Chandler Mogel Announces RADIO EXILE Project Featuring Heavy Hitters to Release in October:
Chandler has just completed what may be his most ambitious CD to date, Radio Exile. Consisting of the all-star line-up of guitarist Jimmy Leahey (Dennis DeYoung, John Waite, Allison Krauss), legendary bassist Kenny Aaronson (Bob Dylan, Bill Idol, HSAS, ect.), drummer Dave Anthony (Dennis DeYoung, Glen Burtnik, Joan Osborne) and songwriting partner and keyboardist Charlie Calv (Shotgun Symphony, Bronx Casket Co.).
The CD will be released in October (details coming shortly) and was produced by Stephen DeAcutis (Vanilla Fudge, Corey Glover, Cyndi Lauper) and former City Boy vocalist and veteran A&R man Steve Lunt (Britney Spears, NSync, Jefferson Starship).
There are 10 tracks in total including the first single No Pity on the Highway, Higher Than The Sun and the epic A Cross On Stone featuring Joe Cerisano (Trans Siberian Orchestra, Silver Condor), Jessie Wagner (Lenny Kravitz, Kid Rock) and Amy Harnell (Tony Harnell and the Mercury Train). Miskatonic Graffiti comes in three sections. In the first section (Enter the Mountains) The Phantom returns to our four dimensional space, approximately 200 years ago. The touchdown takes place in a location later to be called The Mountains, a place where gates to other worlds may appear.
Here's where the majority of the stories on the album take place, and it's where The Phantom established The Miskatonic University to arm man with knowledge and wisdom before the dark times, that slowly but surely will come!
The Phantom is the sole returner of The Originals and got its name by the students who considered it 'the phantom of the university'. The modern contemporary human being who The Phantom meets along generations of preparation leaves deep impressions and new thoughts in its former imprisoned soul. Rather than just taking the roll as a teacher and commander, The Phantom in its mind transforms itself into the world's greatest rock star. Raised, reborn, released and furious with eons of hunger and revenge in his arsenal to prove it! Its golden colour is due to the atmospheric composition when it once walked the earth. Many would consider it a curse; to him it is a blessing. All hail the golden god!
In the second section we get inside the unbearable simplicity and mortality within the band around The Phantom, their dreams and everyday life in The Mountains. We meet the crabby couple Mat and Josie. He's the quarterback in university's football team; she's the knockout queen of the cheerleaders. Born and raised in The Mountains, misplaced and destined for better.
Sergeant of Doom, or rather sergeant at arms, is the right hand of The Phantom. He's a university dropout, a street car racer and a catcher in the rye with an unknown background.
We also encounter The Death Organ who holds guest lectures in the astrophysics of the body and Sister Sundown who only can be seen after dark. Two who walks in shadows is found in Eric the Viking and Mr. Roxiewicz who despite heavy missions elsewhere still march in The Armies of the Night.
In the third and last section (Exit the Mountains) we sense the euphoric feeling of victory, the feeling of resignation and the feeling of someone trapped in a corner attacking with nothing to lose.
Exit the Mountains is the revolution of the restless, where boredom becomes the perfect human weapon against creatures running on a different poison. Make it or break it, as long as it leads to something else, something better than here and now. If we go down, we go down fighting!

AOR Heaven’s upcoming September 25 release is from C.O.P, feat. 3 members of the amazing AOR band Grand Illusion.
Most great rock music can be boiled down into a three letter word, be it G ’N R, R’n’R, AOR or as in this case - C.O.P. From Sweden, arguably the best breeding ground of modern melodic rock, come this three piece of heralded and experienced AOR-sters, including one of the genre’s top singers, a guitar hero and producer extraordinaire and a song writing drummer.
Frontman Peter Sundell has graced a number of highly revered albums over the years. His work with Grand Illusion, Decoy and recently, Starlight Brigade, has made AOR fans all over the world drewl, in awe over his high pitched and powerful voice. As the singer of C.O.P he has finally taken the step forward as one of the true masters of melodic rock singing.
Peter’s younger brother Christian was also part of the Grand Illusion family and although he’s capable on most instruments, he has never revealed what an excellent songwriter he is. Until now, that is. It’s his songs and vision that marks the foundation of C.O.P, and it is his knack for writing instant, catchy, earworm worthy hooks that will surely make these boys a revelation to AOR fans all over the world.
The third and last part of the C.O.P equation consists of Peter and Christian’s long lost little brother Ola af Trampe, an extremely talented guitarist, producer and songwriter, also of Grand Illusion, Code and The Killbilly 5’ers fame. Without Ola, there would quite frankly be no C.O.P (and C.P would be a silly name for a band, wouldn’t it).

Martina’s producer and sound engineer, Tobias Lindell, has previously recorded, mixed, and produced bands such as Europe, Mustasch, and Hardcore Superstar at Bohus Sound.
Martina describes the material on 'Unity' as "uptempo rock," but several ballads help even things out.

For more than three decades, Nalle Påhlsson has been one of Sweden's leading rock bassists, providing reliable backing vocals along the way. September sees the release of Nalle Påhlsson's Royal Mess. An album where Nalle finally steps out as a lead singer, songwriter and versatile musician (providing rhythm guitars and keyboards, as well as bass).
Inspired by his oldest brother's record collection, Nalle started playing guitar at an early age. At 10, he joined his first band, switching to bass guitar the following year.
"Playing the bass reflects my personality. If I was a housebuilder I'd be into cement, working on the foundation. I feel just as at home playing the rhythm guitar, which has a similar role", Nalle smiles.
His early influences – Deep Purple, Kiss, The Sweet, Kansas – instilled the rock'n'roll dream, and the success of the band Europe proved that it was possible for Swedes his own age to make it.
Soon, Nalle was a sought-after bass player, touring and/or recording with some of Scandinavia's biggest names (Mikael Rickfors, Mats Ronander, Pugh Rogefeldt, Sanne Salomonsen, Easy Action and many others). He also formed what may have been Sweden's first tribute band, AB/CD. Not only did they play impeccable AC/DC covers; Nalle (who, being the rhythm guitarist, naturally called himself Nalcolm) also wrote new material in the style of the Australian rockers. AB/CD released one EP and two albums. The first album shifted 30,000 units, outselling some of Sweden's most hyped rock bands in the process.
Nalle continued to work as a freelance musician, as well as being a member of bands like Treat, Last Autumn's Dream, Vindictiv and Therion.
"I always tried to create bass lines that added something to the music, and made it more interesting and varied".
His efforts did not go unnoticed: in 2010, he was voted Bass Player of the Year on MelodicRock.com
But there was always a sense of unfinished business. He had his own album to make. And now it's finally here.
Royal Mess reflects a big part of Nalle's musical tastes. Crunchy riffs, high energy playing, and catchy melodies. Timeless and melodic hard rock/AOR, as opposed to metal. Elements of prog can be detected, too, but he has chosen to save most of that side for another time.
It would be hard to pick out specific highlights from such a strong collection of quality songs. Most of them convey a life-affirming feeling. Nalle has had his share of bad relationships and self-destructive behaviour. Four years sober, he has used his time well, playing sessions and touring the world as Therion's bass player, while making this album.
"I have spent a lot of time being drunk or hungover in my day. The drinking increased around 2008, and one day I had just had enough. I realized that not only did I hurt myself, but also the ones I care about the most: my kids, my mother, my brothers and my friends. I decided to look for help. Ever since then, my whole life has become more enjoyable".
Most of the album's lyrics describe this journey.
"I hope that the songs inspire others who find themselves in similar situations to make a change, and take control of their own destiny. It's never too late."
The album was produced and arranged by Nalle himself, and mixed by renowned producer/musician/songwriter/artist, Chris Laney, who provided the already big and bold material with his trademark "in your face" attitude, and a slightly more modern twist.
The list of musicians credited on the album reads like a who's who of the Swedish hard rock community. How about Kee Marcello (Easy Action/Europe), Love Magnusson (Dynazty), Pontus Norgren (Hammerfall), Micke Hujanen (AB/CD), Stefan Lindholm (Vindictiv), Henrik Bergqvist (The Poodles), and Kristian Niemann (Therion) – and that's just the solo guitarists. It seems that everyone who knows Nalle wanted to help put him in the spotlight by lending their talents to the album. However, it's Nalle's vocals, rhythm guitar, bass and songwriting that is the core of the album's sound and style. The question remains: Why on earth hasn't he sung lead before?
"A lot of people who have heard the album have wondered why I have waited so long to do it. I guess it's a question of self confidence. People also seem to find it refreshing that I have made a classic hard rock album that reminds them of the Seventies and Eighties. But this is quite simply the kind of music I grew up listening to. I guess the only target group I had in mind was me!" Nalle laughs.

Foreigner Set to Perform & Record First Live Acoustic Album 'The Hits Unplugged and Live' at Charity Event on 8/24

The greek melodic metallers INNERWISH entered the studio on the 5th of August and began recording their fifth studio album, for an early 2016 release through Ulterium Records.
Drums are being tracked at Devasoundz Studios (of SEPTIC FLESH fame) in Athens, Greece, with Fotis Benardo (ex- SEPTIC FLESH drummer and current SIXFORNINE vocalist) handling the recordings.
The as-yet-untitled new album, is the first with the two newest members of the band, George Eikosipentakis on vocals and Fragiskos Samoilis on drums.
Regarding the musical direction of the new material, the band stated: “This time things worked a bit differently, still maintaining the basic core. New members, fresh ideas were blended to our music characteristics and we believe this is the more diverse album we have ever created. Yet powerful, melodic, heavy, lyrical and full of energy. All the INNERWISH elements are still here, but expanded in a way that came naturally through this long and difficult period, during which we were composing and trying to guarantee the best possible result. This is the first ever release of the audio from this concert, which includes ELP classics from across their career including “Karn Evil 9” (“Welcome back my friends to the show that never ends”), “Hoedown,” “Take A Pebble,” “Lucky Man,” “Tarkus,” “Pictures At An Exhibition,” and “Fanfare For The Common Man.” Live At Montreux 1997 also boasts rare tracks that have never appeared on ELP studio albums such as “Touch And Go,” “Creole Dance,” and “Carmina Burana.”

Emerson, Lake and Palmer, known to all as ELP, were progressive rock’s first supergroup. Keith Emerson (keyboards) came from The Nice, Greg Lake (guitar, bass & vocals) from King Crimson and Carl Palmer (drums) from Atomic Rooster. Formed in 1970 they were an instant success and went on to have a series of huge selling albums throughout the seventies before splitting up in the early eighties. Reunited in the early nineties, they produced a new album, Black Moon, and began to tour again. In 1997 they embarked on a world tour which included this superb performance at Montreux on July 7.

Q5 was formed in 1983 by members of two popular Seattle bands: vocalist Jonathan K and guitarist (famous guitar tremolo inventor) Floyd Rose from The C.O.R.E. and Rick Pierce (guitar), Evan Sheeley (Bass) and Gary Thompson (drums) from TKO. Q5 released its first album, "STEEL THE LIGHT" in 1984, receiving immediate critical acclaim, and landing them tours with Twisted Sister, Y&T and Lita Ford. The success of "STEEL THE LIGHT" led them to eventually sign with Polygram/Squawk for their 1985 sophomore release "WHEN THE MIRROR CRACKS", but due to personal differences, the original lineup dissolved shortly after this release.
In 1991, Jonathan K and Rick Pierce started a new project called NIGHTSHADE with drummer Jeffrey McCormack and bassist Anthony Magnelli and released their first album, "DEAD OF NIGHT". This album was partially comprised of material that was to be the third Q5 release, and it received worldwide critical acclaim. In 2009, when Nightshade was slated to perform at the Headbangers Open Air Festival in Germany, with Evan Sheeley on bass, the promoters asked if they would perform a second set as Q5 and the band agreed to do it. The fans response was overwhelming to say the least!
In 2014, Q5 was asked to perform at Sweden Rock Festival, a performance that the band had agreed would be a "one off" show, but at the completion of the performance, it was obvious that this was not an ending, but merely a beginning. Upon returning to Seattle, the band secured drummer Jeffrey McCormack (former Heir Apparent, Fifth Angel) again, and guitar virtuoso Dennis Turner to complete the line-up.
"STEEL THE LIGHT" continues to be discovered and gain new fans all over the world. Critics are still touting the album as a "classic" and a "must have in any metalhead's collection". Former Spitfire Records company founder/president and industry veteran Paul Bibeau has returned to the music industry after a hiatus, launching Fade To Silence Records via AMPED Distribution worldwide.
The new label will focus on establishing a label brand, a catalogue/visual/television imprint and publishing division covering hard rock and heavy metal.
It is in the initial stages of staffing and will work with AMPED on physical and digital sales, distribution, and manufacturing.
Bibeau, who takes the role of Fade To Silence CEO, said: "When you are fully engulfed in a song, a full album, an experience, then the lead guitarist starts to unleash holy hell as the song begins to lower in level and you crank the volume to digest every last music morsel as the track dissipates into air and you are craving more - that is the Fade to Silence experience.

During Autumn 2011, SEBASTIEN went on the first real tour (in the Czech Republic and Slovakia) with EAGLEHEART (CZ) and FLOWERWHILE (CZ). They also appeared on more gigs with SERENITY, ELVENKING, VICIOUS RUMORS, FATES WARNING and at MASTERS OF ROCK in July 2012. One live-song was also released on the official Masters of Rock DVD 2012. In August 2012 the band started its first European tour withCIRCLE II CIRCLE and played some more shows with AXXIS and with JORN LANDE. The band found a new permanent drummer - Lucas R. - and played the first show with the new line-up at METALFEST 2013 before they went on tour in 2013 with MASTERPLAN, MYSTIC PROPHECY & SIREN'S CRY.
The first half of 2014 was spent with finishing the upcoming second album, concert activities in the Czech Republic and Austria,and also with preparations for the next big gig on MASTERS OF ROCK's main stage ' this time with Tony Martin (ex-BLACK SABBATH) as a special guest! This huge show happened in July and, besides the legend - Tony Martin, also Roland Grapow, Martin 'Marthus' Skaroupka and Marlin Rya Poemy showed themselves. The band performed two of legendary BLACK SABBATH songs: 'Headless Cross' and 'Nightwing'!
InNovember 2014 SEBASTIEN went to Grapow Studios again to finish the mix of the new album 'Dark Chambers of D'j' vu' which will be released on Pride & Joy Music/ Edel on September 25th, 2015 and includes guest performances by Tony Martin (Black Sabbath), Sergey Baidikov (Inner Fear), Zak Stevens (CircleIICircle, Savatage), Roland Grapow (Masterplan) and Aylin Gimenez (Sirenia)
