RIP Free's ANDY FRASER

Another day, another tragic loss for the music world. Free's bass player/songwriter ANDY FRASER has died at the age of just 62.

In the years between, that song became the gift-that-keeps-on-giving (All Right Now), generating millions of dollars for its authors. It was a No. 1 hit in over 20 countries and was recognized by ASCAP in 1990 for over 1 million radio plays in the U.S. alone. By Oct. of 2006, it passed the 3 million mark in plays in the U.K.

In 2005, the musician put out an extremely personal solo album, “Naked and Finally Free.” He came out as a gay man in an interview I conducted with him for the national gay and lesbian magazine The Advocate that year.
In more recent years, politics became more important to Fraser. He wrote a song to support the election of Barack Obama and donated proceeds from various songs to progressive and humanitarian causes. He also mentored young artists, like the guitar prodigy Tobi Earnshaw, producing albums for him and playing in his band.

At the time of his death, Fraser had talked about going on tour with Frankie Miller, another classic singer in the ‘60s British blues-rock mold.
The musician is survived by two daughters, Hannah and Jasmine Fraser.
For fans, Fraser will be remembered as a key player in rock’s golden age, a star who could use any instrument to create melodies and rhythms you couldn’t get out of your head.

RIP Drummer BRUCE CRUMP (China Sky, Molly Hatchet)

More bad news from the rock community - the death of drummer BRUCE CRUMP.

His China Sky bandmates posted this earlier today:

"It is with a heavy heart that we must announce the passing of our brother, Bruce Crump.

This sudden tragedy is like a kick to the gut. We could not have lost a more truly decent human being than Bruce. Our hearts go out to his wife Kristen, his mom, children, and family.

Not only was Bruce a genuinely nice person, but his talent was even bigger than his heart. When he agreed to join us in China Sky, we were humbled that THE Bruce Crump deemed us worthy of his time and talent, and boy, were we ever better off for it. We could not be more proud of the work he did on "China Sky II" and we are forever grateful to him.

I think we can all take just a bit of solace in the fact that he left us with so much of his talent on record over his 35 plus year career. I know his rock solid grooves, and the music he helped create, will be gracing many turntables, tape machines, ipods, smartphones, and whatever technology music comes out of tonight, tomorrow, and for many years to come."

UK Cult Classic Rock Group SAD CAFE Documentary DVD

Artist:
Monday, March 23, 2015

At home on stage and in the studio, seven-piece Sad Cafe followed 10cc out of Manchester and into the charts.

This hour-long TV showcase from the Rockstage series, filmed by Central Television, Nottingham, in 1980, majors on the hit album 'Facades', and includes the hits 'Strange Little Girl', 'Every Day Hurts' and 'My Oh My'.

Fronted by charismatic singer Paul Young, who went on to find success with Genesis spin-off, Mike + The Mechanics, and who sadly passed away in 2000, Sad Caf' were at their peak in 1980 coming off of the success of their top 5 hit, 'Every Day Hurts' from the top 10 album 'Facades'

Paul's wife Pat Young, drummer Dave Irving and guitarist Ashley Mulford have supplied their memories of a night that caught Sad Cafe at the height of their performing powers.

They were arguably a band out of time in the new-wave era, but their musicianship and showmanship has stood the test of time.

This set, released in the UK on March 23rd, features a full DVD of the performance and a bonus CD of the entire show. Find Sad Caf' on Facebook here: https://www.facebook.com/SadCafeTourDatesAndNews

JOE MATERA Continues Guitar Legacy with 'Louder Than Words'

LOUDER THAN WORDS - JOE MATERA

Press Release: For Australian rocker Joe Matera, 'Louder Than Words', makes it clear from the outset that he has moved on both musically and lyrically. Words have now gathered and drifted in top position on half of the songs, now carrying darker, headier themes that seem fittingly in sync with the times we find ourselves living through.
Take Joe's brief and precocious opener, 'Intro 1 V'. Just a morsel, really, but one that offers hints of Nine Inch Nails and elements of Germanic angst. Not a strain that has featured too heavily in Joe's previous outings. The darkness floods through the preceding single and title song.

Thumping slowly through a rhythmic, a song of self-analysis, ironically suggesting that images, symbols and, I guess, sounds can speak louder to the soul that words. Within the context of this album, with its array of lyrical themes, a lovely juxtaposition. Throughout the nine tracks, there remains one constant. I refer to my opening statement. Today's Joe Matera sound is a gargantuan, grey, rolling tank, softened beautifully by the cushion of production. On top of this gentle darkness sit both lyrics and melodies that, in place, evoke the most unlikely genres. Take 'Movin' On', slotting neatly in place here is a most unexpected hint of '80s pop ... that bright, brash, courageously unpretentious glare that gave us such glorious lightness. A song that, indeed, flits between the black and the white.

And that is the key to the entire album, really. A truly unexpected place where eclecticism marries traditional tendencies. In an age when simplistic genre template artists remain depressingly in place, here is an album of the guitar, the voice and other machines. Louder Than Words is officially released via W.A.R. Productions/Mercury Fire Music on April 28, 2015.

M.ILL.ION main man beats death and forms new band!

B.J LANEBY Bass guitar

After 25 years, seven highly critically acclaimed albums, charting and international touring, M.ILL.ION founder and bass guitarist B.J Laneby decided to put the band to rest. Now he´s back with a strong new band from Sweden and he´s very excited about it. B.J: “ At the end of our [M.ILL.ION] UK tour with Heaven & Earth last summer, I became very ill and actually nearly died. I literally had one foot in the grave. After spending several months in intensive care both in England and in Sweden and once conscious and recovering, let´s say I had a lot of time to think… A situation like that makes one get a new perspective on life, believe me!  Musicwise... I needed new energy and found myself curious about the prospect of playing with other musicians. The M.ILL.ION members were of course great and I´m really proud of what the different lineups of that band have created through the years. It´s been a tremendous ride that took me to the international stages, worldclass studios, and made me a colleague of several of my former teenage idols! However, it became evident that now is the time for me to move on and turn the page. Time to leave the comfort zone and collaborate with a new team. And, I am grateful to have found some super-talented guys!  To alleviate any possible confusion, let me clarify...INSTINCT is a BAND, not a project!”

STEFANO MARCHESINI Lead vocals

BJ: Ever since I heard him sing in a Rainbow tribute-band and then coproduced the debut of his former band Human Race back in the 90`s, I always had this guy in mind. Fantastic voice and a nice guy. No wonder he´s been compared to “Dio and Jeff Scott Soto on a good day” by critics. I´d like to add that he knows his Coverdale and Paul Stanley as well.

MAGNUS MILD Lead guitar

BJ: He was recommended to me by Stefano and what a monster he is! A true guitar hero nailing everything from blues and rock´n roll to really advanced progressive music. Has a very melodic feeling as well, something I really appreciate. Came to the audition wearing a vintage KISS Cobo Hall t-shirt, which of course didn´t close any doors ;-)

JOHAN HÄLL Drums

BJ: I brought him from M.ILL.ION´s last line up. He was never on any of our records, but has sure proved himself on tours. He´s great to play with and has that Ian Paice - swing. Cool overall musician as well, not that common for drummers. Looking forward to finally record with him and adding to that I´m afraid there might be some laughs on tour…

TBA:  Keyboards

BJ: A keyboardist/organist is required as well, but, as of this writing, the right player hasn´t showed up yet. Until this happens, sessionplayers will be used. Style of music: Well, let´s just say the auditions included songs from Deep Purple, Whitesnake and Thin Lizzy as well as M.ILL.ION material that B.J wrote or co-wrote. This should give you an idea of the musical direction...however, everybody involved will bring something to the table...so look forward to high quality classic hard rock with melodies and some twists. Expect the band´s debut single and video to be released in the spring of 2015 followed by a full album. Stay tuned for more news soon!

NC Musician, Clay Howard, to release first solo album on April 17 via Rocksteady Records

Long Time North Carolina musician and author, Clay Howard will release his first full-length solo album on April 17, 2015 via rocksteady records.

The 10 song collection was produced and recorded with Minneapolis producer/musician, Brynn Arens. Mr. Arens is the lead singer and guitarist for The Oddfathers, and former lead singer of 90's favorites, Flipp.

"After the demise of my long-time band, stratocruiser, I wanted to put something out that reflected more of my own musical vision. With stratocruiser I was chiefly a lyricist, and wanted to release songs that were my own from conception to recording." said Clay. "I reached out to Brynn on a lark, and to my great surprise he said "yes! The resulting album is a nice 10 song slice of genuine rock and roll."

The album, entitled, Who the Hell is Clay Howard, will be available at all the usual online retailers and digital outlets, as well as via one of Clay's websites: www.clayhoward.com or www.thesilveralerts.com.

A lyrics video has been released in advance of the album: www.youtube.com/watch?v=05hGTTrWfzo

About Clay Howard: Clay is a 25+ year veteran of the NC music scene, having released 10 albums of original material in various bands. He currently resides in Kernersville, NC with his wife and three of his four children, their dogs, Scout and Atticus, and one fat cat- Calpurrnia.

Producer Toby Wright Looks Back on KISS’ Carnival of Souls

Artist:
Tuesday, March 17, 2015
Categories:
Podcasts & Radio

Famed producer Toby Wright guests on the Decibel Geek podcast for a 2 part Albums Unleashed special covering KISS' controversial 1997 release Carnival of Souls.

Recommended by producer Bob Ezrin, Wright remembers his initial meeting with Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley, which took place at A&M Studios: “They kinda put it in my ear why I was there. They wanted to follow a little hip trend going on at the time called Grunge music. The bottom line was, like all artists, they wanted to sell records. Y’know, they want to be on top of the pile. Gene has a big competitive personality so he’s all about being on the top of the pile and whatever it takes to get there.”

Then-guitarist Bruce Kulick was a large creative force during the making of the album. Wright shares his memories of Kulick’s importance as well as a directive from him during pre-production meetings about how to get the most out of Simmons and Stanley for this very different album for KISS. “Bruce and I got really close during that whole record because he played most of the record. Without Bruce, this record wouldn’t exist, ever. During those initial “nobody’s around” conversations, I got inspiration from Bruce and instructions from Bruce that were like “You are gonna have to push the fuck out of these guys (Simmons & Stanley). Don’t be afraid.”

Other advice came from Ezrin who had worked with KISS on their previous album Revenge, “Bob’s told me some stories about Gene. He’s like “Watch out. One fucking smell of weakness and he’ll be all over you.” I’ll always remember that comment. So, I was like “Okay. I’m never gonna show any fear whatsoever that I’m in a room with one of my heroes. He’ll never know that.” He’ll take advantage; big time. He’ll smell fear in your eyes, it’s over for you as far as having any kind of control over a situation; especially in a producer situation where I’m in the studio co-producing with he and Paul (Stanley) and it’s the three of us “making decisions.” Who has the last say? Depends on what the issue is. If it’s something sonically, it’s usually me. If it’s something musical, it’s usually them. It just depends on how the conversation was going and who was the bolder lion that day (laughs).”

Wright was tapped to produce Carnival of Souls, in part, due to his previous work with Alice in Chains. In this 2 part special, Wright details how he pushed the members of the band to attempt harmony vocal takes that mirrored the Seattle quartet’s and how it, ultimately, would fall short in comparison, “It’s just an effect that I use, harmony vocals. I hear all the harmonies in my head like Layne (Staley) did. I do that on a lot of records I produce..Layne and JJerry (Cantrell), they had something special with it because they used notes that people don’t use, typically speaking. Layne and Jerry, theey just did it. That was a part of their art just like Van Gogh picking up a fucking paintbrush. That was their sound. With Gene and Paul, that’s stuff that’s songwriter-forced.  There’s more movement in what Layne and Jerry would’ve done instead of these guys (Simmons & Stanley).

While loved by a core group of KISS fans, the album overall was not embraced by the KISS Army stylistically. Wright remembers, “To be brought into a situation where I’m trying to make someone sound unlike themselves is difficult. I would have rather had this KISS album be entirely them and just do what you do; because that’s what you do. I think a larger number of their fans would have embraced it instead of fighting about “that sucks” or “that’s good.”
While in production, the band were very excited about the prospects of this change in sound and, according Wright, putting a lot of eggs into the Grunge basket, “I was already slated to produce the next one ..It was in my contractt. If this one had shipped platinum, I was to produce the next KISS album.”

As many now know, everything came to a halt one day in the studio when Simmons and Stanley called a meeting with Wright and the rest of the band to make an announcement that would have a major impact on the album as well as two of the band members, “We were about done with the record. Gene got the call. Somebody offered him 100 million to put back on the makeup with all the original members. And that announcement in that room; holy shit.We all knew right as the words came out off his mouth that we were done.“\Paul didn’t really look aroundd much. Gene, he was Paul Revere. He was the messenger that should’ve gotten shot (laughs).”

Carnival of Souls would soon thereafter leak on the internet and become a widely distributed bootleg album, with KISS fans snatching it up online as well as at KISS conventions. Rumors swirled that a member of the band may have been responsible for leaking the album. In this 2 part discussion Wright reflects, “I do remember getting questioned, big time. Who knows who did it? I have great ideas on who did it. If it was a band member, I’d just say it was for his personal gain and I’m sure he made a lot of fucking money.”

The album would finally get a proper release in October of 1997 when it was issued by Mercury Records with very little fanfare. Wright remembers the experience being very bittersweet, “I was thinking that I’m working on another multiplatinum album, and it should’ve been, and then all of a sudden they shelve it. 2 years later, now they’re releasing it and didn’t put any marketing push behind it and it’s like “Why did you bother?””

MIKE PORCARO RIP - A MelodicRock Tribute

Mike Porcaro has left us. May he rest in peace.

As the music world collectively sighs a deep sigh for the loss of another legend, there is only one thing to do.

I’m currently cranking Kingdom Of Desire – one of my favourite Toto albums ever, but fittingly the last album to feature the rhythm section of Mike and Jeff Porcaro. They are united finally once again.
Every person hopes to leave this world with some kind of footprint that says we were here. The print Mike left was nothing short of astounding.

It is with great amazement I reflect that every single person reading this will own an album with Mike Porcaro on it. Most likely several. Dozens even for some! Just check his credits! (http://www.mikeporcaro.com/sessionworks.html)

I met Mike just the once – Sydney 2006 as Toto embarked on their long anticipated Australian tour. Mike was such a humble, laid back, likeable guy. All the Toto guys are first class, humble people, but Mike was far more reserved.  He just let his instrument do the talking. And talk it did…

Mike was forced to retire from playing the following year. ALS forged its way through his body, but never his spirit.

It took everything from him and took him from his band and his family. But not before Mike Porcaro left us with a musical legacy that will live on for decades to come.

To Mike’s family and friends, to Steve Lukather, David Paich, Steve Porcaro, David Hungate and the whole Toto family, I send my condolences and my love. I know this was expected, but it doesn’t make it any easier.

So long Mike.

AEROSMITH TO PERFORM AT PRO FOOTBALL HALL
OF FAME'S INAUGURAL CONCERT FOR LEGENDS

LEGENDARY BAND TO TAKE STAGE IN CANTON
ON EVE OF ENSHRINEMENT

CANTON, OHIO – The 2015 Pro Football Hall of Fame Enshrinement Festival will feature more legends than ever before. AEROSMITH, Rock's greatest live act, will perform at Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium in the Pro Football Hall of Fame's first-ever Concert for Legends on Friday, August 7 at 8 p.m. ET. The concert will pay tribute to the legends of the Game on the eve of the Enshrinement for the Class of 2015.

"The Hall is thrilled to have legends of the music world honor the legends of the Game," shared Hall of Fame President David Baker. "AEROSMITH performing in the inaugural Concert for Legends will add even more excitement and energy to an Enshrinement Weekend that kicks off the NFL's 96th season since its birth in Canton, and the launch to Super Bowl 50."

AEROSMITH – Steven Tyler, Joe Perry, Joey Kramer, Tom Hamilton, and Brad Whitford – are a living piece of American music history, having sold over 150 million albums worldwide and been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. They are the recipients of countless awards including four GRAMMYs, eight American Music Awards, six Billboard Awards and 12 MTV Video Music Awards, among many other honors. Their latest honors include the 2013 ASCAP Founders Award and induction, also in 2013, into the Songwriter Hall of Fame at the 44th Annual > SHOF ceremony. MUSIC FROM ANOTHER DIMENSION! (Columbia), the band's latest album, was released in late 2012. Proving that they can cross genre-boundaries with ease, these rock legends have even taken home a Soul Train Award for Best Rap Single for their remix of Run DMC's "Walk This Way." With scores of multi-platinum albums, AEROSMITH continues to inspire generations to get their wings, get a grip and just push play. It is no wonder why they are one of the most beloved bands of all time.

AEROSMITH was formed in Boston and the band members are avid New England Patriots fans.

Says Joe Perry: "Having grown up since the age of 2, born in Lawrence, Ma., 45 minutes from Foxborough Stadium and seen the franchise grow has been an amazing experience. As Aerosmith began traveling the world and became our own Hall of Famers, seeing the Patriots under the brilliant guidance of the Kraft family, we would hear the news of our hometown team winning again as we were doing a show in a far flung corner of the world and we would swell with pride and think, 'Ya those are our boys.' The fact that American Football is worldwide news, shows the intensity of the game and the impact of how you play it. On behalf of Aerosmith we would like to congratulate all of you Hall of Famers, owners, the commissioner of NFL, and of course our hometown team the Patriots. To perform this show for the Pro Football Hall of Fame and the Hall of Famers is truly a great honor. You only get here by playing the game with all of your heart and soul. So we look forward to honoring all of you with a show that comes from the same place."

Tom Hamilton adds: "When we started out, jocks did not hang out with long haired musicians longer than it took to beat them up.  Finally we have a meeting of the minds based on mutual respect. It'll be a great honor to be there that night."

AEROSMITH has many Gold Jackets (living Hall of Famers) who are big fans of the band. Class of 2008 Gold Jacket and former Patriots linebacker Andre Tippett will be on hand for the Concert for Legends alongside an expected 100 or more Hall of Famers and countless other NFL legends.

"Spending my whole career in New England, I was very fortunate to have opportunity to get to know Steven, Joe, Brad, Tom and Joey," noted Tippett. "I can tell you that the New England Patriots locker room, in my day, was playing Aerosmith songs like 'Toys in the Attic,' 'Sweet Emotion,' 'Livin on the Edge' and 'Walk This Way.' And today, I can honestly tell you that those same songs fill the locker room of the Super Bowl champions."

Concert for Legends tickets go on sale Saturday, March 21 at 10:00 a.m. EDT and may purchased on ticketmaster.com, by calling 800-745-3000, or at ticketmaster® retail outlets. Tickets prices: $35, $69, $99, $150 and $225.

The 2015 NFL/Hall of Fame Game between the Minnesota Vikings and Pittsburgh Steelers is already sold out. AOR Heaven Release SERPENTINE & MISS BEHAVIOUR April 24

Artist:
Friday, April 24, 2015
Categories:
News Feed

AOR Heaven have announced their April 24 releases: the new Serpentine album “Circle Of Knives” and the re-issue of Miss Behaviour’s 2011 album “Last Woman Standing”.

SERPENTINE:

The bands origins can be traced to Cardiff, Wales, where in 2007 keyboard player Gareth David Noon, original bassist Gareth Vanstone and guitarist Chris Gould were put into contact with Birmingham based singer Tony Mills, whose reputation with other melodic rock acts such as Shy and TNT made him an obvious choice for the band.
With a vast catalogue of demos, the four set about creating a collection of songs for what would become their 2010 debut album "A Touch Of Heaven". The album was produced by Sheena Sear and Mark Stuart, British Producers whose work with Magnum as well as rock icons such as Robert Plant and Phil Lynott is well known. Serpentine subsequently inked deals with German based label AOR Heaven and the Japanese label Marquee/Avalon and the album was released in March of 2010 to much critical acclaim, especially in Japan where the band hit the TOP 30 on the National ROCK chart as well as scoring a 92% review in the rock magazine Burrn!
In the summer of 2010 work began on the follow-up album, unfortunately in the December of that year, with the band geared up to return to the studio, Mills announced his departure following a heart-attack at a Norway airport but committed to finish the ‘Living & Dying in High Definition’ album with the band. Not resting upon their laurels and with live work in the offing Serpentine quickly moved to recruit Matt Black, a singer working in the rock covers band ‘Six Of The Best’ and who they felt had the stage presence and vocal range to pull off the Mills material live.
Serpentine hit the road with Black in March 2011 first appearing at a showcase in London with Houston, and later as part of a tour with Crashdiet. ‘Living & Dying in High Definition’ was released in September 2011 with sections of the press gushing that the band could well have “delivered the album of their lives”. Festivals dates at Firefest, Hard Rock Hell, Rockfest Madrid, HRH AOR and HEAT Festival in Germany followed as well as tours with Ten, Romeo’s Daughter and FM while Noon and Gould worked up musical ideas for their third album.
After having toured with Gary Hughes of Ten during the summer of 2012, the band met with him several months later in the north-west of England with their management to assess the demos they had amassed over the previous year and to iron out details of a collaboration/producer role for their next record. A year later, and with the material all but finalized, Matt Black left the band citing his will to move in a different direction musically. A few weeks later and after a period of ill health, Gareth Vanstone also bowed out. SERPENTINE quickly moved to recruit Adam Payne - a singer whose talent had come to their attention after hearing his voice on a track with his former band ‘Tidal’ - and prodigiously talented bassist Owen Crawford from ‘Triaxis’. The new look Serpentine entered Gary Hughes’ Doghouse Studio in Blackpool to record their new opus - ‘Circle of Knives’. The band had also lined up Neil Kernon to mix the record, but after a short time working together the sound emerging from the mixes were not what the band had envisaged, and so Sheena Sear who had produced and mixed the bands previous two records stepped in to finalise the mix.

Payne and Crawford made their live debuts with SERPENTINE at Planet Rockstock and a warm up date at EVI in Ebbw Vale in late 2014 and the band are now approaching a release date for their new album ‘Circle of Knives’ on AOR Heaven with live dates in 2015 kicking off with an appearance at this year’s HardRockHell AOR3 Festival in March.
Track list: 1. Season of the Witch 2. La Tragedienne 3. Forever 4. The Hardest Fall 5. Bleed 6. Where Does Your Heart Beat Now? 7. Bound By The Strings of Discord 8. Circle Of Knives 9. Such A Long Way Down 10. Suicide Days
Band: ADAM PAYNE - VOCALS, GARETH DAVID NOON - KEYBOARDS/VOCALS, CHRISTOPHER GOULD - GUITARS, OWEN CRAWFORD - BASS/VOCALS, ROY MILLWARD - DRUMS/PERCUSSION

Miss Behaviour - The Biography
The story of Miss Behaviour goes back to 2004. Keyboard player Henrik Sproge and guitarist Erik Heikne were both studying Music Management at the Baltic Business School in Kalmar, Sweden, when the idea of Miss Behaviour first came up. With a great passion for 80's melodic hard rock and AOR, they decided to start the band to express their vision of how a modern rock band, inspired by the great bands of the eighties should sound.
The first Miss Behaviour songs where written in a student apartment in Kalmar in late 2004 and ended up at the 3-song EP Give us the world. Miss Behavior worked and still do with producer/technician Daniel Gese who had a career as drummer/producer with his 80’s metal/sleaze band Pole Position  in the late 80s/early 90s.

After the debut album Heart of Midwinter was released in 2006, Henrik and Erik decided to recruit the new lead singer Sebastian Roos, a quite well known singer in Sweden, with a lot of touring, TV and radio performances and Eurovision song contest on his CV. The breakthrough came with the Album Last Woman Standing, released in 2011. In spring 2011 Miss Behaviour competed in Swedish national radio with the song Till we meet again, making the première live performance with the current lineup in front of 400000 radio listeners. Joining forces with former Backyard Babies manager Michael Sundén in 2011 the band hit the roads in the UK.

Late 2011, after touring the UK with CrashDiet, the album Last Woman Standing won the Melodic.net ”Best AoR album of 2011” readers poll with 23% of the votes, leaving bands like Journey, Robin Beck, Work of Art and more behind. The reviews were fantastic and the album got top scores in important magazines, such as Classic Rock (UK), Sweden Rock Magazine (Sweden) and more.
UK Magazine Classic Rock picked Cynthia as one of the best tracks in 2011, and featured the song on the compilation Classic Rock Buzz. Miss Behaviour returned to the UK on the Smokehead Rocks Tour, playing another 10 dates and finished the tour with a sold out show at O2 Islington Academy in London, Oktober 12, 2011. In the middle of the song writing and recordings of the new album Michael Sundén tragically passed, in a horrible accident at venue Rock City, Nottingham. This loss took a while to recover from but finally the brand new album Double Agent  was finished and received great feedback in the press last year.

Last Woman Standing - Re-Issue
Last Woman Standing (2011) was the band’s breakthrough album. "Cynthia" was selected one of the best songs of 2011 by Classic Rock (Melodic BUZZ CD). The single "Till we meet again" premiered live in Swedish national radio with 200k+ listeners. The video had over 60000 views.
The Bonus material (* tracks 12 & 13): These songs were written in 2011 and recorded in a new session whit the new members Niclas Lindblom (Bass) and Magnus Jacobson (drums). The same line-up that consists today and played two UK-tours back in 2011 and 2012.
Tracklist: 1. 1988, 2. Cynthia, 3. Give Her A Sign, 4. Perfect War, 5. Average Hero, 6. Till We Meet Again, 7. Taking Hostage, 8. Emergency, 9. Living The Dream, 10. Last Woman Standing, 11. 11th Hour, 12.  Run 2 You*, 13. True Man Show*

Crazy Lixx nearly threw away all the good work they’d done with their first two albums with the release of #3, Riot Avenue. The rawer, more restrained direction was a big step backwards after the glorious New Religion and the impressive debut Loud Minority.
Opting for a self-titled moniker, album number 4 thankfully sees the band recapture everything that fans loved about the first two records.

This is the logical follow-up to New Religion, we can just forget about Riot Avenue now!
Changing the lineup slightly sees new bassist Jens Sjöholm join and the return of original drummer Joél Cirera.
The energy, the pomp, the big guitars, the screaming vocals and the anthemic songs are all back.

Kicking off with the pounding of Hell Raising Women; through the blazing Sound Of The Loud Minority and the passionate pleas of Outlaw; to the commercial hit Girls Of The 80s; Crazy Lixx are back!
The feel good pomp rocker I Missed The Mark has a huge chorus while Call To Action is about as catchy as the band has been able to deliver to date.
Heroes Are Forgiven isn’t far behind and the album finishes on a high with one of the groups fastest rockers yet in Wrecking Ball Crew.

Welcome back to the real Crazy Lixx. No hesitation in recommending this to any fan of the first two records and those that love that big, loud, old-school approach with contemporary production to make it slick and modern.

TANGO DOWN Welcomes Vocalist CHAS WEST

Artist:
Thursday, December 31, 2015

TANGO DOWN have announced their new vocalist after the departure of David Reece. News just in from Kivel Records:

"We said we were going to lay low for a few months and enjoy the holidays. We all greatly appreciate the response that ‘Charming Devil’ continues to receive. We took time to sit back and soak everything in over the last year. All the good, and not so good, and in the end what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger (we think somebody famous said that).

Well, we’ve been quiet long enough. It’s time to kick the tires and get things back into gear. So, let’s start off with the obvious question that is on everyone’s mind. WHO is our new singer? Of course finding the right guy was going to prove to be a daunting task to say the least. However, we were up to the challenge, and we couldn’t be more pleased with our selection. So folks, we give you Chas West! Please welcome him to the TANGO DOWN fold!

As a front man, Chas first came to prominence as lead vocalist for BONHAM, featuring Jason Bonham on drums (son of the late, great John Bonham of LED ZEPPELIN), recording two major-label albums (Sony/MJJ) and touring the world extensively.

Chas has also held the lead vocal slot and toured with George Lynch’s LYNCH MOB. In between LYNCH MOB stints, Chas fronted the HOLLYWOOD ALLSTARZ (which included members of BLACK SABBATH, QUIET RIOT, DIO, RATT, & DOKKEN). Chas has also been given the ultimate nod of approval from one of the premier legends of Rock and Roll, Mr. Robert Plant (LED ZEPPELIN). After hearing Chas for the first time, Plant had this to say, "He sounds like me when I was his age". No better compliment or stronger validation could be asked for.

Chas West is a vocal wailer who has the power and grit of Chris Cornell, and the range and rock star attitude of Robert Plant. We could not be happier or more excited to welcome such an amazing talent into the band. Together we will not disappoint. Songs are currently being written, six of which have been approved and checked off that pesky To-Do List. One of these new songs may just be the best TANGO DOWN song ever!

TANGO DOWN, 2015 we are back and we are BIG, BAD & BULLETPROOF!

New album ‘Bulletproof’ coming Fall 2015 on Kivel Records
