“I cannot express how excited I am for you all to hear this new album. Our focus was to bring back the magic in the music with songs that have been lived, loved, laughed and struggled. I best describe this album as ‘DEEP, SEXY, LOVING, TWISTED, ROMANTIC, and HUNGRY ROCK’N ROLL.’ The record was recorded throughout parts of the world including a live string section recorded in Stockholm Sweden. I truly hope you enjoy this album as it was created from the heart and no corners were cut. Love you all; we look forward to seeing you on the road,” enthuses Miljenko.
Although they were lumped in with the glut of long-haired hard rock bands emerging in the early ‘90s, the band was always more forward thinking than their peers and the 2017 version of the band has a contemporary and edgy feel, while still retaining the patented powerful vocals of Miljenko. On “Through Worlds Of Stardust”, Miljenko has fused his past, present, and future together, creating an undeniable piece of hard rock music. Certainly fans of the band’s first three classic albums will be happy to hear those powerful pipes back in action, but fans of modern hard rock acts like Halestorm, Shinedown, Alter Bridge, and other melodic minded rock heavyweights will find much here to love.
Steelheart released their self-titled debut album in 1990 and based on the buzz around the hit single “I’ll Never Let You Go” was a smashing success (for example, 33,000 albums were sold in one day in Japan) and quickly reached platinum sales. Steelheart's sophomore album, "Tangled In Reins" was released in 1992 to critical acclaim and rave reviews, but moderate success in terms of sales in the U.S. (by early ‘90s standards) due to the well documented rise of grunge music; however, East Asia was a different story, where the band was widely embraced yet again. In the midst of promotion of the album, a serious accident happened on Halloween night in 1992, when an improperly secured lighting truss hit Matijevic on the back of the head, breaking his nose, cheekbone, jaw, and twisting his spine. Almost impossibly, Matijevic managed to walk off the stage of his own strength before being rushed to a hospital. "Steelheart" as it was known ended that night.
Four years later, Matijevic formed a new version of Steelheart with Kenny Kanowski (guitars), Vincent Mele (bass), and Alex Makarovich (drums) to record and release his third album, "Wait". The album was very different musically from the previous two albums, but featured the song “We All Die Young” (millions of streams and counting on Spotify) which was later included as a re-recorded version in the movie “Rock Star”, which saw Matijevic providing the singing voice for Mark Wahlberg's character. The movie soundtrack was performed by Matijevic (and Jeff Scott Soto) on vocals along with Zakk Wylde (Ozzy Osbourne's then guitarist and frontman of Black Label Society), Jeff Pilson (Dokken, Foreigner), and Jason Bonham.
Now the band once compared to Led Zeppelin by respected metal outlet Brave Words & Bloody Knuckles, is back with a sonic tour de force befitting of their stature. Don’t be foolish and dismiss this as just another “band from the ‘80s” as you will miss out on one of the most surprisingly robust and balanced hard rock albums of 2017! Highly recommended for fans of hard rock from then and NOW!

This is an interesting project put together by ex-Baron Rojo bassist, Gorka Alegre, in 2016.
This project enlists some of Spain's finest rock musicians along with a host of other well known guests.
Included in the line-up is Herman Rarebell who is ex-Scorpions drummer, Bill Leverty of Firehouse, on guitars and David Reece, ex-Accept and Bangalore Choir, providing duet vocals.
The handling of lead vocals and providing a contribution to songwriting is David Saylor, who was ex-Push UK.
The final result was undertaken over a 12 month period and was completed in 2017.
The finished hard rock album is superb, hard hitting and melodic. Once again, David Saylor's voice feels so much at home but moves in a different direction to his solo albums and other projects he was involved with in the past.
Zhenx is for fans who are into bands like Def Leppard and China, aswell as early Gotthard albums.
David Saylor passed away early 2017 and sadly, he never got to hear the final mix.
Powerhouse indie record label, Golden Robot Records, has added world-renowned Guns N’ Roses band member, Dizzy Reed, to its fast growing roster, with his long-awaited solo album slated for release in Australia later this year. The record features players from some of the world’s greatest rock bands including Thin Lizzy, W.A.S.P., Psychedelic Furs, fellow Gunner’s members and many more.
“Concentrating on our global expansion with the addition of internationals to the label, we’re very excited to have an artist of Dizzy Reed’s caliber join us,” says Mark Alexander-Erber, President and Co-Founder of Golden Robot Global Entertainment. “He’s not only been a prominent force in Guns N’ Roses for over 25 years, he’s also a well-respected solo artist in his own right.”
Golden Robot Records roster also includes a number of well-known and up and coming Aussie artists, including Rose Tattoo, Kilbey Kennedy, Ben Gillies, The Art, High Tropics, The Superjesus, The Cherry Dolls, The Lockhearts, The Heartache State, Mi-Sex, Moon, Toe to Toe, The Kids, The Buckleys, and She Shinjuku.
About Dizzy Reed:
Born in Hinsdale, Illinois and raised in Colorado, Dizzy started his musical journey in early childhood. His grandmother, who lived in the apartment above, played the organ, and taught Dizzy on her Lowry.
Growing up, Dizzy was exposed to his father’s love of Booker T and the MGs. Once young Dizzy realised that was the same instrument he could play, he was hooked. By the age of 12 he was touring with his band. Other early influences were John Lord, Gregg Rolie, and Grand Funk Railroad. In 1985, Dizzy moved to Los Angeles, where a wild, rich musical scene was hitting its stride.
“It was the place to be. There were thousands of bands from all over the world, trying to be the next big thing. There was an incredible amount of energy and it was magic.”
While rehearsing in a Hollywood practice room, Dizzy befriended Axl Rose, and in 1990 he joined Guns N’ Roses on keys, percussion and backing vocals.
In 2012, Dizzy was inducted into the Rock n’ Roll Hall of Fame as a member of Guns N’ Roses. He has toured with the Psychedelic Furs and has recorded and written with supergroup The Dead Daisies. He also sings lead vocals with his side project, Hookers and Blow.
Dizzy is a father of four and lives with his New Zealand-born wife, Nadja, in Los Angeles. On surviving and flourishing in rocks ‘sharky’ waters, he says, “Never stop learning and exploring, but don’t forget what you do best. Stick to your guns.”
Jeff Scott Soto posted the following on his FB page today and I'm sure he won't mind me posting here now, as it represents a view from someone that knew David best.
Here we go again, me having to get the huge weight of emotions off my chest by blogging it…one never knows how to say goodbye to another when its their time, there is no way of knowing the feeling behind a loss because every relationship is different, like a thumbprint. Some are simple, some are complex but nonetheless the sting is the same.
I met David Z back in 2007 but I don’t remember it…he was in a band with his brother Paul called ZO2. I was doing a solo run in the US to test the waters and see if there was any interest in furthering this venture. We did a show in Rhode Island and ZO2 was our support band…I remember seeing and hearing they had ‘something’ which I got to experience more later when they soon after had their own TV show then meeting David at rehearsals for a Trans-Siberian Orchestra tour in 2009. We bonded instantly as I had just met and hung a lot with Paulie…their level of humor, juvenile behavior and sarcasm were right up my alley, probably comes from the fact we’re all Brooklyn natives!
I knew Dave was a killer bass player especially one who loved challenges so I decided to put him to the test…1st I played him a musical interlude from a Talisman Official song, Tears In the Sky, from my then recently departed brother Marcel Jacob as I knew he would appreciate the level of skill it took to play it. He LOVED it and said he was gonna learn it and play it for me. I thought ‘yea right, Marcel uses a pick to get the speed and fluidity the song required, Dave’s plays with fingers’. I sent him off with a solid ‘good luck’…next day he pulls me aside at rehearsals and plays it for me, verbatim, with FINGERS!
I knew then and there I needed to include this guy into my musical adventures someday soon…that someday came in 2012 when I had a tour booked in Europe early 2013 and my then bassist had other commitments. I asked David along into the fold and he was gung ho about it, he was just excited to play, he wasn’t jaded by money and fame, ZO2 were on the outs and he was happy to add something like this to his regiment of TSO and the 80’s tribute he so loved, RUBIX KUBE: The Eighties Strike Back Show.
David fit like a glove from day one…anyone who’s ever met him LOVES him. He was the missing link in my life both musically and personally that I only experienced with my own brother. Not taking away from the incredible people I’ve played with but as most know my career and life has been spent with musicians from abroad. This makes for missing a lot of things within my own upbringing and Pop culture, I finally had this with David because we grew up with the same things from Cap’N Crunch cereal to Captain Caveman!
When we morphed the JSS Band into SOTO Official, I was beyond thrilled David wanted to be along for the ride, now he could be creative with US, as a band, as he was missing since the ZO2 split.
David was a happy, positive person who always wanted to make people laugh even at his own expense. As a bassist, he was far superior to many I have ever played with, as well as many hailed as ‘great’ in this business. He could sing, he could dance, he could write, he could direct videos…as he did many with us on tour as parodies. EVERY SINGLE PERSON ON THIS PLANET he came in contact with loved him and not a single person could find a bad thing to say about him. He was the ultimate Man Child, the ultimate musician and the ultimate friend.
He was the guy who loved to talk to people and fans, he loved meet and greets, he loved interaction. He made every person feel important at all times…he always had the biggest smile on his face, he never complained even during the worst or inconvenient circumstances, he always saw the brighter side of life, he was always ready to sacrifice his dignity for a laugh, he gave 1000% under every condition, he never said ’no’, he cared about his craft in every sense of the word…truly one of the most irreplaceable human beings I know, best of luck to ANYONE lucky enough to take his place in SOTO!
When he got the call for Adrenaline Mob, he called hoping I wouldnt have an issue with it...on the contrary I couldn't be more excited for him! I love this band and I knew David could be what he was for us, that element that brought them to another level!
As I have to eventually come to grips I have lost yet another close to me, and believe me the list is VERY small, incredible person in my life, I realize the lifetime of memories I have with him including just hanging or performing with him are beyond those in my life for much longer. I could write an entire novel on the incredible times we shared, the heaps of laughs, the insane shows we got to do together, etc., One week to the day of the anniversary for Marcel’s passing, I have 2 of the most incredible musicians in my career stripped from my life and career.
Tonight and for some time I will cry for you…then I will celebrate you! I love you David Z, you were my friend, my bassist and my brother! RIP
Produced by Chris "The Wizard" Collier (Lynch Mob; Flotsam And Jetsam; Prong; KXM), “The Brotherhood” features eleven brand new hard rock tracks from Lynch Mob. This album will surely resonate with long time fans of the band, as well as those longing for that good ol' hard rock sound and feel. "The Brotherhood” highlights the unique pairing of Oni Logan and George Lynch, and along with Sean McNabb (bass) and Jimmy D’Anda (drums), the band has created a solid offering from start to finish. From the heavy guitar riffs of the opening track “Main Offender” to the melodic album finale ”Miles Away”, Lynch Mob have once again proven they remain on top of their game and at the top of their genre!
On the subject of Lynch Mob’s new record, Oni Logan comments, “After doing quite a few miles together with this latest line-up of Sean McNabb and Jimmy D’Anda, we consider ourselves a pack of wolves, and we came up with the name ‘The Brotherhood’ for the title of the next Lynch Mob album. It’s got more of an adventurous sound in part and maybe a darker, colder sound to it. We are always willing to go farther. We come from the early 90’s and it's when we released the first Lynch Mob album which set a sound and course for us. Here we are 27 years later, George and I are still able to keep on stretching. As a player, as a writer, that is very important to us. Otherwise we would be fooling ourselves and fooling you”.
George Lynch adds, "We wrote this album as a band and the name of the record reflects what the band is about, and what all my bands have been about since I've been a kid. This is my second family. These are my brothers. You go through a lot together and have a lot of experiences together. And that then becomes a part of the music."
Official release date for “The Brotherhood” is Friday September 08, 2017.
