Memphis, Tennessee hard rockers Roxy Blue are back with their first album of new material in 27 years, after their now legendary debut album, "Want Some”, has become a classic of the late ‘80s/early '90s hard rock scene. Original members Todd Poole (vocals), Josh Weil (bass), and Scotty Trammell (drums) are now joined by new guitarist Jeffrey Wade Caughron. (Original guitarist Sid "Boogie" Fletcher has left the music business for a successful career in dentistry.)

ROXY BLUE's self-titled album will be released August 9th via Frontiers Music Srl. Listen to the new single "Silver Lining” NOW!

"Silver Lining" was actually the last song written and recorded for the record. After recording the song, everything sounded great, but for some reason the hook of the song kept bothering me. The guys in the band suggested that I just write another hook . One night I was driving home from the studio and I accidentally pulled up the version that had no vocals on it and just started singing something completely different. I finished the new lyrics that night. The next day I went and recorded the new vocal about turning a negative into a positive," says vocalist Todd Poole of how 'Silver Lining' came together.

Todd Poole on what fans can expect from the new album: "ROXY BLUE fans can expect an explosive new album! I think the new record is definitely a different sound than the 1992 version of ROXY BLUE, but not unrecognizable. The new record is much heavier, but still has some cool ballads and hints of early ROXY in there. I feel that it's a well-balanced record."

He continues, "I have been writing songs for years for different projects I've been in, but when Frontiers called, I knew it was an opportunity to take a fresh approach to the ROXY BLUE sound. The excitement of having a new record deal actually inspired me to write the songs for the upcoming record from scratch."

On the band's legacy, Poole says, "for 'Want Some' to be recognized as one of the finest moments in the latter hard rock days is an honor. Especially being that there were so many good bands out at the time. We were just so proud to be a part of a great rock era."

Formed in Memphis in late 1989 by Poole, Fletcher, Weil, and Trammell, ROXY BLUE started out playing original music from the get-go, with their sights set on putting their music in front of a national and then global audience. Knowing that their dreams were not going to come easy, the guys put their all into step one of their journey, which was to get started playing every gig they could get and opening for every band they could, to get themselves noticed in the local Memphis music scene. Crammed in together in a studio apartment above Cotton Row Studios, the guys were constantly writing and recording new songs and living a 24-hour rock 'n' roll lifestyle miles and miles away for the Sunset Strip of Los Angeles. Quickly earning a name for themselves within the local Memphis music scene and selling out club shows, they soon created a buzz in the music industry. But it wasn't until one night while playing a local bar they were approached by Jani Lane, the vocalist of WARRANT, that things really started to take off. Jani loved what he heard and wanted to help get ROXY BLUE's career launched. Soon after, the labels started calling and eventually Geffen Records' legendary A&R guru Tom Zutaut flew the band to Los Angeles to sign them. The next step was to find the right producer to record the band's debut album. Mike Clink, who had produced GUNS N' ROSES milestone "Appetite For Destruction" and, at the time, was finishing up GN'R's "Use Your Illusion", was ultimately chose for the job. Clink and ROXY BLUE were a perfect match and the result was the 1992 release of "Want Some".

And a fun fact for fans of the Frontiers label: Poole is the son-in-law of the late, great Jimi Jamison, whom Frontiers had a great, longstanding working relationship with.

"In March 2017, the Graham Bonnet Band went to Japan for our first headline dates as GBB. We also did a full Alcatrazz set that same night featuring Gary Shea, which was released last year by Frontiers, titled “Parole Denied” and included a bonus album of some Alcatrazz rarities. For the GBB part of the show, we put together a great setlist covering the main eras of my career. It was a great night and this live album and video look fantastic...I’d say it’s the definitive Graham Bonnet Band live/video release. Great light show, visuals and sound. This was and is intended to be the companion piece to the Alcatrazz “Parole Denied” live release taken from the same night. As a bonus, we have included a revised studio version of the GBB song “The Crying Chair," says Graham Bonnet.
On March 16, 2017, the Graham Bonnet Band played a very special show in Tokyo, Japan. The set included songs from the band’s repertoire alongside a number of Rainbow, MSG, Impellitteri, and Bonnet solo classics. It was a unique setlist and show, a chance for fans in attendance to experience a number of hidden classics from Graham Bonnet’s repertoire that covers his 40+ year career in the rock ‘n roll business.
"Live In Tokyo 2017" can be considered an accompanying piece to last year’s “Parole Denied - Tokyo 2017” release from Alcatrazz. To refresh your memory, founding Alcatrazz members, Graham Bonnet (vocals), Jimmy Waldo (keyboards) and Gary Shea (bass), reunited after 33 years for a unique series of shows in Osaka, Nagoya, and Tokyo, Japan in March 2017, during Graham Bonnet Band's tour of Japan. Frontiers released footage from these shows last December. http://radi.al/AlcatrazzParoleDenied

French Hard Rockers Sign to SPV Worldwide

Artist:

New studio album by the french Hard Rock band BLACKRAIN has been announced for September 2019

For, having formed in 2006 in the French Alps and with five albums under their belts, countless concerts in France, Europe and even Japan and Tunisia, BlackRain know for a fact this forthcoming year is undoubtedly one more step in their career. During many years spent learning the tortuous ways of Rock 'n' Roll, the band met a lot of great bands like Europe, Papa Roach, Alice Cooper, Scorpions, Steel Panther, Ugly Kid Joe with whom they played. “France’s got Talent” national TV show allowed them to delivered memorable live performances to an audience of several million that made a French hard rock band famous in France for the first and the last time in the history of the show.

But after two albums produced by big US producer Jack Douglas (Aerosmith, John Lennon), how could the band reach a bigger level? How to find more inspiration? Maybe by coming back to the roots of what made four friends playing in a band together, by simply composing songs they would love to hear today on the radio: catchy and heady hard rock hits. You can maybe call it out-of-date, but BlackRain call it the gasoline they need to travel in today’s world.

Composed and recorded in Sweden where Swan, the frontman, is permanently settled, this new album called “Dying Breed” is like a response to the way the music world goes. Surrounded by electro music and RnB, struck by the death of many of their idols that made the rock history, asked by people why they still wear this old-fashioned long hair, the four guys more and more felt like a dying breed, “the last of their kind” as it is said in the new song they unveil on June 06th before they hit the mainstage of Hellfest in France.

Of prime importance was to work again with Swedish producer Chris Laney, the guy that made “License to Thrill”. This BlackRain album is still considered by many fans as a mythical and a major piece in the revival hard-rock scene that appeared in the 2010’s. He is the man that has really understood the sound and the spirit of BlackRain as he produced masterpieces of this scene with Crashdïetor Crazy Lixx...

To be released September 13th by german label SPV/Steamhammer, the new album “Dying Breed” will be followed by a European tour with their friends from Kissin’ Dynamite
