Ginger Baker,  Pete York & Herman Rarebell On stage together for the first time - for one night only!

BRIGHTON DOME, CHURCH ST, BRIGHTON BN1 1UE. 01273 709709 APRIL 12, 2019, 8pm

Ladies and Gentlemen, girls and boys, for one night only, I give you....cue massive drum roll....THE DRUMMERS.

The power(houses) behind the throne, these are the men who keep the beat, move the pace, weld together the instruments and provide the musical foundation and the centrifugal force on any stage they grace.

There have been various renowned drummers over the years but few more evocative, charismatic and diverse in style than these three absolute legends – Ginger Baker, Pete York and Herman Rarebell.

Tub thumpers extraordinaire, each doing different (and seemingly impossible) things with every limb, these are the men who have forged rhythms with the best of them. Together they provide an unsurpassed rock heritage spanning Cream, The Spencer Davis Group and The Scorpions.

On April 12 the three rock giants will take centre stage at the Brighton Dome bringing their unique, genre-crossing, playing styles to show just what it takes to be top of the game.

They will delve into their stellar careers to showcase their massive hits including White Room, Gimme Some Lovin’, Rock You Like A Hurricane, Passion Rules The Game and Sunshine Of Your Love.

Backed by a coterie of top musicians including the unstoppable Bernie Marsden (Whitesnake etc) , Abbas Dodoo and Alec Dankworth, all three main men will play together at the end of the night to demonstrate just how much fun can be had on a drum kit.

April 12 is a rare opportunity for drum lovers and music fans to watch, listen and learn from their drum heroes. In fact, for once, the phrase ‘not to be missed’ is completely valid. This is going to be one unique and special night!

Tickets are on sale now priced £35, £45 and £55 from the Brighton Dome https://brightondome.org/  and all usual ticket outlets. The production is in association with Ina Dittke Associates.

Ginger Baker - The infamous hell-raiser and much lauded drummer who came to international fame with Cream, Blind Faith and Fela Kuti has spent the last few years playing jazz,  the music he first came to love. For Drum Legends he'll put the Cream repertoire centre stage.

Pete York – Pete is best known for his work in The Spencer Davis Group who released several top hits of the 1960s including Keep On Running which reached No 1 in 1965. This was followed by Somebody Help Me, When I Come Home, Gimme Some Lovin’ and I’m A Man. Pete went on to perform with Eric Clapton’s Powerhouse, Blues Circus and many other groups and projects over the decades. He also hosted and produced the TV series Superdrumming and Villa Fantastica about drummers and music.

Herman ‘ze German’ Rarebell – Herman joined Heavy Metal giants The Scorpions in 1977 and went on to write many of their most popular hits, including Another Piece of Meat, Rock You Like a Hurricane, Blackout and Arizona. He's active with band mates like Michael Schenker and also with his own band. He is one of the most important names in the rise of Hard Rock.

This is an interesting project put together by ex-Baron Rojo bassist, Gorka Alegre, in 2016.

This project enlists some of Spain's finest rock musicians along with a host of other well known guests.

Included in the line-up is Herman Rarebell who is ex-Scorpions drummer, Bill Leverty of Firehouse, on guitars and David Reece, ex-Accept and Bangalore Choir, providing duet vocals.

The handling of lead vocals and providing a contribution to songwriting is David Saylor, who was ex-Push UK.
The final result was undertaken over a 12 month period and was completed in 2017.

The finished hard rock album is superb, hard hitting and melodic.  Once again, David Saylor's voice feels so much at home but moves in a different direction to his solo albums and other projects he was involved with in the past.

Zhenx is for fans who are into bands like Def Leppard and China, aswell as early Gotthard albums.

David Saylor passed away early 2017 and sadly, he never got to hear the final mix.

ROCK WOLVES Set To Howl on Debut For SPV

- New rock trio featuring members of Scorpions, Mad Max & H-Blockx -
- First single will be released September 09th, 2016 -
- Debut album scheduled for release October 28th, 2016 -

No doubt about it, Rock Wolves leave no questions unanswered and certainly nothing to be desired. The band name alone is an unmistakable indication of the journey that this new all-star trio has embarked on: classic rock music, melodic, powerful, contemporary, diverse, with just the right degree of toughness and a sure feel for gritty hooks. This band knows how these things are done, because thanks to Herman Rarebell, Michael Voss and Stephan Gudze Hinz, Rock Wolves consists of three of the most renowned rock musicians of the past forty years. Musically as well as lyrically, their mission is straightforward, featuring great emotions but also clear words on current events. Their debut album will be available on Steamhammer/SPV as digi, LP and for download from 28 October 2016, the first single is scheduled for release on 9 September: ´Rock For The Nations` will mark the launch of an outstanding recording which aims at putting the focus back on timeless rock music. You don't have to be a clairvoyant to predict that this concept is more than likely to work!

This diversity of ideas and the band's almost boundless musical enthusiasm is reflected in every one of the eleven songs on their debut release. Straight rock numbers like the first single ´Rock For The Nations`, the shuffle groove-driven ´Surrounded By Fools`, the fast-paced ´Out Of Time`, and ´The Lion Is Loose` with its haunting live qualities, but also ´I Need Your Love`, which brings to mind the likes of AC/DC and Bad Company, are thoroughbred rock tracks that go directly to the listener's gut and legs, as well as – like all ambitioned rock music should – touching on painful subjects. Instead off delivering tanks and arms all over the world, Germany should concentrate on exporting good rock music," Rarebell explains the message of ´Rock For The Nations`. The lyrics on ´Surrounded By Fools` with their warning of unscrupulous politicians are no less critical. Rarebell: "Let's not be dazzled by their colourful election campaigns. Those politicians can easily end up bringing war to their countries."

Naturally, no diverse rock album would be complete without two or three more quiet numbers with less controversial subjects. In ´Nothing´s Gonna Bring Me Down`, Rock Wolves have succeeded in recording a strikingly contemporary ballad which could have been penned in the same or a similar manner by Lenny Kravitz. Talking of which: the original version of the deeply melodic ´What About Love` was written by Jim Vallance, but celebrated its greatest success in 1985 with Heart, who topped the Billboard charts for an impressive 18 weeks with the song. Our new version has been given the blessing by Jim Vallance himself. His only comment was: ´Your version is even better than my original, so go for it`,€ remembers Rarebell.
"Rock Wolves" will be released worldwide (ex Japan) as digi, LP and download on October 28th,2016 through Steamhammer/SPV.
