FREAK KITCHEN - "Morons" (New Single)

With their new album ‘Confusion to the Enemy’ due for release on September 21, Sweden’s mighty Freak Kitchen are releasing a little taster in the form of new single ‘Morons’.

More on Freak Kitchen…Formed in Gothenburg in 1992 by guitarist Mattias ‘Ia’ Eklundh, Freak Kitchen soon began to earn a reputation for their ‘Corny-heavy-pop-rock-Latin-world-jazz-avant-garde-metal-blues-straight from hell’ and Eklundh in particular was in high-demand, with his guitar playing featuring on albums by Soilwork, Evergrey, Bumblefoot (Sons of Apollo/Guns n Roses), Jonas Hellborg, Panzerballet, amongst others…

Since then the band have continued in their singular vision, making a series of acclaimed albums that reflect their unbridled love of music of all kinds. Citing influences from Slayer to Dean Martin, Kiss to Mahavishnu Orchestra, Frank Zappa to Indian Carnatic music, a Freak Kitchen album is always a wide-reaching, experimental/progressive/metal smorgasbord.

FREAK KITCHEN Release 'Freak Of The Week' Video

It's been a long time coming, but Freak Kitchen are very excited to release the incredible animated video for the new single 'Freak Of The Week'.

You can check out the amazing clip for 'Freak Of The Week' here;

'Freak Of The Week' sees the vision hugely talented artist Juanjo Guarnido come to life in this startlingly potent video.

The band have been blown away by Guarnido's amazing work and have this to say about the project;

'Ladies and Gentlemen! This is it - the moment of truth! "Freak of the Week", the animated video by our beloved Juanjo Guarnido is unleashed! We can't really fathom this, to tell you the truth... It's a quite surreal experience to see our good selves animated in such a grand way after all the painstaking work of Guarnido and his enormously dedicated team. We sincerely hope you will dig this as much as we do and support Juanjo and team as much as you can.'

The artist himself adds; 'After almost a year of exhausting work, with moments of disappointment and anxiety, but mainly made of enthusiasm and marked by the exhilarating pleasure of practicing that beautiful and noble art of hand-drawn animation, WE MADE IT. I'm not exaggerating at all when I say that the effort brought in by my team was simply colossal. Particularly by that selfless squad (Julien, Mandy, Yann, I owe you big time) who stood up night after night so we could bring the project to you today. From the bottom of my heart, thanks to all of you who, often for free, contributed to the movie with your work, your talent and your enthusiasm. To Steve Morger for the precious help. To Freak Kitchen for inspiring and supporting this adventure. And especially to Fortiche Studio and Pascal Charrue for making this dream come true.'

The amazing new album 'Cooking With Pagans' is out now!

Swedish trio Freak Kitchen are back with Cooking with Pagans, their eight and most frantic album to date. The band has always been a tremendously respected live act and for the first time the energetic live vibe of Freak Kitchen has been captured in the studio. With influences stretching from AC/DC to classical South Indian music the three norsemen, lead by guitar virtuoso Mattias IA Eklundh, truly have a sound of their own.

Cooking with Pagans offer eleven intense original songs plus a sophisticated punk pop version of the 1936 hit Goody Goody like you never heard it before. Solid, inspired song writing (not to say playing) from start to finish.

Thanks to a hugely successful Kickstarter campaign, bringing in almost $150,000, a very ambitious animated video, directed by legendary artist (and author of Blacksad) Juanjo Guarnido to the track Freak of the Week is in pain staking production by a world class team of animators. The video will premiere at Comic Con in New York in October.

Freak Kitchen will tour the world from November and the better part of 2015 to support their new release.

The band:
Mattias IA Eklundh, vocals, guitar
