OPERATION: MINDCRIME 'Resurrection' Due September 23

Friday, September 23, 2016

Frontiers Music srl is excited to announce the release of 'Resurrection', the new album from Operation: Mindcrime, the brainchild of legendary vocalist Geoff Tate. The album is set for a worldwide release on September 23, 2016.

'Resurrection' is the second part of the musical trilogy from iconic metal vocalist Geoff Tate. Following one year after the release of the debut album in September 2015, Operation: Mindcrime continues in the spirit of the historic album of the same name, spawning concepts as grand as the music, and intertwining the intensity of the former Queensr'che vocalist's iconic past with the provocative, progressive mindset that has made him one of music's most resolute forces and frontmen.

'The album 'Resurrection' is the second part of our three album presentation or trilogy. It continues the story that began on the first album 'The Key' with the near death experience of the lead character known as 'H' and his subsequent recovery of the missing encryption key. With the Key finally in his possession, 'H' has everything he needs to finally launch his long awaited project called 'The New Reality'. Or does he',' explains Geoff Tate.

Tate continued, 'I'm excited for people to hear and experience 'Resurrection' because I think it answers some of the questions that were posed in the first album, 'The Key'. Musically, it offers some of the most diverse and challenging material that I've ever written.'

Geoff Tate has sold more than 25 million records at the helm of Queensryche, the band he fronted for 30 years from their inception through 2012, earning three GRAMMY nominations, five MTV Music Video Award nominations, and one MTV Video Music Awards along the way. The landmark concept album Operation: Mindcrime thrust Tate's unique social consciousness, style and expertly crafted lyrics into the national spotlight in 1988, and was followed by Empire in 1990, the album that delivered Queensryche to arena-headlining status and sold more than three million albums on the back of hit singles and radio staples "Silent Lucidity" and "Jet City Woman." By the time the band released Promised Land in 1994, Geoff Tate was universally acknowledged as one of the greatest frontmen in rock and metal, and a driving force behind one of the most innovative bands in mainstream music. From Mindcrime and Promised Land through 2009's overlooked gem American Soldier - Tate's ambitious concept album that explores the consequences of war as told through the voices of veterans - Tate's 13-album tenure with Queensryche was marked by exploration, intrigue, bold risks and gratifying results.

HOUSE OF SHAKIRA Bring 'Sour Grapes' To Fans August 26

Friday, August 26, 2016
Categories:
News Feed

One of Sweden’s legacy melodic rock acts HOUSE OF SHAKIRA are ready to deliver the best serving of Sour Grapes you’ve ever been fed.

Keeping the momentum going since lead singer Andreas Novak joined the band, Sour Grapes is the band’s third since Andreas’ 2012 debut. And as like the last album, the band has taken things to the next level, with more harmonies, more chorus hooks and more layers of everything….including for the very first time – keyboards!

Says frontman Andreas Novak: "A witty bio-update would be nice...just really can't figure out what...it’s the same line-up...Feel free to improvise on that one, Andrew - it doesn't even have to be true, just as long as it's good."

Label CEO Andrew McNeice: "Following Andreas’ instructions, I’d like to claim that owning Sour Grapes will improve your standing with the opposite sex; it will cure you of any hangover; playing it loud to your neighbors will indeed boost your reputation as the coolest person in the street and best of all, buying a CD will infinitely increase the riches of the band and the record label, allowing us all to retire that little bit sooner to the tropical island we have put a deposit on.”

House Of Shakira are a Swedish rock formed by guitarists Mats Hallstensson and Anders Lundström that started out in Stockholm around 1991 under the moniker The Station. The mid 1990's saw the band change their name to House of Shakira, named after a London bordello.

In their 25 year history the band has released seven previous studio albums, all of which have left their mark, making the band one of Sweden's best known musical exports as well as hometown heroes. Their famed debut album "Lint" remains a genre classic.

The House Of Shakira line-up of Mats Hallstensson (guitars), Anders Lundström (guitars), Andreas Novak (vocals) and the blistering rhythm section of Basse Blyberg (bass) and Martin Larsson (drums) locked themselves away in the studio, in what’s become a ritual designed to produce more glorious Scandinavian melodies.

Following the albums “House Of Shakira" and "Pay To Play"; the brilliant new “Sour Grapes” will be released worldwide via MelodicRock Records/Cargo Records on CD August 26 and via digital outlets two weeks later on September 9.

And we are excited to debut the first brand new 2016 song for HoS right now. Here's 'Trial By Fire'!

SEVEN Storm Back With 'Shattered' Sept. 23

Artist:
Friday, September 23, 2016
Categories:
News Feed

Escape Music Press Release / The acclaimed melodic rock outfit SEVEN return with their second album 'Shattered', out via Escape Music September 23.

Mick Devine - Lead Vocals
Lars Chriss - guitars, drums
Andy Loos - Bass
Fredrik Bergh - Keyboards
Kay Backlund - Keyboards
Guest vocals Nigel Bailey and Lin Devine

Produced and Mixed by Lars Chriss
Executive Producer : Khalil Turk
Mastered by Mike Lind

Tracks: Light Of 1000 Eyes / A Better Life / Fight / Shattered / Live This Life / Pieces Of You / Broken Dream / High Hopes / I Needed Time / Taking Over / Last Illusion

SEVEN originate from the AOR scene in the late eighties where Polydor records having been fairly successful in the U.K with the likes of
Magnum and Little Angels, set their sights on SEVEN, a relatively unknown act that had started life as a successful South African group,
reformed to hit the big time in the UK.

SEVEN toured extensively supporting an eclectic variety of acts that included the likes of Jason Donovan, Richard Marx, The Monkees and
Brother Beyond. It’s a time period that Mick Devine is keen to reminisce about, “Even though they were out and out pop gigs, we loved the
crowds and the noise. We went from pubs to opening to 3000 screaming fans in Southampton. It is a very addictive adrenaline rush. We got to
play all the top venues, which were fantastic; including Wembley Arena, the NEC, BIC, SEC and even the Royal Albert Hall. The Richard Marx
tour was definitely the best for us with a more grown up audience we were able to rock it up and truly be ourselves. It went down really
well!”

Entering the recording studios, with John Parr at the production helm, they recorded two very strong singles in the shape of “Inside Love” and
“Man with A Vision” both of which achieved moderate success in the UK.

In 2014 the original bass player Pat Davey was working alongside Robert Hart on an Escape Music album when the name SEVEN cropped up in
the conversation. It would seem that Khalil Turk was a big fan, as Devine explains, “Yeah, back in the day Khalil had really loved the band and
he got in touch to see if we would be interested in finally releasing an album,” Without too much convincing the project was born.
The production talents of Lars Chriss (who’s repertoire includes albums with Steve Overland, Chris Ousey) were enlisted to
produce the band’s debut album called ‘7’, which was released to critical acclaim and was held up as one of the “Albums of the Year” on
many lists.

SEVEN was born again!

Following the success of the first album, a passion was re-kindled within Devine & McFarlane, who began work on new material, and along
with the writing talents of Lars Chriss, Fredrik Bergh, Andy Loos, Kay Backlund and Jeff Paris, that passion was given focus and a place to
come to life. What they discovered was a well of untapped creativity that had been hidden for far too long and the songs poured out.

SEVEN ‘Shattered’ is a collection of wonderfully catchy songs that rely on clean and memorable melodies that allow Devine’s distinctive voice
to shine through. It was Devine who took the lead in writing the lyrics on this album, matching the intensity and feel of the music to deliver a
modern melodic rock album with influences ranging from hints of Foreigner in “A Better Life” and “Broken Dream”, Journey in “High Hopes”
and even traces of Magnum in “Light of 1000 Eyes” and “Last Illusion”.

The lyrical themes are drawn from a depth of life experience and observations and are heartfelt and real. The production talents of Lars
Chriss and the line up of truly great musicians, deliver an album of depth and variation which ranges from driving guitar-led tracks with
memorable riffs to melodic anthems, all backed by stunning keys, bass and standout solo’s. It is an album that is a worthy follow-up to the
critically acclaimed ‘7’.

This album represents a natural progression for SEVEN and it features 11 stunning tracks that are laden with great musical performances and
soaring vocals, and while being fresh and up to date, they have bite and edge and yet remain melodic and catchy
This is one superb follow up album that will not disappoint.

Frontiers Music Announce the Signing of SHADOWSPELL

Artist:
Categories:

Frontiers Music Srl is pleased to announce the singing of SHADOWSPELL, a new melodic metal act born from a collaboration between Italian guitarist/songwriter Aldo Lonobile and vocalist Nils K. Rue.

Lonobile is best known for his extraordinary work with power/progressive stalwarts Secret Sphere. Throughout the world, Nils K. Rue has become a household name, having traversed the globe with Norwegian progressive metal giants Pagan's Mind.

The two musicians met for the first time in 2003 during the ProgPower USA in Atlanta, when Pagan's Mind and Secret Sphere were both featured on the roster. They forged a friendship that has lasted the last 13 years, leading to the creation of songs between performances and writing duties for their respective main bands.

The rest of the super group line-up features Symphony X bassist Mike LePond, ex- Gamma Ray/ex-Helloween/ex-MasterPlan drummer Uli Kusch and former bandmate of Lonobile in Secret Sphere, Antonio Agate (ex- Odd Dimension).

The concept caught the attention of Frontiers Music srl President, Serafino Perugino and went from being just an idea on paper and a few demos to the birth of Shadowspell!

Aldo Lonobile says that 'everytime Nils sings, he amazes me! The ideas we are working on are superb. The result will be a melodic metal album featuring lots of orchestrations, great solos and riffs and killer melodies. You can hear old Queensryche, Yngwie Malmsteen and Savatage influences! Be ready for a melodic metal jewel. I am very grateful to Frontiers for the chance to release this work which I am extremely proud of!'

"I am really stoked about this," says singer Nils K. Rue. "Some of the lyrics and melody lines I laid down on the demo songs we wrote over the years are really personal to me and I put my full heart into them. Between work with Pagan's Mind, Eidolon and other projects, the Shadowspell songs were a way to let out the real emotional part of me. Often recorded alone in my home studio, just before sunrise while in a very creative and intense mood, it mirrors the real me in a right way. It was like: I could come home heartbroken, with no one to talk to. So I started to record my emotions right there on Aldo's tracks only to put the whole thing on the shelf the next day, leaving it there for years. I couldn't think of anyone better to write emotional and heavy music with than Aldo, he's my soul brother musically and his compositions give me goosebumps."

Rat Pak Records Set To Release MICHAEL SWEET ‘One Sided War’

Artist:
Friday, August 26, 2016
Categories:
News Feed

In what promises to be Stryper front-man Michael Sweet’s most intense solo release to date, “One Sided War” showcases a full plate of hard rock & classic metal riffs from start to finish. One Sided War marks Michael’s 7th studio solo album and it clearly proves that he is still at the very top of his game! “I’ll tell you about it”, says Michael, “Musically it’s my heaviest solo album. It’s not thrash metal but there are definitely some songs on there that will pop out at you. There are some songs that have a bit of the Iron Maiden / Dio feel to them, as well as some songs that have a little bit of a Van Halen influence to them. It’s a very guitar-oriented, hard rock/metal album with lots of melodies and hooks!”

Surrounding himself in the studio with Whitesnake guitarist Joel Hoekstra, Evanescence drummer Will Hunt, bassist John O’Boyle and East Coast shred-master Ethan Brosh, Michael began creating what would soon be known as “One Sided War”. Michael states “Originally I planned on showcasing my own guitar playing; I was going to do it all myself, but once I brought Joel & Ethan into the picture, things began to take a new direction and I am very happy with what we have accomplished”. Says Ethan Brosh about working with Michael, "He's one of those guys who have always been at the top of their game and has just never lost it and for me to be a part of this is very special". Joel Hoekstra comments "Michael and I actually go back to my time in Night Ranger when we opened for him when he was playing with Boston. Ever since then we've just been kind of collaborating and this is sort of a natural evolution getting to play on a few songs on his solo album".

The fast and furious opener “Bizarre” ignites the album’s pace with it's lightning fast riffage, soaring vocals and blazing guitar solos. Tracks like “Can’t Take This Life”, “One Sided War”, "Golden Age", “I Am” and “Comfort Zone” keep the metal fires ablaze, while tracks like “Radio”, “One Way” and “You Make Me Wanna” bring the hard rock vibe to the forefront . “One Sided War” features only one ballad, “Who Am I?”, a heartfelt, passionate song that reminds us of the softer side of Michael’s talents. Closing out the disc is a bonus track; it’s a different version of the song “Can’t Take This Life”, a duet with Michael and 16 year old up-and-coming female vocalist Moriah Formica. If you are a fan of Michael Sweet / Stryper or a fan of classic Hard Rock & Metal in general “One Sided War” is an absolute must have, you won’t be disappointed! Official release date is August 26, 2016

The CD was tracked at Spirithouse Recording Studios in Northampton, Massachusetts.

TOTO 'Live In Montreux 1991' DVD/CD Out Sept. 16

Artist:
Friday, September 16, 2016

At the personal invitation of Quincy Jones and legendary Montreux Jazz Festival founder Claude Nobs to perform at the famed Swiss festival, Toto couldn’t resist the opportunity, resulting in Toto: Live At Montreux 1991. “From the perspective of the members of Toto,” states guitarist Steve Lukather, “the Montreux Jazz Festival is amongst the most revered events staged in the world. Our association, as a band, and individuals, is something we are deeply proud of. So much fun, and so much history has graced the ground in and around the lake.”

On September 16, 2016, Eagle Rock Entertainment will present this very special concert film from Toto’s storied history. Toto: Live At Montreux 1991 — the last tour with Jeff and Mike Porcaro, alongside original members Steve Lukather and David Paich — will be available on DVD+CD, Blu-ray+CD, and Digital Video in North America [MSRP TBA].

In 1991, Toto was in the midst of a run of headline dates and European summer festivals, while finishing their new album Kingdom Of Desire. It was a time of rebirth for the band, and the Montreux stage proved the perfect opportunity to test drive the new songs. Fans could feel the electricity in the air as Lukather, Paich, and the late brothers Jeff and Mike Porcaro took the stage.

“Yes! Time to take a trip in the ol’ Toto Hot Tub Time Machine! Back to 1991, yes ‘91! Where pure live music was performed on hallowed ground under the paternal wings of Quincy Jones and Claude Nobs,” states keyboardist David Paich. “When I first listened back, the thought omnipresent in my mind was simply, ‘That’s that raw, sizzling energy we had in high school!’  Here we are – four valley dudes from Los Angeles with some assorted musical friends, bringing it once again.”

Sadly, this was Jeff Porcaro’s final tour with the band, before his passing in 1992. Lukather, who personally mixed Live At Montreux 1991 with legendary engineer Niko Bolas, expresses the real emotions that this concert channels, and how poignant it was to the band’s history:

“The most important thing is you can see and hear the love we have for each other and watching this in 2016 with Niko…well bittersweet is a term that has been so overused but in this case…there were tears and a lot of laughter as the memories of this night and this final tour with Jeff were captured.  You guys get to see a version of the band that will never and COULD never be again!”

Few ensembles in the history of recorded music have individually or collectively had a larger imprint on pop culture than the members of Toto. With over 38 years together and thousands of credits and accolades to their names, Toto remains one of the top selling touring and recording acts in the world.

As individuals, the band members can be heard on an astonishing 5000 albums that together amass a sales history of a half a billion albums.  Amongst these recordings, NARAS applauded the performances with more than 200 Grammy nominations. Their repertoire continues to be current via high profile usage on broadcast television.  They ARE pop culture, and are one of the few 70’s bands that have endured the changing trends and styles and enjoy a multi-generational fan base.

Last summer, they released their first new studio album in ten years –TOTO XIV – that debuted Top 10 in nine countries around the world and became their most successful album since 1988 in the U.S. and UK.  This August / September, the band will stage a headline tour of North America. Details are available via totoofficial.com.

MelodicRock Records is excited to reveal yet another new artist destined for bigger things. This is the second album for the band, with the debut released independently in 2012. Jaded Past is the creation of lead vocalist, guitarist and songwriter George Becker.

The result is a genuinely warm and engaging record that takes a guitar driven American rock sound and mixes in some Midwestern John Mellencamp styled high energy rock-n-country.

Following the release of the CD, Jaded Past will embark on a number of live performances beginning with a headlining show at the Jersey shore on August 13, 2016.

Then in the late fall, Becker will take Jaded Past on the road in support of the new CD release in areas spanning the East Coast, New England, Midwest, Southern Region and possibly The West Coast. For the 2016 live shows, Becker has enlisted the amazing line-up of Scott LaFlamme on lead guitar, Jason Cornwell on bass and Rob LaFlamme on drums.

Decibel Geek Podcast - ANGELS IN VEIN

Friday, November 21, 2014
Categories:
Podcasts & Radio

Decibel Geek podcast/YouTube channel videographer Rockin' Ron Runyon recently sat down with the new Hard Rock band Angels In Vein in their home base of Las Vegas for the full band's first on-camera video interview. What transpired was a 30+ minute video conversation with each member on everything that any rock fan would want to know about this up and coming band of veteran rockers. The band, consisting of Guitarist Todd "Taz" Anthony (Cherry St., Producer), 2nd Guitarist Stacey Blades (L.A. Guns, Let It Rawk), Bassist Eric Stacy (Faster Pussycat, Jetboy), Drummer Troy Patrick Farrell (White Lion, Gilby Clarke), and Vocalist Chris Van Dahl (L.A. Guns, Steven Tyler/Legends/Aeromyth), talked candidly about their history, the band name, the label they don't want, the difference/similarity in selling records today compared to the 70's, internet response, their future plans, and much more. A few excerpts follow:

On the internet's overwhelming response:

Chris said: "I think it's a testimony that the timing for this is right and people are hungry for a really great hard rock band."

On defining the songs they will be recording:
Stacey said: "I have not been this excited about an original project in years."
Chris said: "The songs are a good indication but, in no way defines the band. There will be a lot of surprises so, stow your expectations"

On the difference/similarity of selling your music today:

Chris said: "It's like we're back in the 70's building a following by touring and selling our record out of the back of a van but, the van now is the internet."

On being labeled in the press as a "Supergroup":

Eric said: "We're flattered that they say that but, that word never came from us. We're not Asia"
Chris said: "A Supergroup is Hollywood Vampires"
Eric said: "And that's a fly by night, done for cash thing."
Troy said: "Those groups are contrived. They are typically known for big shows and catalogs of the guys that are in the band. This is not a cover band."

On the name Angels In Vein:

Chris said: "Originally we were going to call the band "The Devil You Know" and I went after that. Then, literally the day I was going to launch the website, two guys one from Killswitch Engage and another big band released that they had formed a band called "The Devil You Know" and I said WHAT!"
Chris said: "I was doing some research and came across a passage that ended with angels and the next sentence was hyphen and then "in vain" and it stuck with me. Then I thought why don't we spin it and instead of vain we go with vein because what we do comes from inside us."

On releasing more music:

Chris said: "We may just release a song a month for the next 50 years."
Eric said: "We're looking at releasing a song a month right now."

Athens-based Alternative Metal band Ghost Season have announced their first full length album titled "Like Stars In A Neon Sky".
The ten-track album will arrive on September 15th on CD and Digital release.
Like Stars In A Neon Sky follows the band’s EP "Ghosts Like Her" on 2014 and the single "Break My Chains" of December in 2015.
It also marks the debut album of Ghost Season newly lineup with Helen Nota as the drummer of the band.

The first look at the LP comes with the video for the song “Fade Away”. The same day Ghost Season will release their new video clip for the song "Fade Away". The album will also contain a cover of Savage Garden’s “Break Me Shake Me”.

HALEN HUNGRY? ROTH SERVES UP “EAT’EM & SMILE”

Heard you missed us, well we’re back! “Dave & Dave Unchained” - Van Halen podcast returns with episode 4 celebrating the 30th anniversary of David Lee Roth’s 1986 solo album, “Eat’em & Smile.”

At a time when Van Halen didn’t sound very Van Halen, Roth opted to head in the big rock direction VH was known for mixed with a bit of his “Crazy from the Heat” style added in for good measure. Roth hired gunslingers Steve Vai on guitar and Billy Sheehan on bass with Gregg Bissonette behind the drum kit. The videos were wild and colorful and the live show was packed with Van Halen hits.

The Daves discuss the launch of Roth’s band, the “Eat’em & Smile” tour and breakdown the album song-by-song. There’s also an exclusive interview with Vai, who looks back on his “Eat’em & Smile” days, why the band changed direction with the next album “Skyscraper” and even opened up about the “Eat’em & Smile” reunion that almost happened and might still happen. To cap things off, the cast concludes with part 2 of the interview with “Van Halen Rising” author Greg Renoff who talks about his massive “Eat’em & Smile” article he wrote for Guitar World, Roth’s botched movie and the awkward position DLR is currently in these days.

Sit down with a bottle of anything and a glazed donut while enjoying this firecracker of an episode!

Frontiers Music Announce The Signing of Dario Mollo's CROSSBONES

Categories:
News Feed

Best known for his partnerships in the The Cage with Tony Martin (ex-Black Sabbath) and Voodoo Hill with Glenn Hughes (Black Country Communion, Deep Purple, California Breed), Italian guitarist Dario Mollo began his career in 1981 with the band Crossbones. With them, he released his first studio album in 1989, which was produced by Kit Woolven (Thin Lizzy, Magnum and UFO, among others) before getting involved in the production side of things himself.

'This new project, "CrossBones" was created with the intent to pay homage to the band from where it all started," says Dario. For the occasion, he brought back the drummer of the original lineup, Ezio Secomandi together with his regular collaborator Dario Patti on bass and keyboards.

The choice for the singer is Carl Sentance (Nazareth, Don Airey Band, Persian Risk, Krokus), who came at the suggestion of Don Airey of Deep Purple, during a recent visit to Dario's home. 'This album includes the best of all the experience I gathered in my career in music and in artistic production,' concludes Dario. The quality of the material he recorded is witness to that.

The album is planned for release towards the end of 2016, with tour dates to follow.

Lou Gramm, Mick Jones Recall 1981 Album of the Year, Foreigner 4

Artist:

Dallas, TX - July 7, 2016.  North American syndicated Rock radio show and website InTheStudio with Redbeard: The Stories Behind History’s Greatest Rock Bands  visits with Lou Gramm and Mick Jones for the 35th anniversary of Foreigner’s most significant album, Foreigner 4.  The Album of the Year in 1981, it was # 1 seller on the American charts for ten weeks, producing the hits “Waiting For A Girl Like You”, “Urgent”, the rocker “Night Life” , and the classic “Jukebox Hero”.

In the late1970s the band Foreigner seemed destined to become a classic case of too much, too soon. The band’s first, 1977’s Foreigner and then Double Vision in 1978, were multi-platinum hits of unprecedented proportions and Foreigner entered the Rock and Roll arena as a full blown star. It was heady stuff, to be sure, but that kind of rapid success is often a recipe for quick decline as well.

For Foreigner the critical point came after their third album Head Games which was released in 1979. Head Games didn’t do as well as the first two albums, and the six Foreigner band members started to blame each other, resulting in departure of two of Foreigner’s original members. There were serious questions as to whether the remaining four should continue as the band Foreigner. In the end Mick Jones, Lou Gramm, Rick Wills and Dennis Elliott decided to forge ahead, making their most successful album ever. Mick Jones, Foreigner’s founder and lead guitarist, and former singer, songwriter Lou Gramm reflect with InTheStudio host Redbeard, on the crisis and eventual vindication that marked Foreigner 4

“We started to rehearse for the 4 album. I was so frustrated because I felt that the direction of the band was getting so diverse, with everybody wanting to express themselves... I wasn’t hogging the writing. I was ready to be challenged by anybody else’s ideas, and as far as I was concerned the objective was to achieve a great album...and I was pretty strong minded about it.”  -  Mick Jones

“It was only after a week in the studio that the kind of undercurrent and dissatisfaction came to a head and the changes were made, or I think the band would have fallen apart right in the studio.” - Lou Gramm

AOR Heaven Next Releases Announced: DANTE FOX & MISS BEHAVIOUR

Artist:

Germany based label AOR HEAVEN will release the new album “Breathless” by DANTE FOX on August 26 and “Ghost Play”, the new album from Swedish Melodic Rock sensation MISS BEHAVIOUR on September 2.

Product: Miss Behaviour - Ghost Play
Release date: 02.09.2016

10 years after releasing their debut album Heart of Midwinter, Miss Behaviour is back with their 4th studio album Ghost Play. With Ghost Play the band is ready to take their career to the next level.

The breakthrough came with the album Last Woman Standing (2011). In spring 2011 Miss Behaviour competed in Swedish national radio with the song Till we meet again, making the premiere live performance with the current lineup in front of 400.000 radio listeners. Late 2011 the album Last Woman Standing won the Melodic.net ”Best AOR album of 2011” readers poll, and got fantastic reviews from magazines such as Classic Rock (UK), Sweden Rock Magazine (SE) and more. UK Magazine Classic Rock picked Cynthia as one of the best tracks in 2011, and featured the song on the compilation Classic Rock Buzz.

The band promoted Last Woman Standing with two successful tours in the UK, 2011 and 2012.

The follow up album to Last Woman Standing, entitled Double Agent was released in August 2014 on AOR Heaven. Once again the reviews were great - Classic Rock, Sweden Rock Magazine and Aftonbladet (SE) all praised - and this also earned them a slot on Stockholm Rocks Festival in November.

Ghost Play
Together with producer Patrik Magnusson (Crashdiet, Mick Mars among others), Miss Behaviour spent the entire 2015 writing and recording. Ghost Play is classic hard rock, with a great production and a great variety of songs. Everything is presented in a way that always been the essence of Miss Behaviour. Great melodies are in focus. This time it is presented, however, with a more powerful sound.

Release date: 26.08.2016

Dante Fox were formed in September 1989 by lead Vocalist Sue Willetts  She was quickly joined by guitarist Tim Manford and this created a golden partnership.
On the strength of their songs Dante Fox caught the interest of Linda Bruce from Rich Bitch Studio’s and a debut album was now a reality. Following this an appearance on ITV television show ‘Hit The Town’ hosted by Rory McGrath launched the sounds of Lost And Lonely Heart through televisions all around the UK.

Dante Fox signed to Now and Then Records in March 1996 and in May they appeared on the Gods line up next to Hugo and Jamie Kyle. In October 1996 the debut Under Suspicion was released. Many shows followed including a support tour with ELO, Enuff Z Nuff and European festivals such as Mindview and Aardshock. Capitalising on this European interest the band returned to Holland for more headline shows. In April 1997 Under Suspicion was released in Japan and received a 87/100 review in BURRN magazine.

The Second album The Fire Within was released on Frontiers Records in March 1999. The album included current live favourites Under The City Lights, Firing My Heart and the dance floor hit Remember.  In Japan Firing My Heart and Over You were added to the playlist of Masa Itoh’s Heavy Metal syndicate radio show. The band closed the year with an appearance at the Gods and also the backing band for Stan Bush.

The band took a break and returned in 2005, with a slot at Firefest and a UK tour support to Vixen.
The Third album ‘Under The Seven Skies’ was released worldwide on Frontiers Records in March 2007 featuring the nine minute epic title track. The album was voted best album of 2007 by the listeners of ARFM Radio and the band continued to support the album by playing shows with Danny Vaughn and Wigwam.

The Fourth album Lost Man’s Ground released in October 2012 at the band’s appearance at Firefest. This featured a new rhythm section Andy Perfect (Drums) and Alan Mills (Bass), and also Alessandro Del Vecchio on backing vocals and Eric Ragno on keyboards.
In June 2012 a magical night was experienced opening for US band Night Ranger in London. This year ended with a much anticipated performance at Firefest and a great slot at Hard Rock Hell.

Sue Willetts was voted 19 in the top 50 Female vocalists of all time in  Classic Rock Magazine alongside Ann Wilson and Cher and the band performed at HRH AOR (Tesla, FM ) Hard Rock Hell Ibiza and a very successful tour with Romeo’s Daughter.
After their performance at HRH AOR 3 2015 time was spent writing and recording material for a new album.

The new album Breathless was recorded with Mark Stuart/Sheena Sheer and mixed and mastered at M2 Studio’s UK in May 2016 by Sheena Sear (Magnum). The album also features Keyboardist Eric Ragno and vocalist Lee Small who sang harmony backing vocals. Dante Fox are very excited to be working with AOR Heaven on Breathless and looking forward to presenting the new album to their fans on its release date of 26th August 2016.

ICONIC EYE Release "In A Broken Dream" Single

We are pleased to release on behalf of Iconic Eye the wonderful cover of the Python Lee Jackson classic "In A Broken Dream"

Greg Dean Said " When we recorded our current album "Hidden in Plain Sight", we realised that we are a new band and that people would need a cover song so that they could work out if they wanted to hear more; and to allow us to appeal to mainstream radio which may then lead to a bigger impact on the market.

Our singer, Tim, joined the band part way through the recording and this song was his suggestion. "In a Broken Dream", by Python Lee Jackson is an epic cross-over song, and was also covered by Thunder; so the pedigree of the song is a given".

Tim felt that this song gave a great opportunity to show off all aspects of the band but in particular his voice, which after all is what attracts people to want to hear more. It has turned out to be a favourite live and we hope that its release on Monday 4th July allows the band to attract many new listeners.

You can buy the single on iTunes or if you prefer a physical copy of the album it is available here: http://www.iconiceyemusic.com/store1/

RICKY PHILLIPS Talks To Sleaze Roxx; MONTROSE & COVERDALE/PAGE

Follow the link to read Sleaze Roxx's interview with Styx bassist Ricky Phillips including details of the last recordings from Ronnie Montrose to be released.

Credit: Ruben Mosqueda of Sleaze Roxx (sleazeroxx.com). Excerpts from the interview:

DETAILS ON LAST RECORDINGS FROM RONNIE MONTROSE ABOUT TO BE RELEASED

Ricky Phillips: I met Ronnie back in the early '80s through a producer friend of mine. He and Ronnie had done a project where it was just he and Ronnie on stage. It was extraordinary. It was probably overshooting for the average Joe. It was aimed for a higher brow musically. Ronnie had done the Montrose thing with Sammy [Hagar] and he had done Gamma which was a bit more 'proggy.' He wanted to do something new. If he had just stayed a rock guitarist, he have become a household name because he was so great at it. He is a guy that played those licks first and a lot of guys stole from him. I've been told this from guys I know that are in huge bands.

I went out to do shows with Ronnie along with Eric Singer [KISS, Alice Cooper, Badlands]. We had a few different singers. Ronnie loved the way we sounded and he was inspired to do another rock record. Eric, Ronnie and I went into the studio and laid down ten tracks. I started working with Styx and Eric resumed working with Alice and KISS back to back.

Right before I went on tour with Styx I received a call from Ronnie he said 'Listen I have an idea. I'm calling the record 10 by 10. We'll get 10 different singers, one for each song and we'll get this thing done.' I said 'That's a great idea Ronnie but we can't even think of one singer we like! How are we going to find 10?!' [laughs] He replied 'Listen I'll call Sammy [Hagar] and ask if he can do one. I'll call Edgar [Winter] and see if he can do another. I'll call people I know.' I didn't have the time to chase down people to sing on the album but he did. He got them and then some. He got Mark Farner [Grand Funk Railroad], Gregg Rolie [Journey, Santana], Eric Martin [Mr. Big] and David Pattison [Gamma]. I got Tommy Shaw on one of the tracks. It became this cool project that had this really cool band.

The record sounds cohesive. It's a very interesting record. We finally found a home for it. We're having some meetings with a label about it getting released and I hope we have this album released by the beginning of 2017.

I jumped ahead a little bit. When I say that we recorded the album; drums, bass and rhythm guitars were done. Ronnie passed before he could lay down guitar solos. I mixed the record so that Ronnie was very big in the record. It was his concept so I wanted to ensure that he was represented on this record. I wanted to bring in guys that Ronnie was into to come in and record the solos for the album. I didn't get everybody that I went after but I think all the right guys are on the record. There's a great mix of singers and guitarists on there. I have Glenn Hughes on a track with Phil Collen from Def Leppard playing the solo, Sammy Hagar featuring Steve Lukather [Toto]' Eric Martin, I paired up with Dave Meniketti [Y&T] and on and on. We have Joe Bonamassa on there too. I also have Brad Whitford who is the unsung hero to both Ronnie and I in Aerosmith. He's the dark horse in that band. I called him and he was honored to be a part of it. I can't wait for you to hear the track with Edgar Winter and Rick Derringer. It sounds like it was lifted right out of the '70s.

I'm excited for the album to come out. There's been a lot of blood, sweat and tears put into this album and a lot of love. I think Ronnie will be looking down on us smiling when it's released. It's pretty special.

WAS JIMMY PAGE WORKING WITH DAVID COVERDALE IN PAGE/PLANT JUST TO WORK WITH ROBERT PLANT?

Sleaze Roxx: And There's Coverdale/Page which you were a part of. I was looking at the RIAA page and the album achieved platinum status [1 million copies sold] in the United States. At the time, it was considered a 'flop' but it sold a million copies. It's a good record.

Ricky Phillips: It went platinum relatively quickly too. I learned a lot on that record from Jimmy [Page] and David [Coverdale] making that record about the business. John Kalodner, a behind the scenes record guy who has made a lot of careers happen, really believed in it. John knew it was a great combination. David [Coverdale] got a lot of flak for sounding like Robert Plant. You know when Jimmy [Page] starts playing, that's what you do! [laughs] That's what comes out of your voice. That's what needs to be done! [laughs] That's what David was doing. I think he did an incredible job. I have some recordings of us working on material. I think those are even better than the record because we're fishing for ideas. That's really honest, pure creation happening there and I happen to have those recorded.

As time went on, Jimmy bought a home in Florida and he was moving there. Then we moved the recording to Vancouver, BC, and people got sick' A lot of stuff started happening. We spent about five months working and putting that album together. I'm not making any excuses because I think we made a great record. When we were making the video ['Pride And Joy'] Jimmy pulled me aside and said 'I'm getting back together with Robert [Plant].' You know, there will always be those rumors that he worked with David just to get Robert to work with him. [laughs] I don't know that it's true. It makes me wonder. That's what I wondered at the time when he pulled me aside. That was the end of Coverdale/Page.

I had a blast hanging out with Jimmy. I was constantly asking him about The Yardbirds which is one of my favorite bands. Can you imagine a band that featured [Jeff] Beck, [Eric] Clapton and [Jimmy] Page at one time or another? He didn't seem to mind telling the stories. [laughs] On many levels, it was an interesting and educational time.

Australian Rockers KAATO Announce Debut Release

Artist:
Categories:
News Feed

KAATO, independent rock band fronted and founded by Australian rocker Kurt Lowney have just released their debut self-titled album, produced by rock industry veteran Mitch Malloy.

KAATO came together in 2015 as Lowney began working with Nashville-based Malloy to write and record the self-titled KAATO album. "From day one, the musical chemistry between Kurt and me was undeniable.” says Malloy. Both were deeply rooted in the same musical influences.

Kurt has harbored the dream of KAATO since he was a 16-year-old recording in post-earthquake Japan in 2011. The Japanese called him Kaato (pronounced Kah-toe), meaning Kurt. It was during this time KAATO became Kurt's performance persona and stage name.

Kurt and Mitch began recording the KAATO album in Nashville at Mitch’s studio, Malloy Master Tracks along with Kurt’s longtime friend and bass player, Mika Nuutinan, and Mitch’s former bandmate and guitar virtuoso Tristan Avakian (Queen Extravaganza, Red Dawn, Malloy). The marriage of the four band members not only created dynamic, melodically charged music but also a compelling, not to be missed live show. When KAATO takes the stage all eyes and ears are held captive by the infectious music and dynamic performance.

The KAATO album launches with the first single, High Time, a fast-paced party song. The video gives an insight into the vintage live appeal of the band and its high energy show. While a complimentary hat tip to the original founders and influencers of rock, KAATO definitely brings its own fresh sound to the rock scene. Start to finish, "Our music is loud, it's fast, it's rude, it's rock and roll...it doesn't care. It's a mixture of Aerosmith, Boston, Styx and Zeppelin, and all the stuff that just makes you want to get up and dance.” says Lowney.

KAATO is scheduled to embark on a US and European tour beginning in July 2016 with tour stops including the world famous Whisky A Go Go in LA, Nashville, London, Liverpool, Athens, Madrid and Oslo, to name a few.

KAATO Track Listing (all songs penned by Lowney/Malloy):

1. SDRR
2. Only A Day Away
3. Time Stands Still
4. It’s All Happening Now
5. You Lose
6. Like A Blade
7. Guilty Go Free
8. I Don’t Love You
9. Colder
10. Clean As A Whistle
11. High Time

Rock Candy Records Latest - TARGET & GIRL

The following five new Rock Candy titles are available now from www.rockcandyrecords.com for a discounted price including postage to anywhere ending on July 17.

GIRL 'SHEER GREED' CANDY307

CRASHING AWKWARDLY in to a scene that was almost exclusively primed for down and dirty hard rock, Girl were utterly out of step with the times. Hard rock bands during the very early 1980s complied with a strict in-vogue youth uniform of denim, leather and greasy long hair. The NWOBHM, as it was labelled, may have been a force for good but it certainly wasn't tolerant of aesthetic deviation' something that Girl found to be a major stumbling block.

Dressed to kill, they resembled a car-crash combination of Duran Duran, Japan and the New York Dolls. Musically, however, their riff-tastic style was more in tune with Aerosmith, Cheap Trick and Kiss. The band's somewhat androgynous look, penchant for eye makeup and cocky pouts, set them apart and there was no getting away from the fact that visually these guys were totally out of step with the scene. Sadly, therefore, they suffered some ridicule; despite the fact that they were actually trailblazing a style that was later successfully utilised by acts such as Hanoi Rocks, Motley Crue and Ratt.

Signed to Jet Records (owned and operated by the Mr Big of rock, Don Arden), this, the band's debut album, co-produced by Chris Tsangarides (Y&T, Thin Lizzy) and Nick Tauber (Def Leppard, UFO), made the critics swoon, but on the streets it was a different story, with the band failing to make inroads and wrestling with a label that didn't quite 'get it'. It remains, however, a masterpiece of musical juxtaposition boasting explosive tracks like 'My Number', 'Hollywood Tease' and an OTT cover of the Kiss Klassic 'Do You Love Me'.

MY NUMBER 12. HEARTBREAK AMERICA BONUS TRACKS: 13. YOU REALLY GOT ME  (B-Side) 14. LOVE IS A GAME (Single)

GIRL 'WASTED YOUTH' CANDY308

THEY COULDN'T have been more different; five musical rouges from London who had, almost by accident, joined a NWOBHM street party and found themselves sticking out like dandies in bare knuckle cage fight. That these guys were unique was the least of their worries. Fortunately, they made amends by tooling up with razor sharp riffs, knock out hooks and raw production. They were also fronted by a charismatic lead vocalist that taunted the crowd by blowing kisses to bikers.
'Wasted Youth' was the band's second album for Jet Records, originally issued in 1982, and one that was recorded in two phases, amidst getting bogged down in the sort of unnecessary label aggro that had already started to erode their faith. Learning from their previous visual faux pas, they decided to dial down the glam look and concentrate on beefing up their sound, with tough guy bravado and a dress code to match. It was a brave attempt to redress the balance but, despite the coordinated effort and finely honed material, the project was still not firing on all six with a label still unable to connect the dots.

'Wasted Youth', sadly, was lost in space, a fate accentuated by the departure of guitarist Phil Collen, accepting an offer to join Def Leppard for their epoch making 'Pyromania' album. Later, Phil Lewis went on to front highly successful rock outfit LA Guns. Both of them left behind a 24 Karat legacy, one that has been hailed by several high profile musicians as a huge influence on the glam rock explosion.

SPECIAL DELUXE COLLECTOR'S EDITION, 2CD SET, FULLY REMASTERED SOUND, 12 BONUS TRACKS, FETAURES PHIL COLLEN (DEF LEPPARD) AND PHILIP LEWIS (GIRL) 16 PAGE FULL COLOUR BOOKLET, 4,000 WORD ESSAY ABOUT THE MAKING OF THE ALBUM WITH NEW BAND INTERVIEWS, ENHANCED ARTWORK AND PREVIOUSLY UNSEEN PHOTOS.

TARGET 'S/T' CANDY309

ARGUABLY THE BRITISH rock scene was hugely influenced by the massive commercial impact of American melodic rock bands that emerged during the late 70s. However there was a time, earlier in the decade, when British rock cast a huge impact on American music. Acts such as Free, Bad Company, Trapeze and Deep Purple were the hot ticket items of the time and their influence was staggeringly persuasive' not least on Target.

Memphis based Target were keen students of the British sound and forged their style and identity with exacting accuracy. It was a style that showcased vocalist Jimi Jamison's (later to join Survivor) vocals perfectly, a wonderful combination of rough-hewn growls delivered with velvet smoothness, sitting proudly atop songs that packed a decidedly blues rock punch. The combination was hugely compelling.

Discovered by Black Oak Arkansas frontman Jim Dandy and his manager, in a Memphis Club, the five piece band were soon signed to A&M records and put in to the legendary Ardent Studios, with producer John Ryan, to cut this, their debut album. It is a work of sublime proficiency, digging deep into soulful grooves and muscular rock. Despite a concerted effort, including a thirty date US tour opening for Black Sabbath, the record failed to resonate commercially with the public at the time but did it provide a healthy platform from which to launch their follow up album.

SPECIAL DELUXE COLLECTOR'S EDITION, FULLY REMASTERED SOUND, 2 BONUS TRACKS, FEATURES JIMI JAMISON, 12 PAGE FULL COLOUR BOOKLET, 3,500 WORD ESSAY ABOUT THE MAKING OF THE ALBUM WITH NEW BAND INTERVIEWS, ENHANCED ARTWORK AND PREVIOUSLY UNSEEN PHOTOS.

TRACK LISTING: 1. LOVE JUST WON'T QUIT 2. BAD BOY 3. LET ME LIVE 4. JUST A LITTLE TOO MUCH 5. CAN'T FAKE IT 6. 99 '  7. YOU NEED A WOMAN 8. LET ME DOWN EASY 9. WORKIN' SONG 10. ARE YOU READY BONUS TRACKS: 11. YOU NEED A WOMAN (LIVE 1978) 12. LET ME LIVE (LIVE 1978)

TARGET 'CAPTURED' CANDY309

MEMPHIS DURING THE 70s was a hot bed of musical talent. Sure, its blues and r 'n' b roots had always been proudly on display, but with the explosion of FM radio, bigger live venues, and the establishment of a renown studio (Ardent), the city seemed to be providing its home grown musicians with an opportunity to set the world on fire. None of these possibilities were lost on Target, a cabal of tough rockers keen to stamp their identity on the local scene and beyond.

Riding a wave of creativity and seeking to maximise their already solid reputation as a band to watch, Target took the recording of this, their second album, with an impressive sense of purpose. Their debut album had been well received, but 'Captured', originally issued in 1977 on the A&M label, showcased a band looking to maximise not only their sound but also their image, profile and appeal.

Retaining their southern rock roots, the album was recorded by producer Paul Hornsby (the Allman Brothers Band, Marshall Tucker Band, Grinderswitch) at the famed Capricorn Studios in Macon, Georgia. Tougher than the debut, the album oozes a decidedly British blues rock influence, bringing to mind Humble Pie, Bad Company and Trapeze, with vocalist Jimi Jamison developing his unique, velvety rasp, which would later serve him well as the frontman of Survivor. Sadly, swamped by insurmountable business and managerial problems, Target eventually dissolved, leaving behind two fine but now little known albums.

SPECIAL DELUXE COLLECTOR'S EDITION, FULLY REMASTERED SOUND, 6 BONUS TRACKS, FEATURES JIMI JAMISON, 12 PAGE FULL COLOUR BOOKLET, 3,500 WORD ESSAY ABOUT THE MAKING OF THE ALBUM WITH NEW BAND INTERVIEWS, ENHANCED ARTWORK AND PREVIOUSLY UNSEEN PHOTOS.

HOLDIN' ON  10. RUNAWAY 11. MAKE OUR DREAMS COME TRUE 12.JUST FOR YOU 13. MAYBE IN TIME 14. IT'S ONLY LOVE

BULLSEYE 'ON TARGET' CANDY313

BACK IN THE day, long before MTV or the internet, new artists and records just sort of escaped into the record stores with little explanation or indeed fanfare. For us in Europe the situation was even more mystical. We would keep an eye on the import racks looking for new stateside releases that showed some kind of musical promise. Boston, Kansas, Starcastle and Journey all came to our attention via this random method of discovery and Bullseye were no exception to this.

With roots in the Boston, Massachusetts scene but coming together in New York City, they quickly secured a record deal with the prestigious Columbia label, and set about recording their debut album, with producer Rob Stevens (who'd previously worked with prog rockers Crack The Sky), at the renowned Le Studio, Morin Heights, Quebec, and finished it in NYC at the Hit Factory. It was a match made in heaven, with the results displaying a musical maturity that defied the band's relatively fresh faced status.

Housed in a striking cover that suggested something special indeed, those of us that ventured deeper were delighted to find a well honed record, exploding with melodic hard rock firepower, and one that always kept songs at the forefront of the objective. Originally issued in 1979, tracks such as 'Moonwalk', 'Seventh Heaven' and 'I've Changed' lead the way but it's 'Treat Me Right' that will spark the most recognition as Pat Benatar went on to secure a hit single with it in 1980.
