THRESHOLD Announce New Vocalist; Glynn Morgan Returns

THRESHOLD have parted ways with vocalist Damian Wilson. The band have chosen to start a new chapter without him and he has told them he respects their decision.

Wilson enjoyed three stints with THRESHOLD, performing on the band's most recent records "For The Journey" and "March Of Progress" as well as their early releases "Wounded Land" and "Extinct Instinct" in the 1990's. Damian Wilson has been a great frontman for THRESHOLD and the band would like to sincerely thank him and wish him every success in his future endeavours.

THRESHOLD's new frontman will be Glynn Morgan, the band's former vocalist from 1994 to 1996. Morgan appeared on THRESHOLD's 1994 album "Psychedelicatessen" and returned to work with the band in 2008 to record tracks for the singles box set "Paradox".

Glynn Morgan commented: "I was over the moon when I got the phone call. To work with Karl and Richard and be a part of the mighty THRESHOLD story once more is a great honour. I can't wait to start recording, the new material has me hooked already."

Threshold and Headspace frontman Damian Wilson has announced he will release his new solo album Built for Fighting on 9th September which will be preceded by new single Thrill Me, available to download from 9th August.

The album, produced by Andrew Holdsworth, is Damian’s first solo album in more than 10 years. Following suit with his previous solo releases, Built for Fighting is a singer-songwriter album containing 11 new original songs and a cover of Depeche Mode’s Somebody.

The album was recorded over the last 12 months in studios in London (UK), Dublin (IE) and Tilburg (NL) with a group of talented musicians, including Bill Shanley (Ray Davies), Lee Pomeroy (Jeff Lynne’s ELO, Take That), Adam Wakeman (Ozzy Osbourne, Black Sabbath) and Brian Willoughby (The Strawbs).

Built for Fighting was mixed and mastered in Sweden by the Fascination Street duo Jens Bogren and Tony Lindgren, who have worked with acts such as Opeth, Devin Townsend and Haken, but also handled Taylor Swift’s latest live album.

Built for Fighting will be available as digipak CD, 12” Vinyl and as digital download on all major platforms, including a special ‘Mastered For iTunes’ version.

MAIDEN UNITED, the acoustic IRON MAIDEN tribute project featuring Damian Wilson (Threshold, Headspace) and Ruud Jolie (Within Temptation), published an album trailer for the upcoming album 'Remembrance'.

'Remembrance' will be released on May 22nd on CD, red 12' vinyl and as digital download.
Marcela Bovio (Stream of Passion), Thunderstick (Samson) and Wudstik (Ayreon, For All We Know) have been added to the list of guest musicians on the album.

British progressive metal heroes THRESHOLD reveale further info on their upcoming new album For The Journey. The successor for their 2012 output March Of Progress was produced by Karl Groom and THRESHOLD keyboardist Richard West at Thin Ice Studios in England and mastered by Mika Jussila at Finnvox in Finland and will be released on September 19, 2014 via Nuclear Blast.
