STREET TALK is the brainchild of Swedish keyboardist/songwriter FREDRIK BERGH. Their debut came in 1997 with the album ‘Collaboration’.
The album featured, amongst others, guest vocalist Göran Edman who would continue to work with Fredrik throughout the Street Talk history.

In 2000, the album ‘Transition’ was released featuring Goran again on a set of smooth Westcoast/AOR tunes.

In 2002 STREET TALK signed to the now defunct MTM Music label for the excellent album 'Restoration'. The opus featured vocals from Goran once again and also two popular tracks from American AOR vocalist HUGO.

In 2006 the band released their fourth all-original studio album – the distinctly more powerful, pure AOR masterpiece ‘V’. Featuring Goran Edman on all vocals, the album was the defining moment of Street Talk’s history.

Since the release of ‘V’ in 2006, STREET TALK has been on hiatus, but Fredrik has been as busy as ever as a founding member of melodic metal band Bloodbound as well as writing and working with such artists as Revolution Saints, Steve Augeri, Steve Overland, Joe Lynn Turner, Rob Moratti, Harry Hess, Bob Halligan jr, Phenomena, Seven and Anette Olzon

STELLAR REVIVAL's Lost Debut Out Now Lion's Pride Music

Release Year:
2015

Lions Pride Music is thrilled to release Stellar Revivals debut album, Love Lust And Bad Company, produced by legendary producer Brian Howes, who’s also been behind some of the major artist such as Nickelback, Skillet, Daughtry, David Cook, among others.

Here’s what The Dedicated Rocker Society Music Magazine had to say about the album ” The bottom line is, 'Love, Lust & Bad Company',  is an impressive rock album full of powerful, heavy but very catchy rock songs. Melody and power are not always something that are captured together on rock albums but Stellar Revival have managed it on this album to great effect. You are launched into this wonderful world with the in your face rocker from the moment your press play! The album just does not let up, delivering one storming song after another. - Highly Recommended ~ Tony @ The Dedicated Rocker Society

And Fireworks Magazine ”The quality of this album is what defines it; there is no filler whatsoever throughout the eleven tracks which is a rarity in this day and age. Even the bonus tracks are worth having with acoustic versions of a couple of the songs together with some early demos that put other band’s finished work to shame (Yes Hinder I mean you). In the Modern Melodic Rock genre, this stands head and shoulders above almost everything I’ve heard.  ’Love, Lust And Bad Company’ is a gem of an album and a forgotten classic and it remains utterly criminal that this record has remained buried for four years. The whole saga provides yet another reason why the music industry remains as clueless as ever about good music. (Stellar Revival has now called it a day but several members now appear in the band Southern Genltemen)." Mike Newdeck

The album can be purchased for 13 USD thru paypal by sending it to info@lionspridemusic.com

And do visit Daniel Uricoli’s new band Southern Gentlemen at www.facebook.com/southerngentlemen that hails from the ashes of Stellar Revival.

And watch the lyric video, (below),  for the song, Watch You Walk Away, by Stellar Revival.

SURVIVOR Recruit New Vocalist CAMERON BARTON; Tour Dates Pending

EXCLUSIVE: Classic melodic rockers SURVIVOR are coming back.

Following the tragic death of Jimi Jamison, the band (featuring original guitarist Frankie Sullivan and original vocalist Dave Bickler) went into indefinite hiatus.

But now news comes that Frankie Sullivan has recruited a new vocalist to take Jimi’s place and join him and Dave Bickler on the road again, starting in January at a Las Vegas date.

The new voice is Nashville singer/songwriter Cameron Barton – a 20 year old described on his website as “Fusing iconic classic rock songs with today’s modern country, Cameron brings a new and compelling sound to country music”.

Survivor’s booking agent website was quoted: “Survivor has a live show that brings your audience right back to the original records with a true concert excitement! Lead by founding member/lead guitarist Frankie Sullivan at the helm along with original lead singer Dave Bickler and the band's newest member Cameron Barton whose natural vocals clone the late Jimi Jamison, Survivor's second singer. Limited shows for 2015, 2016 touring the world!”

When asked to comment, Frankie Sullivan would only state “No singer news as of yet. Will keep you posted.” The new quote disappeared from the site later that very day.

So it’s yet to be made official, but I can 100% confirm that the band has already started rehearsals with Dave and Cameron.

It’s good to see the guys back, but it’s with a heavy heart that it must happen without the late, great Jimi Jamison.

UPDATED; Here is the official press release made overnight:

VETERAN ROCK BAND HITS THE ROAD WITH LEAD VOCALIST CAMERON BARTON

Legendary rock band Survivor is embarking on their next chapter in 2016 with a new member who has seemingly given new life to one of rock ‘n’ roll’s preeminent bands. With 21-year-old Nashville resident Cameron Barton assuming lead vocalist duties, the group will take their trademark arena rock sound to their loyal and devoted fan base.

Barton steps into the role of Jimi Jamison, who passed away in September 2014. Survivor is excited to have Cameron bring his powerhouse vocal style to the band’s live shows. “He’s great,” says the band’s Frankie Sullivan. “After hearing him, I was in Nashville within twenty four hours. I was in the studio with him about a day later. I stayed with him for about four days, and put him through the ringer. He just kept getting better and kept delivering.” Barton’s commitment to getting the job done is something that impresses his bandmate. “He’s a very focused guy. Most musicians aren’t that focused when they are that young. He learned twenty songs in about eight days.”

Sullivan noted that there might be pressure of taking on the role of lead singer in a group with such a historic pedigree, but he says Barton doesn’t seem to be affected by the pressure. “He just wants to do what he does. You get new people in with new ideas, and usually that comes with a different vibe.”

All in all, the band is hoping that 2016 brings more success with their impending tour and planned album, slated for later in the year. “I think it could be a year to remember. He has a great work ethic.”

Survivor released their first album in 1980 on Scotti Brothers Their first Top-40 on the Hot 100 came the next year with “Poor Man’s Son.” Their big break would come in 1982 when the band was asked by Sylvester Stallone to provide the theme song for Rocky III. That single, “Eye Of The Tiger,” hit # 1 – staying there for seven weeks, winning a Grammy for Best Rock Performance By A Duo Or Group With Vocal, a People’s Choice Award, and an Academy Award nomination. The song came in at #18 on the “Top 100 Singles” chart in Billboard‘s 100th Anniversary issue and it’s well over the 300,000 mark on iTunes, where it’s currently holding strong at #9 on their “Top Soundtrack” chart. The band also struck paydirt as a result of a Stallone movie when “Burning Heart” appeared on the soundtrack of Rocky IV in 1985, hitting # 2 on the singles chart.

The band’s VITAL SIGNS, was another huge success for the band, peaking at #16 on Billboard‘s “Top 200 Albums” chart thanks to the Billboard Top-20 hits "I Can't Hold Back" (#13), "High On You" (#8) and "The Search Is Over" (#4).

Dates for 2016 will be announced soon. For more information about Survivor, log on to their www.SurvivorBand.com

In continuing on with catching up with some of 2015’s highest profile releases, British melodic rockers Serpentine returned some months ago with their third album and first to feature new vocalist Adam Payne.
Payne’s a terrific find – his voice is perfectly suited to Serpentine’s musical adjustment for this album. Payne has a deeper, more natural voice for the style of music, which is now heavily under the influence of enlisted producer and co-writer for this album – Ten’s Gary Hughes.
Hughes’ influence is evident from the get go.

Serpentine have always been classic British melodic rock, but now they have a strong connection to the popular sound Ten had in their early days as well as the Hughes produced and written Bob Catley solo albums.
In the vein of the much loved Ten debut, Serpentine have delivered a 10 track monster of a record. There’s 50 minutes of inspired guitar/keyboard driven AOR here, infused with that uptempo moody Ten sound.

Season of the Witch rocks harder than the band has done to date; while La Tragedienne moves as quickly as the swathe of keyboards directs, along with a great chorus; the hard edged, but the moody Forever is a 6 minute epic that is straight out of Bob Catley’s The Tower.
The Hardest Fall features one of the best choruses as it moves swiftly, delivering some brilliant British AOR bathed in keyboards and a strong guitar lead; Bleed is another ultra-moody track I could hear Gary Hughes singing; and Where Does Your Heart Beat Now is a cool more laid back track.
The faster and more urgent Bound By The Strings of Discord sees the band fired up and rocking, with Payne delivering a particularly good vocal; the 6 minute Circle Of Knives is another track that is pure Gary Hughes and again doesn’t forget to deliver a good chorus.
Such A Long Way Down builds vocal intensity throughout the song to good effect and the last track Suicide Days closes out a very consistent and enjoyable record.

If there was an album I’d recommend fans of Gary Hughes purchase, it would be this hands down. Classic Ten and the best of the first two Serpentine records combine to take the band in a brand new direction.
If you haven’t checked this out and the description appeals, then do so as a matter of importance!

SLIK TOXIC 'Irrelevant' Once Again on Perris Records

Perris Records is pleased to announce the re-release of SLIK TOXIK's 'Irrelevant' CD. Featuring a bonus track of White Lies/Black Truth a 1989 Demo.

'Irrelevant' is the third release and second full length album by Canadian Hard Rock band Slik Toxik. The album was originally released in 1994 during a turbulent time for Hard Rock.

This was a time when the airwaves and magazines were being bombarded with the advent of Alternative, Grunge and pop groups. After the release of their debut CD 'Doin' the Nasty' selling well over 50,000 units in Canada (Gold Status) and receiving the Juno Award (Canadian Grammy) for Hard Rock album of the year, the climate in the music industry started to change. 'It was a crazy time for us, as we like so many other rockers were in a state flux' recalls lead vocalist Nicholas Walsh, 'we were in a darker place'. Met with critical acclaim, this eclectic collection of songs has been touted by some critics as being 'ahead of its time' with hard hitting de-tuned riffs, snarly vocals and bombastic drumming.

The band went on to only having a Canadian release with this recording and touring across Canada multiple times before calling it quits and going their separate ways in 1995. 'Dive' and 'Twenty Something' were released as singles and videos. The album was recorded in Toronto at Phase One Studios again with producer Paul Gross at the helm.
