“THE ANN WILSON THING” ADDITIONAL TOUR DATES ANNOUNCED
Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee Ann Wilson is set to release her first solo EP, The Ann Wilson Thing, on Rounder Records. Featured tracks on the EP include “Fool No More,” which was written by Wilson and described by her as “a heavy blues song about bad love and the fleeting of time” and “For What It’s Worth,” described by Wilson as “a melding of some timeless lyrics with meat, hair and teeth.” The Ann Wilson Thing will be released digitally on September 18 and in stores October 9.
Wilson previously announced her first solo mini tour kicking off September 21 in Solana Beach, CA. Additional dates include The Katherine Hepburn Cultural Arts Center on October 6 and a second show at City Winery in New York on October 7. Alison Krauss and Emmylou Harris with be sitting in with Wilson at her Nashville City Winery date on October 15 and Jon Batiste, the band leader of the Colbert show, will join Ann for a song at the New York City Winery show.
In addition, Wilson’s Hartford, CT show at the Kate Hepburn Theater will be filmed by Connecticut PBS as part of their new “Kate Hepburn Series” and will air on PBS in February.
As a songwriter and lyricist, Ann Wilson has created a truly impressive body of work (“Crazy on You,” “Barracuda,” “Magic Man,” “Dog & Butterfly,” “Straight On”, “Even it Up,” “Mistral Wind,” and many, many more). However, her greatest gift, and first “calling” is singing and with this intimate tour, she prepares to blow away her fans with up, close and personal, raw performances of blues and rock songs. The Ann Wilson Thing won’t replace Heart but it will be a new experience for existing Heart fans, as well as for new fans who will love these songs.
On October 16 2015, Eagle Rock Entertainment will issue the simultaneous release of Nazareth’sNo Means Of Escape on DVD and Blu-ray [MSRP $19.98 Blu-ray, $14.98 DVD].
No Means Of Escape combines two films: a live set and a documentary. Live At Metropolis wasfilmed before a select audience at London’s famous Metropolis Studios. The documentary Made In Scotland tells the full story of Nazareth’s remarkable career from their formation in 1968, to their breakthrough in the 1970s and their ongoing career in the present day. Celebrating the band’s history, the cover art on No Means Of Escape features a new version of the classic character created for Nazareth’s 1979 album No Mean City by fantasy artist Rodney Matthews. Digitally, this material will be made available as two separate elements: Live At Metropolisand Made In Scotland
The concert itself features hit tracks and album favorites including “Love Hurts,” “Hair Of The Dog,” “Razamanaz,” “May The Sun Shine,” “Bad Bad Boy,” “This Flight Tonight,” “Expect No Mercy,” and many more! The documentary contains classic footage and new interviews with past and present members of the band including now retired lead singer Dan McCafferty.
In addition to the concert film and documentary, No Means Of Escape includes an acoustic session track “This Flight Tonight,” and additional interviews with Dan McCafferty and Pete Agnew as bonus features.
Between the incredible live set and the story of the band presented by the men themselves, No Means Of Escape is a double-dose of Nazareth that fans won’t want to miss.
DEF LEPPARD have announced the track listing for their upcoming self-titled album due out next month. What date in October is not yet revealed, but according to the band - the news might come as soon as tomorrow. Right now it looks like arriving October 30.
There’s nothing better than supporting new band – even if the band in question has been around for 25 years. Is this the longest time period between forming and a debut album being released?
For those familiar with these rockers from Melbourne, Australia, the wait has been worth it!
MelodicRock Records is really excited to have SERPENTINE SKY join the label roster, with their self-titled debut album due for release October 30.
Owner of MRR, Andrew McNeice recalls owning a relic of the band’s early days. “When Zakk sent me their album to check out, I only needed seconds to realize the anthemic lead track Whole Lotta Love has been a part of my collection in the form of a 2 track promo-cassette from the early 90s. I had always loved that song and wanted to hear more. Better late than never! This is a classic melodic rock album with a strong dose of Aussie attitude and a very slick, energetic production.”
“Serpentine Sky” will be released in a 10 track regular edition as well as a limited Special Edition which will contain several bonus tracks which will be announced soon.
Right now I can’t wait to present one of the great tracks off this album. But which one?
How about something different? How about the closing track?
That’s right – this album is so consistently good, we can go right to the end to present a highlight from the set. Don’t you love albums that close out with that absolute killer song that once finished makes you just want to hit play and start over again?
With that in mind, please check out SERPENTINE SKY and “Midnight”:

Reports are streaming in that former REO Speedwagon guitarist GARY RICHRATH has died overnight.
Condolences have been posted online by his solo band mates - including singer TOMMY EDWARDS and his drummer TIM FIERS, who confirmed the passing, having spoken to Gary's wife earlier today.
RIP Gary - as always, the world is a better place for your contributions to it and the music world suffers a great loss at your passing.
Kevin Cronin has now posted on behalf or REO:
Hi friends, kc here. My longtime friend and collaborator Gary Richrath passed away earlier today. I feel so sad. Gary was both a unique guitarist and songwriter, and the embodiment of the tough guy with a heart of gold. I learned most of what I know about being in a rock band from Gary Richrath. The entire REO Family mourns his death and shares in the grief of his family, friends, and fans. These words do not come close to expressing the depth of emotions I am feeling at this time...kc
PS. This photo has been on my music room table for as long as I can remember, and will stay there.

STREET TALK is the brainchild of Swedish keyboardist/songwriter FREDRIK BERGH. Their debut came in 1997 with the album ‘Collaboration’.
The album featured, amongst others, guest vocalist Göran Edman who would continue to work with Fredrik throughout the Street Talk history.
In 2000, the album ‘Transition’ was released featuring Goran again on a set of smooth Westcoast/AOR tunes.
In 2002 STREET TALK signed to the now defunct MTM Music label for the excellent album 'Restoration'. The opus featured vocals from Goran once again and also two popular tracks from American AOR vocalist HUGO.
In 2006 the band released their fourth all-original studio album – the distinctly more powerful, pure AOR masterpiece ‘V’. Featuring Goran Edman on all vocals, the album was the defining moment of Street Talk’s history.
Since the release of ‘V’ in 2006, STREET TALK has been on hiatus, but Fredrik has been as busy as ever as a founding member of melodic metal band Bloodbound as well as writing and working with such artists as Revolution Saints, Steve Augeri, Steve Overland, Joe Lynn Turner, Rob Moratti, Harry Hess, Bob Halligan jr, Phenomena, Seven and Anette Olzon
Further details of the reissues will be available soon, but in the meantime, please enjoy one song from each of the albums:

From ‘Restoration’ – Why Is My Heart Feeling Lonely Tonight

CONEY HATCH 'FRICTION' CANDY272
TORONTO BASED Coney Hatch were one of Canada's brightest hopes during the mid eighties. They impressed fans and critics alike with their rambunctious brand of melodic hard rock, a sound imbued with a certain, some might say typically Canadian, quirkiness. Catchy, for sure, but also containing twists and turns that suggested the band had been students of a number of hard rockin' maple leaf acts from April Wine to the riff hungry swagger of Triumph and all points in between.
'Friction' was the band's third and, as it turned out, their final album. It was a record designed to infiltrate the mass market, with catchy hooks and a selection of punishing riffs. Issued in 1985 and crafted by renowned British producer Max Norman (Ozzy Osbourne, Y&T, Lynch Mob) the record was received with great critical enthusiasm, but hit a brick wall at their record company. With Def Leppard and Bon Jovi receiving major promotional pushes, Coney Hatch were sidelined and left, without the financial budget, to fight their own corner.
It was a crushing disappointment, leaving the band in a state of confusion and, ultimately, unable to carry on. Their legacy, however, continues to grow, with many citing 'Friction' as their finest and, possibly, one of the best albums released that year. Revisit the likes of 'This Ain't Love', 'Fantasy' and 'Burning Love' for proof positive that this record delivered on all fronts.
SPECIAL DELUXE COLLECTOR'S EDITION, FULLY REMASTERED SOUND, 1 BONUS TRACK, 16 PAGE FULL COLOUR BOOKLET, NEW INTERVIEWS, 3,500 WORD ESSAY, ENHANCED ARTWORK AND RARE PHOTOS.
TRACK LISTING: 1. THIS AIN'T LOVE 2. SHE'S GONE 3. WRONG SIDE OF TOWN 4. GIRL FROM LAST NIGHT'S DREAM 5. COMING TO GET YOU 6. FANTASY 7. HE'S A CHAMPION 8. STATE LINE 9. BURNING LOVE. BONUS TRACK: 10. FUEL FOR THE FIRE
RATT 'INVASION OF YOUR PRIVACY' CANDY281
THERE'S NO DOUBT that the mid eighties were pretty much ruled by an exciting clique of Los Angeles based hard rock bands. Everyone from M'tley Cr'e, Great White, Dokken and Quiet Riot were breaking records in one way or another, but it was five piece RATT who really condensed all that was truly exciting about the scene when their debut album 'Out Of The Cellar' exploded at MTV, radio and retail, giving them a double platinum album and a reputation second to none.
Touring non-stop, the band were quickly ushered back into the studio ' via a Hawaii song writing retreat - for their follow up album, the equally impressive 'Invasion Of Your Privacy'. Produced by Beau Hill, who masterminded their previous record, the music kept to the same ingredients, finding the band further exploiting their penchant for snappy melodies, heavy duty riffs and super catchy hooks. If there was any fatigue to be encountered then no trace could be found here, with the music retaining a polished and professional sheen that spelt instant appeal.
Tracks such as 'You're In Love', 'Lay It Down' and 'What You Give Is What You Get' became instant RATT classics bouncing out of the grooves and right into the public's heart. It was this album that truly elevated RATT to arena headline status in the US whilst helping to spread the message further afield in Europe and Japan. A solid gold classic.
Special Deluxe Collector's Edition, fully remastered Audio,16 page full colour booklet, 3,500 word essay, enhanced artwork, rare photos and new interviews.
TRACK LISTING: 1. YOU'RE IN LOVE 2. NEVER USE LOVE 3. LAY IT DOWN 4. GIVE IT ALL 5. CLOSER TO MY HEART 6. BETWEEN THE EYES 7. WHAT YOU GIVE IS WHAT YOU GET 8. GOT ME ON THE LINE 9. YOU SHOULD KNOW BY NOW 10. DANGEROUS BUT WORTH THE RISK
RATT 'REACH FOR THE SKY' CANDY282
RATT'S RISE TO fame and presumably fortune was meteoric. Kicking around Southern California in various forms since the mid 70's, the band fully gelled in 1981, with the independent release of a well received debut mini album, which quickly led to a coveted recording contract with label giant Atlantic Records. Their debut album 'Out Of The Cellar' exploded out of the box ultimately reaching sales in excess of double platinum.
It was a level of success that few had predicted, elevating the band to MTV regulars and selling out arena tours. But it was a level of achievement that was not increasing as further records saw the band maintaining rather than expanding their profile. By the time of this album (their fourth) interest was still high, but the stellar achievements of the past were becoming a fast fading memory.
'Reach For The Sky', originally released in late 1988 and produced in the main by Mike Stone (Journey, Queen and Whitesnake), found the band in familiar musical territory, a style based on big hooks, shout-it-out-loud vocals and razor sharp riffs. It was the sound of the times alright, and although performing well (attaining Platinum status) the band were feeling the strain of their work load. In fact it was the final album to feature guitarist Robbin Crosby who would leave due to much publicised personal problems.
Special Deluxe Collector's Edition, fully remastered Audio,16 page full colour booklet, 3,500 word essay, enhanced artwork, rare photos and new interviews.
TRACK LISTING: 1. CITY TO CITY 2. I WANT A WOMAN 3. WAY COOL JR. 4. DON'T BITE THE HAND THAT FEEDS 5. I WANT TO LOVE YOU TONIGHT 6. CHAIN REACTION 7. NO SURPRISE 8. BOTTOM LINE 9. WHAT'S IT GONNA BE 10. WHAT I'M AFTER
Killer news melodic rock fans - TREAT are 100% back in the studio to record a brand new studio album due in 2016.
Here's what I'm told is definite: "The band just started recording new songs for a 2016 release. They are 5 songs down already and are looking for another 5-6 tunes to be finished and tracked sometime this fall..." And this little nugget: "You just gonna love this new stuff, that much I can tell ya!"

ERIC MARTIN will release a new live CD/DVD set 'Live Over Japan' in Japan November 4. The 2CD and 1DVD set features Eric's solo concert held on July 14, 2015 at Akasaka Blitz. This edition features digibook packaging with a live photo book.
When asked about the release, Eric gave me this exclusive quote: “I played a 7 night acoustic tour in Japan a month ago. And one the shows at the Akasaka blitz (like a theatre/ night club ) in Tokyo was recorded and filmed. They also filmed a road documentary with interviews and filmed pieces of the other shows. Pat Torpey played percussion/vocals and my mate John McNamara from Australia (Clunes) on guitar/vocals.”
Among the things informing the songs of Blackmore's Night are sagas and symbolism. In the case of the supernatural 'Will O' The Wisp,' the rock-based song continues the band's vision involving what singer and lyricist Candice Night describes as 'nature and folklore from around the world.' 'Will O' The Wisp' is from the group's tenth album All Our Yesterdays now, offering us a mystical experience.
Spotlighted in the video and the lyrics are lights (the will o' the wisps), an ancient rock, castle ruins, a forest, as well as the crescent moon. There is also a path. Candice saw that path as part of the 'Will O' The Wisp''s folklore as she watched the Disney/Pixar film Brave with her two children. She was entranced by an early scene in which the heroine, Princess Merida is led through the woods to a cottage by a will o' the wisp, a light that floats over swamps and moors. 'The visual was amazing,' she says. Beyond that, the soundtrack of Ritchie's music spoke to her to blend his music and her lyrics into this enchanting song.
The video enhances the lyrics' ancient feel. In stark black and white, the only color element is the title character, a small, light blue will o' the wisp that leads Night through ruins and moors and wide open spaces that the Celts would have approved of. The wisps were symbolic and mysterious lights that led her through ancient stone circles to a destination that would ultimately change her fate.
With concepts for this epic video running back and forth for weeks, Blackmore's Night admits they took 'forever' to finish it, and at the end of the entire production, Candice, Ritchie and the band, pretty much, used symbolism of the path of a the light meeting a second light'two Will O' The Wisps.
Candice is adamant about one thing, though. 'The concept,' she insists, 'is in the lyrics.'
Fans can also watch Blackmore's Night's first music video (and single), the title song from the upcoming ALL OUR YESTERDAYS' album, at www.youtube.com/watch?v=G8gCGcSlRuw.

Blackmore's Night is a true musical and spiritual collaboration between vocalist/multi-instrumentalist Candice Night and her husband, legendary guitarist Ritchie Blackmore. The two met in 1989 when Deep Purple challenged Candice's then radio station to a charity soccer match. In 1993 she sang on Rainbow's DIFFICULT TO CURE tour. They co-wrote four songs for Rainbow's STRANGER IN US ALL and in 1997 they formed Blackmore's Night; they continue to play festivals and concerts in great, historic venues all over the world.

Quotes from the interview:
On the band's rate of releasing new albums: "When you think you think of 15 years and three records; certainly that is not a rapid pace by any standard."
On Anthrax not playing his era songs live: "I get it coming from Joey Belladonna's place. I mean, why would he? There are a couple of songs I wish they would play, but I understand why they don't. I don't think it makes me sad, but I do think that we made some really cool records."
Frank talks about the new Anthrax album making it to the mixing stage, his recent car accident, having Fire In The Belly, their upcoming tours with Motörhead and later this year with Slayer, the John Bush era of the band and much more.

Champlin says: "I’ve been involved with a project that includes me, Peter Friestedt a great guitarist and producer from Sweden, and Joseph Williams, the singer of TOTO! In the post era of the FM dominated airwaves comes a new generation of classic rock, RADIO EXILE.
On rare occasions, some magical-artistic vibe goes out calling up a unique set of musicians to create groundbreaking music. When truly great musicians come together, the resulting brotherhood/sisterhood embraces their diversity, enabling them to collaborate so as to push through otherwise insurmountable boundaries. Collaboratively, they each pour the very best of what makes them cutting edge individually, into one dynamic presentation. For the rest of us, we are compelled to listen over and over.
When Charlie Calv decided to send out the vibe, he probably didn’t anticipate collective perfection, but that is what he got. When Charlie and Chandler Mogel wrote the music and lyrics for these songs, they could not have anticipated the individual masterpiece each would become. But that is what they got. Take two brilliant writers and musicians, collaborating with some of the best individual players in the world and you understand why this music is so strong. RADIO EXILE is one of the very best hard rock projects to come along in many years.
Individually, the musicians that come together to form RE, perform on stage or in the studio with the greatest artists of our time. This list includes Paul McCartney, Bob Dylan, Hall and Oates, Allison Krauss, Billy Idol, John Waite, members of Pink Floyd, Styx, Journey, Van Halen, the Rolling Stones, and Black Sabbath. This talent pool has been tapped, used, and appreciated over the years. Now, together as one, five brilliantly successful, creative worlds collide in a panoramic musical explosion.
The lineup is notable with Charlie on keyboards and Chandler on lead vocals. Jimmy Leahey contributes his soulful guitar playing, and all are constructed on the rhythm foundations crafted by bassist Kenny Aaronson and percussion specialist Dave Anthony. Their impressive resumes list their many accomplishments, but only hint at what RE truly represents. What makes this project so epic is that these five distinguished artists draw us in to experience their passion and love for music right along with them. From the hard-hitting, bombastic percussion of “High Road, High Price,” to the gospel infused “A Cross on Stone” - featuring the voices of Jessie Wagner (Kid Rock and Lenny Kravitz), Joe Cerisano (TSO and Silver Condor) and Amy Harnell (Tony Harnell and The Mercury Train) - these tracks are sure to stand the test of time.
Enlisting Grammy-nominated engineer/producer Steve DeAcutis (Vanilla Fudge, Cyndi Lauper, Corey Glover, etc) and veteran producer/A&R man Steve Lunt (Britney Spears, ‘NSync , Joan Jett ,etc), the latter who first honed his skills alongside the legendary Mutt Lange as vocalist of the chart topping British band City Boy, the guys checked into the SPA (Sound Spa Recording) and an immediate synergy took hold. The finishing touches were then added by top mastering engineer Alan Douches (Fleetwood Mac, Yes, Train, Pete Townsend, etc.) at his West West Side Music facility.
Reuniting some old friends, and making some new, RADIO EXILE is a fantastic blend of hard rock that will not disappoint the existing fans of any of these musicians. In fact, RADIO EXILE is sure to gain a new generation of fans who will be hungry for more. When the sure hand of destiny channels the melodic heart, we celebrate the creation. RADIO EXILE is exactly that and more. Just listen.
Tracklist: 1. High Road, High Price, 2. Soulfire, 3. No Pity On The Highway, 4. Feels Like Home, 5. Higher Than The Sun, 6. Hang On, 7. Starting Over, 8. Down In A Hole, 9. A Cross On Stone, 10. Road To Exile
The "CARSTEN LIZARD SCHULZ SYNDICATE" signs with POWER PROG - Details of the upcoming album revealed!
POWER PROG is proud to annonce the signing of one of Germany's premier voices of rock, Carsten 'Lizard' Schulz. Now the common goal is the release of his first solo album "The Day The Earth Stopped Turning" under the flag of "Carsten Lizard Schulz Syndicate" at November 20, 2015 as Double CD, download card, digital download and stream, which was created with the participation of some really big names out of the current rock and metal scene.
Carsten 'Lizard' Schulz is certainly no stranger to the international Rock & Metal scene and he can look back on a more than 20 years lasting and successful career. As lead singer and formative element of well known acts like DOMAIN, EVIDENCE ONE, CODE OF PERFECTION and MIDNITE CLUB in the first decade of the 2000s, he has influenced the German hard rock scene like only a few other artists. His lead singing skills can be also enjoyed on more recent albums by DEAD END HEROES, LAVALLE, RIK PRIEM'S PRIME, FROZEN RAIN and many others and as a guest singer he can be heard on countless other releases. But Carsten is also a highly sought-after songwriter. You can listen the works out of his pen on albums by RUSSELL ALLEN / MAT SINNER, VENGEANCE, GARY JOHN BARDEN etc. ... A real musical workaholic since years!
A real labor of love is the realization of his first solo album "The Day The Earth Stopped Turning". A process that took many years to complete - on the one hand for reasons of time, to the other hand to present the best possible and identifiable result. As a die-hard fan of the good old 70s, Carsten's clear intention was to create an adult and classical hard rock album with the special old-school flair. Under the decisive participation of his congenial partner Steffen Seeger and with the help and support by dozens of well-known artists from the last four decades (such as Axel Rudi Pell, Mat Sinner, Neil Murray, Erik Norlander and lots of others), a classic rock album has emerged that seeks of his peers in the current world of music and which is much more than a tribute to the good old days. A man, his friends and their mission give us an over 80 minutes lasting listening pleasure which brings us back to the past and to greats like LED ZEPPELIN, DEEP PURPLE, RAINBOW, WHITESNAKE, URIAH HEEP, NAZARETH, KANSAS, MANFRED MANN ... But hey, definitely no reheated brew, this is how straight sophisticated classic hard rock should sound today!

NEW YES BASS PLAYER BILLY SHERWOOD TO RELEASE A CONCEPT ALBUM “CITIZEN”
FEATURING THE CREAM OF THE PROG ROCK SCENE
OUT ON FRONTIERS IN NOVEMBER
On November 6, 2015, Frontiers Music Srl will release Billy Sherwood's latest, a concept album called CITIZEN.
Billy Sherwood created this concept album based on a lost soul that is reincarnated into various periods of history. "I was inspired by the notion that General Patton believed he was reincarnated on various battlefields through time; I wanted to take that concept even further." As the songwriter/producer, Billy placed the citizen character into significant moments of history.
The lead off track is called “The Citizen" which sets the stage for what's to come on the recording. “The Citizen” features Billy's longtime friends and members of the legendary Progressive Rock band Yes: bassist Chris Squire and former Yes keyboardist Tony Kaye.
Each song places the Citizen into a unique set of circumstances where decisions are made that have serious personal and global consequences. In the song “No Man's Land" (featuring Deep Purple/Dixie Dregs/Kansas guitarist Steve Morse) the Citizen appears as a World War I trench runner who passes the message along to the troops that it's time to attack; the Citizen remains behind and is, ultimately, the only survivor. “Empire" (with lead vocals by Alan Parsons & violin from Jerry Goodman of the Flock, Dixie Dregs, Mahavishnu Orchestra) finds the Citizen as a conscript legionnaire in the final days of the Roman Empire. “Just Galileo and Me" (sung by Colin Moulding singer/bassist of XTC) shows the Citizen as a protective friend to Galileo, trying to tell the astronomer that he should not tell people that the earth is not flat or he will be labeled as a heretic.
Known as a multi-instrumentalist, Billy performs drums, bass, guitar, keys and sings several of the songs, including “A Theory of its Own” in which the Citizen appears as companion to Charles Darwin on the evolutionist’s maiden voyage. He sings of Native Americans affected by the Indian Removal Act of 1830 in the song, “Trail of Tears,” which features Patrick Moraz on keyboards. Former Genesis guitar player Steve Hackett adds his chops to “Man And The Machine,” which is about an assembly line worker and activist in the late 1890s. "Age Of The Atom” is about the creation of the Atomic Bomb and the questions of morality as a result of it; this features Geoff Downes on keyboards. Dream Theater keyboardist Jordan Rudess appears on “Escape Velocity,” a song that speaks to the political implications of the space race in the 1960s.
In “The Great Depression,” Billy's songwriter’s pen draws pain from the heart of a distraught Wall Street investor, who has lost everything in the stock market, and steps out to make a final step off the ledge. Rick Wakeman plays grand piano and other keyboards on this one. Finally, in CITIZEN’s 11th song, “Written In The Centuries,” performed by current Yes singer Jon Davison, Nostradamus is the Citizen busily composing his many predictions.
Billy Sherwood was recently handpicked by Chris Squire to fill in for him on bass and vocals in Yes, before he left for cancer treatment and ultimately, his untimely death. Billy started his career in the band Lodgic and then as a member of World Trade, who have two critically-acclaimed albums. He has produced and engineered for many artists including John Wetton, Motorhead, Queensryche, Paul Rodgers, and Yes.
He joined Yes first as touring member on the “Talk” tour in 1994, and was a full time member from 1997 to 1999. He recorded two albums with Chris Squire as the “Conspiracy” project and released six albums with Circa, the band he formed with Tony Kaye.
CITIZEN is Billy’s eighth album of new material, though he sees this as a group effort, "While I've created a lot of this record myself I couldn't have done it without the amazing talents brought to bear by all the great artists who participated. So I feel it's much more of a collective effort than a solo album. It's my desire to take this production onto the stage and some of these amazing artists can help bring this concept to life.”
CITIZEN tracklisting: The Citizen; Man And The Machine; Just Galileo And Me; No Man’s Land; The Great Depression; Empire; Age Of The Atom; Trail Of Tears; Escape Velocity; A Theory All It's Own; Written In The Centuries
Survivor’s Jim Peterik:“It has nothing to do with what I believe. There’s a protocol when you use a song...”
Survivor’s Jim Peterik joins Bill and Wendy to discuss how Kentucky County clerk Kim Davis used ‘Eye of the Tiger’ in her rally, and how he is standing against it.
It is with great sadness that we have to relay the tragic news regarding the passing of Steve Carroll, former guitarist with Praying Mantis (latter Little Bo Bitch) whose tasteful licks, melodic tones and fine voice graced the highly acclaimed album, ‘TIME TELLS NO LIES’. This statement was released by his sister Amanda Gilby:
“My brother Steve Carroll Sadly died on the 2nd of August 2015 after a long battle with ill health.he enjoyed life and partied hard sadly just a little too hard and it took its toll. He had lots of good stories to tell of good times playing in the band and will be sadly missed by all his family and friends x”
Time indeed tells no lies Steve and your legacy will continue to live through your tremendous contribution to the band. Thank you for everything. Our hearts go out to your family, friends and fans and may you Rest In Peace

"The Rat wants to send out a hearty congrats to our local guitar hero Matt O'Ree. Matt has been signed on as the new guitar player for Bon Jovi as they tour Europe and other far lands. Congrats Matt! You deserve it big time! Couldn't have happened to a nicer or more deserving guy. It helps that Matt can play his ass off!"
Good news for Matt.
News in says that Phil X remains a member and Matt is second guitarist, replacing touring member Bobby Bandiera.

Hollywood Vampires are Alice Cooper, Johnny Depp, Joe Perry
Featuring Perry Farrell, Dave Grohl, Sir Paul McCartney, Joe Walsh, Slash, Robbie Krieger, Zak Starkey, Brian Johnson and Kip Winger
Produced by Bob Ezrin
In 1972, on the Sunset Strip at a club called the Rainbow Bar & Grill, the Hollywood Vampires were born in the upstairs bar. It was a gathering place for the rock stars living in or passing through L.A. “To join the club, one simply had to out drink all of the members,” says Alice Cooper, a founding member of the Vampires. “I would walk in on a typical night” Alice says, “and John Lennon, Harry Nilsson, Keith Moon who would usually be in aa costume like a maid or a chauffeur Bernie Taupin, Jim Morrison and Mickey Dolenz would be there. The next week might be Bernie Taupin, Jimi Hendrix, Jim Morrison and Mickey Dolenz.”
Three years ago, Alice and good friend Johnny Depp got together and decided the spirit of the Hollywood Vampires should live again (minus the drinking). An environment for great artists to hang, laugh and play together. The Hollywood Vampires live again with the release of the Hollywood Vampires new album. Alice and Johnny were joined by Joe Perry, who is an old friend of both of them, and the recording began: a tribute to the original Hollywood Vampires.
For the next two years, Alice, Joe and Johnny, joined by producer Bob Ezrin and an amazing group of modern day vampires, including Perry Farrell, Dave Grohl, Sir Paul McCartney, Joe Walsh, Slash, Robbie Krieger, Zak Starkey, Brian Johnson and Kip Winger, recorded tracks by their dead friends and heroes. Also included are two original songs that tell the story of the Vampires, one of which, “Raise The Dead,” has an intro by Sir Christopher Lee, recorded just prior to his death.
The album package, an antique book, was created by noted men’s fashion designer (and rock fan) John Varvatos in his signature vintage style. Alice and Varvatos, both Detroit natives, have been partners in fashion for several years with Alice lending his classic rock style as a brand ambassador.
A sneak peek at the liner notes, penned by original Hollywood Vampire Bernie Taupin, “I’m not here to defend their vices. Over-indulgence of any sort does not ultimately constitute for a healthy mind and body. And while on the periphery of those involved, wives may have come and gone, career choices may have been deemed dubious, and heartbreak in some cases stalked a dark corridor, but in the lair of the Hollywood Vampires only joy and laughter reigned.”
“I’m not completely sure what constituted bad behavior back then, but in this lair it existed in a bubble, a hermetically sealed dome of fun. It may not have been the round table at the Algonquin, but these were witty, intelligent guys who often got raucous and loud, but rest assured there were no bystanders or animals hurt in the making of the Hollywood Vampires.”
