King’s X guitarist Ty Tabor will release his all new solo effort “Alien Beans” January 12, 2018 via Rat Pak Records. “Alien Beans” is a double disc album that features 10 all new studio tracks and a “best of” compilation disc featuring 11 newly re-mixed and re-mastered tracks from Ty’s previous releases.

Regarding the new album, Ty comments, “I wanted to do a rock album and put some new, heavier stuff together. Along the way we also decided to remix some of the older stuff and make it a double album. Everything just fits together like it should. The whole concept behind the new album was to simply re-release a lot of my old catalog that was only available online and that most people didn't really know about. Basically, my back catalog has kind of been hidden among the fans for a long time, but I didn’t just want to re-release the same stuff. A lot of times when you release an album you wish you could go back later and fix a little thing, or mix this differently, or whatever. Well, I took a look at all the old songs in that light and I did do some tweaking. I remixed some of it and I remastered all of it. But we didn’t stop there. We ended up spending a year writing a whole new album too and decided to put them both out together. So, it’s not just the old compilation of stuff that people know about, but it's brand new songs too. Double album, old and new."

On the subject of song writing Ty states, "When it comes to what I write for solo material, I don’t really think about bands or anything like that. I just write music that makes me happy and I’ve ended up with an album I really love!"
With thought provoking lyrics, solid guitar riffs, and Ty’s signature sound, “Alien Beans” will surely resonate with all fans of rock music! Official release date for "Alien Beans" is January 12, 2018 and the album will be available in a variety of formats including vinyl, CD, cassette and autographed CD bundles which can be pre-ordered here: www.ratpakrecords.com/ty-tabor

TOTO “40 TRIPS AROUND THE SUN” TO BE RELEASED ON FEBRUARY 9

Remastered Greatest Hits Collection Featuring Three Brand New Tracks To Be Released On Legacy Recordings

40 Trips Around The Sun World Tour Begins In Europe On February 11, 2018

Los Angeles, CA --- TOTO is pleased to announce a February 9th worldwide release date on Legacy Recordings (a division of Sony Music) for their brand new Greatest Hits package titled 40 Trips Around The Sun. The 17 track album features three previously unreleased recordings: “Spanish Sea” “Alone” and “Struck By Lightning” alongside newly remastered classic tracks worked on by Elliot Scheiner & Gavin Lurssen and his team. The core Toto members, Steve Lukather, David Paich, Steve Porcaro, Joseph Williams re-entered the studio earlier this year to work on this release.

While going through the Sony vaults, the band uncovered several unfinished tracks that featured both Jeff and Mike Porcaro, one of which is now “Spanish Sea.” “This track is originally from the Isolation sessions,” Steve Lukather commented. “It’s one that didn't make it and we had to re-write it including creating a new chorus. Thanks to modern tech we were able to play once again with not only our 20 something selves but with our dear brothers Jeff and Mike Porcaro reminding us just how deep their groove was. Bittersweet... Many stories, laughs and a few tears on this one. It’s classic Toto with an excellent solo and I kept my old 1985 melody solo Dave wanted me to do... Old meets new but since legendary pal Al Schmitt cut the tracks and Bob Clearmountain mixed...it sounds like it was done 2 weeks ago not 30 + years ago!”

All fans who pre-order the album beginning today will receive “Alone” as an instant grat track. “Alone is a brand new song,” Lukather remarked. “This one was written with just the four of us really writing together and no one else in the room with us. We wanted to start with an ‘up’ song in terms of groove for the album. The lyric is darker but we are older guys now ands have lived life. The good, bad and ugly... we have lived it all and in the end we are all alone anyway. Proud of this piece and it just sort of organically happened.” Fans can pre-order the album here: https://lnk.to/toto_GH

The third new track on 40 Trips Around The Sun: “Struck By Lightning” began with David Paich. “I had the opening riff in my head for months,” Paich said. “Joe and the guys helped flesh this one out. I love the heavy arrangement and Luke’s solo on it is an all time great!”

Beginning on February 11th in Helsinki, the band will begin the first leg of their worldwide 40 Trips Around The Sun tour in support of their 40th anniversary. 36 shows in Europe have been announced to date. The tour will be the band’s most extensive run in years and is expected to hit the U.S. later in 2018. More shows will be announced shortly.

THE POODLES Announce 'Prisma' Covers Album

The Poodles "PRISMANew album out January 2018!

The Poodles are back with "PRISMA" the follow-up to the critically acclaimed album “Devil in the Details”!

The Poodles have released seven full-length studio albums and one live album over the past ten years and had discussed the possibility of doing an album featuring songs from other artists for several years. They finally decided that it was time!

The title, “PRISMA” is meant to reflect the difference in perspective that the band brings to the songs on the album. The decision was made early to stay away from genres close to the band’s own, but other than that, any song could come into question for making the cut.

In collaboration with up-and-coming producer, Dino Medanhodzic at Radionica Studios, the band came up with a slate of songs that span some 40 years of music, from the 1970s up to the 2010s! The deciding factor was the quality of the song where a strong hook and a driving riff were key ingredients.

Fans of Elton John, Fleetwood Mac, Depeche Mode, Blondie, and The Swedish House Mafia are in for a treat, as The Poodles put their unique stamp on classic tracks by these and other artists!

PRISMA is out in virtual and physical stores on January 26.

PAUL DEAN's 'Hardcore' Solo Album Arrives At Digital

Artist:

Paul Dean's debut solo album, Hard Core, originally released in 1989 on Columbia Records, is now available for the first time digitally on all major online streaming outlets, including Spotify, Apple Music, iTunes, and Google Play, among others.

Hard Core spotlights Dean's fiercely distinctive guitar work on a series of songs that rock hard and show off classic influences like Duane Eddy, Luther Perkins, Hank Marvin, Jeff Beck and Jimi Hendrix. The album's first single, "Sword & Stone," a mythic tale of King Arthur and Excalibur written by Paul Stanley, Bruce Kulick and Desmond Child, was originally slated for KISS' Crazy Nights album. The video for the track can still be seen on YouTube. Desmond originally pitched the song to Dean during the New Jersey sessions where Paul co-wrote "Notorious" with Jon Bon Jovi and Richie Sambora, (with additional contributions from Mike Reno and the late Todd Cerney), which appeared on Loverboy's Wildside album in 1987.

Another track on the album, "Under the Gun," features a Jon Bon Jovi harmonica solo, which took place while Dean was mixing his album at Vancouver's Little Mountain Sound Studios with Bob Rock, while Bon Jovi were making New Jersey in an adjacent room with producer Bruce Fairbairn.  "Draw the Line," written by Bryan Adams and Jim Vallance, was previously recorded by Ted Nugent for his 1984 Penetrator album, with vocals by Brian Howe, who was Paul Rodgers' replacement as lead singer in Bad Company. Coincidentally, when Dean went out on tour to promote Hard Core, his band opened for the same Bad Company, fronted by Howe. Other tracks include the rocking, self-penned "Doctor," the raucous fan favorite "Black Sheep", "Action" (co-written with Loverboy rhythm section, drummer Matt Frenette and bassist Kenneth "Spider" Sinnaeve and dedicated to Kenny Shields, who recently passed away) and the very timely "Politics," which was originally a stab at a well-known Canadian pop singer's hypocritical stance. With a grin, it is still someone Dean still refuses to identify by name.

After Hard Core, Dean went on to record two more "solo" albums, including Machine, released in 1995 by Strawberry Records in Canada, and Blackstone, featuring singer Marc LaFrance, in 1997.

"Hard Core" was produced by Dean's pal, Chilliwack/Headpins member, Brian "Too Loud" MacLeod, who died just over three years after its release. "What an amazing cat," Dean reminisces. "He was so high-energy, always up.  I never heard a negative word from him about anyone. He was a total recording nerd, a pioneer at splicing together different bits from the multi-track."

The digital release of Hard Core is just a prelude for Paul Dean's long-awaited new material, which he has been working on, promising an ongoing series of single releases described as "pop tunes, a couple of ballads and some 'balls to the wall' metal stuff."

LOVERBOY's almost four-decade-long career began in Calgary when Paul met vocalist Mike Reno, with the two eventually joined by keyboardist Doug Johnson, drummer Matt Frenette and bassist Ken "Spider" Sinnaeve, who replaced the late founding member Scott Smith in 2000. The band has four multi-platinum albums, including the four-million-selling Get Lucky, and a trio of double-platinum releases in their self-titled 1980 debut, 1983's Keep It Up and 1985's Lovin' Every Minute of It. Their string of hits includes, in addition to the arena-rock anthem "Working for the Weekend," such staples as "Lovin' Every Minute of It," "This Could Be the Night," "Hot Girls in Love," "Heaven In Your Eyes," "Turn Me Loose," "When It's Over" and "Queen of the Broken Hearts."

Frontiers Music Srl is thrilled to announce the signing of CoreLeoni, who will release a very special album in February 2018.

Who is CoreLeoni you ask? It is a project founded by none other than GOTTHARD guitarist and founder Leo Leoni to pay a very personal tribute to his ROCK & ROLL past!

In Leo's words, "On the 25th anniversary of the release of the first GOTTHARD album, I wanted to pay tribute to songs like: DOWNTOWN, FIREDANCE, HIGHER, HERE COMES THE HEAT, IN THE NAME, RIDE ON…., LET IT BE, and ALL I CARE 4. Songs that with Gotthard we have kind of left aside. We've re-recorded, refreshed, and "re-brushed" them in a respectful way. These songs are very dear to me and they are part of a period that will remain forever with me."

Joining CoreLeoni on this release:

Ronnie Romero (Lords Of Black, Rainbow): vocals
Hena Habegger : drums
Jgor Gianola : guitar
Mila Merker : bass

Leo Leoni dusted these songs off and brough a new life to these overlooked masterpieces from his past. The album will also include a new song, “Walk On Water", which will be released in December.

"This CoreLeoni project made me feel so many emotions and memories, filling my heart with joy. I hope hearing these new versions gives all the Gotthard fans, especially the ones who knew and loved the band in the early days, the same great emotions that it has brought to me," concludes Leo.

The band will also appear live in Switzerland for the following shows:

21.12. Temus, Agno
22.12. Musigburg, Aarburg
23.12. Harley Heaven, Dietikon
30.12. Piazza, Lugano – Radiofestival

Stay tuned for more news and more shows!
