FACE DANCER Announces New Lead Vocalist and Mid-Atlantic Tour
Iconic 80’s Rockers Dust off the Red Shoes and Crank up the Amps!
Baltimore, MD – August, 01, 2014 – FACE DANCER, the Baltimore-based band that stormed the
Mid-Atlantic music scene, and the nation, in the 80’s with catchy melodies and clever hooks, like no
other, announced today the boys are back. Best known for their many “impossible not to like” singles,
such as, Red Shoes, Cry Baby, & Time Bomb, FACE DANCER cut its teeth in the DC and Baltimore
nightclub scene in the late 70’s – honing their chops and writing skills. It wasn’t long before the band
was being pursued by virtually every major record label, but ultimately signed with Capital Records
and released two albums – This World and About Face – before parting ways in 1982. After leaving
Capitol Records, the band took an extended vacation, then got back together to record two more
albums Midnite Raid and Alive. Throughout the 80's, 90's, and into early 2000's, the band went thru a
few changes but continued to draw large crowds whenever and wherever they played. In 2009, Rock
Candy Records remastered and re-released This World in Europe, then soon after released it
worldwide.
With the sad and tragic passing of Carey Kress in 2009, the band went through several great singers
until they found, veteran rocker, Michael Leigh, known as the “Voice of Voices,” for the upcoming Mid-
Atlantic tour and new CD. Michael was most recently with The Reagan Years, a very successful 80’s
tribute band, but is also well known throughout the region for his work with Mona Lisa, IROC, and
numerous other bands.
In late 2013, core members of the band decided to launch a full blown resurrection of FACE
DANCER. Joining the original members Jeff Adams on lead guitar, David Utter on rhythm guitar, and
Billy Trainor on drums, are John Suchy on keyboards, Danny Grim on bass and Michael Leigh, Lead
Vocals. With the mere mention of this incredible line-up, the internet buzz is completely off the hook.
