LEGENDARY VOICES OF ROCK TO TOUR AUSTRALIA!

Legendary golfer Jan Stephenson is proud to announce the Legendary Voices of Rock tour featuring the music of Journey and Kansas with Journey’s lead singer Steve Augeri and Kansas’s lead singer Robby Steinhardt. Steve Augeri will be singing Journey’s greatest hits such as “Any Way You Want It” and “Don’t Stop Believing” while Robby Steinhardt will be playing his iconic violin and performing Kansas hits such as “Carry on Wayward Son” and “Dust in The Wind”. Tour dates and ticket info available at www.janstephensonevents.com

The Legendary Voices of Rock show is two hours long and will visit Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne and Hobart and various cities in between including Tweed Heads, Armidale, Port Macquarie, Newcastle and the Central Coast.

The Legendary Voices of Rock is presented by champion Australian professional golfer Jan Stephenson. Jan Stephenson has been presenting tours throughout the states, and this is the first time she is doing it in Australia! “I am so excited to bring these American treasures to Australia, the Legendary Voices of Rock tour is going to be an incredible time for people of all ages,” says Jan Stephenson.

Steve Augeri is an American rock singer best known as the lead vocalist for the rock group Journey from 1998 to 2006. Steve recorded three albums during a successful eight-year tenure that brought the world’s most accomplished melodic rock group back to the stage for multiple world tours to millions of fans, most notably for the songs “Anyway You Want It” and “ Don’t Stop Believing” which are still popular today, used in shows like Glee and movies like Charlies Angels.

Robby Steinhardt is best known as the rock violinist and singer for the group Kansas, to which he was the front man and co-lead singer along with keyboardist Steve Walsh, from 1973–1982 and 1997–2006. Steinhardt's violin sound, and its interplay with the guitar and keyboards, defined the Kansas sound. His lead vocals provided a contrast to the high tenor of singer Steve Walsh and the two often played off each other and sang in harmony, with Steinhardt sometimes taking the lower scale, but also holding the high notes in songs such as “Cheyenne Anthem” as well as the spine tingling scream during “Portrait (he knew)”.

Stormbringer will back both Steve and Robby. The band effortlessly delivers air tight renditions of hit songs like Queen's ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’, Pink Floyd's ‘The Wall’ and Bon Jovi's ‘Livin' on a Prayer’. Possessing a rockin' catalogue of non-stop party and dance songs, the band provides crowd pleasing music to perfectly match any large event. Stormbringer features soaring lead vocals, crisp four-part harmonies, thunderous drums, dramatic keyboards and crunching guitars in their hundred-plus song repertoire.

The Legendary Voices of Rock will play 13 shows. VIP tickets include a pre show reception hosted by Jan Stephenson and a meet and greet and photo with the stars, plus an autographed poster.

PJ FARLEY to Release Solo Debut on MelodicRock Records

MelodicRock Records is very proud to announce a partnership with Trixter bassist P.J. FARLEY for the release of his debut solo album ‘Boutique Sound Frames’, due for release worldwide May 20.

‘Boutique Sound Frames’ is an outstanding musical statement from a dynamic singer/songwriter, who dives into 11 modern melodic rock tracks guaranteed to stay on high rotation in the months ahead.

P.J. describes the album he’s spent over a decade writing:

“I wrote and recorded these songs over the years alongside any band I was in at the time. I felt that the songs weren’t a good fit for any of those bands at that point. These songs are a lot more personal and I guess I always felt at some point I would release a solo record based on the nature of the lyrics.”

“They all came from a very genuine place creatively speaking. That there was no set goal with them enabled me to just write whatever I was feeling at the time, without having any pressure to conform to any certain mold, genre or label chirping. It took 12 years or so, haha, but a wise man once said, ‘If it’s good enough, it doesn’t matter when it comes out’”.

Well, it’s finally coming out May 20 and you can pre-order today! All pre-orders will receive a limited edition sticker of the album cover as well as getting the disc shipped ahead of the official release date.

P.J. FARLEY started his professional career as a musician at the ripe old age of 16 as the bass player for Trixter (www.trixterrocks.com). The band signed its first major label record deal with MCA Records in 1989. Trixter went on to sell well over 1 million records and had 3 #1 videos on MTV. They toured with bands like Kiss, Poison, Scorpions, Warrant and more.
P.J. has played just about every arena/theater/outdoor pavilion and club all over the world.

In 2002 P.J joined up with Active Rock chart toppers RA (Universal/Republic) in which he embarked on the 2nd chapter of his recording and touring career. Sneaking into the Modern Hard Rock genre and touring with bands like Staind, Seether and Sevendust , P.J. was able to remain relevant and creative in the music business while Trixter took a 13 year hiatus.

In 2009 P.J. was asked to join up with Lita Ford and toured worldwide with her for almost 4 years, along with a number of short stints with other artists such as
Ours, Jimmy Gnecco and Deepfield.
All along this timeframe, P.J. had been quietly recording songs. Writing, performing all instruments and producing. Those songs have become a cohesive collection that now make up his debut solo album titled ‘Boutique Sound Frames’.

Frontiers to Release WITHEM's 'The Unforgiving Road' on June 3

Frontiers Music Srl is excited to announce the release of WITHEM's new album, entitled 'The Unforgiving Road' on June 3.

Withem is an upcoming Progressive Metal band hailing from Norway who are inspired by the likes of Symphony X, Pagan's Mind, Dream Theater and Circus Maximus, concentrating heavily on melodic, memorable hooks, but still with plenty of stunning and virtuoso instrumental sections. The band debuted with 'The Point of You' in 2013, gathering excellent reviews from several music websites, blogs and magazines from all over the world. The release was followed by European touring with Pagan's Mind, Circus Maximus and Seventh Wonder, and performances at both ProgPower USA and ProgPower Oslo, always with an extremely positive reception.

The new album, 'The Unforgiving Road' sees the band perfecting their style. WITHEM's gripping, melody-driven songs avoid the clich's and pitfalls of overly dramatic instrumental sections and sheer senseless complexity and instead center on creative interplay between the musicians, while the unique vocal range of Ole Aleksander Wagenius gives the band a distinctive touch. Just like the debut album, 'The Unforgiving Road' was produced and mixed by guitarist 'yvind Voldmo Larsen at his own Lionheart Studio, boasting powerful and bombastic production values with plenty of moments for the listener to notice the most subtle intricate parts of the songs.

"The Unforgiving Road is a the culmination of almost a year worth of composing, recording and producing. We didn't want to rush things after the first album, to avoid the usual pitfalls of "sophomore albums," says WITHEM guitar player and producer Oyvind Larsen "The challenges we encountered while writing and recording can only be matched with how rewarding it feels after everything is set and done!"

"'yvind once again took the helm for most of the composition and the whole scope of recording, mixing and producing, and we can't wait to hear everyone's reactions after they listen to the end result," adds new bassist Miguel Pereira. "We are looking forward to start promoting The Unforgiving Road with live shows right after the album is out, and meet all our friends and fans throughout the world."

Tracklisting of 'The Unforgiving Road' includes:

1. 'Intro
2. Exit
3. In The Hands Of A God
4. The Pain I Collected
5. Riven
6. C'est La Vie
7. The Eye In The Sky
8. Arrhythmia
9. In My Will
10. Unaffected Love
11. Outro

WITHEM:
Ole Aleksander Wagenius - Vocals
Frank Nordeng Roe - Drums
Oyvind Voldmo Larsen - Guitar
Miguel Pereira - Bass

FROM THE FIRE Sign to Lion's Pride Music for 'OctOpus'

Lions Pride Music is ecstatic to have signed a classic act like FROM THE FIRE for their up and coming new studio album, “OctOpus”, due out late 2016. Also to follow will be re-press of the band’s first two albums, “Evil Men Do”, and of course the classic debut album, “Thirty Days & Dirty Nights”.

A LITTLE HISTORY

In August 1990, a band was formed to showcase the songwriting talents of New Jersey native Nadine Arel. Michael Sciotto was going to be the drummer; Paul St. James (Drive She Said) would play bass, and Arel would play keys.

Mike called Long Islander J.D. Kelly to check out the material. Since he'd been a fan of Sciotto's talents for a while, Kelly was anxious to meet the band - and it only took a few moments of listening to the songs to realize that the group's potential was huge. Kelly joined on the spot, and brought some songs of his own.

Only one piece was missing. Voodoo X Guitarist Tommy Lafferty - who had been in cover bands with Kelly, and was a friend of Sciotto - was contacted to see if he knew of any guitar players looking for a gig. Tommy replied "Yeah... me". That reply started a series of events that would take the band from an unknown, unsigned act to a top-flight AOR outfit with a record deal, all in the space of less than a week.

The magic started when the newly-formed band was spotted at their very first gig a tribute to the legendary Stevie Ray Vaughaan, only weeks after his passing by indie-label execs Mark Brian Levine annd Steven Marder, who approached the group after their set and offered a contract with their label, Metropolis Records. The timing was right, the label offer was a great one, and the band members knew that opportunity was knocking loudly.

GO TIME

What happened next was a blur of contract signings, packing, and flying out to Los Angeles to meet producer Jean Beauvoir and co-producer/Engineer Pat Regan at Fortress Sound. The first week saw intense rehearsal, and the choosing of nine songs for the album, including two covers: the Lafferty/Beauvoir composition "Same Song", and a cover of Eric Carmen's classic "Go All The Way".

Rough mixes were promising. The strong performances of the band had set a great foundation for Beauvoir and Regan's polish and finesse, and the combination gave the album a slick, top-class feel. As Christmas approached, the band prepared to return to the New York tri-state area. Beauvoir and Regan stayed behind at Fortress Sound to reset the studio and mix the album. It was around that time that a late night session of a different kind took place at the band's condo: the long days and even longer nights of recording, publicity, and activities of the unofficial kind had inspired a simple name for the upcoming release: "Thirty Days and Thirty Nights".  During a loud playback in the control room Record Exec Mark Levine asked the band what the working title of the album was, Tommy replied Thirty Days and Thirty Nights, Mark chuckled at the title. When asked what was so funny Mark replied, “Great title, Thirty Days and Dirty Nights..huh??? A Classic was born, thx Mark!

TRACTION

In late 1991 a European label called Music for Nations grabbed the chance to distribute the album across the Atlantic. Active Records pressed the release, and put it on the market in the UK, Spain, Germany, France, and throughout the continent. Initial press was phenomenal; "Raw", "Kerranng", "Metal Edge", and the Belgian magazine "Rock Report" all praised the record - the last, in Flemish - and it seemed that things were looking up. The band continued to rehearse and write songs, some of which were demo'd in a crude home studio in Kelly's apartment. The recording gear was nothing special, but those songs - including a cover of Brett Smiley's "Blame it on the Moon", delivered to the band by none other than legendary rock impresario Andrew Loog Oldham himself, were... so much so that a leaked copy of the home studio sessions resulted in a bootleg release via Japan.

Despite the great press and solid response, the pre-Internet distance between the band and its fan base took its toll, and From The Fire started to fragment into smaller projects, as members pursued opportunities outside of the group.

On the night of October 17, 1992, at NYC's Rocketeria, From the Fire performed what would be their last live show for over 20 years.

PHOENIX RISES

A re-release of "Thirty Days" in 2009 sparked talk of a reunion, but the actual re-assembling of the band would take place in 2013, when Sciotto, Kelly, and Lafferty converged on Sciotto's upstate New York studio to record "Evil Men Do". The album was ready literally just in time for the band's live performance at the 2014 "Firefest" in Nottingham, UK. Containing strong AOR and melodic rock elements, it remains a collectible that has seen a very limited pressing.

In late summer of 2015, Kelly and Lafferty took up production of From The Fire's third album, "OctOpus", going so far as to release two songs from the album onto social media for their fans to enjoy. The first song, "You Will Survive", is a tribute to the late singer Jimi Jamison, who had a tremendous influence on Kelly both as a singer and songwriter. The second, "The Night I Made You Mine", is a haunting piece about a tryst between lovers - and the heartbreak it ultimately causes them both.

With the balance of the songs to be recorded leaning heavily toward the style of classic American AOR, "OctOpus" is slated for completion in early 2016, with some "familiar names" in the production credits. As of this writing, Lafferty and Kelly are assembling a top-shelf live band to support the album with American and European tour dates to be announced upon the record's release. Stay tuned.

Erika was born on a cold winter night in Skelleftea, Sweden where she started her own band at just 12 years old. As a teenager she relocated to Stockholm where she started to write and record demos with various rock bands. In the late 1980’s she dated and later married guitarist Yngwie Malmsteen.  In 1989 Erika was offered her first deal for a record, which was called “Cold Winter Night”, an album she co-wrote which proved to be a resounding success. The following tours were a sell out and Erika became a rock singing sensation. Her marriage with Yngwie ended in 1992 and she found herself back in Stockholm and recording two more successful albums “In the arms of a stranger” and “Lady Luck”. The latter album featured the hit song “Lost in Paradise” a duet with Eurovision star Jan Johensen.

In 1995 Erika recorded “When Christmas comes to town”, a song which is regarded as a Christmas classic in Sweden and then  released her fourth album “Planet X” and then “Ripe” which were both very big in Japan.

In 2014 Erika started to record the sixth outing which is “Deaf, Dumb and Blonde”, an album which surpasses all she has done – she still has the vocal power of her earlier releases and is set to make a big stir in the rock world once more. With production from Alex Angleflod and Erika herself the album was also recorded at Red Door studio (Abba, Beyonce, Korn). Also featured on the recording are band members from Europe, Candlemass and In Flames.

During her career Erika has appeared on countless TV shows in Scandinavia and  Japan as well as writing for many other well-known artists, one of those being “AOR” (Frederic Slama).  In short she is a legend and this new album should see her extending her popularity to a whole new audience.
