AOR Heaven Announces October Titles: MIDNITE CITY & WHITE WIDDOW

Artist:
Friday, October 19, 2018
Categories:
News Feed

Following on from their explosive self-titled debut album last year, MIDNITE CITY return all guns blazing on 19th of October 2018 via AOR Heaven with their sophomore release 'THERE GOES THE NEIGHBOURHHOOD' - eleven tracks of fist pumping, high energy, feel-good, hair metal of the highest order!

The lush melodies, huge choruses and gargantuan hooks found on their debut album are all here in abundance alongside some true modern day glam anthems, fun commercial party rock, moody mid-paced hard rockers and heart wrenching power ballads big enough to light up an entire arena.
As with the first album, the winning formula has remained - all songs have been written by Rob Wylde, whilst Pete Newdeck has once again taken control of production, engineering and mixing duties.  With ‘THERE GOES THE NEIGHBOURHOOD’ the band has literally stepped everything up several notches to unbridled, head splitting proportions. The guitars are big, the drums are huge, there are walls and walls of harmonies and more synths than you’d find this side of a classic Bon Jovi album. In a nutshell, this album has everything but the kitchen sink!
With shows all over the UK and Europe in 2017/ 2018, MIDNITE CITY's sound is tighter than ever before.

So if you long for a band that still look, sound and perform like those long lost million selling forgotten bands of the late 80's/ early 90's, MIDNITE CITY and 'THERE GOES THE NEIGHBOURHOOD' is the album for you.

Don’t forget to catch MIDNITE CITY tearing it up live all over the UK, Europe and beyond in their own inimitable, arena rock style in 2018/ 2019.

Raised on a healthy diet of 80’s Arena Rock and influenced by artists such as Survivor, Foreigner, Journey, Night Ranger, Starship, Dokken and Australia's own Rick Springfield. In 2010 White Widdow signed with the AOR Heaven label and stormed onto the Melodic Rock scene across the globe with the release of their self-titled debut album throughout Europe. After four successful studio albums and numerous live appearances, the Australians now return with their 5th record which is entitled “Victory”.

2018 has seen White Widdow re-enter the studio, celebrating ten years since the band began and an album cover that throws back to the style of their debut. "Victory" incorporates a strong Pomp element in the songs along with White Widdow's traditional classic 80's AOR sound, the band allowing their influence of bands like Giuffria and White Sister to really come through. Featuring over the top pompus keyboards, stacked harmony vocals from the Millis brothers and Enzo Almanzi's tasty solos throughout.   Formed in Melbourne, Australia in 2008 and centered around the Millis brothers Jules (Vocals) & Xavier (Keyboards) with Guitar virtuoso Enzo Almanzi. Raised on a healthy diet of 80’s Arena Rock and influenced by artists such as Survivor, Dokken, Night Ranger, White Sister & Giuffria.

In 2010 White Widdow stormed onto the Melodic Rock scene across the globe with the release of their self titled debut album, filled with swirling keyboards, blistering guitar playing and big choruses. The release of the debut was met by the press with rave reviews making it into Classic Rock Magazine's top 10 AOR albums for 2010.  Hot on the heels of their debut, White Widdow quickly returned with their follow up release “Serenade” in September 2011. "Serenade" was heaped with praise by the press as one of the best albums in the genre of 2011, gaining 9/10 in both Classic Rock and Powerplay magazines and receiving a 94% on the coveted website melodicrock.com.

In support of "Serenade", White Widdow hit the road playing festivals and headlining club shows throughout Europe which saw them tour through Switzerland, Germany, Sweden, Italy, Greece and England. Along the way performing at HEAT Festival (Germany) and Firefest (UK). This was followed in 2012 with a full tour of the UK as support band to English melodic rock band TEN.

After the unfortunate death of drummer George Kristy in 2013 and the departure of original bass player Trent Wilson, the Millis brothers and Almanzi regrouped with a rejuvenated new line up, featuring Ben Webster on Bass and Noel Tenny on Drums. The new line up released their third album “Crossfire” in late 2014, the album was met with much critical and fan acclaim receiving 8/10 in Classic Rock magazine, 9/10 in Powerplay magazine, 9/10 in Sweden Rock Magazine and 93% from melodicrock.com.

In support of “Crossfire”, White Widdow returned to tour the UK and Greece, as well as performing in Spain for the first time in 2015.

In early 2016 the Millis brothers began writing for what would become White Widdow’s fourth album “Silhouette”, setting out to capture the mid to late 80’s AOR sound, even more so than on previous White Widdow albums. The Millis brothers also teaming up with Almanzi, Tenny and Webster for some slightly more hard edged songs. The resulting album “Silhouete”, proving to be the best representation of the White Widdow sound so far, pure 80’s styled AOR, straight from the heart.

Boneyard Dog - Bluesbound Train

Release date: 25.11.2016
Advance video: https://youtu.be/X5D_WO4fGmQ
[]
Boneyard Dog is an Irish Classic/Blues Rock Band founded in 2015 and the brainchild of German/Italian Rock Singer Rob Mancini (Hotwire, Crush, Rob Mancini Band & Scar For Life) and Irish Blues guitar hero Davy Kerrigan.

Added to the line-up in early 2016 was American rock drummer Ron Wikso, an established artist known for his recording and touring work with some of the best musicians and known entertainers in the world including Cher, Richie Sambora (Bon Jovi), Foreigner, David Lee Roth (Van Halen), The Storm, Gregg Rolie (Santana/Journey), Eddie Money, CCR (Creedence Clearwater Revisited), Player (featuring Ronn Moss & Peter Beckett), Randy Meisner (the Eagles), Denny Laine (Paul McCartney & Wings/The Moody Blues), Dave Amato (REO Speedwagon/Ted Nugent/Jimmy Barnes), Michael Monarch (Steppenwolf), Dave Meniketti (Y&T), George Burns, Sammy Davis Jr., Peggy Lee and many others.

Half way through the writing of the debut album, Mancini contacted Tony Carey, former keyboarder of Richie Blackmore’s Rainbow. Carey played on the classic albums ‘Rising’ and ‘On Stage’, in the Rainbow line-up including Ronnie James Dio, Cozy Powell, Jimmy Bain and Ritchie Blackmore, touring the world for 2 years. He has recorded and released over 40 records, and produced records by John Mayall, Chris Norman, David Knopfler, Joe Cocker, and Peter Maffay (Germany’s top-selling rock artist). He has done several film scores and published well over 1,000 songs. Initially planned as a guest keyboarder on one of the tracks, Carey was impressed by the material and offered to fill the slot as keyboarder on the entire album.
[]
Staying true to their roots in rock’n’roll music, a style all members are involved in for over a decade, the band also implemented their love and passion for blues into the project. With a lot of experience, compassion and inspiration the foundations are set for a new Classic Rock album that will find many new friends and listeners.

Mancini’s and Kerrigan’s song writing are combining harmonies, killer riffs and solos as well as creative lyrics to create an outstanding work of art.

Boneyard Dog recorded their debut album ‘Bluesbound Train’ between March and September 2016 at Total Control Studio Austin/Texas and GMG Studio ONE in Donegal/Ireland. The album was produced, mixed and mastered by Rob Mancini. In August 2016 the band subsequently signed to German label AOR Heaven.
Outside the music business, the band is involved in philanthropy, having created the Boneyard Foundation, a foundation benefitting victims of motorcycle accidents or their immediate families. The bands proceeding from the track ‘Lonely Road’ featuring Marc Lynn (Gotthard) and the accompanying video will go towards the Boneyard Foundation.

MELODICROCKFEST Australia; Mitch Malloy Pulls Out

Release Year:
2015
Categories:
Tour News

It is with great regret that I must announce the withdrawal of MITCH MALLOY from MelodicRock Fest Australia.

Mitch was really looking forward to making his Australian debut with his backing band Kaato, but an increasingly packed production schedule in Nashville and ongoing recording of a new solo album ahead of Mitch’s UK tour have forced him to have to pull out of this event.

Mitch sends his apologies to Aussie fans.

In light of the short time frame between now and the event, an international guest is unlikely to be able to replace Mitch, rather each band on the day will play longer sets. I know Paul Laine’s happy to get more time and BB Steal will be taking as much time as they like to run through their classic debut and some Boss tracks.

Further information on an addition to the Friday lineup (in place of Kaato) will be announced shortly.

MelodicRock Fest takes place May 13/14, 2016 at the Elephant & Wheelbarrow, St. Kilda.

Paul will perform a true best of set, featuring favourites from Danger Danger as well as all aspects of his career. This will be Paul’s second trip down under.

MITCH MALLOY (USA)
Mitch Malloy was already making waves in the late 80s but for AOR fans he burst onto the scene in 1992 with a debut album for RCA which immediately became a classic. Since then he’s recorded another 8 studio albums and toured worldwide. He continues to record and perform and is an in demand producer in Nashville.
This will be Mitch’s first trip to Australia and will see him deliver a high energy set featuring his hits and classic album cuts, backed by a powerhouse band.

BB STEAL (Adelaide)
BB Steal are legends of the Australian melodic rock scene. Their major label debut was produced by Def Leppard’s Phil Collen and the band has often been touted as the “new” Def Leppard due to their layered, anthemic sound.
This will be their first Melbourne show in many years and will also feature permanent member, vocalist Craig Csongrady and the return of original guitarist Kevin Pratt! Expect the band to deliver a set heavy with tracks from their cult debut album as well as a few from 2013’s comeback album ‘Resurrection’.

WHITE WIDDOW (Melbourne)
White Widdow are the torch bearers for the classic 80s keyboard driven AOR sound here in Australia. The band are regulars on the Melbourne rock circuit and will deliver a set featuring tracks from their first three albums and their soon to be recorded fourth studio opus.

THE RADIO SUN (Melbourne)
The Radio Sun are fast becoming Australia’s harmony kings, with two highly acclaimed albums now available, both filled with classic harmony driven AOR. The guys have also doubled as Paul Laine’s backing band for the last few years, appearing with him at events in USA as well as here in Australia. Expect a great set of song from the two albums and a few surprises too.

SERPENTINE SKY (Melbourne)
Releasing their debut album 20 years after originally forming, Serpentine Sky are looking to make up for lost time and will blow fans away with their energy and the highly addictive songs from their recently released debut.

TEARGAS (Melbourne)
Teargas are back together after a 10 year hiatus. Last seen acting as Jeff Scott Soto’s support act for his 2004 OZ tour, the Melbourne lads are ready to kick it back into high gear and will open the main day with the energy of a headliner.

Friday May 13:

KAATO (Sydney)
Just who is Kaato? You won’t forget them after this show. Get ready to hear the band’s debut album, which is currently being completed with producer and guitarist…..

VANISHING POINT (Melbourne)
Melbourne’s own melodic metal heroes are excited to take part in this event. Without doubt, the heaviest band of the festival, but for this occasion the guys are going to delve into their back catalogue for some more melodic numbers alongside their most epic tracks.

TONK (Canberra)
Tonk take the hard rock back to the glory days of the American Sunset Strip. They have a groove and an attitude Guns N Roses would be proud of. Another rarity to have the band playing in Melbourne.

PAUL LAINE (Acoustic Set)
A completely different set of solo and Danger Danger tracks to blow fans away.

BLACK MAJESTY (Exclusive Acoustic Set)
An Australian exclusive! The Black Majesty guys have never played an acoustic set in their home country, so expect them to deliver something very special.

THE RADIO SUN (Acoustic Set)
Kicking off the event is one of the hardest working bands this weekend. The band will be promoting their upcoming acoustic project.

Melbourne, Australia -  The Australian Melodic Hard Rock band WHITE WIDDOW, after releasing three critically acclaimed albums to date, are very pleased to announced that they have re-signed to the German based AOR Heaven label for a Worldwide release of their forth album in 2016. AOR Heaven label boss Georg Siegl had this to say - "It's a pleasure to continue working with the "boys from down under".

They have delivered 3 high quality albums in a row and I don't have any doubts that album #4 will be another cracker. Jules and his gang are an easy going bunch and they're the prime example for what AOR Heaven stands for !".

The new album will follow their tried and true formula of 80's style Arena AOR and is set for a mid 2016 release. White Widdow frontman Jules Millis had this to add - "We're very happy to re-sign with Georg and the team at AOR Heaven for our fourth album, they have believed in us since the start and they truly love AOR/Melodic Rock as music as much as we do, so we're excited to serve up another album full of 1985 style Arena AOR in 2016!!

Glorious! Aussie AORsters White Widdow are back with their third studio album after the untimely passing of drummer George Kristy and the departure of original bass player Trent Wilson.
A rejuvenated new line up, featuring Ben Webster on Bass and Noel Tenny on Drums fired the band back to life and the result is this stunning classic 80s AOR album that is packed with layers and layers of vocals, harmonies and lush lush keyboards.
The album packs a bigger punch than their first two. The production is tough and tight and the rhythm section is really pumping.

But the star of proceedings here are the brilliant songs and their massive harmonies.
I always find that White Widdow albums take a little time to grow and develop on me, but once they do, there’s no going back and their songs stay with you for days.

Caught In The Crossfire is a big opener with a killer bridge to chorus hook, keyboards and guitar both driving the song.
Fly Me Away is simply glorious AOR, no other way to describe. Pomp and 80s keyboards with a contemporary production.
Below The Belt is another ‘belter’ of an AOR track with a marvelous chorus.
Dreams Don’t Die is right out of 1985, those keyboards could have been lifted from either Giuffria album.
Angel is maybe the band’s heaviest number to date, it’s not metal, but it’s AOR with big attitude.
Carry The Heartache is another gem of a track, the sentimental song packing a punch…and a great chorus.
Never Again is another harmonized, multi-layered AOR anthem to finish in style.

Think early Harem Scarem, White Sister, Dakota, Houston and recent newcomers In Faith and you’ll have a fair idea of where this sits musically.
The album is mixed once again by Pelle Saether (Grand Design).
White Widdow are back with quite possibly their best album yet.

WHITE WIDDOW New Album 'Crossfire' Released Nov 28

WHITE WIDDOW were formed in Melbourne, Australia in 2008 and centered around the Millis brothers Jules (Vocals) & Xavier (Keyboards) with Guitar virtuoso Enzo Almanzi. Raised on a healthy diet of 80's Arena Rock and influenced by artists such as Survivor, Dokken, Night Ranger, White Sister & Giuffria.

Hot on the heels of their debut, White Widdow quickly returned with their follow up release 'Serenade' in September 2011.

White Widdow had initially hoped to release their third album at the end of 2013, however 2013 proved to be a difficult year for the band with original bass player Trent Wilson retiring from the music industry and the unfortunate death of drummer George Kristy. Despite these set backs, in early 2014 the Millis brothers and Almanzi regrouped with a rejuvenated new line up, featuring Ben Webster on Bass and Noel Tenny on Drums. The band set about making their third album 'Crossfire', which shows the band retaining their trademark keyboard driven Melodic Hard Rock. Showing at times a slightly more hard rock edge than on the previous albums, yet still drenched in melody and hooks. Produced & engineered by Xavier Millis and mixed once again by Pelle Saether (Grand Design), White Widdow are back with quite possibly their best album yet.

Tracklist: Tracklist: 1. Caught In The Crossfire, 2. Fly Me Away, 3. Just Another Night, 4. Below The Belt, 5. Dreams Don't Die, 6. Too Many Tears, 7. Angel, 8. Born To Be A Rebel, 9. Carry The Heartache, 10. Never Again
