PAUL DEAN's 'Hardcore' Solo Album Arrives At Digital

Paul Dean's debut solo album, Hard Core, originally released in 1989 on Columbia Records, is now available for the first time digitally on all major online streaming outlets, including Spotify, Apple Music, iTunes, and Google Play, among others.

Hard Core spotlights Dean's fiercely distinctive guitar work on a series of songs that rock hard and show off classic influences like Duane Eddy, Luther Perkins, Hank Marvin, Jeff Beck and Jimi Hendrix. The album's first single, "Sword & Stone," a mythic tale of King Arthur and Excalibur written by Paul Stanley, Bruce Kulick and Desmond Child, was originally slated for KISS' Crazy Nights album. The video for the track can still be seen on YouTube. Desmond originally pitched the song to Dean during the New Jersey sessions where Paul co-wrote "Notorious" with Jon Bon Jovi and Richie Sambora, (with additional contributions from Mike Reno and the late Todd Cerney), which appeared on Loverboy's Wildside album in 1987.

Another track on the album, "Under the Gun," features a Jon Bon Jovi harmonica solo, which took place while Dean was mixing his album at Vancouver's Little Mountain Sound Studios with Bob Rock, while Bon Jovi were making New Jersey in an adjacent room with producer Bruce Fairbairn.  "Draw the Line," written by Bryan Adams and Jim Vallance, was previously recorded by Ted Nugent for his 1984 Penetrator album, with vocals by Brian Howe, who was Paul Rodgers' replacement as lead singer in Bad Company. Coincidentally, when Dean went out on tour to promote Hard Core, his band opened for the same Bad Company, fronted by Howe. Other tracks include the rocking, self-penned "Doctor," the raucous fan favorite "Black Sheep", "Action" (co-written with Loverboy rhythm section, drummer Matt Frenette and bassist Kenneth "Spider" Sinnaeve and dedicated to Kenny Shields, who recently passed away) and the very timely "Politics," which was originally a stab at a well-known Canadian pop singer's hypocritical stance. With a grin, it is still someone Dean still refuses to identify by name.

After Hard Core, Dean went on to record two more "solo" albums, including Machine, released in 1995 by Strawberry Records in Canada, and Blackstone, featuring singer Marc LaFrance, in 1997.

"Hard Core" was produced by Dean's pal, Chilliwack/Headpins member, Brian "Too Loud" MacLeod, who died just over three years after its release. "What an amazing cat," Dean reminisces. "He was so high-energy, always up.  I never heard a negative word from him about anyone. He was a total recording nerd, a pioneer at splicing together different bits from the multi-track."

The digital release of Hard Core is just a prelude for Paul Dean's long-awaited new material, which he has been working on, promising an ongoing series of single releases described as "pop tunes, a couple of ballads and some 'balls to the wall' metal stuff."

LOVERBOY's almost four-decade-long career began in Calgary when Paul met vocalist Mike Reno, with the two eventually joined by keyboardist Doug Johnson, drummer Matt Frenette and bassist Ken "Spider" Sinnaeve, who replaced the late founding member Scott Smith in 2000. The band has four multi-platinum albums, including the four-million-selling Get Lucky, and a trio of double-platinum releases in their self-titled 1980 debut, 1983's Keep It Up and 1985's Lovin' Every Minute of It. Their string of hits includes, in addition to the arena-rock anthem "Working for the Weekend," such staples as "Lovin' Every Minute of It," "This Could Be the Night," "Hot Girls in Love," "Heaven In Your Eyes," "Turn Me Loose," "When It's Over" and "Queen of the Broken Hearts."

Frontiers Music Srl is thrilled to announce the signing of CoreLeoni, who will release a very special album in February 2018.

Who is CoreLeoni you ask? It is a project founded by none other than GOTTHARD guitarist and founder Leo Leoni to pay a very personal tribute to his ROCK & ROLL past!

In Leo's words, "On the 25th anniversary of the release of the first GOTTHARD album, I wanted to pay tribute to songs like: DOWNTOWN, FIREDANCE, HIGHER, HERE COMES THE HEAT, IN THE NAME, RIDE ON…., LET IT BE, and ALL I CARE 4. Songs that with Gotthard we have kind of left aside. We've re-recorded, refreshed, and "re-brushed" them in a respectful way. These songs are very dear to me and they are part of a period that will remain forever with me."

Joining CoreLeoni on this release:

Ronnie Romero (Lords Of Black, Rainbow): vocals
Hena Habegger : drums
Jgor Gianola : guitar
Mila Merker : bass

Leo Leoni dusted these songs off and brough a new life to these overlooked masterpieces from his past. The album will also include a new song, “Walk On Water", which will be released in December.

"This CoreLeoni project made me feel so many emotions and memories, filling my heart with joy. I hope hearing these new versions gives all the Gotthard fans, especially the ones who knew and loved the band in the early days, the same great emotions that it has brought to me," concludes Leo.

The band will also appear live in Switzerland for the following shows:

21.12. Temus, Agno
22.12. Musigburg, Aarburg
23.12. Harley Heaven, Dietikon
30.12. Piazza, Lugano – Radiofestival

Stay tuned for more news and more shows!

December 8th sees IDEFI, the material that should have made up Houston based progressive metallers DRIVE's third album, finally hit the streets in a proper release.  Working very closely with the band members and their families, IDEFI is not a reissue, rather, a celebration of singer David Earl Taylor and founder member / guitarist Rick Chavez, lives.  The album features a huge 24 page booklet, liner notes from Chris Leibundgut, heartfelt tributes to both Chavez and Taylor and the first 100 orders will also include a Rick Chavez guitar pick replica. The album is limited to 500 copies.

On December 15th, both ALISTAIR TERRY's Yonge at Heart and LION's Dangerous Attraction will be rolled out.  TERRY's Yonge at Heart (a reference to his favourite street in Toronto, Yonge Street) is a power pop / melodic rock slice of heaven and was recorded after the Pet Hate frontman's former band had called it a day.  The album features a deluxe 16 page booklet, lyrics, liner notes written by Rob Lane and is limited to 500 copies.  LION's highly sought after Dangerous Attraction is considered a hard rock masterpiece of the highest order by many fans of the genre.  The album, the band's first full length, was originally issued by Scotti Bros in 1987 and featured a reworking of their independent hit "Powerlove."  The remastered reissue also includes the "Transformers" theme song as well as a 16 page booklet, extensive liner notes detailing the band's history written by Chris Leibundgut and is limited to 500 copies.

Freedom Call Mastermind CHRIS BAY Delivers Solo Debut

CHRIS BAY - Solo album from the FREEDOM CALL singer/guitar player coming in February 2018 - First single out December 1.

It's a well-known predicament that the Freedom Call founder and frontman shares with many other composers: occasionally, his wealth of inspiration goes beyond the stylistic and thematic scope of his own band. 'I permanently write songs and am constantly working on ideas in the studio,' he explains. 'That's why I've collected a whole lot of tracks over the years that on the one hand don't really suit Freedom Call and on the other are just too good to gather dust in my archive.' The solution to his 'luxury' problem: 23 February 2018 will see the release of Chris Bay's first solo album Chasing The Sun on Steamhammer/SPV, committing himself in his very own, unmistakable way to the music that has inspired him since the very early days of his career. And although the songs on the album were created over a long period of time, Bay produced the whole material in spring 2017 at his own studio.

Which must be one of the reasons why Chasing The Sun – despite the diversity of the individual tracks – sounds all of a piece. Alongside a numbeer of rock songs in characteristic Chris Bay style, he has skilfully blended in modern sound elements on the opening track ´Flying Hearts`, added Wurlitzer piano touches, which bring to mind the currently trendy 1970s, on ´Hollywood Dancer` and risked a song with a slow shuffle groove, a consciously dark atmosphere and an avant-garde flair in ´Where Waters Flow In Heaven`.

In stark contrast to this is the first single release 'Radio Starlight' with its obvious airplay potential, which will be released digitally on 01 December 2017 and to which there will be also a video clip, which triggers with tantalizing images wanderlust and will definitely makes you hungry for more. This title once again underscores the boundless ease with which Chris Bay moves in his world of music. As the album title "Chasing the Sun" already suggests, Chris Bay casually processed the desires and wishes that probably each of us holds in this dark season.. sun, freedom, warmth and harmony ... a "summer hit" in winter, a matter of interpretation.

Deever is a modern hard rock band that has rock fans talking all over the United Kingdom.  Hailing from the northeast of England, Deever deliver an onslaught of aggressive riffs, and captivating hooks with a distinct British edge. The fresh music of Deever packs a powerfully tuneful punch to the ears of their listeners.
After writing, and releasing two albums with his previous classic rock outfit (the second of which made it to number 1 in the official U.K rock charts), Billy Taylor (ex-Inglorious) decided to construct a band with a sound more fitting to his own more modern taste. With influences including Foo Fighters, Alter Bridge, Muse and Shinedown; the band has developed a fresh spin on the rebellious modern rock sound with their infectious melodies.
As with his prior band, Billy Taylor once again brings his guitar prowess to Deever, but also steps forward as Deever’s assailable lead vocalist. Joining Billy on guitar, and as a backing vocalist, is the fiery play of Stevie Stoker. Phil Appleton provides the band’s rigorous rhythm and grooves on bass, and rounding out Deever’s line-up is the thunderous playing of Dan ‘Higgy’ Higgins on drums. To officially launch the band, Deever have released their first single, and music video for the song ‘Fire At Will’.
Deever are currently recording their debut record at Parr Street Studios in Liverpool and North Red Studios in Darlington.
