The very first time Dangerous Curves performed, it was on Live TV where they went down a storm. Fuelled by the positive reaction, the band hit the studio and released their first track, Blow My Whistle which was quickly followed up by the release of their debut self-titled EP in early 2016. The EP received strong radio play and became hot property among venue owners and key industry figures, which led to the band playing countless stages around their home state and into NSW.

At this point, Dokken simply needs no introduction. The band cemented their status as one of the legendary hard rock/heavy metal archetypes of the ‘80s rock scene with numerous successful albums and tours, evergreen songs and music videos and a lore that will live on forever.
In 2016, the classic original line-up Dokken featuring: Don Dokken, George Lynch, Jeff Pilson, and Mick Brown reunited to play the world famous Loud Park Festival in Japan. Fortunately for fans outside of Japan, cameras were there to capture the performance and now Frontiers is set to issue “Return To The East Live (2016)” on April 20th! In addition to the Japanese performance, this set also features footage from the classic lineup’s only US reunion show of 2016 in Sioux Falls, SD at Badlands.
If the release wasn’t amazing enough, the package includes a brand-new studio track, “It’s Just Another Day” and two acoustic re-workings of classic tracks, from the original members!

“Run With the Pack” is ISSA’s fifth studio album, another quality outing of classic Melodic Rock/AOR with huge vocals, layers of keyboards and massive guitars. Reminiscent of bands such as HEART and SARAYA, with a 21st century production and great songwriting and arrangements, this time ISSA goes in a heavier and more rocking direction. "Run With The Pack" also offers a special treat in the form of a duet with Deen Castronovo (Revolution Saints, The Dead Daisies, ex-Journey) on the beautiful song “Sacrifice Me”.
Issa says. “I really can't wait for everybody to hear this album, it's been a real labour of love. This album has taken me back to my roots. The feel of the songs are just what got me into music in the first place. The album has got it all - edgy, dark and full of attitude on one hand, but also the classic larger than life ballads which I love so much. I've been very privileged to sing a duet with Deen Castronovo and there are some really great songwriters who contributed to the record! Busting out of Gothenburg with their 1998 debut album, Superstar gave a respectful nod to the generation of LA rockers who came before them while mixing it up with their current day contemporaries.
The result was It’s Only Rock N’ Roll and it can be confidently called a game changer, giving birth to a whole new hybrid genre.
From there the band delved into the American classic rock sound of the 70’s paying homage to the bands that influenced the bands that influenced them!
Now armed with some vintage rock vibes to add to their thrash/glam arsenal, HCSS became an even greater force to be reckoned with, opening up for AC/DC across Europe.
By the mid 2000’s the band moved slightly away from their core sound and dabbled in some Brit rock and Misfits style punk before circumstances lead to them going on an extended hiatus.
During the break the guys worked on restoring a house that one of them inherited. Blasting out Appetite For Destruction, Dr Feelgood and Among The Living on repeat and with a cheeky grin, they knew what needed to be done.
They went back to their roots and refined their sound to be the bastard child of them all and that’s been the Hardcore Superstar way ever since!
With a their recently released single, Have Mercy On Me, from album number 11, You Can’t Kill My Rock ‘N Rolldue in September this year, Hardcore Superstar in 2018 are as potent as ever.

Chicago, IL: With three decades of storied history, acclaimed singer/songwriter Kevin Lee continues to inspire generations as one of the best big-hook, power pop songwriters in the business. Flanked by his incredible band, The Kings, Lee recently released, Sticks & Stones, on Sigus Records. With an infectious sound of modern pop/rock packed with big guitars, indelible hooks, and soaring vocal harmonies, the songs deliver the kind of car-radio magic that turn winter nights into summer bright. A former MCA recording artist, Lee is a veteran solo artist with arena-sized credentials that include tours with Cheap Trick, REO Speedwagon, Lou Gramm, Matthew Sweet, and Pearl Jam. A bit of a Midwestern supergroup, his latest band, The Kings, includes powerhouse bassist/vocalist Patti Prendergast, who has toured internationally with Bitch and Tough Love, guitarist/vocalist Michael Kurtz, known for his work with Madfox, Bombs Away, and Half Bitten Moon, and drummer Erik Strommer, who made his bones on the East Coast in bands like Broken Arrows and Catfish Hunter. Highly acclaimed guitarist GUS G. is set to release his new album, titled “Fearless”, on April 20th. “Fearless” is the successor to 2015’s “Brand New Revolution” and marks the Firewind mastermind’s first release since exiting Ozzy Osbourne’s band in 2017.
On “Fearless” Gus joins forces with vocalist/bassist Dennis Ward (Pink Cream 69/Unisonic) and drummer Will Hunt (Evanescence, Black Label Society).
“Dennis and I have collaborated very closely for a number years, he produced the current Firewind album Immortals, among other things. We’re on the same musical wavelength and simply continued our cooperation after the Firewind production,” Gus describes his relationship with the multitalented German-American. “I sent him demos of and ideas for my new songs and once we had enough material and started to think about vocalists, Dennis suggested recording the album as a trio. A lot of people don’t realise that Dennis is not only a brilliant songwriter, bassist and producer but also an excellent singer. I immediately liked his suggestion because this would be very different from everything else I’ve done before.” It was only a short step from the enlistment of drummer Will Hunt. Gus: “Will was at the very top of my wish list. Fate smiled on me because we played at the Frankfurt music fair 2017 during my tour with Steve Stevens, and Will stayed at the same hotel. So I approached him, we talked for a while and he agreed. Last August he came to the studio and recorded the drum parts for the whole album within two and a half days. A real pro with a great groove and an awesome punch.”
Which applies not only to Hunt and Ward, but of course also to Gus G. himself, who once again proves to be a phenomenal guitarist on Fearless, presenting technical skills which exclude all possibility of doubt and a compositional talent that allows his fellow musicians to shine. Hard-as-nails metal tracks such as the opener ‘Letting Go’, ‘Mr Manson’, which is driven by a dark bass/guitar riff, and the subsequent melodic ‘Don´t Tread On Me’ immediately propel the new album into the desired direction. At the same time, the three instrumental songs give listeners an idea of the outstanding talent of the 37-year-old who is easily on a par with George Lynch (‘Mr. Scary’) and Michael Schenker (‘Into The Arena’). “A lot of fans have asked me to record more instrumental tracks. Voilà, here they are,” grins Gus. Last but not least, the successful cover version of the Dire Straits classic ‘Money For Nothing’, which surprises with an unusual change of key after the noteworthy intro, deserves a mention. But it’s certainly not the only surprise that this amazing album holds in store!

American Tears is an American keyboard trio that released it's first record, Branded Bad, on Columbia Records in 1974 and it's second, Tear Gas, in 1975. Formed in the fertile musical environment of Long Island, New York, the band was initially made up of Gary Sonny, on bass, Tommy Gunn on drums and Mark Mangold on keys and vocals. For the second record Greg Baze took over the bass duties. The band was a power keyboard trio, using keyboards of the day, Hammond organ, synths, mellotron, clavinet, electronic melodica and playing progressive music which showed the bands stellar musicianship. Eclectic in their approach, their heartfelt music ranged from aggressive keyboard based extravaganzas to beautiful lush melodies circling pop of the day..
The band was fortunate to have toured major venues with such bands as Peter Frampton, J. Geils, Alvin Lee, Gentle Giant, Gary Wright, John McLaughlin and many others. They reached a wide audience and had an impressive show, topped off by Mangold doing handstands on his Hammond. Mark, surrounded by 12 keyboards, Tommy being almost invisible behind a huge battery of drums, with Gary, and later Greg, showing their bass virtuosity in front of a wall of amps, the band stressed musicianship and musicality, while exploring new sounds, and always pushing the envelope.
The third American Tears album, Powerhouse, added the guitarist and singer, Craig Brooks, and the band evolved into the critically acclaimed band Touch...but that is another story.
This fourth American Tears album "Hard Core" heralds the return by Mark to this keyboard based approach, using instruments only available in the 70's when the band made it's first foray. In fact this band may be the only band on the planet playing exclusively keyboard rock. With influences from his earlier work, tipping an occassional hat to ELP, Moody Blues and even Deep Purple, this new album shows the daring, and pure emotion, that can be ripped out of those instruments. American Tears defies the term "generic" as this purely original music, and scathing lyrics, have few if any standards for comparison.
This is FOREIGNER'S 16th Live or Best Of Compilation and their 8th since the last studio album.

Swedish melodic hard rock band REACH, have released a music video for the song ‘Running On Empty‘.
The track is taken from the new album ‘The Great Divine‘, out in Japan on February 21 and globally on February 23, 2018. The album was recorded at Rocksta Sound Studio, produced by Jona Tee (H.E.A.T) and mixed by Tobias Lindell (Europe, Avatar, etc).
James Christian will release his new solo album, "Craving" on April 20. James is best known for being the frontman for melodic rock stalwarts, House of Lords. “Craving” is his fourth solo album, following “Lay It On Me” (2013), “Meet The Man” (2004), and “Rude Awakening” (1995).

Fans were initially introduced to the "God Damn Evil" album title and cover art via social media posts on February 5th, which quickly went viral causing a significant amount of conversation from STRYPER fans.
“We thought long and hard about this title,” says Michael in response to thousands of fan comments. “It was actually considered quite a few years ago and it just didn't feel like the right time. Now, with all the evil in the world that we see around us on a daily basis, it made perfect sense. It's a very bold statement yet a prayer asking God to damn/condemn evil. Nothing more, nothing less."
God Damn Evil is the first release since the recent addition of bass player Perry Richardson, who joins original members Michael Sweet (vocals and guitar), Robert Sweet (drums) and Oz Fox (guitar). Perry is best known as a founding member of the multi-platinum band FireHouse.

Our second interview is with guitarist PAUL DEAN from multi-platinum recording artist LOVERBOY. The band is best known for their iconic mega-hits Working For The Weekend, Lovin' Every Minute Of It & When It's Over. Paul & Mitch discuss the band's history, Canadian artist Bryan Adams, KISS frontman Paul Stanley and the much talked about band's first ever live show - which just happened to be opening for KISS in Vancouver in 1979. Paul also mentions his upcoming solo album.
Away from the music scene for nearly 10 years since the release of the critically and commercially well received third album, ‘Global Warning’, finally another slab of classic British hard rock is on the way.

On lead vocals Burn welcome none other than Steve Newman.
“Steve is well known in the rock community through his numerous solo albums and other projects. He has built up a loyal and devoted following over many years and the consistent quality of his output was something that encouraged us to approach him. Steve was our first choice to lead the new line up, as we view him as possessing one of the very best voices in rock. Burn is the first band that Steve has committed himself to for many years. We are honoured to have him on board and fronting the band.”
The other new member is the ridiculously talented Chris Green who brings his incendiary lead guitar skills to the band.
“Chris is a current member of Tyketto and hard rock fans will remember him from Furyon, Rubicon Cross and Pride, along with various other projects. We really couldn't think of another guitarist who could have done a better job on the new material than Chris. His sense of melody and feel combined with tremendous technique have produced some awe-inspiring solos on this album.”
Burn’s history started in the heyday of melodic rock in the 1980’s, and from that foundation, through Global Warning and now Ice Age, the band has developed into a modern hard rock act. With a multitude of influences and an open-minded view on song writing they push the boundaries of the genre while still retaining the core elements of power and melody.
In closing the band would like to add; “So, here we go. This is a new era for Burn and we are really looking forward to sharing our new stuff with everyone.”

So here we are in the new year with my 4th blog already, and time just flies by when you are doing what you love most. I often refer to the making of a brand new studio album as to the building of a cake. Once you have all the right ingredients in place, you start out with a sold base and then start adding on all the layers until you finally reach the sweet toppings.
Well, that's about where we are right now...
After the Christmas break, I went back into the studio on Friday, December 29th and January 7th to record my background vocals and harmonies. I did the majority of all the backing vocals and harmonies with the exception of a few songs. Bassist Michael Palumbo added some backing vocals to the songs "Falling in Love," "Second Hand Rose," and then squeezed another one in on "Some Time Ago" -- and I do mean squeeze. Between flying back and forth from San Francisco every other week, and for him to reach for those very high notes I had left for him, he definitely needed to squeeze. LOL! Some tunes just called for a little touch of harmony while others got that much bigger 80s chorus effect. Needless to say, all the backing vocals and harmonies worked out quite nicely.
On Saturdays January 13th & 20th we had our secret weapon come in -- aka keyboardist Jeremy Heussi, who is practically a band member, having performed live with us over the years and who has also appeared on the last two MASS studio albums and Christmas EP. Jeremy did his homework and added some great texture and flavor, enhancing these tunes and bringing them to another level. Just the right touch of strings in areas and applying that heavy organ sound ala the late great Jon Lord in areas, just simply rocked!
Next up...
Rough mixes will be sent to our label and then we will have the hard decision as to who will be mixing and mastering. So hopefully in my next and final blog I will have that information for you, plus album artwork and a planned release date.

Although having just turned 15, Cassidy Paris has grown up with music from a very early age. Her dad, a musician himself has taught her the ropes by attending concerts around the world. With influences ranging from the classics such as Pat Benatar, Joan Jett, and Def Leppard to more recent artists like Taylor Swift (lucky enough to meet her idol Taylor Swift at the age of 8 years of age)and Biters, Cassidy Paris is ready to make her own mark on music.

GLENN TIPTON/JUDAS PRIEST DIAGNOSED WITH PARKINSONS
Ten years ago Glenn was diagnosed to have the onset of the early stages of Parkinson's - from then until recently Glenn has lived his life as the great heavy metal guitar player he has always been, maintaining by his own definition a standard of quality and performance that is incredibly important. Right now Glenn is able to play and perform some of the Priest songs that are less challenging but due to the nature of Parkinson's progression he wants to let you all know that he won't be touring as such.
True to the metal spirit of 'the show must go on' Glenn has requested Andy Sneap to fly the flag on stage for him.
"I want everyone to know that it's vital that the Judas Priest tour go ahead and that I am not leaving the band - it's simply that my role has changed. I don't rule out the chance to go on stage as and when I feel able to blast out some Priest! So at some point in the not too distant future I'm really looking forward to seeing all of our wonderful metal maniacs once again."
