In an interview with AXS, rock band NELSON have signalled that their upcoming studio album, Peace Out, due for Frontiers Records in 2015 will be their last before launching a new project.
"Matthew and I are finishing up recording an album called 'Peace Out'; which will literally be the last Nelson rock record that will ever be recorded. We've been putting a lot of love into it for the past year and are going out with a bang. It's a classic, vintage album and I'm pretty stoked about it. In January, we'll start focusing on a new, modern day 'Everly Brothers meets The Eagles' country rock project called 'Matthew and Gunnar'."

Swedish Melodic Rockers DALTON return after a 25 years break with their brand new album “Pit Stop” coming out on Frontiers Music Srl on October 17th in Europe and October 21st in North America.

Together with Europe and Treat, for a few years in the late 80’s, DALTON was a force to be reckoned with in Sweden. They enjoyed successful touring, teen media coverage, TV appearances and a string of radio hits. Even world stars such as Bon Jovi and Michael Bolton provided original songs to their two albums.
The band, formed by ex-Treat drummer Mats Dahlberg and named after his nickname, went all in with the current trends in melodic hair metal. Their image was cutting edge with designer outfits and enough hair spray every night to challenge the average user’s yearly consumption. The band was killed by grunge in the early 90´s, a destiny shared by many bands of the 80´s.
“I left the band because I wanted a harder edge while the rest of the guys wanted to go softer”, Mats explains. He formed the short lived band Speedy Gonzales with guitarist Tommy Denander and Therion-singer Thomas Vikström, but the project folded before it took off. The rest of the Dalton members continued with a replacement drummer, but shortly called it a day. Dalton was left behind in the pit stop, dried out of gas.
25 years after their debut album “The Race Is On”, the original members came back with a vengeance and a reunion filmed for TV. “That’s how it started”, Mats explains. “A producer called me and asked if we would reunite and if they could film it for a documentary. I thought it was a joke”. “So did I”, Bosse laughs, “but it was true - and from the first rehearsal it was like time had stood still. It was so much fun!”
Old hits were polished to shine and the success at premiere gig when opening for THE SCORPIONS in Sweden in December 2012 was a fact. “That night back in December ignited the fuse, we all felt the same”, says Bosse – “let’s get the Dalton wheels in motion again. We want to celebrate the legacy of the 80’s rock scene by putting out a new album and take it on tour. Just like we did back in the days”.
Loaded with inspiration and dedication the band went through demos made for the never recorded third album along with some newly written songs. They ended up with 11 pure excellent tracks crafted for a 80’s flavored Melodic Rock album in a contemporary suit, recorded in good company with magic minded producer Erik Mårtensson (Eclipse, W.E.T.).
A first shimmering taste of the songs from album was revealed at the Frontiers Rock Festival where the band premiered the track “Hey You” in front of an ecstatic crowd. DALTON is fueled up and back on the race track, ready to go – the race is on!

The song is from the band's new studio album, ...The Stories We Could Tell, which will be released September 30 in North America via Frontiers Music Srl. It's the followup to 2011's What If.
The album features the original Mr. Big lineup of Gilbert (guitar), Billy Sheehan (bass) Eric Martin (vocals) and Pat Torpey (drums). However, because Torpey was recently diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease, drummer Matt Starr (Ace Frehley) will fill in for Torpey on the band's upcoming world tour.
"The new album rocks," Gilbert says. "I love playing guitar, singing and writing with Eric, Billy and Pat. And after 25 years, I'm proud we can make an album that is melodic, powerful, interesting, groovy and emotional."

KINGS & QUEENS OF THE UNDERGROUNDwas primarily produced by Trevor Horn, with Greg Kurstin also contributing as a producer to two songs, including the anthemic lead single, 'Can't Break Me Down,'now streaming at the new BillyIdol.net. The iTunes edition of the album will also exclusively include 'Hollywood Promises,' a new song recorded during the album sessions.
The album will arrive close to the release of BILLY IDOL's highly anticipated self-written autobiography, DANCING WITH MYSELF, which as previously announced will be released worldwide the week ofOctober 7.

Three Sides Live was filmed in November 1981 on the 'Abacab' tour in North America and was originally released on VHS to coincide with the live album of the same name. Originally filmed in 16mm, the footage has now been fully restored and is being reissued as a standalone DVD and Blu-ray for the first time. From The Fire have completed work on their new album and will release Evil Men Do in October.
"Pat Regan, who co-produced and engineered the first From The Fire album, "Thirty Days, Dirty Nights", has signed on to mix and add his ear to the finalizing of the upcoming From The Fire release, "Evil Men Do", slated to emerge immediately after the mixing and mastering are done. A single, "In Your Dreams", will be available for download prior to the album drop, in early October.
It's been a long process - far longer than the band anticipated, but the result of our collective efforts, helped greatly in the studio by the talents of Nicky Moroch, is one that we're proud of, and that we think our fans will enjoy.
We look forward to having the album in our hands in time for Firefest in late October, and we can't wait to see "Evil Men Do" join our first record in the collections of AOR fans everywhere.

GUN’s contemporary take on authentic rock gave them an edge over their peers during the late-80s. Formed in Glasgow by the Gizzi brothers, they came to re-invent the rock ‘n’ roll genre. The original idea for Wild Rose was sprung in 2004 by Andy Rock. A lot of soul-searching was required initially, as it was essential to find a suitable line up to harness the stylish and polished mellow sound of a quality A.O.R. Band. Finally, after two years and several line up changes Wild Rose settled on the line up today, introduced to an unsuspecting public back in 2006, with quality songs composed by Andy Rock.
In 2007, Wild Rose released their first promo single CD entitled "It's All About Love" which contained the hard hitting title track and "Too Late", tracks that rapidly became accepted and loved by the A.O.R. audience. During the same period Wild Rose were picked up as support on Talisman's Farewell Tour in Hellas.
At the beginning of 2008, two members took a break from Wild Rose to take care of their military obligations. The band was put onto hold for a while and Andy Rock continued to work on the song material. They returned in mid 2009 and recorded a 10 track demo CD with tracks written by Andy Rock and Dirty Haris.
These songs matured through the rehearsal process and ended up in professionally recorded versions on the band's debut album 'Half Past Midnight' which was finally released on 10 October 2011 on the Retrospect Records label and received great results in the A.O.R. specialized press. The band also performed two successful live shows in Athens and Thessaloniki to support their debut album and received a great response and applause from the Hellenic audience.
January 2012 and Wild Rose took part at "Brave New Love: A Tribute To Alien" project covering Alien's well known track "Feel My Love".
March 2012 and Wild Rose performed at Rosewood Festival II along with bands like Newman, Work Of Art,Konkurent to name a few, taking rave reviews from the music press.
Later on 2012, the band has worked on new songs and recorded their second album 'Dangerous' which was released on 22 February 2013 on the AOR Heaven label. This release was produced & mixed by Andy Rockand co-produced by Wild Rose between December 2011 and September 2012 at WR Studios, Thessaloniki, Hellas and is the first to feature new main vocalist David A. Saylor (Push UK).
Wild Rose 'Dangerous' receives rave reviews worldwide from the press and in June 2013 hits No.1 on import sales in Japan (BURRN Magazine).
August 2013 and Wild Rose debut album Half Past Midnight hits SOLD OUT on the Retrospect Records label. Room Experience is the name of a brand new high profile project, born from the artistic partnership between keyboardist and songwriter Gianluca Firmo (from Brescia, Italy) and the production team composed by Davide "Dave Rox" Barbieri (Wheels Of Fire, Charming Grace) and Pierpaolo "Zorro11" Monti (Shining Line, Charming Grace, Lionville).
The debut album is currently being recorded in Italy under the production's oversight of duo Barbieri/Monti, while mix and mastering duties will be handled by star producer of the moment, Alessandro Del Vecchio (Hardline, Edge Of Forever, Rated X, Shining Line), at his Ivorytears Music Studio in Somma Lombardo (Va, Italy).
Firmo's songwriting skills are going to offer an exciting journey through a wide range of melodic rock styles, with influences coming from classic AOR to more up-to-date melodic hard-rock. With such a rich variety of styles to face, a powerhouse and versatile vocalist was needed in order to carry songs to completion, so UK's extraordinary singer David Readman (Pink Cream 69, Voodoo Circle) was officially approached to perform all the songs of the project.
The album is scheduled for a release in early 2015 on label tba. Further details regarding additional guests involved and more infos about the project will follow in the next weeks.
Russell Allen and Jorn Lande team for their forth partnership with the album The Great Divide.
To be honest, I wasn’t looking forward to this, even with the first three albums from the duo all ranking highly in my reviews and my great fondness for mastermind/songwriter/guitarist/producer Magnus Karlsson.
One reason is because Magnus is not involved in this at all. And secondly because taking over from him is Timo Tolkki, who has recently delivered two poorly received Avalon projects, both falling short with production as well as song writing.
Now I don’t have the writing credits for this album yet, but I do know that Timo produced and mixed it and he’s on the way to redeeming himself.
Despite missing that full frontal audio assault that Magnus gives us with his guitars and production, The Great Divide still manages to pack a good punch thanks to a tight Dennis Ward mix.
It’s well produced and is almost as heavy as its predecessors. Guitars still rule the day.
Vocally the album is every bit as impressive as Jorn and Russell deliver their usually high standard in vocals. There is less interplay between the two singers overall, but it’s great to hear both singing quality material with gusto.
Timo also delivers in the songwriting department. There’s some great melodic metal gems here.
That track is a pretty good indication of what’s to come on the record. There is some blistering rockers in Dream About Tomorrow, In The Hands Of Time and The Hymn To The Fallen.
Mid-tempo ear rattlers like Lady Of Winter and Solid Ground show off the guys at their very best and then there’s a huge metal ballad to close the album Bitter Sweet.
So lots to look forward to here. I’m going to spend some additional time with it before my final review, but initial fears have certainly been laid to rest.

Following three successful albums written, played and produced by Magnus Karlsson (of Primal Fear/Starbreaker), the new album “The Great Divide” offers a substantial change in that former Stratovarius guitarist and main composer, Timo Tolkki took on the challenge to write and produce the new recording. Tolkki also performs all instrumentation on the album except for drums, which are handled by Jami Huovinen.
Work on the album started in late 2013 when the first songs were demoed and sent to the two singers, who loved the direction of the new music. Also, for the first time, Jorn Lande has contributed vocal melodies and lyrics to the album. The final result is certainly outstanding and the crisp mixes from Dennis Ward (PC 69, Place Vendome, Unisonic) have delivered an amazing sounding album. Stunning cover art created by French artist Stan Decker completes the package of the most eagerly anticipated Melodic Metal release of 2014!
