Rockpages.gr has conducted a video Interview with Joe Lynn Turner where he covers all current topics: http://rockpages.gr/en/interviews/item/3607-joe-lynn-turner
Some extracts from the transcript:
About focusing on his solo original material: "I just did some live gigs in Scandinavia and we were doing “Endlessly” and things like that and I plan here’s the big thing: I plan to change the whole program. After I get off touring this year I am changing the whole program. I am going all original. I am going all my stuff! I don’t even know if I’d play Rainbow. I don’t think so. But, people always want to hear “I Surrender”, they always wanna hear “Can’t Let You Go”, “Stone Cold” you can’t get away from it. And I think it’s terrible when artists have a hit with their solo songs and they refuse to play them. They get tired of it. Of course we get tired of it, but you must play it for the fans! They are the important ones! So, I will definitely change the whole program to all original stuff. When I say “original” I mean anything that I’ve co-written, or wrote. So, it will be the “Rescue You” album, it will be Malmsteen stuff although I do Malmsteen live, just more Joe Lynn Turner than anything. I’d be getting a lot of requests and a lot of negative feedback sometimes from people saying: “oh, why don’t you do your own solo songs”. Okay! I’ve got more than 60 albums. It’s very difficult to choose"
About his new project: "I am currently writing for another project of mine that is pretty secret and I can’t divulge too much about it now, with a very famous Swedish producer and it’s going to change my sound completely. Which is really interesting to me, because I think it’s time for me to be born again in a way and I have so much material, so I’ve been busy writing with this producer and recording some things. We are at the beginning stages."
About Rainbow's reunion: "I think Dougie said it best to me, he said: “you know Joe, it’s not Rainbow unless they do an album and a tour”. And I said “I have to agree with you Dougie”. Because, that’s the truth you know until you can write the songs, make some sense out of it all, do some great gigs, add to the name “Rainbow” otherwiise our legacy, whether it’s Ronnie, God bless him, or Graham, or myself, or even Dougie, comes down in stature. Because, then anybody can be in Rainbow like this."
About his idea of a Rainbow reunion: "I was talking to Carol Stevens, the management, over a year and a few months no kidding! Everyone called my delusional that I believed Ritchie would ever rock again. Everyone called me this, that I got a lot of crap in the press. I am pretty sick of that by the way, because you are a bunch of idiots, if you don’t realize that! She didn’t want to go along with a multi-million dollar deal I’ve set up with UMG, Universal Music Group, if you don’t know what that is, Rockfuel media for an HD, 3D DVD, who just went to No.1 with the Axl Rose “Appetite For Democracy” DVD, so it’s great people, okay? We were going to have re-packaging of our box sets etc, and I was talking to Rick Franks over to Live Nation who wanted to put us on the biggest festivals. And to my surprise, to my shock I found out he didn’t want to do it Why? I will never know. I have my suspicions and I’ve read a lot of fans comments on their suspicions, and some of them I think are correct. But, I really don’t know why."

As many AC/DC fans know, the remaining shows for the 2016 AC/DC Rock or Bust World Tour, including 10 postponed U.S. shows, are being rescheduled with a guest singer. I want personally to explain the reason because I don’t believe the earlier press releases sufficiently set out what I wanted to say to our fans or the way in which I thought it should be presented.
On March 7th, after a series of examinations by leading physicians in the field of hearing loss, I was advised that if I continue to perform at large venues, I risked total deafness. While I was horrified at the reality of the news that day, I had for a time become aware that my partial hearing loss was beginning to interfere with my performance on stage. I was having difficulty hearing the guitars on stage and because I was not able to hear the other musicians clearly, I feared the quality of my performance could be compromised. In all honesty this was something I could not in good conscience allow. Our fans deserve my performance to be at the highest level, and if for any reason I can’t deliver that level of performance I will not disappoint our fans or embarrass the other members of AC/DC. I am not a quitter and I like to finish what I start, nevertheless, the doctors made it clear to me and my bandmates that I had no choice but to stop performing on stage for the remaining shows and possibly beyond. That was the darkest day of my professional life.
Since that day, I have had several consultations with my doctors and it appears that, for the near future, I will be unable to perform on stage at arena and stadium size venues where the sound levels are beyond my current tolerance, without the risk of substantial hearing loss and possibly total deafness. Until that time, I tried as best as I could to continue despite the pain and hearing loss but it all became too much to bear and too much to risk.
I am personally crushed by this development more than anyone could ever imagine. The emotional experience I feel now is worse than anything I have ever in my life felt before. Being part of AC/DC, making records and performing for the millions of devoted fans this past 36 years has been my life’s work. I cannot imagine going forward without being part of that, but for now I have no choice. The one thing for certain is that I will always be with AC/DC at every show in spirit, if not in person.
Most importantly, I feel terrible having to disappoint the fans who bought tickets for the canceled shows and who have steadfastly supported me and AC/DC these many years. Words cannot express my deep gratitude and heartfelt thanks not just for the recent outpouring to me personally of kind words and good wishes, but also for the years of loyal support of AC/DC. My thanks also go to Angus and Cliff for their support.
Finally, I wish to assure our fans that I am not retiring. My doctors have told me that I can continue to record in studios and I intend to do that. For the moment, my entire focus is to continue medical treatment to improve my hearing. I am hoping that in time my hearing will improve and allow me to return to live concert performances. While the outcome is uncertain, my attitude is optimistic. Only time will tell.
Once again, my sincere best wishes and thanks to everyone for their support and understanding.
Love,
Brian

However...Blackmore's absence at the ceremony was truly noticed. His credo always was and is to know your own truth and walk your own path... follow no one. A true 'outlaw' til the end.
So I am humbled and touched by the recent Blackmore post concerning my work with the band. His respectful and supportive comments of my efforts on the ‘Slaves and Masters’ album were better than any 'award' I could receive especially from an organization that has 'lost the point' many years ago.
I agree that ‘Slaves and Masters’ is a great album as our collaborations have always been a mix of magical chemistry and artful integrity that will stand the test of time.
My heartfelt thanks and sincere respect to a true original."
