Dallas, TX - May 26, 2016.  North American syndicated Rock radio show and website InTheStudio: The Stories Behind History’s Greatest Rock Bands puts the crosshairs on the pivotal live album by Detroit journeyman rocker Bob Seger, who took aim on a dream and squeezed the trigger. With sales to date of over six million copies, Bob Seger and the Silver Bullet Band’s April 1976 double live album Live Bullet may be the biggest-selling album in history to have missed the Top 30 initially. Live Bullet sales took off after Bob Seger’s breakthrough Night Moves, his tenth album, skyrocketed later that same year.

1968’s “Ramblin‘ Gamblin‘ Man” hit single had been the “bullet” in the chamber, but during the ensuing seven years Seger added a clip full of songs including “Beautiful Loser”,” the rapid-fire rocker “Katmandu”, and the secret weapon “Turn the Page”. As Bob explains to InTheStudio host Redbeard, playing with live ammo those next several years was challenging to prove that Seger was not firing blanks .

“ After “Ramblin’ Gamblin’ Man” did rather well, the next seven years or so were a little dry, and I’ve always called those years, ‘Bob learns to make albums’, because that’s a whole different thing than making a hit single. I had to develop my writing because I was on the road constantly, where I really didn’t have much of a chance to write. We were doing like 250 nights a year... At some point I said to myself, ‘I really enjoy doing this. I really don’t want to have a what musicians call a ‘day gig’.”  - Bob Seger

Bob Seger Still Running Against The Wind On Anniversary Of 1980 Classic

Dallas, TX - February 11, 2015.  North American syndicated Rock radio show and website InTheStudio: The Stories Behind Historys Greatest Rock Bands catches up with Detroits favored son and RocknRoll Hall of Famer Bob Seger on the 35th anniversary of his classic album Against The Wind.

After over a decade of sweatin it out on the road, as documented on the live album  Live Bullet, Bob Seger and the Silver Bullet band finally had their breakout with 1976s Night Moves followed by Stranger In Town in 1978, capping off a phenomenal end to the decade.

The sheer height to which Bob Segers star had risen was put on full display when Against the Wind unseated Pink Floyds epic The Wall album for the # 1 spot on the Billboard chart upon release in February 1980, producing the hits Fire Lake, Youll Accompny Me, and title track Against the Wind.

Superstardom, however, was challenging for Seger. Bob admits to InTheStudio host Redbeard how he was able to find his way after selling over 17 million albums in four short years.

I think (my) reaction to stardom was very uncomfortable from 76 thru 79, because I had NO reaction (from record execs) for the twelve years prior to that. I was very suspicious throughout that period... I was probably not the best person to be around unless you were really in my inner circle... I was quite closed off.  I think it wasnt until 1980 that I really opened up. And thats why I have such fond memories of Against the Wind. - Bob Seger

Bob Seger’s new studio album, Ride Out, will be released October 14 on Capitol Records

Produced by Seger, the new collection stays true to his legendary sound as he effortlessly marries rock, blues and country, yielding an album with all the hallmarks of the rocker’s deep catalog of hits.  Seger began teasing tracks from the album during his 2013 tour, including “Detroit Made,” “All of The Roads” and “California Stars.”

“I feel really good about this record,” says Seger.  “This album touches on how I think a lot of us feel about finding our place in a more complicated world – from how we appreciate things as simple and pure as love, to navigating through the corruption and violence that permeates the news.  It sums up a lot of feelings I have about a variety of subjects.”

Ride Out is Seger’s first studio album since his 2006 platinum-certified Face The Promise and follows his 2011 platinum-certified release, Ultimate Hits:  Rock and Roll Never Forgets
