Boxed anniversary set Timekeeper scheduled for October release 
 
Northern German melodic metal band Mob Rules are back with Steamhammer/SPV. A few days ago the group, who are celebrating their 20th anniversary this year, signed a new deal and are returning to the record company which already released and distributed five of their previous studio albums. 'For us it's a great pleasure to have signed with Steamhammer,' comments the band. 'We're looking forward to the collaboration with Olly Hahn and his team, who supported us in both word and deed in the years between 1999 and 2008 and whose expertise we greatly value.' Steamhammer's product manager Hahn is happy to return this compliment: 'Mob Rules have been among the most significant and impressive German melodic metal acts. We're proud to have them back on our roster.'
 
Mob Rules are set to launch the first result of this renewed worldwide cooperation, their 20th anniversary boxed set Timekeeper, on 13 October 2014 (Germany: 10 October 2014, US/Canada: 28 October 2014). Hahn: 'It's not every day that such a top-quality product arrives at the stores. The package consists of a best-of CD, a bonus DVD, a bonus CD featuring new and rerecorded songs, brilliant cover numbers and other surprises, including renowned guest musicians.' Steamhammer and Mob Rules will publish more details in the coming weeks, suffice it to say that their fans will be delighted.

The arrival of the boxed anniversary set will be supported by a number of anniversary shows with highlights such as the Break The Barriers festival in Wilhelmshaven (feat. Gamma Ray & Love.Might.Kill) and the Metal Hammer Paradise on the Baltic coast, among others.

New York, NY (August 6, 2014)—When the last notes rang out in the Dublin o2 on Saturday, April 12, 2014, the 9000 fans packing the venue knew that they were witnessing the end of something special.  The reunion that nobody thought would ever be possible had happened, but now the itch was scratched and that particular book was closed. 
 
On September 30, 2014, Status Quo will commemorate one very special night with the North American release of The Frantic Four’s Final Fling – Live At The Dublin 02 Arena on 2CD, double vinyl, and digital audio through earMUSIC / Edel / Eagle Rock Entertainment.
 
When the original line-up of Status Quo reunited for a 9-date UK tour in March 2013 the outpouring of approval and raw emotion from the fans was incredible. Public demand made the final tour of 2014 mandatory and it was just as emotional. Rossi, Parfitt, Lancaster and Coghlan received a rapturous response; the band clicked straight back into their groove, the chemistry obvious, the music stunning and the volume almost overpowering.  It all led to Dublin; the final show of the final tour. Ever.
 
The Frantic Four tours were highlights in a career that has seen Quo achieve more than anyone dreamed possible.  The Times (UK) said, “It sounded fantastic.  And they, like us, were clearly getting a tremendous kick out of revisiting these long-neglected songs.”  Classic Rock said, quite simply, “F*ck me, dreams can come true!” Dublin was a genuine milestone on the incredible road that Quo have traveled, and it’s captured in all its glory here: The Frantic Four´s Final Fling – Live At The Dublin 02 Arena.

UK Melodic Rockers VEGA to release their anticipated third album “Stereo Messiah” on Frontiers in October
 
British melodic rockers VEGA are back with their third studio album “Stereo Messiah” coming out on Frontiers on October 17th in Europe and October 21st in North America.
 
The new album marks the band’s return to the Frontiers label, after the release of their debut album “Kiss of Life” in December 2010. The new recording features 12 songs that literally rock from start to finish and will leave you wanting more! It also includes a song entitled “10 X Bigger than Love” which Def Leppard singer, Joe Elliott gave the band. He also appears dueting with singer Nick Workman on the song.
 
“Stereo Messiah” was recorded over 14 days in two sessions. The hard work was completed at Outhouse Studio’s in Reading, home to It Bites front-man John Mitchell. John worked with the band as the obligatory 6th member and helped VEGA achieve their most accomplished album to date. Once the album was recorded, John completed the mixing process and then passed the bat on to Harem Scarem’s Harry Hess, who mastered the album at his studio in Canada.

New South Florida Non-Profit Partners with 80’s in the Park Event to Raise Money to Assist with Music Therapy Sessions for Children with Autism.
 
Hollywood, FL – We Rock for Autism, a South Florida based non-profit organization, has teamed up with the 80’s in the Park event of Melbourne, FL to promote autism awareness and acceptance and raise funds to assist children with autism receive music and art therapy sessions.
Autism now effects 1 in 68 children. Although there are many theories on what causes the onset of autism, there is still no absolute answer. And, with all the advancements in diagnosis and treatment, there is still no cure. Research has shown that a vast amount of children with autism, respond very well to music therapy when used in conjunction with a comprehensive treatment program. Music therapy is often used to address non-musical goals and often mirror speech, occupational, and behavior therapists.
We Rock for Autism was founded to assist families in allowing their children, which have been diagnosed with autism, receive music therapy sessions that they would otherwise not be able to afford on their own. “We are honored to have the support of 80’s in the Park,” said Chris Wilson, President, We Rock for Autism. “To embrace the music them of our foundation and promote our cause at such an iconic event has us all thrilled. The promoters of the event could not be more supportive of our efforts and we hope to see everyone who attends stop by our booth and say hello.”
The popular 80’s in the Park event, which takes place in Melbourne FL on September 26th, 27th, and 28th of 2014 learned of the goals and mission of We Rock for Autism and immediately offered their assistance. The promoters of the event donated a sponsorship package to We Rock for Autism, which includes vendor space at the event, to allow them to promote their cause, as well as several tickets to the event to ensure the board members and their families would be able to attend and enjoy a weekend full of EVERYTHING 80’s…including some of the most popular rock bands, movies, toys, games and more from that awesome decade.

The remaining members of legendary metal pioneers RIOT are back and are ready to unleash the follow up to 2011’s reunion record ‘Immortal Soul’. They are ready to unleash music in the great RIOT tradition that the fans come to know and love. RIOT V is ready to ‘UNLEASH THE FIRE!’
 
This marks the first release from the band without the late great founding guitarist Mark Reale who passed away in early 2012 and was limited on his participation on Immortal Soul because of his health issues. The band was encouraged at the request of Mark and the Reale estate to forge ahead in his honor and will dedicate this new offering to him. The album promises to please fans of the ‘Thundersteel’ era of RIOT as main song writer and long time Reale music collaborator Don Van Stavern does much of the writing as he did on ‘Thundersteel’ and ‘The Privilege of Power’. Don is joined by long time RIOT band mate, song writer and Reales guitar partner of over 20 years Mike Flyntz to create what they feel is something they are proud to call a RIOT record and Reale would have thought that as well. RIOT has a tumultuous history of member, label and management changes throughout the bands 30 plus year career but one things for sure, a bands longevity is through good music and if this new record is any proof, they will be around for years to come.
 
RIOT, like Johnny, are back again! Through the storm of lifes obsticles the guys are joined by powerhouse vocalist extraordinaire Todd Michael Hall (Burning Starr, Reverence), Frank Gilchriest (Virgin Steele, Riot’s Army of One) and former Mike Flyntz guitar student and resident shredder Nick Lee and are ready to raise the flag in honor of the RIOT legacy of music and our fallen band mates and the fans who have been demanding RIOT for years. FLYING COLORS Announce Australian Release For October 3

Mascot Label Group and Flying Colors have announced an October 3 release date in Australia for the band's SECOND NATURE album via the Music Theories Recordings label, part of the Mascot Label Group. The album will be distributed locally by Warner.
 
 
 
Teaming the talents of such heavyweight names as guitarist Steve Morse (Deep Purple/Dixie Dregs/ex-Kansas), drummer Mike Portnoy (Transatlantic, Winery Dogs, ex-Dream Theater), Neal Morse (Transatlantic, Spock’s Beard and a prolific solo artist), bass player Dave LaRue (Dixie Dregs, Joe Satriani, Steve Vai and more) with a comparatively new talent, pop singer/songwriter Casey McPherson, the band challenged conventional wisdom about combining virtuoso music and melodic songwriting.
 
The critics were united in acknowledging the eponymously titled debut album from Flying Colors as among the most fascinating releases of 2012. The UK’s Classic Rock magazine hailed the band’s debut as “fearless”, praising its “Journey-sized choruses” and referencing artists as diverse as The Beatles, the Red Hot Chili Peppers, The Doors, Muse and even Frank Sinatra.

Flying Colors will be touring the US, Europe and the UK from October 2014.  No dates are currently scheduled for Australia, but we’re a country that the band would love to get to. Introducing Denmark's LUCER

LUCER, probably the most promising hard rock band out of Denmark in a decade. Big words, but ask anyone who've seen this band live and they will agree. Being hailed as the new D-A-D, the AC/DC of Denmark or simply just a fucking great rock'n'roll band, LUCER are coming at you fast and vigorously.
 
The band consists of the two charismatic brothers Lasse B'gemark and Anders B'gemark and drummer Jonathan N'rgaard and despite their young age, they have already played 70+ shows in Denmark, Sweden and Germany.
 
Michael H. Andersen, CEO & A&R from Target Group/Mighty Music witnessed the band live and was blown away. 'I seriously can't think of the last time I saw a Danish rock band that made such an honest and big impression on me. I just knew I had to work with these boys'.
 
Shortly after our young friends were introduced to Mike Tramp. Getting Tramp involved as a mentor turned out to be a good idea, as the chemistry between him and the band was both positive and constructive. Tramp continues to be onboard as a mentor for the band.  Mike Tramp says; 'You can't deny the energy that happens when an unspoiled youthful rock band put the pedal to the metal and crank it up to 11. It almost makes you wanna go back and and re-live it yourself again. Great to see new band emerging from the shores of Denmark, that even I like and approve of.'
 
Next step was to get LUCER into a professional studio. One thing is being a great live act, another is hitting the nail recording. Soren Andersen (Glenn Hughes, Electric Guitars) and Medley Studio was the obvious choice. And during just one intense day ' the 2nd of January with New Year Eve hangovers, the boys recorded two songs, 'Working In The Moonshine' and a cover version of Cliff Richard's 'Devil Woman'.
 
The rest is history... LUCER did what they had to do and more in the studio and the result is this self-titled 7' vinyl release.
 
'These 3 kids rock your sox off !!'was what Ken Anthony (ex-manager of Mercyful Fate & Pretty Maids) had to say the first time he saw LUCER live. Ken is now a proclaimed fan and side-man for the band.

New York, NY (August 4, 2014)—Eagle Records is delighted to announce the release of the Live At Bush Hall 2007 album from the late great Gary Moore on September 23, 2014.  This is the first ever release of this incredible show which contains several tracks that are not available in live versions anywhere else. 
 
Gary Moore was one of the finest and most respected guitarists of his generation, with a rich musical career both in bands and as a solo artist. He had a vibrant love affair with rock and the blues, which is proudly and loudly heard on Live At Bush Hall 2007.
 
This show, recorded at London’s Bush Hall on May 17th, 2007, was originally broadcast by Planet Rock radio. This is the first time the complete show has been made available outside of this original broadcast. The concert features a number of tracks from Gary’s then newly released Close As You Get album (Eagle Rock Entertainment), such as “Eyesight To The Blind,” and “I Had A Dream” many of which he rarely played live after this, alongside classics from his extensive back catalogue, such as “Don’t Believe A Word,” “Walking By Myself,” “Still Got The Blues,” and many more.
 
Gary Moore was an unmatched live performer, a virtuoso who also made a visceral connection with any audience, and Live At Bush Hall 2007 is a perfect representation of his masterwork onstage.

Tracii Guns releases the new album League of Gentleman "The Second Record" on Shrapnel Records

Tracii Guns, co-founder of LA GUNS and the original Guns N' Roses, and his group, 'Tracii Guns' League of Gentleman', are back with a strong follow up to last years 'First Record'. This sophomore release reveals more of their strong psychedelic rock influences and features inspired covers of tunes originally recorded by acts like The Sonics, The Rolling Stones, Neil Young, Big Star, The Frost and others.

Tracii Guns emerged on the LA Metal scene in the early 80's and was a founding member of the legendary rock band, Guns N' Roses. Prior to G N' R getting signed to Geffen records, Guns struck out on his own and formed L.A. Guns who got their start on Los Angeles' Sunset Strip. The band was formed in 1986 and signed with Polygram in 1987, recording their first album that summer. The self-titled L.A. Guns went on to sell 750,000 copies and earned the band it's first gold record. Tours with AC/DC, Iron Maiden, and Def Leppard followed. A video compilation from the first album also earned the band a gold video award. L.A. Guns went into the studio to record their second album 'Cocked and Loaded' in the Spring of 1989. The single and video 'Rip and Tear' were a hit right away followed by 'Never Enough' and 'Ballad Of Jayne' earning the band a platinum record. The video compilation for 'Cocked and Loaded' earned the band it's second gold video award. A successful World tour followed. The band's third album 'Hollywood Vampires' (1990) went on to sell 700,000 copies and earned a third gold album. In addition to his work with L.A. Guns, Tracii is also known for his work in the supergroup, Contraband with Michael Schenker, as well Brides of Destruction, a band which he co-founded with Motley Crue bassist, Nikki Sixx.

On The Second Record, Tracii Guns' League Of Gentlemen reveal their 60's psychedelic roots in this incredible collection of songs, faithfully reproduced with vintage sounds and stellar instrumental and vocal performances. The band's charismatic young frontman, Scott Foster Harris, hails from Texas and delivers soulful performances with deep inspiration from a time before he was born. Rock fans have seen Doni Gray play Drums for Burning Tree which also included Marc 'Muddy' Dutton of the Chris Robinson Brotherhood and Marc Ford who also played with Chris, while a member of The Black Crowes. Doni also played drums on Izzy Stradlin's Ju Ju Hounds record as well as Marc Ford's solo record. Craig 'Patches' McCloskey comes from Philly and, while a great guitar player, he plays bass in The League Of Gentlemen. John Bird, also from L.A., is the musician that every band wishes they had: a multi-instrumentalist who knows the in's and out's of music and plays an important role in the song writing process. Together they combine for an impressive musical alliance that has created a captivating piece of music.

Cross Plains, TN - Much to the excitement of Prog fans worldwide, Neal Morse will be releasing his eagerly anticipated new solo album 'Songs From November' on Aug. 19, 2014! Even a style as broad and accepting as Progressive Rock has its boundaries. Prog icon Neal Morse decided to break that mold and create a challenging new album. 'Songs From November' may be his bravest outing to date. Musically, creatively, and production-wise, it's like nothing he's ever done. Can you handle it?! It's an album of 'normal' songs! Songs even your friends might like!

Says Neal, 'I listen to a lot of different kinds of music for various occasions'prog albums when I really want to focus on intricate music'sometimes jazz and classical. But many times I find myself attracted to 'feel good' singer-songwriter albums like a Jackson Browne or Graham Nash record. So one day I thought to myself'I'd like to make an albuum like that! 'Songs From November' is that album.'

Morse wrote most of the songs during a flood of ideas in November, 2013. He recalls, 'They just kept pouring out that month'I don't really know why'but it wt was great!' After the epic Transatlantic world tour was completed in March 2014, Morse set out to make 'November' a reality. And he would craft it differently than anything before.

Says Neal, 'I could've gotten together with a bunch of studio musicians in Nashville and banged this thing out, but I felt like the thing to do was to get together with this young drummer named Gabe Klein and work on it as a team. He is only 18 years old and amazing! We had a great time recording these songs and many more. We actually recorded twice as many songs as we needed and picked the best ones. It was the first time I've ever done that and it was very fruitful. I sent out 21 songs to a bunch of different people that I trust and chose from their lists. So that was also a totally new approach for me.'

The final 11 songs are among the best that Neal has ever composed ' and the most surprising you will hear. In reinventing himself, he was ready to explore uncharted territory. Are you?

Over the past 2 years, MICHAEL VOSS and HOLGGY BEGG have created an alternative semi-accoustic two man orchestra live project called BEGGAR'S JAM, based in Switzerland: St. Gallen/Locarno.
The band tours Europe playing at music festivals, in big halls, clubs, local bars and more. From Malaga to Berlin they continue to rock audiences with a unique combination of original songs and selected classic cover.
 
In the 1980s Michael Voss had great success singing and playing guitar with bands such as Mad Max, Bonfire and Casanova. He is also well known for producing a variety of musicians including Silver, Michael Schenker, Herman Rarebell, Mickie Krause – to name a few. Together with Holggy Begg (Beggar's Bride, Crush-Zac-Begg, Noll), the two men have collaborated for 15 years on projects with musicians like Don Airey, Gary Barden, Mark Schulman, Molly Duncan and Dorkas Kiefer.
 
Together, MICHAEL VOSS and HOLGGY BEGG rock the stage and are truly a tour de force in the tradition of classic Rock'n Roll. Voss & Begg were also band members of Herman Rarebell's «Acoustic Fever» (Herman Rarebell – noted drummer and songwriter for the Scorpions from 1977-1997). Playing live as 'special guest' for Herman as well – as on the upcoming European tour, starting in October 2014 in Zurich, Switzerland.

STEVE LUKATHER Talks Up TOTO Live & Upcoming Album

TOTO guitarist Steve Lukather has given a couple of interviews in recent days, discussing new TOTO shows and the upcoming record due in early 2015.
 
In one for Sound & Vision (www.soundandvision.com/content/steve-lukather-sq-and-second-coming-toto), Luke gives  atantaising update: 
 
Lukather: "The record we're making is real hi-fi. It has that big, obnoxious production that people who love our music are really going to love: big harmonies, big synths, big guitars, big grooves, great virtuouso musicianship, and classic Toto melodies. Everybody sings on the record. It's very fresh-sounding."
