Harem Scarem's homecoming show at The Phoenix Concert Theatre
in Toronto on 2CD/DVD & Blu Ray
Out in December on Frontiers
Frontiers Music Srl, is pleased to announce the upcoming live release by the Canadian rock group HAREM SCAREM, entitled LIVE AT THE PHOENIX on December 4th.
Available in 2CD/DVD, Blu-ray and Digital formats, this new release, marks the first proper live album recorded by HAREM SCAREM in front of their “home” audience. Singer Harry Hess explains “Canada is where we started touring all those years ago and to be able to invite our friends, family and fans to this show was cool.”
Recorded live on Saturday July 11th, 2015 at the Phoenix Concert Theatre in Toronto, this happened to be the perfect time and venue for the band to capture live recordings of numerous songs from their latest record "Thirteen" and also to revisit their classic early material. It was an honest and raw performance showcasing the repertoire of a band which is at the top of their game.
“It wasn't easy coming up with this set list but I think we got to all the important stuff plus it's always fun to play the new material that you haven't been playing for 20 years.” Tells Harry “It is definitely the most extensive live recording and video that we have ever done and the quality of both the video and audio are by far the best of anything we have ever done.”
For fans around the world that were not able to see Harem Scarem on their "Thirteen" tour, this special Blu Ray DVD and double audio cd is a must!!

DVD // Blu Ray - Garden Of Eden; Hard To Love; Saviors Never Cry; Dagger; Distant Memory; The Midnight Hours; Mandy; Killing Me; Slowly Slipping Away; Troubled Times; Sentimental Blvd.; Turn Around; Stranger Than Love; All I Need; Saints And Sinners; So Blind; Human Nature; Voice Of Reason; Change Comes Around; No Justice.
Richie Blackmore needs no introduction and now after 10 Blackmore’s Night releases, nor does his better half, the very talented Candice Night.
Together the pair has formed a union more stable than Deep Purple or Rainbow ever was and Richie seems more than content rolling out an album every year of this specialized blend of medieval/folk/acoustic/renaissance music.
This is one of those occasions where you must remove any personal bias in order to deliver a fair review. Because that musical description rules me out as a listener. Naturally I’ve spun this a couple of times for review purposes, but you’d have to lock me in a dungeon, tied to a Rank if you wanted me to listen to it again. It’s just not on my musical radar. At all.
However – it’s very good! Of course it is. Richie is a savant of the genre. A prodigy of anything musical. So of course it’s immaculately produced and mixed and filled with an equal mix of instrumental passages and sweetly sung lullabies.
I must admit to being quite partial to the cover of Mike Oldfield’sMoonlight Shadow; but on the other hand, I Got You Babe is cringeworthy.
The rest are thoughtfully composed originals.
So it all comes down to taste really. You really, really have to be into this stuff to appreciate it. The acoustic dexterity of Blackmore is as exquisite as always and Candice has a soothing vocal.
Rockers avoid! Lovers of ye olde kingdom of fantasy and followers of past albums will find this another tasteful addition to the Blackmore catalogue.
You’ll have to indulge Geoff Tate just a little longer before he realizes fans don’t want what he’s selling. After forcing myself to listen to this a dozen times, you can see where the former prog-metal hero wants to go musically. Sadly it’s not where 90% of his fans want.
I get where he’s coming from. This 50 minute expressive, experimental, alt-metal album does attempt to make a statement, but in the end it’s just really hard to listen to.
There is no cohesiveness that binds the album together and while he comes close to former glories on the impressive Re-Inventing The Future and maybe Life Or Death; elsewhere he delivers utter dreck like The Stranger and Hearing Voices that I struggle to think who it might appeal to.
Tracks like Burn and Ready To Fly just drag and the mood building intro track Choices is largely pointless.
Its 2015 – the market place is selective. Fans want what they want. There isn’t much room for epic concept pieces unless they are very very good.
The production here is ok, but I find that it’s hard to get a grip on everything happening within the mix, it’s a bit of a blur really. There's a lot going on and it's complex enough, but it just doesn't flow for me.
Listening to music should be easy, whatever the mood may call for – escapism, aggression, adrenaline, relaxing or challenging. But it should be easy. This album is a real chore to get through. There’s just too many left turns on this album. Basically Tate keeps turning left and ends up going around in circles.

The return of the KHYMERA Project - fully in the hands of Dennis Ward
New album 'The Grand Design' out in December on Frontiers
Frontiers Music Srl is excited to announce the release of the fourth album of the KHYMERA project entitled “The Grand Design”, on December 4 in Europe and North America.
While the KHYMERA project started out as an alliance between Italian producer/musician, Daniele Liverani and then KANSAS singer Steve Walsh, it actually developed into a regular musical project when Pink Cream 69/Unisonic bassist and producer Dennis Ward came into the picture.
While known as a bass player, Dennis always sings background vocals with his bands, so it was quite interesting for many fans to hear his voice taking the lead on the Khymera albums “A New Promise” and “The Greatest Wonder”. While the project went on hiatus for some time, it was a natural choice now for Dennis to grab the reins and take complete control (both on the songwriting – together with Paul Logue and Michael Klein - and on the production side) of the new album, “The Grand Design”, which comes 7 years after the release of “The Greatest Wonder”.
“Everything changed this time!” says Dennis Ward. “First of all there were no songs written by outside writers, just the people involved in the recordings and Paul. I wrote all the melodies and lyrics this time, something I had not done on the previous KHYMERA albums, but regardless it was a very comfortable working situation.”
The band is also totally “new”. Other than Ward, no other old members performed on the album. “I was on tour playing with Unisonic in Europe and Japan” tells Dennis, “we had a double headlining bill with Edguy and I was really impressed by Felix Bohnke’s drumming. He’s a fan of AOR and was more than happy to participate to the new KHYMERA album, which was great because his style fits so well. Whilst collaborating on one song with Paul Logue (EDEN’S CURSE), he came up with an idea to have a certain type of choir in the song which he worked out with Pete Newdeck. I was so impressed by the choirs Pete made and how they fit to my voice that I asked him to be Khymera’s “backing vocalist”. His choir ideas greatly impacted the entire outcome of the album.
“A couple songs ideas that Paul Logue presented had beautiful pianos in them,” continues Dennis. “I too had a piano song and asked Paul who played his piano parts in. He told me of Jim Rykbost, whom I’ve never worked with. Jim is a down to earth Piano player, not just a keyboarder. With all due respect to many pop/rock keyboarders the true art of playing the Piano seems to get lost these days. Jim had the feel and the mood I was looking for and took the songs to another level. Since I also needed keys I quickly got into contact with Eric Ragno, someone I’ve worked with in the past and has so much experience and class in AOR. I love his modern approach to building AOR keyboard parts.”
Musically, the new album very much follows along the logical progression of the musical path that was started a few years ago. “The Grand Design” is a strong, extremely melodic release, which showcases the fantastic vocal abilities of Dennis and highlights his great skills as a songwriter and producer.
“The Grand Design” truly offers one of the most shining examples of what great European Melodic Rock is all about: crystal clear production, soaring vocals, killer musicianship and songwriting that reminds fans of the heydays of the genre when bands like Giuffria, Icon, and Signal ruled the airwaves.
“The Grand Design” tracklisting includes: Never Give Up On You; Tell Me Something; Say What You Want; I Believe; A Night To Remember; She’s Got The Love; Land Of Golden Dreams; The Grand Design; Streetlights; Who’s Fooling Who; Finally; Where Is The Love.

FIND ME 'Dark Angel' - the sophomore album from the Trans-Atlantic duo featuring Robbie LaBlanc and Daniel Flores
Out in December on Frontiers
Frontiers Music Srl is pleased to announce the release of FIND ME's new album, entitled “Dark Angel”, on December 4th in Europe and North America.
FIND ME is a collaboration between Swedish musician, songwriter and producer Daniel Flores (Issa, The Murder of My Sweet, Seventh Wonder) and singer Robbie LaBlanc from Blanc Faces. The partnership was put together by Frontiers President, Serafino Perugino with a vision to unleash another AOR behemoth. FIND ME’s debut album, “Wings of Love” received excellent reviews and left fans begging for more music from the duo! No demands could have been easier to fulfill as the two guys just love working together and finding the right songs for the group from contributors the likes of Alessandro Del Vecchio, Mark Mangold, brothers Tom and James Martin (Vega, Issa), Soren Kronqvist (Sunstorm), Niclas Olsson (Alyson Avenue) or Philip Lindstrand (Strong) is never a problem.
“Serafino of Frontiers and I searched for new songs and fresh ideas from writers from all over the world” tells drummer and producer Daniel Flores. “I personally was searching for a musical challenge and Serafino with his golden ears is always looking for the next big song. It’s the combination of the two mentalities, with Robbie’s ability to sing and work on melodies that made this album what it is.” According to Robbie LaBlanc: “Daniel really understands how to create an awesome AOR record. He allows me some flexibility in the melodies and is a pleasure to work with and a true pro.”
The result is once again a delightful and massive melodic rock record, chock full of mighty anthemic AOR songs with Robbie’s soaring lead vocals and amazing performances from Daniel Flores and guitarist Philip Lindstrand! Sonically, this powerhouse album sits in between the classic sound of Journey and Giant and newcomers like W.E.T and Eclipse. “To be honest, in the first album, all involved tried to find the right combination of all the elements we love in AOR music” adds Daniel. “Now we feel more confident on what people will like. Productionwise everything just came naturally in place in this recording. Also Robbie sings even better than on last record and that's no small accomplishment really.”
“I feel I connected with these songs really nicely” adds Robbie. “It's funny of all the demos I received from Daniel I think we only changed one key. It's like they were written right for me!”
“I hope we get to give the AOR fans the same feelings they got when they discovered this music for the first time,” concludes Daniel, “We try to remind people of how the old records where done in this style, with the same mentality and complete devotion but with the cutting edge sound and quality engineering that technology has brought to date. Also, we hope to have chances to play for the fans live next year.”
“Dark Angel” is just another unmissable album for the AOR crowd from Frontiers. Enjoy the album trailer here:
“Dark Angel” tracklisting includes: Nowhere To Hide; Let Love Rule; Forever; Another Day; Dark Angel; Bleed In The Rain; Face To Face; Where Do I Go; Midnight Memories; Don't Slip Away From Me; Did You Feel Any Love; I'm Free.

San Diego-based metallists CAGE are set to return on October 30th, with the release of their latest metallic tour de force, 'Ancient Evil,' which has been prefaced by a lyric video for the killer composition, "The Procedure".
"We really love how creepy the video came out, it's like a mini movie almost," explains singer Sean "The Hell Destroyer" Peck. "This song will give people a good idea of what they are in for on this massive, heavy metal, horror story thrill ride!" Rounding out the band are Dave "Conan" Garcia (guitars), Casey "The Sentinel" Trask (guitars), Alex "The Captain" Pickard (bass guitar), and Sean "The Thrash Machine" Elg (drums).
Based on a horror novel written by lead singer Sean Peck, 'Ancient Evil' continues the legacy of Cage as a heavy metal innovator. This nearly 80-minute monstrosity has 19 tracks that combine songs and narrated interludes to forge a unique musical journey that rocks!
However, according to Sean, making a concept record work is never an easy task - "With this being our 7th release, we wanted to try our hand at another concept album. We had great success with 'Hell Destroyer,' but doing a scary story type of thing and making the songs catchy and memorable while keeping the listener captivated by the content, is a real challenge."
The story's main character, Elliot Worthington, is played by none other than ex-Iron Maiden frontman Blaze Bayley. "I did not want to do any of the character voices this time, so we got some really great talent to act out the scenes. Blaze did an incredible job. His acting chops were freaking great, I have to say," says Peck. "The writing for this record came together effortlessly even though it was a concept record. It is pretty much just blazing fast the whole way through which is just how I like it!"
And soon, metalheads will be able to experience Cage's latest metal masterpiece.
The Metal Voice (https://www.facebook.com/themetalvoice) was at this years Cathouse Live Festival celebrating 80's Hair Metal. Neil Turbin (Deathriders Ex Anthrax) reporting, caught up with the former host of the Headbangers ball and organizer of the festival Riki Rachtman. Turbin also spoke to 1980’s hair metal bands Autograph, Enuff Z Nuff and drum wiz Bobby Jarzombek from the Sebastian Bach band (Halford, and Fates Warning).
The Cathouse was a famous Rock club in Hollywood in the 1980’s managed and owned by Riki Rachtman where many famous bands like Guns and Roses, Motley Crue etc..broke ground. It was the cool place to be, now turned into a festival.
On why Riki Rachtman decided to put on the Cathouse Festival “When I set this thing up I just wanted everyone to have fun and everyone is having fun.”
On plans to branch out and do more Cathouse festivals “Everybody is asking me. LiveNation is already saying they want to do one next year, Next year is the 30 year anniversary of the Cathouse so I am not really sure what I got planned but I’m gonna do something fun.”
Asked if Riki Rachtman has ever tried to bring back Headbangers Ball “It’s not gonna happen. I tried, I told them I would do it for free, they never even returned my calls.”
On Autograph’s new album and tour “We have been touring for a year and a half. We have recorded two new songs and just recorded two more. We did a live recordings for ‘Turn up the Radio’. We are going to have an E.P. with the four new songs and ‘Turn up the radio’.” Steve Lynch
Asking Chip Z Nuff on his Cathouse memories “I remember Guns and Roses sets, Jet boy I might have played there a couple of times. No Big stories just a great rock club that bands would frequent, eventually a few of them made it.”
Asking Bobby Zarombek on the status of the new Sebastian Bach album and Fates Warning new records “Sebastian is now starting to work on another record and the label wants him to put something out pretty quick. He’s excited about it. He just mentioned it today. Like come in with your ideas, giving us the go ahead to come up with some cool shit. I have a couple of personal ideas that might work for him and I know everybody in the band does”
‘We are working on a new record (Fates Warning), it’s going to be in 2016 and it’s going to be really cool. All the material is written.”
LIVE REPORT:
By Gerry Gittelson
Melodicrock.com Los Angeles correspondent
LOS ANGELES -- The American brand of classic glam band Sweet, featuring original bassist Steve Priest, plays just a handful of concerts per year, so it's a rare treat to catch 'em, especially in adopted hometown Los Angeles.
The group with a penchant for ultra-catchy songs performed on before a near-capacity crowd at the Canyon Club, and the performance was a rousing success.
Opening with a nice-and-loud rendition of "Action," Sweet stuck mostly to the hits, and that meant a whopping total of six selections from the band's iconic album "Desolation Boulevard," including "Fox on The Run" and "Ballroom Blitz," the two crowning jewels of the evening.
Singer Joe Retta was terrific. His vocals are about as close to the late Brian Connolly as you're going to get, and wow was the curly-haired American spot-on with "Love Is Like Oxygen" and "Sweet FA." Since joining seven years ago, Retta continues to gain confidence and charmisa, and he now has more panache than before.
Guitarist Mitch Perry joined just recently, replacing Stuart Smith (who has opted to focus only on his band Heaven & Earth), and Perry proved spectacular. He looks, he sounds great, and he's got the perfect rock and roll attitude that screams rockstar.
You've got to have Priest, of course, who will be 68 in February, and the stocky bassist still has a cool vibe in addition to playing well and also offering ocassional lead vocals.
And then there is drummer Richie Onori, among the best in the world. He was bashing for all he was worth on "Set Me Free," followed by "Blockbuster," and the crowd was going crazy.
Keyboardist Stevie Stewart was barefooted and wore a kilt -- which was a little weird -- and in case no would noticed, he continually pranced around the stage.
In all, an extraordinarily successful night for the kings of glam rock. May Sweet live on forever.
Famed bassist RUDY SARZO joins Mitch on Episode 151 of One On One With Mitch Lafon. He discusses his new bands Devil City Angels & Gunzo, working with Ronnie James Dio, Ozzy Osbourne, Geoff Tate, the great lost gem (band and album) Manic Eden, Randy Rhoads, Animetal USA, Quiet Riot and why he's not currently in the band, and much more.
Speaking of Frankie Banali & Quiet Riot: "I am a huge supporter of what he's doing. I'm so glad that he is carrying the legacy of the band. I'm so happy for Frankie and Quiet Riot's legacy."
Mental Health: "Throughout music history, you have some pivot points. Ours was MTV. With Cum On Feel The Noize we were on every half hour. That really really made the difference. It came out in March and by November we had hit #1 on the Billboard charts."
Geoff Tate's Queensrÿche: "Geoff really needs to have his vision realized (he's an incredible artist). He has this idea in his head - this is what the record is going to sound like. This is what the music is going to be like. I felt that I didn't have that much room myself for any creative participation (which is fine), but I felt that I had done as much as I can under the circumstances."

Presented by SpectiCast and Tempest Films, “Forever And A Day” captures the history of one of the most influential bands in music history – following them for 18 months with an insightful look into the dynamic that has kept them at the top of the metal community. Filmmaker Katja von Garnier accompanied the Scorpions on their ‘Final Sting’ dates - originally the band’s farewell tour around the globe, from Bangkok via Los Angeles to Moscow, the resulting documentary “Forever and a Day” is a moving portrait of their unique history, packed with candid moments and Scorpions’ memories, culminating with the decision to scrap their retirement plans. Klaus Meine adds, “I think it'll be a really special film for our fans."
The title, “Forever And A Day,” outlines the philosophy Scorpions have internalized since their early days. In the Eighties of the past century, they wrapped it up in the slogan “Don‘t Stop At The Top” (allegorical: Never rest on your laurels). They simply are travelers, who always seek new challenges, overcoming all obstacles along the way.
Scorpions continue their global assault in support of their 19th studio album, Return to Forever (Sony Music/Legacy Recordings), just released September 11, with North American dates (see below). For additional info please visit www.The-Scorpions.com.
Founded in Hannover, West Germany in 1965, Scorpions were part of the first wave of metal in the 1970’s with their debut album, Lonesome Crow, released in 1972. The band rose to arena status with seminal releases Lovedrive, Virgin Killer and Animal Magnetism. In the 80s, Scorpions amassed a string of Billboard chart toppers from Love at Fiirst Sting and Blackout, including multiple Top 10 singles "Rock You Like a Hurricane" and "No One Like You," as well a string of successful singles such as "Send Me an Angel," "Still Loving You" and "Wind of Change." The band was also ranked #46 on VH1's Greatest Artists of Hard Rock and their hit "Rock You Like a Hurricane" also landed as #18 on VH1's list of the 100 Greatest Hard Rock Songs. Celebrated across the globe, the iconic rock act have sold more than 100 million albums worldwide, and have received multiple honors including World Music Award winners, a postage stamp in Brazil, their Star on Hollywood Rock Walk, Echo honors, most recently they were honored with the Lower Saxon State Award.
Scorpions Return to Forever 50th Anniversary Tour, featuring longtime members Klaus Meine, Rudolf Schenker and Matthias Jabs, alongside James Kottak (drums) and Paweł Mąciwoda (bass), kicked off in May 2015 with dates on four continents. For these milestone shows Scorpions have built a career-spanning setlist of their hits, anthems, ballads and vintage classics. In September 2015, Scorpions released their 19th studio album, Return To Forever, and embarked on the first leg of their North American tour featuring special guests Queensryche.

Def Leppard have finally broken their usual multi-year silence with a highly anticipated brand new single Pour Some Sugar On Me‘Let’s Go’.
In a nutshell, the slow-to-mid paced melodic rocker is cut straight from the Def Leppard classic hits songbook. Yes, it’s a little too close to that hit single that helped break the band wide open, but its only themselves they are ripping off, so no harm done!
The best aspect of the song is the attention to detail the production has. The band has ensured that all their classic elements are present – big guitars, layered harmonies and a hard hitting drum sound that’s straight off ‘Hysteria’.
The band has constantly been criticised by some as failing to meet the commercial style of ‘Pyromania’ and ‘Hysteria’, but this time they unashamedly clone one of their biggest hits for a 2015 anthem that should take fans back to when they were 18 again.
‘Promises’ is still my favourite post-80s single, and while this doesn’t quite reach the anthemic heights of that brilliant number, I do rate it very favourably. The only thing I’m left wishing for was a pick up in the pace (something that can be corrected by upping the tempo rate using YouTube’s tool).
As far as over-enthusiastic and passionate die-hard Def Leppard fans go, they are right up there with those that follow Bon Jovi or Journey with the same dedication. Sometimes it can get interesting…
So it’s no surprise to see comments running the whole range of emotions - from the best song in the history of history; to the worst single since Elvis decided to try his hand at doom metal.
I think you’ll find the majority of long time Leppard fans leaning into the positive and the more casual listener making up the vocal minority on the negative.
Me – I’ve always been a big fan of the band and this gives me cause to feel optimistic about the upcoming album.
It’s DEF LEPPARD overload as all the information regarding the band’s new album hits the street.

Def Leppard has announced this week that their long-awaited new studio album will be released on October 30, 2015. The debut single from the album is entitled “Let’s Go," a thunderous arena rock track, which premiered via Rolling Stone. Recorded earlier this year at front man Joe Elliott’s studio in Dublin, Ireland, the album will feature 14 tracks in total. This self-titled album release will mark their first new collection of material in seven years and Def Leppard’s 11th official studio release.
Said Joe Elliott, “This is our first new album in seven years and it came together very organically. We didn’t sit down to create an album but started writing together and suddenly had 14 songs. Although we recorded it over a period of a year while we were out touring, it really came together in 9 or 10 weeks. Naked was founded in early 2000 by Mats Stattin, and along with Peter he has been influenced by Rock bands of the 1980’s, in particular, Kiss, Along with Mats and Peter the line-up is completed by Tony Borg (Alien), Mikael Wikman Drums, and a well-respected Bass player Paul Logue (Eden’s Curse) as a special guest! This quartet have come up with an album chock full of surprises that will appeal to fans of Scandinavian Hard Rock such as Treat, Alien, and Skagarack.
Naked do have their own identity and this shines through on the 12 tunes on offer here. Razor sharp riffs, layered keyboards and soaring vocals are the order of the day, all backed with a solid rhythm section, the sort you would expect from musicians of this caliber. A melodic rock dream!
It’s really nice to see a new band rise up and inject a fresh slant on the melodic rock music scene; we think that you will warm to Naked in a very positive manner as they certainly have the ability to make their mark. This debut “End Game” is a great start to achieving their goal.
Multi-instrumentalist-composer Gary Schutt (Jeff Scott Soto) will release his 11th solo album on November 11th 2015!
A concept album, a rock opera, call it what you will - this is a movie for your ears! This IS Gary's "2112", "The Wall", "Operation:Mindcrime" and "Scenes From A Memory"...all written and performed by one guy! And with some of Gary's talented friends helping out singing and voice acting.
This is a two disc rock opera that has been about 23 years in the making! The song styles on this album are the best of what you've come to know from Schutt's writing, and then some! Hard rock, melodic rock, progressive metal and orchestral, mixed with sound effects and some dialog to give you a concept album experience like no other!

British AOR act BLOOD RED SAINTS to release debut album 'Speedway' -
out on Frontiers in December.
Frontiers Music Srl announces the upcoming release of new British AOR band BLOOD RED SAINTS. Their debut album, entitled “Speedway”, will be released on December 4th in Europe and North America.
BLOOD RED SAINTS is a new band formed in late 2014 by singer Pete Godfrey and bassist Rob Naylor. Pete made his recording debut on the October 2014 In Faith album, but hungry to be in a 'band' rather than a project, Pete formed BLOOD RED SAINTS with Rob from the band Angels or Kings and quickly got to work writing their debut album.
“I went in to the In Faith knowing it was a project,” says Pete Godfrey. “We were offered shows but we couldn't find any common ground to move forward. That was the moment where I decided I wanted to be in a 'real band', one that goes out and plays live and has that 'us against the world' mentality. Without doubt, we are going to play live. We have a launch show December the 4th in Bolton, UK then we are playing the JSY/ARFM charity show in Derby at the end of January and also HRH AOR in March - working on more shows right now!”
BLOOD RED SAINTS lineup was completed by another former In Faith member, Pete Newdeck (also from Eden’s Curse and currently the vocalist for Tainted Nation) on drums and Lee Revill on guitar (ex-Gary Hughes). “Pete and I quickly became good friends,” says Pete. “It was a simple choice on my part to want him involved. Rob Naylor I knew from the 1990's, but we became friends last year, we just gelled as far as wanting the same things musically, again. Lee Revill was talked about by everyone on the local scene, his reputation was that of a phenomenal guitar player who hadn't made the jump from local bands. He is our secret weapon, unbelievably talented and not precious or egotistical at all, a genuine nice guy also!”
The search for a name ended with the chance discovery of a semi legendary Speedway team, “The Blood Red Saints”. BRS were formed in the late 1920s in Brooklyn, New York. Their leader and icon, 'Freddie Rendetti' became synonymous with the team. Freddie was a fiery colorful character who ultimately lived the fast life a little too fast.
No history of the BLOOD RED SAINTS can be complete without the inclusion of James Martin of VEGA. James was instrumental in getting the band signed to Frontiers and – together with his twin brother Tom, he also co-wrote two songs on the album. Harry Hess from Harem Scarem took care of the mastering of the album.
The band’s debut album is an impressive slice of classic British AOR, following in the traditions of early Dare, FM and Newman, though according to Pete, “if you were to take elements of Bon Jovi, Def Leppard, Winger, FM, mix them all together, I think that is pretty much where we are. Our intention was to have great songs and next we want to take them out live and put on a great show!”
“Speedway” is a classic in the making and BLOOD RED SAINTS are a band to watch out for!

FEATURING BILLY SHEEHAN, EARL SLICK , PHIL KEAGGY AND MORE!
Love and Scars is the long awaited sophomore release from legendary King’s X drummer Jerry Gaskill and is by far his best work to date! Featuring Billy Sheehan, Phil Keaggy, Earl Slick, DA Karkos, Andee Blacksugar and a host of other notable musicians, Love and Scars marks the completion of a long musical journey that started almost a decade ago. Enduring a series of personal tragedies along the way, including two heart attacks, and losing all his possessions in Hurricane Sandy, Jerry remained steadfast and true in his belief that music heals all. “It’s been a long time coming and I’ve had some heavy obstacles to deal with, but the record is finally ready and I couldn’t be more proud of what we’ve accomplished!” says Jerry.
Love and Scars also spotlights Jerry’s vocal and songwriting talents as he passionately pours his heart out into each and every song, putting to music all of his triumphs and tragedies of the last decade. The lyrical content of this album is simply about everyday life the way I see it and I hope that people will be able to relate to it on some kind of personal level”, says Jerry. It quickly becomes evident within the first few seconds of this album that Jerry is highly influenced by his own band King’s X, as well as some of his earlier influences like TheBeatles, Led Zeppelin, Bob Dylan and Grand Funk Railroad. “Drummers don’t always get the opportunity to showcase their full songwriting capabilities, but Jerry raises the bar and delivers a very solid offering with Love and Scars”, says Rat Pak Records owner Joe O’Brien.
Jerry Gaskill Love and Scars features Billy Sheehan, Phil Keaggy, Earl Slick, DA Karkos, Andee Blacksugar, John "JD" DeServio, Bob Burger, David Parks, Matt Gray, Matt Farley, John Farley, Topher Nolen, Joey Gaskill and Virus. Official release date for Jerry Gaskill Love and Scars is Friday October 30, 2015. Pre-order now at: http://ratpakrecordsamerica.com/jerrygaskill
