HAIR I GO AGAIN Doco Pre-order and Soundtrack Details

Categories:
News Feed

Hair I Go Again, a documentary about the determinations, triumphs and failures of a former hair band chasing their dreams, has announced an all-star lineup of 80's recording artists to be featured in the film's score.

Along with rock stalwarts Nova Rex, Tuff, Julliet and up-and-comers Kickin Valentina, the film's producers have partnered with Nashville based re-issue label FNA Records to include several songs as part of the movie's soundtrack. Featured FNA artists include Roxx Gang, Femme Fatale, Dirty Looks and Roxy Blue among many others. The soundtrack also introduces original tracks by neo-guitar hero Xander Demos and Denver rock/metal hybrid, Bullet In The Chamber.

The year was 1985. Thousands of miles away from the sonic debauchery of the Sunset Strip, two teenage friends shared aspirations of glam rock grandeur. Freshly permed and taking a page straight out of Hit Parader, a hungry, determined band was born. Fame and fortune, however, remained out of reach and the group unceremoniously imploded...probably over some chick.

Fast forward thirty years.

Facing a mid-life crossroads, Kyle Kruger and Steve McClure set out on an improbable journey in order to fulfill their dreams of achieving rock & roll stardom. With credit cards maxed out and the 401K cashed in, the pair risk everything in hopes of reclaiming the magic they had as a band over a quarter century ago.

It's a story about a lifelong friendship, insurmountable odds and dealing with the always present thought of 'what if'? It's a tale of rediscovery, determination, triumphs and failures.

Because first and last chances happen only once.

Featuring candid interviews with some of the most influential musicians and industry professionals in the business, including Eddie Trunk (That Metal Show), Jeff Keith and Frank Hannon (Tesla), Ron Keel (KEEL), Steve Blaze (Lillian Axe), Frank Bello and Joey Belladonna (Anthrax), Les Warner (The Cult), as well as members of Kix, Stryper, Queensryche, Quiet Riot, Warrant, Motorhead, LA Guns and more.

Meat Loaf has declared his new studio album 'Braver Than We Are' complete and announced it would be released September 9 in Europe and September 16 in North America.

Here's what the rock legend had to say: "THE ALBUM IS FINISHED. IT WILL BE OUT SEPT 9TH EUROPE . SEPT 16TH NORTH AMERICA. THERE WILL BE IN STORES BEFORE THE RELEASE. WITH WATER MARKED COPIES THAT CAN'T BE COPIED. I CAN'T DESCRIBE THE RECORD IN WORDS. AFTER YOU HAVE IT, IT BELONGS TO YOU. IT WILL BE YOUR INTERRUPTION. IT IS A JIM STEINMAN AND MEAT LOAF RECORD. WITH GREAT PRODUCTION BY PAUL CROOK. WHAT'S IT CALLED "BRAVER THAN WE ARE"

In answering a few fan questions, Meat added this about long time collaborator JIM STEINMEN's involvement: "Jim was involved everyday , Everything that was recorded was sent to him and we got his input the next day . Jim was not able to travel . So he was plugged in through the internet. Every mix was approved and all his notes were done. Jim is very Happy with what all 3 of us have done. So don't think for a min. Jim was not a major influence.in the making of this album..." and "This album nothing like Bat, but still great and unexpected."

Stay tuned for news when available.

Double Stop Podcast - MICHAEL THOMPSON

Tuesday, December 16, 2014
Categories:
Podcasts & Radio

In Episode 90 and 91 of The Double Stop, Brian is joined by guitarist Michael Thompson (Michael Thompson Band, Animal Logic, Michael Jackson, Madonna, Shania Twain).

Michael Thompson discusses his life and career, and explains how he became one of the most sought-after session guitarists of the last twenty-five years. A small sample of his sessions includes Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston, Celine Dion, 'N Sync, Toni Braxton, Phil Collins, Rod Stewart, Christina Aguilera, Michael Bolton, Mariah Carey, Bette Midler, Madonna, Animal Logic with Stewart Copeland and Stanley Clarke and Shania Twain. And producers such as Mutt Lange, Quincey Jones, Babyface, and David Foster. In part one we go through his personal history, and in part two we talk about specific sessions.

On working with Mutt Lange (with Shania Twain), and the grueling hours - part 2 58:30 "He make it great because he's not busting your ass. He's trying to get the great performance - that's his whole thing. He's not looking for you to play it correctly, he's looking for you to play it with what he calls "The Grease" on it. "

On working with Madonna Part 2 41:00 "She was sitting like two feet behind me, commentating on every note I played. And not in a great way. 'Oh no, I don't like that. That's ok. No. No.' So I just had to survive it."

On working with Michael Jackson (on The Earth Song) Part 2 44:45 "They had the lighting really low in the studio and we were working on the tune for an hour or so. And I'm doing a part, and I'm looking down. And I realize that Michael's come in and sat down right next to me while I was playing... Originally they wanted Michael Clapton to play on that, but he was either on tour, or busy or something."

Magnum are one of my favourite bands of all time. I’ve been a lot harder on their post-reformation releases as I felt they just didn’t stack up against the classic era albums. I struggle to listen to Breath of Life or Brand New Morning at all these days, but Princess Alice and the Broken Arrow was more impressive. Since then it’s been a general progression up the scale. On The 13th Day I gave a 95 and Escape From The Shadow Garden a 96. I even gave The Visitation a 93, showing that in my mind, the band has been getting better with each release. But that march stops here.

I’ve had this album 3 months now. It’s been played over and over and over again and my emotions have changed several times throughout that time.
I’m only now comfortable to review the new album in detail. I’ve struggled with it and I’ve played it so much I began to like some elements I didn’t previously. But now the dust has settled and I can look at this objectively – as someone who grew up on Storytellers, Vigilante, Wings Of Heaven and on…

On its own, there’s a lot to like. But the reality is that I’ve heard it all before. And I think I’ve come to the decision I’ve had enough of this style.
The beauty of classic Magnum was that you never really knew what Tony Clarkin would serve up next. Every album had its own sound, its own feel and its own tempo.
That changed when the band reformed. On each album since, it has been a pretty consistent and continual hard edged delivery each time.
Each album has offered hints of the past as Tony delved into some classic sounds or Mark Stanway had greater influence over the song structure, but still nothing has come close to the perfection that is 85-92 Magnum.

The other problem with the band’s current day albums is that all too familiar slow plodding pace that the guys rarely break out of. That's the biggest issue I have and am totally over.
Of the 10 main tracks on Sacred Blood Divine Lies, there are only 2 that go beyond second gear and the sequence of tracks is again done in a way to prevent the album from getting rolling.
There are some definite positives here – Bob is singing better than on the last couple and the production quality is probably the best of the recent albums.

The near 7 minute opener Sacred Blood "Divine" Lies has that same crunchy guitar riff magnum fans know and some impressive Bob Catley vocals and a chorus that appeals pretty quickly. I like that Mark Stanway stamps his authority on this track with some classic keyboards.
Unfortunately Crazy Old Mothers heads straight into the plods. I really don’t like slow moving tracks so quickly after a momentum building opening.
But if we do have to have a slow, heavy plodder here, this track is one of the better ones of its style. It has a gritty, guitar heavy chorus that’s short but effective.

The opening minute to Gypsy Queen would suggest we might be heading back to classic 80s Magnum. It’s slow but I’m anticipating something big. Unfortunately no, it doesn’t head that way at all. I’m still not sold on this track as the structure is all too familiar – slow verse, heavier mid-tempo chorus and repeat.
Princess in Rags (The Cult) is thankfully a big lift in tempo as the band gets out of second gear to deliver another familiar sounding tune (slow verse again, but the mood suits the song) that rocks along at a good pace and a chorus that stands out as one of the better ones on offer.

Your Dreams Won't Die is a long pleasant sentimental ballad, but steers the album straight back into ‘go slow’ and I’m not really connecting with this song over some of the band’s better ballads. And let’s face it – Magnum has some of the most epic and brilliant ballads of any band, any time.
I’m beginning to get really frustrated about now. I really don’t like the ultra-slow plod of the go nowhere track Afraid of the Night. I just want the band to speed up a little and deliver some huge choruses like the old days. This track is really pedestrian and sounds way too similar to I Didn’t Like You Anyway.
A Forgotten Conversation is once again slow of course, but I do like Catley’s vocal intro and the orchestration adds a bit of texture. The pace doubles for the chorus, but that still puts it at mind-tempo at best and the chorus isn’t that memorable.

Quiet Rhapsody gives the illusion of rocking harder and faster only because the rest of the album is so slow. I do like the riff on offer and the chorus is marginally more effective than some others.
Twelve Men Wise and Just features another slow start, but picks up pace as it goes and evolves into one of the faster and better tracks and should in my opinion been moved up to second place in the sequence. A fine Catley vocal impresses.
The semi-acoustic driven Don't Cry Baby uses the same formula as half the album before it – slow intro, faster chorus. It swaps back and forth a few times. There’s no real chorus again, but the mood of the song and Bob’s vocals make it worthwhile.

The Digipak edition offers three additional tracks. But each of the 3 is embedded within the second DVD disc. I don’t get that at all. That’s making it hard for fans to appreciate the tunes in places only digital or CDs go.

Phantom Of Paradise Circus is more varied than anything Magnum have delivered in a while. The tempo moves along too, making you wonder why it isn’t part of the main album. No stand out chorus as such, but a decent track.
Don’t Give Up is yet another pretty fast moving rocker, which is a blessing to hear. This is more Rock Art styled Magnum, with fast riff and a good beat and a solid chorus.
No God Or Saviour is a moody rocker that starts slow (again), but the change of pace with the chorus and the accompanying guitar riff again offers more diversity and originality than the album’s main block of tracks. Puzzling as to why it’s not part of the official album.

Don’t Give Up and No God Or Saviour should have made the full album and I would have dropped Afraid Of The Night and maybe even Forgotten Conversation, not to mention shuffling the sequencing around once again.

My love of Magnum remains and always will, but I think this album is a step backwards after the best album post-reformation – Escape From The Shadow Garden. Make that three steps back, as I rate this behind Thirteenth Day and Visitation too.

On its own, Sacred Blood is probably better than I’ve marked, but I’m feeling it is just too similar to what has come before it. It’s the same Magnum mid-to-slow-tempo pace, it’s the same restrained choruses that lack the intensity, the passion and the pomp glory of tracks like Days Of No Trust, Maybe Tonight, On A Storytellers Night, When The World Comes Down, Heartbroke And Busted et all.

I just want my old Magnum back. Or at least I want the new Magnum to pick up the damn pace already and deliver some of those anthemic singalong choruses we know and love. I reallt think the guys could use an outside producer to help - I know they have a true masterpiece left in them.

MELODICROCKFEST Australia; Mitch Malloy Pulls Out

Release Year:
2015
Categories:
Tour News

It is with great regret that I must announce the withdrawal of MITCH MALLOY from MelodicRock Fest Australia.

Mitch was really looking forward to making his Australian debut with his backing band Kaato, but an increasingly packed production schedule in Nashville and ongoing recording of a new solo album ahead of Mitch’s UK tour have forced him to have to pull out of this event.

Mitch sends his apologies to Aussie fans.

In light of the short time frame between now and the event, an international guest is unlikely to be able to replace Mitch, rather each band on the day will play longer sets. I know Paul Laine’s happy to get more time and BB Steal will be taking as much time as they like to run through their classic debut and some Boss tracks.

Further information on an addition to the Friday lineup (in place of Kaato) will be announced shortly.

MelodicRock Fest takes place May 13/14, 2016 at the Elephant & Wheelbarrow, St. Kilda.

Full details and tickets available at: www.melodicrockfest.com

After 4 successful events in the USA, Australian website and record label MelodicRock.com is bringing the popular MelodicRockFest event home.
MelodicRockFest Australia will make its local debut in Melbourne on May 13 and 14, 2016 at the Elephant & Wheelbarrow in St. Kilda.

International Headline acts Eclipse (Sweden) and Paul Laine (Canada)(ex-Danger Danger) will be joined by Australia’s brightest rock talent, including BB Steal, Black Majesty, Vanishing Point and The Radio Sun.

For nearly 20 years now, MelodicRock.com has been covering the movements of the best melodic and hard rock acts from all over the world. From chart topping stadium fillers to independent studio projects, the site covers all the legends of the rock world, while placing a strong emphasis on new and upcoming artists plus the labels and people behind them.

MelodicRockFest takes that same attitude and brings it into a live setting. Mirroring the USA event's vision, MelodicRockFest Australia will exclusively showcase some of the best international melodic rock acts, some making their Australian debut, with support from some of the best local rock acts rounding out the line-up.

This is a festival demanded by the loyal local fans. It’s a one of a kind. It’s small, it’s intimate and it’s for those that recall the glory days of Adult Orientated Rock.

Appearing at MelodicRockFest is:

Saturday May 14 (Headline Day)

ECLIPSE (Sweden)
Eclipse are one of Sweden’s premiere melodic hard rock acts. They boast a strong following across all of Europe and are sought after session musicians when not touring. In 2015 the band released their critically acclaimed 5th studio album ‘Armageddonize’ and just recently were invited to participate in the Swedish heats for the 2016 Eurovision Song Contest.
This will be the band’s first trip down under and they plan on making the most of it by delivering a blistering set that won’t be soon forgotten.

ERIK GRONWALL (Sweden)(Special Guest)
Erik is the energetic frontman for one of Europe’s most in-demand rock bands, H.E.A.T. The band will be looking to hit Australia next tour, but for now, their popular frontman is making his own way down under to sample some local brews, hang out with fans and join Eclipse on stage for an extended encore that is sure to bring the house down!
Erik will also deliver an exclusive acoustic set for VIP ticket holders on the Friday afternoon.

PAUL LAINE (Canada)
Paul Laine has a career spanning over 25 years, starting off in the Vancouver rock scene, before signing with Elektra Records for his major label debut ‘Stick It In Your Ear’, an album produced by the legendary Bruce Fairbairn. In 1995 Paul joined American rock band Danger Danger as their new frontman for a 4 album run. His other projects include Shugaazer and Andersen Readman Laine, plus his currently touring country rock band Dark Horse.
Paul will perform a true best of set, featuring favourites from Danger Danger as well as all aspects of his career. This will be Paul’s second trip down under.

BB STEAL (Adelaide)
BB Steal are legends of the Australian melodic rock scene. Their major label debut was produced by Def Leppard’s Phil Collen and the band has often been touted as the “new” Def Leppard due to their layered, anthemic sound.
This will be their first Melbourne show in many years and will also feature permanent member, vocalist Craig Csongrady and the return of original guitarist Kevin Pratt! Expect the band to deliver a set heavy with tracks from their cult debut album as well as a few from 2013’s comeback album ‘Resurrection’.

WHITE WIDDOW (Melbourne)
White Widdow are the torch bearers for the classic 80s keyboard driven AOR sound here in Australia. The band are regulars on the Melbourne rock circuit and will deliver a set featuring tracks from their first three albums and their soon to be recorded fourth studio opus.

THE RADIO SUN (Melbourne)
The Radio Sun are fast becoming Australia’s harmony kings, with two highly acclaimed albums now available, both filled with classic harmony driven AOR. The guys have also doubled as Paul Laine’s backing band for the last few years, appearing with him at events in USA as well as here in Australia. Expect a great set of song from the two albums and a few surprises too.

SERPENTINE SKY (Melbourne)
Releasing their debut album 20 years after originally forming, Serpentine Sky are looking to make up for lost time and will blow fans away with their energy and the highly addictive songs from their recently released debut.

TEARGAS (Melbourne)
Teargas are back together after a 10 year hiatus. Last seen acting as Jeff Scott Soto’s support act for his 2004 OZ tour, the Melbourne lads are ready to kick it back into high gear and will open the main day with the energy of a headliner.

Friday May 13:

VANISHING POINT (Melbourne)
Melbourne’s own melodic metal heroes are excited to take part in this event. Without doubt, the heaviest band of the festival, but for this occasion the guys are going to delve into their back catalogue for some more melodic numbers alongside their most epic tracks.

TONK (Canberra)
Tonk take the hard rock back to the glory days of the American Sunset Strip. They have a groove and an attitude Guns N Roses would be proud of. Another rarity to have the band playing in Melbourne.

PAUL LAINE (Acoustic Set)
A completely different set of solo and Danger Danger tracks to blow fans away.

BLACK MAJESTY (Exclusive Acoustic Set)
An Australian exclusive! The Black Majesty guys have never played an acoustic set in their home country, so expect them to deliver something very special.

THE RADIO SUN (Acoustic Set)
Kicking off the event is one of the hardest working bands this weekend. The band will be promoting their upcoming acoustic project.

LEE AARON Returns With 'Fire And Gasoline' March 25

Artist:
Saturday, March 26, 2016
Categories:
News Feed

On March 25th, 2016, multi-platinum Canadian rock artist Lee Aaron returns with her hotly anticipated new rock album, Fire and Gasoline.

Ever timeless, seemingly ageless, and artistically fearless, Lee Aaron has sustained a three-decade strong career based on the powerful songwriting and vocal delivery that are at the heart of Fire and Gasoline (Big Sister Records/ILS/Caroline). Featuring songs like the title track Fire and Gasoline, Wanna Be, Heart Fix and Bitter Sweet which evoke the influences of Led Zeppelin, Heart, Bowie, The Runaways and Fleetwood Mac while weaving in and out of Aaron’s unique artistic vision. It is a vision that has led her to sales of close to a million copies in Canada alone, multiple awards and nominations, and a fervent following around the world. Iconic videos for songs like Metal Queen, Whatcha Do To My Body, Hands On and Some Girls Do were staples of MuchMusic in Canada, and continue to rack up massive views on YouTube, bringing Lee Aaron classics to a new generation.

Fire and Gasoline was recorded at Vancouver’s The Farm studio (better known to rock aficionados by its former name, Little Mountain Sound) with acclaimed west coast engineers Ben Kaplan (Mother Mother, Hedley) and vocal engineer/keyboard guru John Webster (Bon Jovi, Aerosmith, The Cult). Their Gold- and Platinum-certified ears give Fire and Gasoline a contemporary sonic sheen while also honouring the energy of the “off the floor” approach of real musicians interacting in real time.

The album is available for pre-order now, here: http://tinyurl.com/je4qzgk

Tom Boy, the first video and single, was penned for Aaron’s daughter and was inspired by the fearless, unself-conscious energy of pre-teen girls. The video features Aaron’s daughter (on guitar) along with her school friends as Aaron’s backing band. “It was incredibly cool watching the girls pick up the song as well as the instruments in an afternoon and give the performance they did. Off camera, we were all eating pizza and clowning around and that joy translated onto the screen. It really captures the essence of the tune.” Lee, a fan of vintage film and video, wanted the girls to have that ‘Jailhouse Rock’ look.

You can view the video here:

Fire and Gasoline is truly a classic rock n’ roll album, with an emphasis on “class”.

This summer Lee Aaron will be performing to crowds of thousands at major music festivals across Canada, and is looking towards select live dates in Europe as well.

SUNSTORM Storm Back With 'Edge Of Tomorrow' May 13

Artist:
Friday, May 13, 2016
Categories:
News Feed

Frontiers Music Srl is pleased to announce the release of SUNSTORM's fourth album entitled 'Edge of Tomorrow' on May 13th, 2016.

SUNSTORM is Joe Lynn Turner's succesful AOR / Melodic Rock project, something that came about for the first time in 2006 when Frontiers President Serafino Perugino wanted to dig up some unreleased gems that JLT wrote during the late 80's and early 90's.

The very good reviews and acclaim which surrounded the debut self-titled release was the fuel that ignited three more records, until the project was momentarily shelved when Joe started working on the RATED X supergroup with Tony Franklin and Carmine Appice.

After the release of the RATED X album, Joe wanted to go back to the more melodic material of SUNSTORM, but also wanted to retain some of the harder edge which the RATED X album had. So he asked producer and songwriter Alessandro Del Vecchio (Hardline, Edge of Forever) to come up with some new songs in that vein. Del Vecchio joined forces with Simone Mularoni, guitar player of Italian prog metallers DGM. Together they developed songs which were exactly what Joe wanted, so it was a natural process to move forward and record another SUNSTORM album. As usual, other songwriters, such as Soren Kronqvist and Daniel Palmqvist completed the array of individuals involved.

Joe Lynn Turner says: 'This new Sunstorm album is the best of the series! We went harder... stronger... and heavier than ever before without losing the integrity of what the project is about...I call it Melodic Metal! The songs are very well crafted, the messages are profound, the performances amazing..and the sound is incredible! All involved can be very proud of such a great music. I urge anyone who loves great music to check out "Edge of Tomorrow", you won't be disappointed!'

The resulting album shows a slightly new direction for SUNSTORM, which still features organic and very strong melodies as a trademark. Enjoy!

'Edge of Tomorrow' includes the following songs: Don't Walk Away From A Goodbye; Edge Of Tomorrow; Nothing Left To Say; Heart Of The Storm; The Sound Of Goodbye; The Darkness Of This Dawn; You Hold Me Down; Angel Eyes; Everything You've Got; Tangled In Blue; Burning Fire.

As they prepare to re-launch the North American leg of "THE WHO HITS 50! TOUR" Saturday, February 27 in Detroit, THE WHO returned to the stage Saturday, February 13 at SSE Arena, Wembley for their first show since the tourwas postponed in September (2015).That performance was described by The Telegraph (U.K.) as "high-voltage virtuosity...The Who were in full flight...America's in for a treat. As these grizzled septuagenarians milked the ovation for their feats of rockin' physicality like punch-drunk boxers, there were no hard-and-fast goodbyes" (2-14).

When THE WHO take the stage in Detroit, it will mark the beginning of a 28-date tour of rescheduled dates from THE WHO's 2015 trek--which was postponed to allow lead singer Roger Daltrey time to recover from his recent bout with viral meningitis--and includes stops in Toronto, New York, Boston, Chicago, and Los Angeles, before wrapping Sunday, May 29 in Las Vegas.  Tickets for the originally scheduled shows will be honored at the new dates.  For the tour openers, the band has set Tal Wilkenfeld to perform on the first 13 shows with Slydigs to accompany them on the remaining dates. In addition, 2015 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees Joan Jett & The Blackhearts (who accompanied THE WHO on the first leg of this tour) will perform as special guests at the Thursday, March 3 show at Madison Square Garden in New York City.

Australian-born, LA-based Tal Wilkenfeld (www.talwilkenfeld.com) is a musical marvel; the female bassist is a dynamic young talent with a fresh vision.  Tal has made quite a name for herself as a sought-after bassist since emerging onto the music scene as a teenager. After releasing her acclaimed, instrumental jazz debut, Transformation, Tal went on to tour with Chick Corea and Jeff Beck. Her performance at Eric Clapton's Crossroads Festival in Chicago has generated more than 10 million+ YouTube playsto date.   She has recorded studio projects with some of today's most respected and iconic artists in the industry such as: Prince, Ryan Adams, Ringo Starr, Brian Wilson, Jackson Browne, Joe Walsh, Toto, Todd Rundgren and Trevor Rabin. She has also performed live with Sting, Eric Clapton, Jimmy Page, Mick Jagger, Steven Tyler, Buddy Guy, David Gilmour and Billy Gibbons--which led to her role anchoring Pharrell and Hanz Zimmer on the 2015 GRAMMY Awards. Tal has also appeared on major TV network A&E performing with Herbie Hancock and Wayne Shorter.

Slydigs, who will make their North American debut on this tour, cite a rich tapestry of musical influences. Few though manage to personalize and capture the standards of what has gone before as brilliantly as Slydigs (http://www.slydigs.co.uk).  Imagine a mixture of 60s power pop, 70s punk rebellion, 80s post punk angst and some 90s guitar driven Britpop, then throw in a bit of glam rock as well for good measure and you'll get an idea of what to expect from Slydigs.Hailing from Warrington in the north of England, Slydigs--Dean Fairhurst (Vocals/Rhythm Guitar); Louis Menguy (Lead Guitar/Backing Vocals); Peter Fleming (Percussion); and Ben Breslin (Bass/Backing Vocals)--are a four-piece who are wowing audiences around the UK and Europe with their unique mixture of, what frontman Dean Fairhurst calls, "Modern Guitar based Rock n Roll, infused Blues music with perspicacity." Freshly back from a sold-out European tour with Vintage Trouble, the band are about to take North America by storm. For their inaugural U.S.tour, the band is honored to share the stage with one of their major influences, rock legends, The Who, having already supported them on their recent UK Tour and at Hyde Park. For Slydigs, this is a great way to be introduced to American audiences. Dean sums up the band's feelings: "To support them around America is the highest privilege a band like us could be offered. Their songs and back catalogue have been a huge part of our education. Their legacy has, and still is, a daily inspiration."  Slydigs receive rave reviews for their music.  Their latest release 'Light The Fuse' is featured in 'Rock Band 4.' Their live shows are quickly becoming legendary, collecting new fans whenever they play. Fans they treasure as "true music lovers with class."

THE WHO HITS 50!" tour is being presented by AEG Live.  Tickets and VIP packages for the shows are available at www.thewho.com.  Citi is the official credit card of "THE WHO HITS 50!" tour.  Citi cardmembers will have access to purchase tickets for the U.S. dates through Citi's Private Pass Program. For details visitwww.citiprivatepass.com.

THE WHO have sold over 100 million records since forming in 1964; they brought together four different personalities and in effect produced a musical hurricane.  Each of them was a pioneer. Wildman drummer Keith Moon beat his kit with a chaotic elegance; stoic bassist John Entwistle held down the center with the melodic virtuosity of a solo guitarist; raging intellectual Pete Townshend punctuated the epic universality of his songs with the windmill slamming of his fingers across his guitar strings; and Roger Daltrey roared above it all with an impossibly virile macho swagger. They exploded conventional rhythm and blues structures, challenged pop music conventions, and redefined what was possible on stage, in the recording studio, and on vinyl. Deep into their 50th year, the band is still going strong, winning rave reviews.

PHANTOM 5 Make Their Debut May 13

Frontiers Music Srl is pleased to announce the release of PHANTOM 5's self-titled debut album on May 13th, 2016.

PHANTOM 5 is the new band put together by former BONFIRE singer Claus Lessmann, together with producer and guitar player Michael Voss (CASANOVA, BONFIRE, MAD MAX, MICHAEL SCHENKER). They have enlisted a sort of who's who of German classic and melodic hard rock with a lineup completed by Robby Boebel (from Frontline), Axel Kruse (from Jaded Heart) and Francis Buchholz (from Scorpions).

Born as 'Supremacy', this new German melodic rock alliance, with five real aces on the pitch, could not disappoint. So, after the name change to Phantom 5, the new album started to take shape. According to Michael Voss: 'For me it sounds like we did a follow up to the famous Bonfire 'Fireworks' album with a touch of Frontline meets JADED HEART groove' it is a driving monster with huge walls of guitars, powerful soaking drums and fine catchy melodies'we took a trip back into the world of the eighties!!!'

Claus Lessmann adds 'I am very proud of being part of a very fine piece of melodic rock and I hope that many people will like and love it the same way we do. Everything came together very naturally and I had the feeling, that our flow of creativity never seemed to run dry, just like it should be. After the more than painful situation with Bonfire, it was exactly the right thing, at the right time to do for me and it just felt and feels so damn right!'

And indeed it's been a long time since we've heard a Melodic Hard Rock record THIS GOOD coming from Germany! Think Bonfire's 'Point Blank', Casanova's debut album, Frontline's Heroes, or Fair Warning's debut record and you get an idea of how this is going to hit you. Get ready to push the play button very often. This record has everything you'd expect and more - enjoy!

Claus Lessmann and Michael Voss will exclusively appear at the Frontiers Rock Festival in the Acoustic Night reserved for VIP tickets purchasers on April 22nd. All info are available here: www.frontiersrockfestival.com

PHANTOM 5 tracklisting includes: All The Way; Blue Dog; Someday; Don't Touch The Night; Renegade; Flying High; Since You'Re Gone; They Won'T Come Back; Frontline; We Both Had Our Time; Why. Sing Along (Bonus Track Digital Version)

FRONTIERS RECORDS Turns 20

On February 27, 1996, a then 30-year old guy from a city in Southern Italy, probably better known for pizza and mozzarella rather than rock n' roll music, finally managed to open his own business. As a major music fan, he had a dream. That dream was to work with his musical heroes and bring them to the attention of the masses. At the time, he had no knowledge of the record business. All he did was register the business and pay an invoice from a Swedish label called Westcoast Records to buy some CDs, which had just been released and that no one in Italy was interested in distributing. That business was called 'Frontiers', after the timeless 1983 Journey album, and the man was Serafino Perugino.

On February 27, 2016, Frontiers turns 20 years old! In all this time, a lot of things happened. Frontiers became a limited liability company in 1998 and released its first album commercially across Europe from the band TEN, 'Never Say Goodbye', in April of the same year. Also in 1998, Mario de Riso, a fellow passionate music fan, was hired by Serafino for his abilities in the market as a label manager and his expertise in legal affairs. Needless to say, the excellent results of Mario joining the team are evident 18 years later. Staying in the distribution business in Italy (until 2013), Serafino and Mario were joined by a team of passionate and motivated music fans over the years, including Lorenzo Pagliaro, Giulio Cataldo, Elio Bordi, Ezio Benetti, and Massarock, who made possible the quick rise of the label by becoming the name in Melodic Rock first and later on, a premiere name in Hard Rock and Metal as well.

Some of the remarkable Frontiers' 'milestones' reached during the past years include: TEN's album 'Spellbound' was the first to be certified on a national sales chart (#100 in Germany in 1999); The Poodles are the first (and so far the only) band who brought the label to top of the album charts (#1 in Sweden with their record 'Performocracy' in 2011). In 2010, Frontiers executed a strategic distribution agreement in North America with Caroline/EMI (who later became Caroline/Universal) and in March 2011, Frontiers debuted on the U.S. Billboard charts with the awesome Whitesnake album 'Forevermore'. In 2014, we launched the first Frontiers Rock Festival, a multi-day concert event featuring label artists exclusively, in Milan. This year will be the third edition and it has become one of the leading live events for Melodic and Hard Rock acts. In 20 years, we released more than 700 albums, with chart entries all over the world. We have strategically expanded our business and partnerships during the years to include people like Derek Shulman as Chairman of Frontiers NA and A&R consultant, Nick Tieder as North American Label Manager, and the very recent addition of another top US industry executive - who will be announced very soon - who will help direct the catalogue expansion and label presence all over the world.

It's therefore time to celebrate the first 20 Years and look to the future with new plans and activities. Everything that we will do will keep having the usual standard of world class entertainment offered to the fans by real music fans!

Also, as part of our 20th Anniversary, we wanted to get involved with a charity we support. NANA is an association born to pursue the intellectual and spiritual heritage of Francesca Martini, a person, who in the 14 years in which she lived, showed depths of purpose, originality and human qualities that left a distinctive and unique mark in the memory of all those who knew her. This association pursues the education and training of students with disabilities and disabled people in schools of all levels and the promotion of scientific research with particular focus on the prevention and treatment of cancer. DOCKER'S GUILD Prep CD Release of 'The Heisenberg Diaries'

Docker's Guild is very proud to announce the release of it's second album "The Heisenberg Diaries - Book A: Sounds of Future Past" in CD format on 26 February 2016 on Rock Company/Black Swan Records. The digital release was already available from 21 January 2016 on Lion Music.

It is part of a series of 4 transitional albums placed between the 5 main “seasons” and which focus on an aspect of the storyline’s main character, Dr. Jack Heisenberg. This particular installment focuses on Jack’s youth and love of science fiction, in fact the album contains exclusively vintage science fiction soundtracks reworked in the typical Docker’s Guild sound. “Book A” will be followed by “The Mystic Technocracy - Season II: The Age of Entropy”, already in development. Another unique feature of “Book A” is its all-female cast, which makes it, as far as we know, the first all-female metal opera ever recorded.

A new video trailer has been uploaded for you to watch.

VEGA Deliver 'Who We Are' May 13 on Frontiers

Frontiers Music Srl is excited to announce the release of VEGA's fourth studio album 'Who We Are' on May 13.

VEGA is really one of the few bands who successfully manage to mix in their music the heritage of the great Melodic Rock bands of the 80's and 90's with a very contemporary approach to songwriting and production. VEGA is indeed one of the few bands that makes the hairs on the back of your neck stand up and give you that butterflies in your stomach excitement as you listen to the songs on an album for the first time. And with their fourth studio album, 'Who We Are', once again for the Frontiers label, VEGA manage again to create a magic formula with 11 concise and riveting songs that rock from start to finish and will leave you wanting more!

'We always try to push the envelope with each record that we do and this one is no different. We have put in all of our different musical influences into every song and what has come out of it is undoubtedly VEGA but a VEGA that is bigger than ever!' says singer Nick Workman.

Brothers Tom and James Martin say: 'We're thrilled with how this record came out. We were in a fortunate position where we could fly Harry Hess over from Canada to produce the record. We spent the best part of 3 weeks with Harry at Monnow Valley Studios in Wales perfecting this record. There was laughter, blood, sweat and tears along the way and even a hospital visit, but what a great time we had! And to be recording where the likes of Queen, Led Zeppelin Official, Oasis and Black Sabbath have recorded was incredibly inspiring.'

'The ballad 'Nothing Lasts Forever' is a stand out for me,' adds keyboard player James Martin. 'It's a huge piano ballad with Queen and The Beatles influences and Harry really went to town on the production of this song.'

Tom Martin says: "This is probably our most diverse record and that's what we tried for when choosing the songs. Each song has its own identity and we probably have the heaviest and softest songs we have ever recorded and everything in between. That gives you an idea of how strong the material is on this record."

VEGA will embark on a tour upon the new album's release with UK Rock veterans MAGNUM. 'Who We Are' truly sees the band taking their song writing and performance to the next level. Be sure to catch the guys on tour!

'Who We Are' tracklisting includes: Explode; We Got It All; Every Little Monster; Nothing Is Forever; White Flag; For Our Sins; Generation Now; Ignite; Savin' Grace; If Not You; Hurts So Bad.

Star Chase is a new 5 piece melodic rock band featuring a very familiar name on lead vocals/guitars – Jason Old from The Radio Sun (and previously Safire, Square one, Someone Elses Life).

Joining Jason in Star Chase are:
Steve Martret - lead guitars/vocals (Safire); Gilbert Annese - drums (Square One,Someone Elses Life); Aaron Suter - keyboards/vocals (Safire); and Anthony Wong - bass/vocals (Someone Elses Life)

After the 15th anniversary of the original Safire EP, Steve and Jase began writing together initially for fun, with no other plan other than to write as many songs as they could. This eventually led to having over 20 songs written in a few months. After putting the band together it was clear there was a chemistry so the next step was to record an album with no real expectation. The resulting, The new day is collection of 11 rocking tunes for fans of “two guitar & keyboard“ rock with huge harmonies.

This band has their own unique sound. The New Day is an album that will delight fans of Jason and The Radio Sun, but also fans of classic feel good melodic rock, Australian style AOR and songswith big hooks and even bigger harmonies.

Intuitive is the brainchild of ex-Faithfull guitarist Rui Martins. After the end of Faithfull - a project that reached the charts in Japan with its two albums - guitarist and songwriter Rui Martins continued to compose music while playing live with his cover band Roadies, a band with 21 years in the business.

It’s in the midst of the Roadies family that Martins meets Alexandre “Xano” Fernandes, their former singer and also ex-Winesnake (Whitesnake tribute band). Owner of a deep voice and great stage presence, Alexandre Fernandes is the right choice to handle the vocal duties. For the bass spot, Martins invites his longtime friend and ex-Faithfull band mate, Mário Barbosa.
João Colaço (ex-Rage of Angels), one of the most sought-off session drummers in Portugal, completes the quartet.

FOREIGNER's JEFF PILSON joins Mitch on episode 197 of One On One With Mitch Lafon.

In the episode's only interview, bassist Jeff Pilson discusses Foreigner's latest release In Concert: Unplugged (available only on Amazon for the benefit of Juvenile Diabetes), working on the Last In Line album (featuring Jimmy Bain, Vivian Campbell and Vinny Appice), working on the Mortal Kombat movie, his friendship with Steven Adler and his potential return to Guns N' Roses and the upcoming classic era DOKKEN reunion.

Quotes from the Jeff Pilson interview:

New album: "It may be acoustic, but it still rocks."

Dokken Reunion: "We've all come to a place where we are very appreciative of the legacy Dokken has. When we finally do something, we are going to try and do it right, but we are going to try and do something. Hopefully, I'll have something to report sometime soon."

Steven Adler & Guns N' Roses: "I'm a huge GUNS N' ROSES fan. I happen to think Matt Sorum is an amazing drummer, but chemistry is something you cannot argue with."

"There is something about the chemistry of Steven with those guys that made a sound that I think is the sound that we all know as that classic amazing Guns N' Roses sound. As great as the band could be in later days, I just never think it had that same desperate energy again. So, do I think he should get the call? Of course, I do. I honestly believe that those guys know that. They feel that deep down."

"I think he's ready and I hope to God he gets the phone call because if he does the world is going to get lit on fire again."

Last In Line: "I'm so insanely proud of that rock. It really feels like a little piece of history and I couldn't be more hounored (than) to be a part of it."

Will you tour with Last in Line: "I would step in in a heartbeat. Unfortunately, Foreigner already has dates."

"Big Country are still undeniably Big Country' ' Musicomh

"the crowd went apeshit' - Live and Die in Music

''still playing with the energy they did in the eighties''- Nottingham Post

'Classic' is the only way to describe the energy infused, foot tapping vibes of 80's juggernauts BIG COUNTRY. Having never toured Australia and New Zealand despite a cancelled tour attempt in 1986, all that is about to change in 2016 when the undeniable hip-shakers of Scottish alternative rock bring their Greatest hits tour to this side of the world for the very first time. Performing all their trademark hits - In a Big Country, Chance, Wonderland, Look Away along with more fan favourites set to ignite your aural senses and send your hands fist pumping into a frenzy, BIG COUNTRY is set to bring the exciting power they are renowned for every night to a stage near you.

Having been described by Mick Jagger as 'one of the best opening bands we ever had,' the band continues to wow audiences around the world night in, night out with their iconically unique sound, which escalated them to the peak of greatness in the 80's. Where other artists may have fallen to the wayside, the band's musical credibility still stacks up and remains as fresh as it did decades ago, largely due to their critically acclaimed live performances. With a current lineup consisting of Bruce Watson (guitar, mandolin, sitar, vocals), Jamie Watson (guitars), Simon Houghthe (vocals, guitar, harmonica) and Mark Brzezicki (drums) who also appeared on The Cult's iconic 'Love' album, Australian and New Zealand audiences are in for an absolute live spectacle of nostalgic fan favourites that will get the whole room jumping.

Check out: In A Big CountryLook Away (Live) + Fields Of Fire (Live)Look AwayChance + Wonderland

With Allmusic claiming, 'it's hard not to be riveted by the interlocking bass-and-guitar sound,' that the band delivers; when Big Country step out in front of a packed audience the excitement around the room needs to be seen to be believed. With "fans of a certain age possibly bouncing along a little more furiously than is good for them.' - Get Ready to Rock, it's inevitable that the slick playing, pumping rhythms and soaring melody lines searing out of the bands instruments will leave you 'drenched in sweat due to plenty of mad pogo action.' ' Louder Than War. Displaying the same energy and determination to win the crowd over as they did back in the day, the trailblazers of lush vibes are doing what they have always done ' give it their all, get the room slipping and sliding around the floor dancefloor and provide a feel-good live show that will be talked about for years to come.

It's been a long wait for Australian and New Zealand fans to witness the classic act that is BIG COUNTRY, but now fans finally have the opportunity to participate in a Greatest Hits spectacle. Celebrate The Life Of Former WARRANT Singer JANI LANE With This Collection Of Superb Solo Performances!

Los Angeles, CA - In 2011, the rock world lost an incredibly gifted singer and songwriter, a man whose voice reverberated around the world on such blockbuster hits as “Cherry Pie,” “Down Boys,” “Sometimes She Cries,” “Uncle Tom’s Cabin,” and the unforgettable ballad “Heaven.” Jani Lane joined Warrant in 1985, and together the band lit up the L.A. club circuit, becoming an international sensation with multi-platinum albums and an adoring fanbase. Always a music lover at heart, after Lane left Warrant in 2004, he continued to write and record, often paying homage to some of his musical heroes by participating in tribute projects to Cheap Trick, Judas Priest and others. Now a new CD compilation collects some of these superb solo performances in one convenient package and for the first time ever on vinyl! Catch A Falling Star, which includes Lane’s takes on UFO’s “Doctor, Doctor,” Def Leppard’s “Photograph,” and Bon Jovi’s epic “Lay Your Hands On Me, will be released February 26 on Deadline Music.

In addition to guest appearances by two of Lane’s bandmates, guitarist Erik Turner & bassist Jerry Dixon, Catch A Falling Star includes liner notes by former Warrant drummer Bobby Borg who shares his personal recollections of Lane. There is “no better tribute to Lane than a collection of covers,” Borg writes, “Those who saw Warrant perform live know that Lane loved to mix cover songs into the show songs by The Doors, Led Zeppelin, Joe Walsh, Queen, and other artists throughout our live sets. (I loved that about the band.).” Speaking of Lane’s distinctive vocal style, Borg writes “Lane was able to convey the subject matter of a song emotionally whether soft and heartfelt or loud and aggressive while always maintaining a certain charm as if he were grinning warmly.” This collection is the perfect way to remember both the man and immense musical gifts, and is sure to leave a warm grin on the face of his fans everywhere.
