It’s OURS! I’m here to ask you to elect me to take it back!!

Twenty or so boxes from my mate JB’s (RIP) amazing collection have been catalogued so far. The remaining boxes will most likely be added straight to Discogs (will keep everyone informed) one at a time.
 
The titles on this list will be added there also, but you get first look.
 
There are titles from several genres, with classic rock and metal the dominant of course.
 
Please note – the records listed haven’t been graded here, but I have seen all of them and by and large, the vast majority are near mint or close, but the odd one here and there had a notable exception. After wants are emailed in, I will pull the record out and verify conditions etc…
 
There are a number of the oldest titles have a small band of clear tape along the open spine (obviously added at the time for protection), I will also advise if that applies.

From Andre Matos' official Facebook page comes this terribly sad news, the former Angra vocalist has died from a heart attack at just age 47.
 
"It is with deep regret that we confirm the passing of André This Saturday morning due to a heart stop.
 
As many know, he was an extremely reserved person - and manifested in life, for more than once, the desire not to have a wake.
 
Respecting His will, he will be cremated today with the presence only of relatives.
 
We thank everyone for understanding and we count on you so that André's memory and legacy remain alive forever.

Holiday rock ensemble the WIZARDS OF WINTER – featuring former members of the Trans-Siberian Orchestra, Rainbow and the bands of Alice Cooper and Ted Nugent – are thrilled to add another world class member to their talented midst! New studio album by the french Hard Rock band BLACKRAIN has been announced for September 2019
 
For, having formed in 2006 in the French Alps and with five albums under their belts, countless concerts in France, Europe and even Japan and Tunisia, BlackRain know for a fact this forthcoming year is undoubtedly one more step in their career. During many years spent learning the tortuous ways of Rock 'n' Roll, the band met a lot of great bands like Europe, Papa Roach, Alice Cooper, Scorpions, Steel Panther, Ugly Kid Joe with whom they played. “France’s got Talent” national TV show allowed them to delivered memorable live performances to an audience of several million that made a French hard rock band famous in France for the first and the last time in the history of the show.
 
But after two albums produced by big US producer Jack Douglas (Aerosmith, John Lennon), how could the band reach a bigger level? How to find more inspiration? Maybe by coming back to the roots of what made four friends playing in a band together, by simply composing songs they would love to hear today on the radio: catchy and heady hard rock hits. You can maybe call it out-of-date, but BlackRain call it the gasoline they need to travel in today’s world.
 
Composed and recorded in Sweden where Swan, the frontman, is permanently settled, this new album called “Dying Breed” is like a response to the way the music world goes. Surrounded by electro music and RnB, struck by the death of many of their idols that made the rock history, asked by people why they still wear this old-fashioned long hair, the four guys more and more felt like a dying breed, “the last of their kind” as it is said in the new song they unveil on June 06th before they hit the mainstage of Hellfest in France.
 
Of prime importance was to work again with Swedish producer Chris Laney, the guy that made “License to Thrill”. This BlackRain album is still considered by many fans as a mythical and a major piece in the revival hard-rock scene that appeared in the 2010’s. He is the man that has really understood the sound and the spirit of BlackRain as he produced masterpieces of this scene with Crashdïetor Crazy Lixx...
 
To be released September 13th by german label SPV/Steamhammer, the new album “Dying Breed” will be followed by a European tour with their friends from Kissin’ Dynamite.

Formed in 1980, Tank has often been compared to British brothers Motörhead - both being trios, fronted by singing bassists, with a loose, grinding, punk-metal sound and gravelly vocals.

Eric Moore, the lead singer of local hard rock band, The Godz, died Friday. He was 67.
 
According to a statement from the band, Moore had been battling bladder cancer and died the day before the band’s annual Godzfest event in Zanesville. The performance was set to be Moore’s last.
 
In a statement, The Godz management team said Moore was known for being a “beer-drinking, pistol carrying, blue collar rock-n-roller and the leader of the Godz fans worldwide.”
“Eric Moore was the lead singer of the Godz (sic) here on earth and he has now embarked on a triumphant return to the one and only God in heaven,” the statement said.
Moore had announced his diagnosis with Stage 4 bladder cancer in April and had planned on doing several performances to thank his fans, culminating in the show scheduled for Saturday at The Barn in Zanesville.
 
The Barn said in a social media posting the event would go on with memories being shared of Moore and The Godz.

Greek power metal icons FIREWIND, the band of former Ozzy Osbourne guitarist GUS G., have signed a worldwide record deal with German metal label AFM Records. The collaboration between the band and AFM already started with the latest FIREWIND album “Immortals”, which AFM released in the North American territory back then.
 
Subsequently, GUS G. signed with AFM to also release his solo albums together, and now we are happy to announce that also FIREWIND’s future albums will be released worldwide by AFM.
 
Gus G. (who by the way, is the Greek spokesperson for this year’s Eurovision Song Contest) states:
 
“After working together with AFM Records on my latest solo album "Fearless" and seeing the great results that were achieved, the passion and care they put into the project, it felt natural to extend our partnership and bring Firewind under the same roof. This is something I'm very excited about and I'm also happy to announce that we're already working on the follow up of "Immortals". We plan to enter the studio after our Summer tour with Queensryche wraps up in August. Stay tuned for further announcements!“

Glenn Hughes re-schedules four dates of his ‘Performs Classic Deep Purple Live' May 2019 UK tour dates. The re-scheduled dates are:
 
Salisbury City Hall Sunday 17 November
Norwich Waterfront (venue change from Norwich UEA) Wednesday 20th November
Holmfirth Picturedrome Saturday 23rd November
Birmingham O2 Institute  Friday 29th November

Refunds for customers who've purchased tickets for the above can be made available until Monday 27th May should they no longer wish to or are unable to attend the rescheduled November dates.
 
The re-scheduled concerts follow the news of Glenn Hughes needing to cancel his May 2019 UK tour dates due to illness. He needs to be treated for an illness that while not life threatening, must be dealt with immediately so that does not become a serious problem. He is expected to make a full recovery.
 
The shows for Edinburgh, St Albans, Liverpool and Nottingham had to be cancelled. Customers for the cancelled shows have been asked to return to their original point of purchase to request refunds
 
The former bassist and singer of Deep Purple, known to millions as the ‘Voice of Rock’, Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee, and the current front man for rock super group Black Country Communion, was scheduled to kick off the second leg of his ‘Glenn Hughes Performs Classic Deep Purple’ UK Tour at the Holmfirth Picturedrome on Tuesday 14th May. Initially active between 2002 - 2009, Crash Kelly released two critically acclaimed cult classics, 'Penny Pills' and 'Electric Satisfaction' via Century Media’s rock n roll imprint Liquor and Poker Music, followed by a third album, 'One More Heart Attack' via Opening Day/Universal Music. All three albums were released in Japan via Spiritual Beast/Universal, and a European “Best Of” compilation, 'Love You Electric', was released via the Bad Reputation, earning the band an 8/10 full page review in Classic Rock Magazine. The decade that Sean spent away from Crash Kelly saw him become a highly in demand guitarist, songwriter, producer and collaborator. He has toured the world and recorded with a number of multi platinum acts including Nelly Furtado, Helix, Lee Aaron, Coney Hatch, Honeymoon Suite, Gilby Clarke, Alan Frew (Glass Tiger) Carole Pope/Rough Trade, Harlequin, Trapper, Howie D, Doc Walker and many more. He has recorded four classical guitar albums, two of which charted in the US Billboard Top 10.  In 2015, Sean was cast to star alongside Twisted Sister lead singer Dee Snider and Taylor Dayne in Dee Snider’s Rock N Roll Christmas Tale, which ran  during the Holiday Season at Toronto’s famed Winter Garden Theatre and played to over 20,000 people.
 
Sean is also the author of the Amazon chart-topping book Metal On Ice: Tales from Canada’s Hard Rock and Heavy Metal Heroes (Dundurn Press), and is a sought after guitar clinician and music educator. He currently teaches Music with the Toronto Catholic District School Board.
 
With the new single "Touch Me", Sean returns to his glam rocking roots. Musical support comes from Dave Reimer on bass and Tim Timleck on drums. This is the first release for Canadian Shield Music, a new imprint formed by Kelly and Gryner to bring 70s and 80s influenced hard rock to a very specific audience who longs for the days of glossy rock magazines, fully stocked record store shelves, loud guitars and big hooks.

The sounds of ‘80s metal and shred are on full display throughout the debut full-length by guitarist Duane Morano. Entitled ‘Incognito,’ the 13-track album will be released on Friday, May 17, 2019 (and can be pre-ordered via https://morano.hearnow.com/), also features input from some very well-known/respected names within the rock and metal worlds.
 
“Morano doesn't really have any members,” explains the band leader. “It's a bunch of revolving people based on who's available. The main lineup on this record are Michael Foster, Pat Badger, Danny Vaughn, Terry Ilous, Bryan Cole, Keith Horne, Dan Michaels, Chris Lester, JK Northrup, with other guests such as Nita Strauss, Shane French, Kevin Figueiredo, and Eric Clemenzi playing on a track or two.”
 
“I wanted my first record to be about the music that inspired me to play. I've played everything from 50's doo wop to country to modern pop as a hired gun over the years, but the 80's was where music really began for me, so I wanted to celebrate that.” And celebrate it he does, as such standout tracks as “After the Love,” “Face the Fire,” and “Don’t Believe You” bring to mind the sounds and stylings of some of Morano’s top influences, including Van Halen, Def Leppard, Journey, and Night Ranger.
 
But the talented Morano didn’t just appear out of nowhere. “Back in 1991 Dan Michaels and I were in a band together called Shattered Image. We were in the studio recording a 4 song demo to submit to labels when one of the tracks, ‘Manhattan,’ became a favorite of local Tampa Bay radio DJ Austin Keys after hearing us play the song at a local club. We gave him the demo and he put the song into rotation on 98 Rock. From there, It spiraled to several other stations in the southeast but the face of music changed less than a year later and so were the hopes to release a record.”
 
Times have changed, however, and Morano (whose 30-instrument strong collection is includes his main axe, which is a 1987 Ibanez RG570) looks to take full advantage of the ‘80s metal resurgence. “I think this genre continues to be popular due to the underlying energy in the music. It's happy sounding and there's an organic quality to it. You didn't have the amp simulators, auto tune, and the ability to time slip musical performances to make them artificially tight. The human element of the player got lost.”
 
And as evidenced by the arrival of Duane Morano’s ‘Incognito’ - and with possible live work on the horizon - the genre is most certainly alive and well.

SECOND ALBUM DUE IN 2020 FEATURES VOCALIST TED POLEY & GUITARIST STEVE BROWN
 
Tokyo Motor Fist, the band featuring Danger Danger vocalist Ted Poley and Trixter guitarist Steve Brown, have announced that they have signed with Frontiers Music Srl for a follow-up album to their 2017 self-titled debut. The release is expected sometime in 2020.
 
Guitarist and producer Steve Brown says, “Rejoice FISTonians worldwide! My lion’s of the melodic rock world, Tokyo Motor Fist, have re-signed with the legendary Frontiers and are about to begin recording our second album!
