King Of Hearts Rides Again
Dear Kickstarter Friends - It’s Tommy Funderburk and Bruce Gaitsch here, founders of the band King of Hearts. We’re coming to you to say "Thank You!” for your amazing support over the years and to tell you WE HEARD YOU! You kept asking us for new music and so, today we’re announcing, King Of Hearts will ride again! Bruce and I have written 17 new songs, recruited a who’s who of our music friends, booked one of the best studios on the planet and we’re recording our new album in January 2019 at Addiction Sound Studios in Nashville!
We’re going to have a blast, and we want you to be a part from the very beginning. And yes, we did assemble some serious swag for everyone who helps us make it happen!
First: THE BAND (these guys are dangerous):
CJ Vanston: Keyboards, Arranging, Writing – produced Toto’s critically acclaimed, Toto XIV CJ is reuniting with the band (he played on our first album) and then went on to write record and produce for Prince, 'NSync, Barbra Streisand, Ringo Starr, Celine Dion, Bob Seger, Richard Marx, Tina Turner, Joe Cocker, Spinal Tap and many more.
Keith Carlock: Drums – Currently on tour with Steely Dan, Keith was our first call. Keith’s drumming can be heard on records by Toto, James Taylor, Donald Fagen, Walter Becker, John Mayer, Sting and many more.
John Patitucci – Bass. John’s Back! John’s played brilliantly with us on the Joy Will Come album. His credits include Grammy Award Nominee, Most Valuable Player, National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences: Best Jazz Bassist, Guitar Player magazine Readers' Poll, Best Bassist, Bass Player magazine Readers' Poll and on and on.
And for all you fans of West Coast Music: If you look through the credits of our earlier work, you will see and hear some of the best players and singers on the planet…and we’re inviting all our friends to join us on this record as our very “special guests” - details to be announced at a later date.
Anyone up for hearing Bill Champlin, Timothy B. Schmit and Tommy Funderburk together again? Everyone involved with this project is “over the moon” and we hope that you will join us in what will be an amazing musical event.
