLY ANTICIPATED SECOND ALBUM,
‘LIGHT IN THE DARK,’
OUT OCTOBER 13 ON FRONTIERS MUSIC SRL
AND RELEASE MUSIC VIDEO FOR TITLE TRACK

After the 2015 release of the self-titled debut album by REVOLUTION SAINTS--Deen Castronovo (ex-Journey, Bad English), Doug Aldrich (The Dead Daisies, ex-Whitesnake, DIO), Jack Blades (Night Ranger, Damn Yankees)—rock fans around the world rejoiced at the inspired musical offering. Those fans will, once again, have cause for celebration as REVOLUTION SAINTS will be releasing their second album later this year. Today, the band has released a video for the title track to the new album, which can be seen here:

LIGHT IN THE DARK is due out October 13 on Frontiers Music Srl. The album will be available on CD, CD/DVD Deluxe Edition (includes live bonus tracks on the CD and on the DVD, footage from the band’s first-ever live performance captured at Frontiers Rock Festival in Milan this past April, a “Making Of” mini-documentary, and music videos for “Light In The Dark” and “I Wouldn’t Change A Thing”), Vinyl, and as a special Limited Edition Box Set (includes the Deluxe Edition CD/DVD, 180g Vinyl, T-shirt (size L), poster, lithograph and sticker).

For LIGHT IN THE DARK, REVOLUTION SAINTS once again teamed up with producer/songwriter Alessandro Del Vecchio (Hardline, JORN), who was also behind the boards for the band’s debut album. Most of LIGHT IN THE DARK was recorded at Del Vecchio’s studios in Somma Lombardo, Italy, with additional recording taking place at Blades’ studio in Washington, Aldrich’s CasaDala studio in Los Angeles, and other countries all over the world while Aldrich was on tour with The Dead Daisies.

“This is a fun band!” exclaims bassist Jack Blades. “I think the fans are going to pick up on the excitement and the shear musical enjoyment we are having. It was great going to Italy to get the album started and film the videos, and the music speaks for itself.”

“’Light In The Dark’ is such a great song,” continues singer/drummer Deen Castronovo. “It was the first one we recorded. We ran through it a few times and nailed it in the first couple takes. We're so excited for everyone to hear this record. We're very happy with what we came up with and can't wait to bring it to everyone live.”

As guitarist Doug Aldrich proclaims, “I’m very excited about REVOLUTION SAINTS’ second record! First I want to say that it's because of huge support from the fans that RS2 happened. Thank you. If you liked #1, I think you'll love this one even more. It’s stronger, and a bit heavier in some spots. We tried a few new things and we can’t wait for our fans to hear it! There’s a very good chance we’ll finally get to play live and we’re currently exploring the possibilities of a tour. For now, get ready, because the album kicks ass and it's comin’ at you real soon!”

REVOLUTION SAINTS was born from the vision of Frontiers' President, Serafino Perugino, who for years had hoped to work on a project highlighting Deen Castronovo’s amazing vocal abilities. Having previously worked with all three artists on different projects on Frontiers, having Deen, Jack and Doug on board together was a dream come true for Perugino.

This time, with one album already under their belt, REVOLUTION SAINTS entered the studio to record the new album more familiar with one another and a clear understanding of where they wanted this to go. As with the first album, Castronovo’s superb vocal talents are in the spotlight on this release and deservedly so. Pretty impressive for a man who is most widely known for his incredible drumming talents. Jack Blades really needs no introduction at this point, but for those who have been living under a rock, his bass and vocal talents are well documented over the years through his work with Night Ranger, Damn Yankees, Shaw/Blades, and more. And, of course, a major feature is the fiery and intense playing from former Whitesnake and DIO guitarist Doug Aldrich, whose blistering guitar fretwork is on full display here.

LIGHT IN THE DARK builds off the classic melodic rock style of the debut, but fans should prepare for a somehow even more inspired set and a few (pleasant) surprises. Inspiring, uplifting, emotionally powerful, and thoughtful, this album WILL be the soundtrack to many a moment in your life.

The music media had a lot of praise for the band’s self-titled debut album:

“The 2015 eponymous debut album from rock supergroup Revolution Saints showcases the outfit's swaggering, guitar-based sound..Together, these titans of rock have crafted a soaring, lick-ripping album of classic '70s- and '80s-influenced hard rock.” -- AllMusic

“REVOLUTION SAINTS is what you should expect: sharply played, always harmonious retro hard rock...a classy, melodious and sentimental walk back to when commercial hard rock was king. An album like this in 1986 would've been an automatic chart burner and cheers to Blades, Castronovo and Aldrich for treating this moment like an automatic chart burner is imperative to their inner fabrics.” – Blabbermouth

“...a remarkable album full of winners.” – Rockrevoltmagazine

“The bottom line here is that Revolution Saints are a damn good band...This is just good music, well written, well sung and well played. Nice job guys!” – Classicrockrevisited

“These are uplifting, joyful songs and there is no brooding melancholy here. They are inspiring, positive and full of sunshine. Everyone involved is musically perfect and flawless...A fine addition to any music collection, Revolution Saints is well worth the investment.” – CrypticRock

“Revolution Saints are being dubbed ‘the musicianship to die for’ and one of the most interesting collaborations in the recent history of rock. Guessing by their first effort, there’s neither a pomposity nor an exaggeration to such statements. Revolution Saints is, to put it simply, an instant melodic rock classic standing up to reputation of all parts involved...what is perhaps the album’s strongest point is the material itself, 12 songs distinguished not only by the extraordinary performance, but also by the high quality songwriting. Intertwining soaring power ballads with fiery guitar-laden tunes, all of them embroidered with perfectly crafted melodies, Revolution Saints is not only a must for all Night Ranger/Journey/Whitesnake fans. It actually goes far beyond the musicians’ collective resumes with its catchy-yet-tasteful melodies and classic hard rock flavors.” -- Hardrockhaven

To all of the loyal REVOLUTION SAINTS fans, prepare to have your patience rewarded beyond your wildest dreams with this album! Understand this clearly, REVOLUTION SAINTS is HERE TO STAY!

World Exclusive:

Journey guitarist NEAL SCHON has reached out to former BAD ENGLISH band mate, vocalist JOHN WAITE about doing a "rough, vicious" blues project. Neal spoke exclusively to MelodicRock.com of news that producer Kevin Shirley had the idea for the project, to use "a lot of great singers", but having recently heard a new live video of Waite, was so impressed with how good he sounded, "insanely good", so reached out and the pair are talking.

As for a rhythm section, Neal says: "I haven't talked about who for drums or bass, but I believe Deen Castronovo would be great."

Yes he would!

So what of this week's drama surrounding JOURNEY? All good says Neal: "I'm having fun playing as always for my fans. Journey will tour for the next 2 months then we will have time to think away from each other."

Neal continues: "I'm working and pretty much finished with my new solo album 'Universe' featuring Narada Michael Walden. We will definitely play some gigs after the record release in the top of 2018. We are pretty much done now. It's all promising, but I'm not done with Journey. We, or I, have much more inside me to come out. I will follow my heart."

So there you are folks, a really interesting musical time ahead for Neal and a lot to look forward to in 2018.

A Statement From DEEN CASTRONOVO

Artist:

"Two weeks ago, I, Deen Catronovo, made a plea deal with Salem, Oregon prosecutors. I plead guilty to one count of coercion, one count of unlawful use of a weapon, two counts of assault 4, and 2 counts of menacing. Ref: Case #15CR23974 in Marion County Court."
"Anyone who witnessed the events remains adamant that my abrasive behavior stemmed from the fact that I was at a drug-induced psychosis level of intoxication at the time of the occurrences. Otherwise, I am an easy-going guy who loves being a father and a musician."
"After my Indictment in June, I completed a 75-day inpatient treatment program at the Hazelden Betty Ford Springbrook Center, the most comprehensive drug abuse treatment center in the State of Oregon. It was at Hazelden that I quickly realized how dire the situation had become. I made a vow to myself and my family to not only stay sober but to dedicate time telling my story, speaking to promote sobriety, being a good example to my sons and advocating for the rights and assistance of domestic violence victims. I hope by telling my story I can help prevent someone else from making the same mistakes I did."
"Taking into consideration that I have been able to stay completely sober since my Indictment in June as well as the fact that I have continued domestic violence and drug counseling without any difficulties, Judge Jamese Rhodes sentenced me to four years of probation. The probation requires me to continue the domestic violence and drug abuse counseling."
"At the sentencing I apologized to my ex-fiancé, Deidra, and her family for the hurt I have put them through. I continue to wish Deidra the best. I know Deidra is not at fault for my behavior nor the consequences I have suffered because of it. Again, I want to apologize to Deidra, her family, my family, my band-mates in Journey and the fans of Journey. I’m sorry I let you all down. I have hit my bottom and I’m taking the necessary steps to ensuring that this never happens again."
"As devastating as this was for me it was far more devastating to Deidra and our children. Had it not been for her calling the police and the intervention of the prosecutors I’d probably be dead.
I’m going to focus on my family, finding happiness in sobriety and helping others who might be going down the wrong path to avoid destruction. For now I’m taking it one day at a time and looking to discover what new path God has planned for me."

Deen Castronovo is lucky not to be facing jail time after pleeding guilty to domestic violence charges in court earlier today:

Journey drummer Deen Castronovo was handed a suspended sentence and four years of probation after pleading guilty to domestic violence crimes on Monday, Oct. 12.
Castronovo, 51, pleaded guilty to two counts of fourth-degree assault constituting domestic violence, two counts of menacing constituting domestic violence, unlawful use of a weapon and coercion.
If he violates the terms of his probation, a sentence of five years and five months in prison could  be imposed.

While on probation, Castronovo cannot enter into a romantic relationship without permission from his probation officer, use controlled substances or alcohol, contact the victim, leave Oregon or enter into any bars unless for employment purposes, among other things.
Marion County Circuit Judge Jamese Rhoades also required Castronovo to undergo counseling for domestic violence and drug abuse.

For the record - here is a post from Deen's ex-wife:

Shelly Baughman Castronovo writes:

I feel like the media has made people into sheep! The truth... Deidra Witmer the woman who accused Deen of these charges has had a pattern of of bad relationships. They pushed each other...yes...but she was on a flight to Cabo the day after the arrest. She was riding horses on the beach an partying 2 days after that. Deen was in a toxic relationship.
...he at the height of drug abuse...she...with 3 dui's. He did violate the no contact order due to drugs but she has been in fights with many...no prior issues with the law except with her. The same can not be said of her. I am tired of people villafying a man I have known and loved for 33 years...married for 10. He is the father of my son and another beautiful boy. PLEASE don't be so quick to cast the first stone! He was wrong in pushing her...she was wrong on pushing back!!!! He has a beautiful heart and has been clean for 104 days. Please don't judge what you don't know!

DEEN CASTRONOVO Denied Bail; Meth Addiction Cited

Release Year:
2015
Categories:

More disturbing news on DEEN CASTRONOVO's situation, with the drummer denied bail and meth addiction cited as influencing his behavior. It's not the first time he has fallen off the wagon and I hope he gets the help he needs urgently.

This from Houston Eagle:

The Journey drummer was high on meth and hallucinating when he was arrested two weeks ago and accused of misdemeanor assault and menacing, his attorney said Wednesday during a bail hearing.
Castronovo's attorney Jeffrey Jones asked an Oregon judge to set his bail at $50,000, saying he would be driven straight to a rehab clinic if released. Castronovo was released on bail after he was arrested June 14 and ordered to stay away from the woman who's accused him of raping her.

Despite the court order, prosecutors said Castronovo has texted the woman 122 times and called her 35 times since he posted bail, with his messages swinging between contrition and threats.
The 50-year-old drummer was booked into the Marion County Jail after a grand jury indicted him Monday. He now faces felony charges of assault, sexual abuse and unlawful use of a dangerous weapon. The indictment accuses Castronovo of having sexual intercourse with the victim "by forcible compulsion" between June 8 and June 14.

What Is The Status Of Drummer DEEN CASTRONOVO In JOURNEY

Artist:
Release Year:
2015
Categories:
News Feed

Drummer Deen Castronovo has been stood aside from his role in JOURNEY while he faces domestic violence charges in his home state of Oregon.

Some media outlets have been reporting that Deen has been ‘sacked’ or ‘kicked out’ of the band, replaced with Neal Schon’s Vortex drummer Omar Hakim for the current and upcoming Canadian dates.
But at this time, Deen remains part of Journey and his absence is currently only temporary.

The official comment on Deen’s status is “no comment”, but I can suggest that his arrest is being treated very seriously by the Journey camp. However, it is hoped that Deen is found innocent of the charges he faces and should that happen, his path back to the drum stood should be unimpeded.

Omar Hakim Tapped to Play Drums for both JOURNEY and NEAL “VORTEX” SCHON

NEAL “VORTEX” SCHON has been added as the special guest to JOURNEY’s upcoming Canadian tour, which launches Monday, July 6 in Winnipeg Manitoba with concerts scheduled through August 3 in St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador. This tour marks the first time the American rock greats perform a Canada-only tour, including markets in which band has never previously performed such as Penticton; Prince George; and Dawson Creek, British Columbia; and Lethbridge, Alberta. See below for a complete list of tour dates. Tickets are on sale now - visit www.journeymusic.com for complete tour and ticketing information.

NEAL "VORTEX" SCHON features Schon on guitar, Omar Hakim on drums, Rachel Z Hakim on keyboards and Jerry Brooks on bass. NEAL “VORTEX” SCHON will perform selections from Schon’s brand new, all-instrumental 2-CD album, Vortex, released June 23 through the Mascot Label Group. The albumfeaturing Neal Schon on guitars and bass, drummer Steve Smith, GRAMMY-winning keyboardist Jan Hammer, and keyboardist Igor Len - utilizes rock as its foundation, and embraces elements of jazz, classical and world music in an 18-track, sonically explosive collection of original compositions.  The music of Vortex came to life at Berkeley’s Fantasy Studios, Schon’s preferred spot for recording since Journey cut the 10-times-platinum number-one album Escape there in 1981.

Blazing hotter than ever with the lineup of founder Neal Schon (lead guitar and backing vocals), Jonathan Cain (keyboards and backing vocals), co-founder Ross Valory (bass and backing vocals), and lead vocalist Arnel Pineda (who was discovered by Schon), Journey has created some of the best-known songs in rock, such as “Wheel In The Sky,” “Separate Ways,” and “Faithfully.”  Neal Schon recruited Omar Hakim to play drums for Journey’s recent Hollywood Bowl Opening Night concert, the band’s July 4th performance in Provo, Utah, and the Canadian tour.

The Hollywood Bowl, one of the most iconic concert venues in the world, launched its 94th season with its 2015 Opening Night Concert featuring JOURNEY who performed with the Hollywood Bowl Orchestra and Youth Orchestra Los Angeles (YOLA), on June 20. The Bowl’s opening night is traditionally a fundraiser for the Los Angeles Philharmonic’s many education and community programs, which serve more than 150,000 youth, families and teachers every year, and this year it raised a record $1.6 million; the previous best was $1.4 million in 2011.
Following the Hollywood Bowl opener, and Hakim’s debut with Journey, Neal Schon stated, “I'm very happy I was able to bring Omar Hakim in to help us pull together a very elaborate and complex show at the last minute. It was a nearly impossible feat, and tall order for anyone, but with Omar’s musical integrity and talent, we pulled it off and had a blast! Glad to know I've still got the ears and now I'm 2 for 2: first was finding Arnel and now, recruiting Omar Hakim.”

Over the years JOURNEY has earned multiple accolades, including 19 Top 40 singles; producing 25 Gold and Platinum albums; and receiving a Diamond certification for its Greatest Hits album, marking U.S. sales in excess of 15 million. In 2011, they drew nearly a million fans to their Eclipse World Tour and was awarded the prestigious "Legend Of Live Award" at the Billboard Touring Awards in honor of their significant and lasting contributions to live music and the touring business, and in acknowledgement of their commitment to the fans and the art of performing live.

The group’s seminal anthem - “Don’t Stop Believin’” - is the top-selling digital catalog track inhistory, after being featured in the last scene of the electrifying series finale of HBO's ‘The Sopranos’  and then reaching another level of stratospheric success when it was covered by the cast of FOX's wildly successful series ‘Glee.’  Three decades after its original release, "Don't Stop Believin'” has reached a new generation of young fans welcoming this legendary band as it continues to bring its signature sound of classic hits around the world.

The intensely creative guitar giant, Neal Schon, has always had an innate ability to make glorious music. He began playing at age five and was inspired by soul vocalists like Aretha Franklin and Gladys Knight, and blues and jazz guitarists ranging from B.B. King Albert King, and Eric Clapton to Wes Montgomery. When Schon was just 15 years old, Carlos Santana invited him to join his band. Schon’s recording debut was on the classic 1971 album Santana III. He played the solo on the LP’s hit single,“Everybody’s Everything.” Recently Schon  completed the album Santana IV with Carlos Santana, co-writing songs and playing guitar. Additionally, Journey, co-headlined with Santana on Carlos’ recent homecoming concerts in Mexico.

Any project touting Deen Castronovo on lead vocals is going to get my attention and enthusiasm. To add Mr. Melody Jack Blades and the righteous Doug Aldrich turns a triple play into a home run.
Overseeing the project in man of the moment Alessandro Del Vecchio, adding his always brilliant keyboards, plus composing most of the songs and adding his deft touch to the production, which I think has to be his most accomplished effort yet.
‘It is a musician's record,' states Castronovo of the project. Indeed it is. There are a plethora of examples of exquisite musicianship from all throughout the record, none more so than Castronovo himself, who delivers a masters clinic on how exactly to play on a rock record with power, soul and finesse.

While I am somewhat hesitant to embrace superstar projects that aren’t born from a natural evolution of personalities and circumstances, this project totally makes sense and thanks to some amazing songs from Del Vecchio, delivers in spades.
Of course I’d prefer all three guys to be amongst the writing credits, but now this album is done and done so well, perhaps discussions about the next album will allow that to happen. And there sure will be a follow up to this. It’s just too good.

Back On My Trail is a dramatic album opener that rocks as intended. Upbeat and driven by a thumping beat and some hard edged, but melodic guitar riffs.
Deen bursts through the speakers with power and authority in his own natural tone, which is a combination of the sweet tone of Steve Perry and the power of Jeff Scott Soto.
He lets rip a few notes that simply stun. And his drumming is quickly simply insane. There are drum fills and progressive twists throughout the song.
A terrific guitar solo with numerous flourishes throughout shows what a master Doug Aldrich is, while Jack Blades’ bass truly thumps away.
The song itself is a powerhouse melodic hard rocker that sounds like Journey meets Night Ranger, but with the sonic edge that Doug brought to Whitesnake. Harmonies abound and the chorus is simple, but memorable and gets better with every listen.

Turn Back Time is co-written by Alessandro and Jack Blades and is an easy choice for the first single. The feel good anthemic and uptempo melodic rocker sees Deen and Jack share lead vocals, with Deen doing his finest Journey style melodies and everyone joining in to take the chorus over the top. Some more tasty guitar soloing and an infectious foot thumping beat makes the song a clear winner. Deen again is a monster on drums. How does he do it?

You're Not Alone sees Alessandro Del Vecchio’s piano opens the first ballad of the album. It’s only a matter of seconds before the power of this song is on display. Arnel Pineda and Deen share lead vocals in a very recent era Journey-esque track that features layers of keyboards and rich musical depth. It’s a big power ballad that reminds me heavily of the more dramatic songs off the LRS album (also written by Alessandro). It’s a big and powerful ballad where vocals are the emphasis and there’s plenty of them!

Locked Out Of Paradise is a monster melodic hard rock tune. It’s one of the heavier album tracks and is maybe the most powerful song I have heard Deen Castronovo appear on since Hardline. The drumming is stunning, while the vocals are pure Perry-goes-metal.
The chorus gets better and better and the song structure is such that it takes the classic melodic hard rock format, but modernizes it. Doug’s guitar playing is sublime from start to finish.

Way To The Sun features an acoustic guitar and a soulful vocal greeting the start of the next track. Another ballad? Not sure I’m ready for that, but that vocal! Then 1 minute in, the song bursts to life, with the full power of the band in action. The chorus is beautiful – harmony vocals, a powerful drum rip, an authoritative guitar riff. Neal Schon guests on the track with a typically soulful flurry of guitar chords that is pure Journey. The track continues building throughout, so by this time it’s in full epic mode, with vocals, guitars and harmonies. Beautiful track.

Dream On is a song written by Erik Martensson, with Johan and Kris Becker, Alessandro and Jack Blades. The combined collaboration works, as this is a brilliant pure melodic rock stadium anthem, with Deen sounding like a raspier Escape/Frontiers era Steve Perry.
The chorus is pure ear candy and the energy infectious. Erik Martensson’s writing influence here is undeniable. Melodic bliss.

Don’t Walk Away is another ballad and to be honest, at first I thought it was too early for another ballad, but once again, that fear is dismissed with the first note Deen sings. Wow, this guy has soul and passion that’s been kept hidden for too long.
The song starts as a soft piano ballad, with Deen and Alessandro featured together until the chorus sees a full band accompaniment. And what a chorus. A hit single in any other era.
A monster Alessandro song that is pure Journey. The end of the song is simply epic and some of the notes Deen hits are insane. This song features some big big vocals and a great guitar solo too.

Here Forever is another ballad, but like each slower track before it, it is different once again and stands on its own. It’s probably one ballad too many and it does make me question the sequencing of the album, but you can’t deny that the song is soulful, powerful and emotional. It’s more rock then ballad and Deen’s voice is outstanding once again. Definitely reminds me of Journey.

Strangers To This Life – it’s time to fire proceedings back up again. Deen goes full Perry for this moody rocker that might have sounded pretty comfortable on Journey’s Trial By Fire.

Better World is another upbeat melodic rocker that has a strong European feel and a good mix of Journey too. The verse and bridge-to-chorus is pure Journey, while the chorus is more Euro-melodic rock, with keyboards a plenty. Of course there is a tasty Aldrich solo and some rolling bass thumping from Jack. Alessandro takes a writing credit with Magnus Karlsson on this one.

How To Mend A Broken Heart is a ripping version of the brilliant Eclipse track. This has all the energy of the original and Deen sounds brilliant singing it. That rasp in his voice is a joy! For those that don’t know Eclipse, let this be an introduction to the fabulous Swedish band.

A sparse piano ballad to close the album. While another ballad might not be on the menu for some, In The Name Of The Father is a stunner almost worth the price of the album alone. Deen’s vocals send a shiver down the spine as just his voice and a piano deliver the first half of the song. There’s orchestral backing and then the full band chimes in. Truly a magnificent, epic ballad and the song itself (from Alessandro on his own) is brilliant. Steve Perry would be proud…

So there you have it folks. On paper, the lineup looks amazing and on record the guys deliver. More a product of Alessandro’s pen and production efforts, but the performances by the guys are what makes these songs come to life.
We’ve always known that Deen Castronovo is a freak drummer and an amazing vocalist, but this album propels him into the spotlight and he excels in both roles.
I’d love to see these guys hit the road, I can only imagine the setlist, but duties with their main bands will no doubt curtail any fan hopes.

Revolution Saints
is easily one of the most-anticipated new projects of 2015. The band features guitars by Doug Aldrich (Whitesnake), bass and co-lead vocals by Jack Blades (Night Ranger, Damn Yankees, Shaw/Blades) and drums and lead vocals by Deen Castronovo (Journey, Bad English). Last week the band released the video for the song 'Turn Back Time' which has been viewed almost 40,000 times. The video was directed by Devin DeHaven known for his work with Rick Ross, Whitesnake, Kiss and R. Kelly. The video can be seen here: http://youtu.be/KeZKAVUyKQc.

From the opening notes of 'Back On My Trail' to the piano outro on the album-closer 'In The Name Of The Father (Fernando's Song),' it is clear Revolution Saints is a musical force to be reckoned with. Songs 'Locked Out Of Paradise,' 'Dream On' and 'Here Forever' showcase the diversity that permeates throughout the entire album. Deen's band mates from Journey also make an appearance on the album with guitarist Neal Schon showing up on 'Way To The Sun' and vocalist Arnel Pineda singing on 'You're Not Alone.' The album's 80's vibe is reminiscent of some of the biggest hard rock tracks of the day, but with a modern feel, backed by top-level musicianship. Here at MelodicRock.com I'm going to go through the album Track By Track with our own exclusive teaser Soundbytes!

Back On My Trail – A dramatic album opener that rocks as intended.
The classy song is written, like much of the album, by Alessandro Del Vecchio who also produces and contributes keyboards and piano. This is easily Ale’s most accomplished work to date.

Check it out: Back On My Trail

Turn Back Time is co-written by Alessandro and Jack Blades and is an easy choice for the first single. The feel good anthemic and uptempo melodic rocker sees Deen and Jack share lead vocals, with Deen doing his finest Journey style melodies and everyone joining in to take the chorus over the top.
Some more tasty guitar soloing and an infectious foot thumping beat makes the song a clear winner.
Deen again is a monster on drums. How does he do it? Hear the song in full with the newly launched video:

You're Not AloneAlessandro Del Vecchio’s piano opens the first ballad of the album. It’s only a matter of seconds before the power of this song is on display.
Arnel Pineda and Deen share lead vocals in a very recent era Journey-esque track that features layers of keyboards and rich musical depth.
It’s a big power ballad that reminds me heavily of the more dramatic songs off the LRS album (also written by Alessandro)

Another Alessandro Del Vecchio song.

Check it out: Locked Out Of Paradise

Way To The Sun - An acoustic guitar and a soulful vocal greet the start of the next track.
Interestingly, Deen asked Alessandro to sing the chorus with him so Ale could be on the same track as Neal. That’s coolness for you.
The track continues building throughout, so by this time it’s in full epic mode, with vocals, guitars and harmonies. Beautiful track.

Dream On is a song written by Erik Martensson, Johan and Kris Becker, Alessandro and Jack Blades.

Check it out - Dream On

Check it out - Don't Walk Away

Here Forever is another ballad, but like each slower track before it, it is different once again and stands on its own. I love this track. Soulful, powerful and emotional. It’s more rock then ballad and Deen’s voice is outstanding once again. Definitely reminds me of Journey.

Check it out - Here Forever

Strangers To This Life – it’s time to fire proceedings back up again. Deen goes full Perry for this moody rocker that might have sounded pretty comfortable on Journey’s Trial By Fire.

Check it out - Strangers To This Life

Better World is another upbeat melodic rocker that has a strong European feel and a good mix of Journey too. The verse and bridge-to-chorus is pure Journey, while the chorus is more Euro-melodic rock, with keyboards a plenty. Of course there is a tasty Aldrich solo and some rolling bass thumping from Jack. Alessandro takes a writing credit with Magnus Karlsson on this one.

Check it out - Better World

How To Mend A Broken Heart is a ripping version of the brilliance Eclipse track. This has all the energy of the original and Deen sounds brilliant singing it. That rasp in his voice is a joy! For those that don’t know Eclipse, let this be an introduction to the fabulous Swedish band.

Digital Download and 180 gram black vinyl.

European release by Frontiers Records: Friday 20th February 2015

Deen CastronovoJack Blades and Doug Aldrich. Put these three rock titans together in a band and you have the exciting new hard rock/melodic rock supergroup REVOLUTION SAINTS.

Superbly handling drums and lead vocals is Deen Castronovo. Already renowned for his drum talents and backing vocals in JourneyBad English and more, Deen's excellent vocal talents are in the spotlight on this release.

On bass, and co-lead vocals on a few tracks, Jack Blades is well known for his melodic, yet hard rocking approach to songwriting and playing via multiple classic albums by his main band Night Ranger, as well as with the Damn Yankees and the Shaw/Bladesreleases.

On guitar, Doug Aldrich was excited to lend his fiery blues guitar attack to such a unique and melodic band. Doug, who just left Whitesnake after a fruitful 12 year run (including co-writing 2010s critically acclaimed "Forevermore" release) and also of Burning Rainand formerly of DIO, has a deep pedigree and is one of today’s most respected guitarists.

You can tell by the name - and the names involved - that REVOLUTION SAINTS isn’t your average rock 'n roll band. The new album brings back the classic melodic rock style to where it should be: inspiring, uplifting vocals, soaring melodies and musicianship to die for. It’s completely badass.

The project is the vision of Frontiers' President Serafino Perugino, who for years had hoped to work on a project where Deen would be the lead vocalist. Having previously worked with all three artists on different projects on Frontiers, having Deen, Jack and Doug on board together was a dream come true for Perugino.

With production overseen by in-house Frontiers man, Alessandro Del Vecchio (who also contributed to the songwriting and played keyboards on the album), the recording process took place in Portland, Oregon during the summer of 2014.

REVOLUTION SAINTS' music is played with a heart and soul and that highlights the passion and the enthusiasm of three of the best rock and all-around musicians in the game today. Truly, this will be a release that you cannot afford to miss. Lovers of melodic rock will fall in love all over again with REVOLUTION SAINTS.
