TheRighttoRock.com has issued their latest podcast interview (episode #25), featuring Bassist Nick Brophy.  Nick took time out of his busy schedule to discuss Riverdogs new album California. Interview lasts approx. 30 min.

The boys recently caught up with Nick Brophy (Riverdogs) to discuss the Riverdogs latest release, California. Since reforming the original line up in 2003, the band had only released one studio album until now. Nick discusses how the new album came together - as well as the possibility of a few live shows - and much, much more.

And hey if you dig the Riverdogs' music as much as we do, show them some love by purchasing California from your favorite online store won't you? We here in Houston may have been knocked around recently, but we've still got our HORNS UP!

REVOLUTION SAINTS Launch New Single 'I Wouldn’t Change A Thing'

Friday, October 13, 2017

News Feed

REVOLUTION SAINTS—Deen Castronovo (ex-JourneyBad English), Doug Aldrich (The Dead Daisies, ex-Whitesnake, DIO), Jack Blades (Night RangerDamn Yankees)—released the third video, “I Wouldn’t Change A Thing,” from their highly anticipated second album.

It was directed by Maurizio Del Piccolo of Moviedel, and it was shot at Villa Bossi in Bodio Lomnago, Varese, Italy.

“I Wouldn't Change A Thing" was originally written by Richard Page from Mr. Mister,” says Castronovo, “and Serafino wanted us to do it our way. The first time I heard it, I got a bit choked up. It’s a beautiful ballad that Doug got a hold of and put his stamp on it.”

"The song was filmed at magnificent historic home outside of Milano, Italy,” Aldrich continues. “It was a rainy day and really had a great vibe for the video. We spent most of the day going for the basic shots and the actors did the love scenes later. There was some steamy stuff going on in the script and I decided it was a bit too racy for me, so I decided to help the chef with his pesto sauce! It is a beautiful song and a nice video. I was very happy about how the solo guitar worked and Deen just shines!!"

LIGHT IN THE DARK is due out October 13 on Frontiers Music Srl, and will be available on CD, CD/DVD Deluxe Edition (includes live bonus tracks on the CD and on the DVD, footage from the band’s first-ever live performance captured at Frontiers Rock Festival in Milan this past April, a “Making Of” mini-documentary, and music videos for “Light In The Dark” and “I Wouldn’t Change A Thing”), Vinyl, and as a special Limited Edition Box Set (includes the Deluxe Edition CD/DVD, 180g Vinyl, T-shirt (size L), poster, lithograph and sticker). Pre-orders for all formats can be made at the following locations:

You can also listen to REVOLUTION SAINTS' newest music on Spotify here: http://radi.al/LightInTheDarkSpotify

LIGHT IN THE DARK builds off the classic melodic rock style of the debut, but fans should prepare for a somehow even more inspired set and a few (pleasant) surprises. Inspiring, uplifting, emotionally powerful, and thoughtful, this album WILL be the soundtrack to many a moment in your life.

G3 U.S. TOUR SET TO LAUNCH ON JANUARY 11

Tour features Satriani, John Petrucci (Dream Theater) & Phil Collen (Def Leppard)
'Beyond the Supernova' Documentary by ZZ Satriani to Premiere at Mill Valley Film Festival – October 14

(San Francisco, CA) September 18, 2017 – World-renowned guitar virtuoso, JOE SATRIANI, announces the release of his 16th solo album, What Happens Next, set for release, January 12, 2018 on Sony/Legacy Recordings.  Just a day prior to the album release, SATRIANI revives his G3 tour entity, inviting Dream Theater's John Petrucci and Def Leppard lead guitarist, Phil Collen to join him.  The G3 tour launches on January 11 in Seattle, WA and continues across the U.S. before winding up on February 25 in Milwaukee, WI.  There is a special tour pre-sale promotion giving fans the opportunity to buy concert tickets with the new album as well as VIP packages.  Visit  https://lnk.to/WHN for more information, pre-sale opportunities and specific market pre-sale and on-sale dates.
The new, instrumentally electrifying album features a power trio of legendary status; SATRIANI on guitar and Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee bassist Glenn Hughes (Deep Purple/Black Country Communion) and drummer Chad Smith (Red Hot Chili Peppers), the latter reuniting with SATRIANI for the first time since their work in the supergroup Chickenfoot. SATRIANI is once again joined by producer/engineer/mixer Mike Fraser, his frequent collaborator over the last 20 years, on What Happens Next. Fraser is well-known for recording/mixing every AC/DC album since 1990's The Razors Edge along with his classic works with SATRIANI going back to the release of Crystal Planet in 1998.
These new tracks literally vibrate the soul with an energy rarely found these days. From the dynamic opening track, 'Energy', to the majestic crunch of 'Thunder High On The Mountain', and the easy, sensual cords of 'Smooth Soul'. This unparalleled rock-rhythm section gives What Happens Next a depth of groove that sets it apart from SATRIANI's other work.

Since its debut in 1996, SATRIANI's G3 tour has featured the world's greatest guitarists (everyone from Steve Vai and Eric Johnson to Steve Lukather and Robert Fripp) and has become a consistent concert hall sell-out attraction in the U.S., South America, Europe, Australia and Japan. 'I could say that I'm surprised at the durability of G3 and how much it's grown, but in a way I'm not,' SATRIANI says with a laugh, 'I think part of its charm and its mojo is in the chemistry of having three top guitarists share what they do on stage. It's fun, it's unpredictable, it's wild – it's everything you could want in a shoow.'
In addition to this new album and exciting tour news, a new documentary 'Beyond the Supernova' shot by SATRIANI's filmmaker son, ZZ, makes its debut at the Mill Valley Film Festival this October.  The tour documentary chronicles Joe, along with his band and crew, on their last 'Shockwave Supernova' tour throughout Europe and Asia.
Satriani's Strange Beautiful Music: A Musical Memoir first released in May 2014 will now be available in paperback.  Pre-orders are available now with the official release on November 7, 2017.  The paperback version includes a new chapter focusing on SATRIANI's last album, Shockwave Supernova. Read an excerpt from the new chapter HERE.

For two decades, the guitar virtuoso has traveled the world, playing to sold-out crowds as both a headliner and as founder of the all-star 'G3' guitar extravaganza.  SATRIANI's studio and live recordings have sold more than 10 million copies worldwide to date and of his many solo albums, two have gone platinum and four others went gold, with 15 Grammy nominations between them.  His side project, Chickenfoot, featuring former Van Halen front man Sammy Hagar, former bassist Michael Anthony, and Red Hot Chili Peppers' drummer Chad Smith saw their debut album certified gold and their second studio album debuted at #9.

1 – Energy                                                                7 - Headrush

The official trailer for Styx & Don Felder: Renegades In The Fast Lane” can be seen here: http://bit.ly/StyxFelderVegas2.

For these special performances, STYX--Tommy Shaw (vocals, guitars), James “JY” Young (vocals, guitars), Lawrence Gowan (vocals, keyboards), Todd Sucherman (drums) and Ricky Phillips (bass), along with the occasional surprise appearance by original bassist Chuck Panozzo—has created an exclusive set list and brand new stage production. DON FELDER is also working on some exciting plans of his own for the residency. The multi-show run will pay tribute to both STYX’s and DON FELDER’s combined 45-plus years as one of the most successful rock and roll bands in history and one of rock’s most illustrious guitar legends.

As STYX’s Tommy Shaw explains, “After our ‘Renegades In The Fast Lane’ residency earlier this year, we kept hearing the question, ‘Will there be more dates?’ Well the answer is, YES! We had such a great time trading stage time with Don Felder. First being his band playing a set from his former band, Eagles, and then having Don join us to play some STYX songs. Now we are returning for another round of shows!!!”

While STYX’s James “JY” Young is “Very excited to take the stage once again with our brother in arms, Don Felder, and be back at that amazing and beautiful theatre at The Venetian in Las Vegas. We had a blast last year and we are excited to go back. Viva Las Vegas!”

DON FELDER agrees, “I’m truly looking forward to returning to The Venetian with my buddies, STYX.  We had such a great time last year, and we’re coming back again to rock it in January 2018. Two of my favorite things are playing with STYX and rocking in Las Vegas. Doesn’t get much better than that! Can’t wait to see you there.”

As Mike Weatherford of the Las Vegas Review-Journal wrote about 2017’s “Renegades In The Fast Lane,” STYX is “...today’s perennial Vegas showmen...every tune is impeccably played and spot-on in its musicianship...Of all the classic rock groups, STYX maybe left the most bread crumbs to a Las Vegas future with the camp Broadway flair of 1981’s PARADISE THEATRE.”

THEY JUST CAN’T HELP THEMSELVES ...
Call it insanity, love, passion or obsession: Not by any stretch of the imagination are GOTTHARD willing to keep their feet still. After the triumphant Silver/Anniversary Tour with 50 shows in front of 300,000 people, multiple chart records and prime time slots at every important festival, Leo, Freddy, Marc, Hena, and Nic are releasing the next sensational news: Precisely 20 years after the release of the “DEFROSTED” album, GOTTHARD are gleefully whetting their instruments to get the legendary live experience back on the road in 2018.

REVIEW: DEFROSTED 1997
In the late 90s, the release of the spectacular unplugged live album “DEFROSTED” rang the bell for a whole new era: After an impressive rocket launch with headliner tours and their first #1 albums in Switzerland, GOTTHARD went all in again with an unplugged live album. Successfully. “DEFROSTED” reached double platinum sales after three months, and the accompanying tour across sold-out clubs and onto massive festival stages went on for two years instead of the originally slated two months due to overwhelming demand – additionally providing the boys with a brand-new fan base. Because of its extraordinary intimacy and atmosphere, the “DEFROSTED UNPLUGGED TOUR 1997” is still iconic today and a main topic throughout all media and fan communities.

PREVIEW: DEFROSTED 2018
Upping the ante is a matter of honor for the ultimate unplugged experience’s new edition. On the face of it, GOTTHARD have again selected the finest small clubs and secured the biggest festivals – however, on the inside, of course, the band is now equipped with over 20 years of additional experience and a truck load full of additional hits. The “DEFROSTED UNPLUGGED TOUR 2018” offers high fives with current and former guest musicians, all-time faves as well as new hits like “Heaven”, “Lift U Up” and “Anytime, Anywhere”, which weren’t even written in 1997 – and all of this wrapped in brand-new acoustic arrangements for a unique party full of great moments, quiet memories and much loved riffs.

BOTTOM LINE:
Those, who don’t want to risk waiting another 20 years, should keep a few nights clear in 2018 and watch out for the next newsletter: All dates of the “DEFROSTED UNPLUGGED TOUR 2018” will be announced here first.

New WHITESNAKE Well Underway Says Drummer TOMMY ALDRIDGE

Speaking to Vsevolod Baronin for an interview (which will be printed at Russian website MuzTorg.ru) after his drum clinic at NAMM Musikmesse Moscow today, Whitesnake star drummer Tommy Aldrigre reveal a bit of secret of newest Whitesnake studio recordings: “I just finished recording my parts of newest Whitesnake album. As far as I know, most of instrumental parts are recorded too, and David [Coverdale] do his vocal part of work right now. We, as the band, hope to have new Whitesnake album early or Spring 2018 and touring the world with it next year too”.
Speaking of his back catalog, Tommy says that “my best-sounding record isn’t recorded yet, really. But if you wish to know where I came to absolutely best drums and overall sound in my life and career, it’s very strange choice for most of my fans. It’s third House Of Lords’ album, Demons Down (1992). Produced and mixed by David Thoener, it gave everybody a chance to hear most crisp and clear sound of rock, my drums included”.
