NIGHTWISH, a breathe taking live act known to tantalise, mesmerise, inspire and captivate their audience from the opening note until the last encore is heading to Australia after performing to sold out shows back in 2013.

With a line up heading by the orchestration, direction and musical genius of the band creator and keyboardist: Tuomas Holopainen, the brilliant vocal range of Floor Jansen, the great guitar work from Emppu Vuorinen (lead/rhythm) and Marco Hietala (bass/backing vocals) all intertwined with the uplifting and atmospheric pipe work from Troy Donockley,
NIGHTWISH have very few, if any other comparisons in the music industry; this is what sets them apart, this is the phenomena that is NIGHTWISH.

Having charted at number 16 on the Australian national charts (ARIA) with their latest release ENDLESS FORMS MOST BEAUTIFUL,
NIGHTWISH will be performing tracks from that album plus performing their entire classic and fan favourite tracks on the tour.

NIGHTWISH will be performing ONLY one show per major capital city.

NIGHTWISH will release their anticipated new studio album ' Endless Forms Most Beautiful' on March 27. It will be the band's first to feature vocalist FLOOR JANSEN.

It's time for the release the ninth album trailer! In this episode mixing engineer Mikko Karmila, as well as mastering engineer Mika Jussila give an insight into their work on »Endless Forms Most Beautiful«.
Tuomas commented: “I guess mixing an album can be compared to editing a movie. We have to arrange the clips into a dramatic arc and find a good balance.”

NIGHTWISH – release new single 'Élan' on February 13

2014-12-08 - Finland-based symphonic metal storytellers NIGHTWISH are currently working on their upcoming new album, which is set for a release in spring 2015 via Nuclear Blast.

Today NIGHTWISH announces the release of their first single called 'Élan', which will be out on February 13, 2015 via Nuclear Blast.

Commented NIGHTWISH keyboardist and songwriter Tuomas Holopainen: “This beautiful quote from my hero Uncle Walt was the starting point for writing 'Élan'. The underlying theme of the song is nothing less than the meaning of life, which can be something different for all of us. It´s important to surrender yourself to the occasional 'free fall' and not to fear the path less travelled by. 'Élan' is a wonderful teaser for the full-length album, giving out a little taste, but revealing very little of the actual Journey of Grandeur to come…”

NIGHTWISH also revealed the famed evolutionary biologist and writer, Professor Richard Dawkins as a guest on their eighth studio album.
The yet-untitled new studio album will be the first one to feature Dutch vocalist Floor Jansen.

Longtime drummer Jukka Nevalainen will sit out on the recording sessions due to health issues; Kai Hahto (WINTERSUN a.o.) will replace him.
