MELODICROCK FEST 5 USA – LINEUP CHANGE

It is with great disappointment and considerable sadness that I must announce the withdrawal of MECCA and SCHERER/BATTEN from MRF5 USA.

First of all – this is entirely regrettable, but it is one of those risks you have to accept when booking an event 12 months out from the go date.

I’d like to reaffirm that neither of these cancellations are due to anything under my personal control.
In both cases, unrelated issues combined with the logistics of putting together working lineups for both acts has proven too great a challenge to achieve.

Joe Vana: “Due to scheduling circumstances beyond my control Mecca is unable to perform @ MRFest5...I will still be there supporting Andrew at the fest!!! My sincerest apologies as this was unforeseen!!! I’m very disappointed as well....”

I’m talking to Joe about a role for him on the VIP Thursday event, hopefully an acoustic performance of some Mecca tunes.

Marc Scherer is also hopeful of making an appearance at the VIP event and throughout the weekend to meet fans and thank them for the amazing support of the Scherer/Batten album.

As the Saturday lineup was becoming a little crowded, at this moment other sets will just be expanded, and Gary Moon will be given as much time as he likes to bring the highlights of his career to fans with the backing of Evolution Eden with Eric Ragno.

To reassure event attendees of any further issues, I’m pleased to update fans with news that flights are booked and paid for Treat, Crazy Lixx, FM, Grand Design, The Radio Sun, Adriangale, Boulevard and H.E.A.T and arrangements for the remainder of the lineup are all in place.

VIP and GA Tickets to the event are currently at the printers and will be mailed out in the next week or two. VIP Laminates will be ready for collection prior to the Thursday VIP event.

Shinedown - "Devil" (Official Video)

The new SHINEDOWN album is out May 4.

From Billboard: The concept rolls from the pounding, riff-driven attack of "DEVIL" to "KILL YOUR CONSCIENCE" and its cautionary tale of social media to "special," which Smith says he thinks "is one of the more interesting songs that people will probably have quite a few conversations about." By album closer "BRILLIANT," normally a spot reserved on Shinedown albums for a ballad to bid adieu the listener, the LP has transcended to a rafters-reaching major-key hook that defiantly proclaims it's "my day to be brilliant" -- certainly a 180 from "DEVIL."

"At the beginning of the record, you can feel this intensity and these bold statements that are being made," Smith says. "But as the record progresses, you hear the individual and the record start to shift, and they start to get their confidence back, and they start to understand what's going on, because they're having to face emotions that they've never really faced before. We call it digging in the dirt mentally. This person has to flush it out. In order to be able to get out of this room and out of this chair and go back into the world, they have to train themselves mentally. They have to accept the fact that it's not always going to be great. It's not always going to be exactly the way you want it.

"A lot of this record is about me, and a lot of this record is about the things in my life that I've been afraid to face in one way or another. But it's also about Eric and what he faces. And that was a very bold understanding that me and him had during the making of this record, that nothing was off limits. This record is also about Zach, and this record is also about Barry, you know? We had to come from a very real place."

DON AIREY New Album 'One Of A Kind' Out May 25

DON AIREY TO RELEASE NEW STUDIO ALBUM ONE OF A KIND ON MAY 25 ON earMUSIC

In these days where everybody seems to want to show off at every given occasion, Don Airey is without a doubt One of a Kind.

It is hard to find a name amongst all those that over the last 30 years have left their mark in the history of rock that has not utilised Don's keyboard skills at some point. Amongst them Ozzy Osbourne, Rainbow, Whitesnake, Judas Priest, Gary Moore, Brian May, Jethro Tull, Black Sabbath and, obviously, Deep Purple, the band of which Don Airey has been a full time member for over 15 years.

But Don Airey has never been a session player. Bands and artists work with him for his unique musical vision, for the twist he gives to songs. It is with the same passion, the same energy, the same talent that Don Airey approaches his very own songwriting.

One of a Kind is a true classic hard rock gem with melodies, great riffs and solos and a unique band unity. To top it all, his new solo album has been written and recorded using the spirit of a band featuring the following talented musicians: Carl Sentance (from the current lineup of British legends Nazareth) is a singer that all fans of metal voices like those of Rob Halford and Graham Bonnet will love; Bassist Laurence Cottle, who has played with everyone from Black Sabbath, to Gary Moore, to Chick Corea, forges a great rhythm section with the thunderous talent of Jon Finnigan, apparently as loud on stage as he is at the after show parties. Last but definitely not least, there is the incredible talent of Simon McBride, who has no fear of being compared to the many incredible guitar players Don has worked with before.

One of a Kind is one song after the other for the delight of every hard rock fan, who would be making a big mistake were they to overlook this album.

It will be released on May 25, 2018 on earMUSIC as 2CD including a bonus live CD as well as via vinyl and digitally.

It is not difficult to see Don Airey playing one day with Deep Purple in front of 15,000 people, and the next day, playing the organ in the church of his beloved local village with the same concentration and respect for the music and the audience.

It is with the same spirit that Don shows no discernible effort moving from the glories of the last two Deep Purple albums (NOW What?! and inFinite both having benefitted from his ever present talent) to playing in clubs with his own band. And always with a big smile on his face as soon as the guitar roars in, waiting to reply with his Hammond.

1. "Respect"
2. All Out of Line"

"You might know some of those guys other musical work as the band degreed,” says Ted “I am also getting some vocal layering with the help of my good friend, the Italian Stallion of Vocals, Alessandro Delvecchio. The album is being co-Produced by Mats Ericsson and myself in Kopperberg, Sweden.”

Ted continues, "After almost 40 years of recording and releasing music, I wanted to stretch out a little bit musically and I am proud to say that I have come up with a MAGICAL combination of amazing musicians and songs! The songs are awesome, and the musicianship will BLOW YOU AWAY. Every one of the players are MASTERS of their instruments and you might hear just a hint of modern prog interlaced with my usual catchy choruses this time around! This is going to be my favorite solo album ever and an album that I felt I HAD to make. And I am so happy with the results so far!”
