JOE PERRY--legendary guitarist, co-founding member, principal songwriter and co-producer of Aerosmith--has cancelled his fall headlining shows as he continues to take some time off following his recent hospital visit. While doctors have released PERRY from care, with the dates set to begin November 30 and going through December 16, the Aerosmith guitarist will now take the rest of the year off. PERRY again would like to apologize to the fans who were planning on coming to the shows and looks forward to seeing them again in 2019. Refunds are available at point of purchase.

Joe Perry update:
 
Following a guest performance during Billy Joel's show last night at Madison Square Garden, Joe Perry experienced shortness of breath and was treated backstage by paramedics who gave the guitarist oxygen and used a tracheal tube to clear his airway before taking him to a hospital. This morning Perry remains in the hospital where he is alert and responsive. The Aerosmith guitarist will be unable to appear today at Rock And Roll Fantasy Camp in Florida and apologizes to those attending. Perry is expected to return to the road later this month.

DECARLO is the band featuring Tommy DeCarlo, best known for having performed with Boston since 2007.
 
The band's lineup includes: Tommy on lead vocals together with his son and guitarist Tommy DeCarlo Jr, drummer Dan Hitz, and bassist Brett Nelson.

Three New Mr. Mister Songs
 
Richard, Steve and Pat are re-recording three songs from the PULL era. These three, Slip Through My Fingers, Wheel of Life and Faith Unbroken, were in contention for the PULL album, but for various reasons they were left off. Richard says, “I always loved something about each one of these songs, but we just couldn’t get them to the point where we were all on board, so they fell by the wayside.” The boys have been busy sending audio files back and forth since they live in different parts of the country.
 
They also brought in Tim Pierce and Luis Conte on guitar and percussion. “It’s been interesting recording this way, where we’re communicating over the Internet rather than being in the studio together. It seems to be working really well”. John Lang, who contributed lyrics to all the Mr albums, is involved as well, tweaking the songs with Richard. Mr. Mister’s fans will surely be excited to hear these ‘lost gems’. A release date hasn’t been confirmed, but keep an eye out for it.

Right now this is slated as a Japanese exclusive release, but H.E.A.T. and their Japanese label will release a 2-disc compilation Decmber 19.

US heavy/power metal band REVERENCE have changed the cover artwork for the release of their new live album entitled ‘VENGEANCE IS LIVE’. It's the brand new 15 song platter to bee delivered to the masses on December 7th, 2018 via ROAR! Rock Of Angels Records.

Swedish traditional heavy metal band, MEAN STREAK, featuring (former) members of THE NIGHT FLIGHT ORCHESTRA, AXIA, have signed a multi-album deal with European label ROAR! Rock Of Angels Records. MEAN STREAK is right now in the studio to record their fifth, yet untitled studio album for a release in early 2019.
Bassist Peter Andersson states: "We are very happy that the collaboration with ROAR Records continues. This time with a newly signed multi-album deal and twelve new strong songs in the making. Together with ROAR we hope to take Mean Streak to the next level."

Like many other music artists before, Cornerstone get the opportunity to act in a movie: Bassplayer/Keyboarder Michael Wachelhofer will play a (little) role as a department manager in the British drama LITTLE JOE, which will hit the European cinemas next year. The english actor BEN WHISHAW, famous for his starring in PERFUME (Patrick Suesskind) and for his role as Q in the last two JAMES BOND movies, will be the star in this drama. Beside that Cornerstone is already planning the next year's music schedule. There will also be a bigger tour, more details to be announced!

‘October In New York’ is a slow crooner of a song – a very authentic jazz/40s pop crooner complete with a stripped back jazz-ballad arrangement with orchestration and a simple piano to accompany. Not huge on this one – but the musical style is not my bag generally speaking.
 
‘Angel Eyes’ lifts the tempo a little – mid-range for this track, which quite honestly could have come straight off Street Talk. Gracious, this one should have been on all editions! A wonderful breezy tune with lots of Motown influences and the same feel as ‘I Believe’ and ‘Go Away’. The vocal is quite marvellous.
 
‘Call On Me’ takes on the third different style in 3 songs. Almost as if Steve has left the more adventurous tracks for the special edition. This one has another familiar feel to it, using a mid-tempo reggae beat in the same way as Steve has done before, with his soulful vocals just dripping over the instrumentation. Another fine vocal it must be said and another likeable song. I would have used this on the regular edition.
 
‘Could We Be Somethin’ Again’ is yet another left turn – a slow to mid-tempo pop/soul track with a tidy little beat and another warm vocal. Good song, but definitely a bonus track kinda tune.
 
The 3 minute ‘Blue Jays Fly’ is the 5th song with the 5th different style. Not sure how to describe this one. A softly sung vocal over sparse instrumentation – it’s almost in a meditative or lullaby state that doesn’t feature a lot of vocals. It closes out things nicely, but not one I’d choose for the main set of songs.
 
More songs are always welcomed – there’s a couple of great tunes here that could easily have been part of the main release. The other 3 make for likable bonus tracks and take Steve’s overdue comeback album to a better length.
My original review and rating remain intact.

Cyhra have digitally released the single “Forever,” which was previously only available on the Japanese edition of their debut album Letters to Myself. The album is out now via Spinefarm Records. The band is currently recording the follow up at Hansen Studios in Ribe, Denmark with producer Jacob Hansen. The album will be released in the first half of 2019.

“This song is an interesting collaboration between many different songwriters,” said singer Jake E. “The song was first written by Grammy Award nominated songwriter/artist Randy Goodrum —previous work includes Toto, Steve Perry, Michael Bolton, Chicago, Diztord, and more.”
He continued, “When I first heard the demo of the song, I begged on my knees to get approval to make my own version. Luckily, it was approved and we got free hands in Cyhra to contribute and make our version of it. It ended up as the Japanese bonus track for Letters to Myself and I’m happy to have it released to the rest of the world as it’s an amazing song.”
Regarding the forthcoming sophomore album, he said, “The whole process has been smooth and I can reveal that it will have more fierce songs, as well as more riff-oriented material than the first album. I can’t wait to hear the final results after Jacob Hansen has worked his magic mixing it. And I can’t wait for you to hear it, too!”
Guitarist Euge Valovirta added, “‘Forever’ is such a great track and I actually would’ve liked to have seen it on the album originally. But it didn’t find its place so we decided to put it on the Japanese edition of Letters to Myself as a bonus track. Now, finally, it’s available for the whole world to enjoy!”
