Formed out of a love for 1980’s rock music, Trapper is a new rock band fronted by 3-time Juno Award nominee Emm Gryner and one of Canada’s premier guitar players, Sean Kelly (Nelly Furtado, Helix).

Gryner’s accolades include touring the world and recording as a singer with David Bowie, as well as penning 13 original albums. Kelly has toured the world as a lead guitarist for Nelly Furtado, topped the Billboard charts with his classical guitar album and recently penned a book featuring tales of Canada’s hard rock and metal heroes entitled, “Metal On Ice”.

As self-proclaimed "raiders of the lost rock", Trapper strives to capture the spirit of the 1980’s by not only covering beloved songs that have been forgotten but also penning their own new “big hook” songs with a slight twist: Trapper writes about life in Ontario in the summer - beaches, bush parties, campfires and good times. The first single “Grand Bender” is a big chorus rocker that would have fit in well in 1986 and has the band singing about “motorplex suntans” and the “surf and the sun”.

And then there are the cover songs. The live set-list reads like a well-loved K-Tel vinyl album with a Canadian slant: “The Warrior” by Scandal, “Heart of The City” by The Arrows, “Never” by Heart, “Your Daddy Don’t Know” by Toronto and even a medley Loverboy’s biggest hits.
Trapper brings a first-class, high-energy show full of lost treasures that bring back great musical memories and might even make a few new ones.
